Markus nodded. "Alright... I can do that... we should get the rest up here though..." he said. "If it is really safer... the fire is dying down a bit though..." Markus said as he continued getting the fire down. He took a break for a moment before waving the others over, signaling for them to join them.

"They should be ok down there. We seem to be winning anyways" She looked back at the house then at Markus then to the blaze as it started to die.

"Daniel go get them" Lith said sitting down shaking the fear away.

Markus nodded, he continued fighting the fire... it was starting to get under control. They had it, there would be no worries. The house was fine. He smiled.

Daniel nodded to Lith. "I'll be right back..." he said running off up to them. Once he arrived. "What do you two think you are doing... do you know how dangerous that was? What possessed you to run up here in the first place?" Daniel said more curious than angry.

Mera saw Daniel running to them and she knew she would be scolded. She looked down "I... It was my fault... Markus just ran after me to bring me back and make sure I was ok..." she said leaving out the fact that this was her old house and the fact that she felt a presence not their own here.

"It's... it's alright... I'm just glad you are not injured..." he said. "Both of you... now come on... we should get back... I think Lith was worried sick... and she doesn't need anything like that right now..." he said. "Why... did you come up here anyways?"

Mera nodded and started to walk back with her head down a little to hide the pain she felt when she looked upon the house. 'What I would give to have that life back...' she thought.

Lith smiled seeing them come back but saw Mera was not happy.

Markus looked to Mera... he could sense that she was feeling a bit down... almost loosing a home like that... it would probably make anyone feel concern. He put an arm around her, holding her lightly. He didn't know what he could say, other than remind her that he was there for her.

She put a hand on his softly and gave a weak smile. "Thanks..." she said quietly. She was so confused about the message on the window, it couldn't be literal could it? She went to Lith "I'm sorry for the scare... You...You ok?" she asked.

Lith was pale as she looked up at Daniel and Mera and Doc. "I think my water just broke..." she said quietly.

Daniel looked to her. Not quite sure what to say. She was going to give birth soon... but they were far out right now... they would have to rush her back. Doc had the same look as Daniel, however he managed to act first. "Come on... we will get you back to the ship... Daniel, help her, I will prepare my station. Hurry!" he said. Daniel snapped from his stupor then went to Lith. "I... can't believe it..." he said, he sounded somewhat happy, but worried for Lith.

"No" Mera said. "Take her to my home..." she said "it's closes and with me being in Lith's position all the right tools are up there" she said. "Daniel and Markus pick her up and bring her up to the house." she said rushing up to the house to prepare the bed.

Lith kept her breathing even knowing stress would rush things. "I'm ok..." she said breathing in and out "Take me to her house" she said.

Daniel moved to her, able to lift her by himself. "Sorry Doc... I have her..." he said. He was careful with her. Doc still helped, getting the doors open for him. Daniel brought her in easily enough, she was getting heavy... very heavy... but not too bad for him. Daniel and Doc went upstairs, laying her down on the bed once it was prepared. Daniel knelled next to her. "Is there anything you need, water? Anything at all..." he said wanting to be there for her.

"Daniel I know this is hard..." Mera said as he brought Lith into the room. "It's a sifter tradition that the men wait outside the den or home before birth..." she said "Markus could you fetch me some warm water and towels they are under the sink in the kitchen." she said propping Lith up with pillows "Breathe In.... and out" she said calmly.

Daniel looked at her in disbelief... he couldn't be there for what was going to happen... he looked down... he would accept tradition. He moved outside. "Tell me as soon as I can enter... I want to be with my children and my mate..." he said leaving the home. He was way to anxious to sit down. He paced... trying to think... what would happen...

Markus nodded and ran off... he would have to be there as a doctor. He hoped he could help Lith out as much as he could. He grabbed the towels and a bowl of warm water. He came back as quick as he could.

Mera smiled softly at Daniel "I will personally fetch you as fast as I can" she said. Mera looked from Markus to Lith "Ever delivered a baby Markus?" she asked curiously. "Take her hand, Lith hold it tight and when I say push you push.

Lith kept her breathing even but felt the contractions starting to come faster and faster. "Mera... I'm scared...." she said softly taking Doc's hand and holding it tight.

Mera lifted the dress she gave Lith up so she could guide the baby once it started to show. "No matter what you need to think of Human form" she said.

"I... I have not..." he said. "I have read books on the subject of childbirth, study how, but I never had a patient that... well... was pregnant." he said. Doc took Lith's hand. "It's alright... you will be fine... just do as Mera says... remember your human form... think about two feet, no fangs, long hair from your head." he said thinking of human things himself.

Daniel couldn't help but pace. He placed his ear next to the door, hoping to hear...

"Lucky I have then" she said. "Right Lith Push".

Lith let out a soft cry as she pushed and squeezed Doc's hand. "Human thoughts" she whispered between moans.

"Markus wet a small cloth and wipe her brow" Mera said feeling sweat run across her forehead also. Mera's rolled up sleeves now held small red stains as she grabbed towels. "Come on babies... Push Lith" Mera said again a little louder and more forceful.

"Ahh" Lith cried as she pushed her head back and pressed her feet against the end of the bed. "It hurts" she moaned.

Markus did as he was told, wiping her brow... holding her hand, she squeezed hard. Markus was thankful that Mera was there... he would know what do to, but the experiance would be useful. He continued to wipe Lith's brow every now and then.

Daniel heard Lith's cries... he wanted to be there for her... but he would obey tradition... he listened though... nothing would stop him from that.

Through the screams, shouts and cries was the sound of tears. A small voice called out of the chaos making the room still and quiet.

Mera looked up at Lith who had fainted "She's bleeding to much... Fetch my hubs down in the kitchen by the stove and don't let Daniel in yet" she said urgently as she wrapped up two small bundles.

Lith felt the pressure rise then she heard the small cry, it was calling her "My baby... Where is my baby" she whispered weakly before fainting.

Daniel heard cries coming from within the room. And it wasn't his wife... he knew it had happened... he wanted in... he waited though, just like he said that he would.

Markus nodded and rand down to get what he was told... he was the doctor but he could only sit back and watch. He was proud of Lith... and Mera... she knew what she was doing.

It wasn't long before Mera awoke Lith. She let out a sigh of relief when her eyes opened and she called out for her children.

Lith awoke again with a fright she couldn't hear the tiny cries. "Where are my children..." she said sitting up slowly.

Mera held two in her arms and handed them to their mother "Unfortunately.... There was three... One did not make it... Sorry" she said looking down. "I shell fetch Daniel" she said looking to Markus before leaving the room.

Mera opened the door to find Daniel right outside. "She lost a lot of blood... But she and the children are ok. Your twin girls are ok." she said with a smile "However there was a third but he didn't make it sorry..." she said. "Now go be with your family".

Daniel nodded... twin girls... but... there would have also been a son... he was sad for a moment... but... he knew... such was life. He couldn't do anything. He walked in, a mix of excitement, and fear... he hoped that... the others would make it... And Lith lost a lot of blood... he would need to get a hunting party around soon... But for now he wanted to see his mate.

Daniel moved close to her, seeing the children... and Lith. He smiled. "How are you feeling love?" he asked her, stroking her hair lovingly. Looking down on their two baby girls.

Mer waited till Daniel had gone inside then she lent against the wall outside and started to sob quietly.

Lith smiled with tears running down her face as she looked up at Daniel, she held a beautiful baby girl in each arm. "We... We did it" she said with tears streaming down her face "First shifters born since... since me." she said.

Daniel nodded, kissing her lightly. He wiped away her tears gently. "We did it..." he said... "We... are parents..." he kissed her once more, carefully. He moved his view down to his two little girls. He felt them, carefully of course... stroking their heads... "They... are going to need names..." he said.

Markus watched as Mera started to go outside... he looked to Daniel and Lith... figuring they could use some alone time. He walked out of the house as well, he then seen Mera. He looked to her. He figured that he might know what was wrong. But... he was unsure if he could help her... if she wanted to be left alone...

She smiled kissing her mate. "Your a daddy" she said with a laugh. "Want to hold?" she asked gently lifting one of the little girls up for Daniel. "They will need names indeed" she said.

Mera felt eyes on her as she feel to her knees. She held herself as she cried.

Daniel gently took one of the girls, holding her close to him. How small they seemed. Little children. He kissed her on the forehead. "Your a mother..." he said. "A beautiful mother with beautiful children..." he said. He held the little girl a while longer, staring at her... wondering what the future would hold for these shifters...

Markus went to her, he knelled down next to her... he should be there for her... he wanted to be there for her. He put his arms around her. "It's alright... just... let it out... I'm here for you." he said to her.
