Ain't That a Beach (tag: Kaitou_Dark_Sama)
She always found night time calming. The waxing moon was just above the horizon, making a stream of silver across the water. Soon, it would disappear into the water, making the night truly dark. It wasn't often that she came to the beach, but when she did, it usually ended up giving her trouble. Tonight, she was ready for anything. With two daggers hidden in her high heel boots, and two pistols hidden under her leather jacket, there was no way that she could remain in trouble if it decided to come around. Her bright red hair actually looked like a strange purple in the moonlight. The true darkness would make it look like a bloody red.
As she walked along the shore, just out of the water's reach, she couldn't help but think about what she was actually doing here. Sure, it's always quiet at this time so nobody would be around to bother her, but at the same time, she wanted at least one person to talk to.
It didn't take long for her to pick up the scent of somebody nearby. She slowed her pace, and walked to one of the nearby trees, sitting down against the trunk. She didn't have to look to see where they were, because she could smell them, thanks to her wolf senses, and she could also sense their location, thanks to her vampire senses. She remained at the tree, with one hand ready to grab her dagger, waiting for the stranger to get closer.

The dirty blond walked down the stretch of beach this calm night, a smile on his face as he ocasionally looked off out into the dark waters of the vast waters, his aqua eyes drifting over the horizon which seemed as though it wasn't there. The only way you could see the division of water and sky was the fact that the glowing moon made the water beneath it shine and dance. He ran a hand through the side of his hair, pushing a couple loose strands behind his ear, small strands that escaped the mass of spray he had used to make the short mohawk he had, which trailed at the back into a short mullet, he liked his hair, no matter how many people seemed to make fun of him for it. He wore a black t-shirt, despite the cold breeze drifting off the waters that night, and a pair of jeans that most people would have seen as a size to small, but they couldn't be that small if he could still fit his hands into the pockets...kinda. The night was silent except for the periodic crash of a small wave hitting the beach, it was like music to him and it made him smile. He knew it sounded sappy but he honestly loved long walks on the beach...even if they were by himself, just to escape from the busy reality that he happened to call his life and on these late night beach walks he never expected to find anyone out there as well...Tonight though was different as he saw a figure looming in the distant, he cocked his head to the side for a moment before smiling and walking up to the tree the person had just sat next to at an angle where he probably wouldn't have been completely visible to her, he sat down perpendicular to her and leaned back so the back of his head rested again the tree, "Not often you find someone else out on the beach so late at night." He said in a smooth care-free and friendly voice, hoping to strike up a conversation, that was just the kind of person he was, a very social and even slightly preppy person, sort of like a puppy seeing a friend in everyone.

Riley raised an eyebrow, and changed her position against the tree trunk so that she'd comfortably be able to see him, while still hiding her dagger that she held at the ready. "You find that strange, why?" she asked, despite the fact that she was curious as to why he was out walking at this time. He smelled human, so she relaxed a bit, but she'd met humans before that were able to do a whole truckload more than what was to be expected of a human. Therefore, she could never be too cautious. She sat up, no longer leaning against the tree, and looked straight at him. She even used her telepathic abilities to dig through his mind about what he was really doing here.
Luckily, she was able to do this even while talking to him so that she didn't seem suspicious. "It's not very often you find anyone that looks so tasty... especially someone alone... human..." her voice faded away as her hunger started to really get to her. It was only during the new moon that her vampire genes seemed to overcome her werewolf genes. Her eyes glowed a strange pale yellow as she crept closer and closer to him. "Did you ever hear about that vampire that randomly killed that boy on the beach?" she asked him, as she couldn't help but laugh and show off her long, sharp canines.

Demyx looked at her as she spoke to him and he smiled lightly. Though the smile slowly started to fade as what she said got weirder, this wasn't something he had been expecting at all. Okay, so it was quite clear now that she wasn't human and from what she was saying she was obvious some sort of vampire thing, he got that much. "Well..no I can't honestly say I have. But I'm going to go ahead and guess something along the lines of it was you?" he ended the statement with a question instead and pressed himself involuntarily closer to the tree behind him. Though he wasn't as scared as he knew he should have been, he didn't know why though. He sighed and scratched the back of his head, "Are you going to try and kill me?" he asked more in the tone of a whining child then anything else.

Riley sat back, knowing she didn't have to worry about him being any trouble to her. She burst out into laughter, both at herself and the stranger. Her laughter echoed across the water, disturbing nothing but the silence that filled the air. She looked at him again, and grinned, "I'm just jokin' with ya. I'm not about to kill you, don't worry. Bad joke." she leaned against the tree once more, and sighed, deciding conversation was better. She tucked a lock of hair behind one ear, and asked, "Why do you go for walks on the beach, anyway? Do you have conflicting thoughts?"

Demyx scratched the back of his neck and let out an unsure laugh as she burst into laughter. That had been...weird if anything, but it seemed like any threat against him had disappeared quickly, or maybe there had never actually been a real threat to begin with and this was simply, as she had stated, a bad joke. He didn't let his mind drift on that for long though, honestly just wanting to forget that little episode and start fresh, and the next question shot his way seemed like an easy way to do just that. "Well...I come out here because I love the water...it's so peaceful and calming and has that quality to pull your mind away from any problems or even life, y'know?" He said looking out at the dark water beyond with a smile.

She raised an eyebrow at him, a little weirded out about his smile as he looked at the dark waters, wondering, "Actually no... I don't.. know. When I think of water, I think of a cliff, raging waves of ocean splashing against the base of the cliff, and me falling from the cliff to my death..." she says, her voice fading out. After a moment or two, she cleared her throat, shook her head and straightened her posture, then said "Anyway, we don't need to worry about what I think about.. What I think about doesn't always come true..." She probably forgot to mention about her clairvoyance. Usually, her clairvoyance would give her what some called 'bad feelings'. Riley just called them a pain in the eye.

Demyx blinked a couple times, turning back to look at her, his smile slowly starting to fade at her explanation, it was so morbid, something Demyx would probably never have come across his mind. He shook it off as she said not to think about it. It was still a lingering thought though. He pushed a hand through his dirty blond hair, "So..." he started trying to think of something to say, "What's you name?" he asked, realizing he didn't know, looking at her, his almost always present smile returning to his features as he awaited a response.

Never before had she been so lost for words. Usually, it was pretty simple to keep up conversation. Usually, there was something to do. "Riley." she answered her name, looking back at him with dark, grey eyes. There were too many people that would recognize her the second she said her last name, so she usually avoided doing so. "Yours?" she returned the question, her hands fidgeting with her jeans while she waited.

Demyx nodded as she said her name, "I'm Demyx." he replied. He stood up and stretched standing at his full height of 6'2". He let out soft sigh and looked out at the dark waters beyond. He looked back round at Riley, "Do you wanna go for a walk?" He asked, tilting his head to the side questioningly. "I don't really like just staying in one spot." He said as an explanation.
Re: Ain't That a Beach (tag: Kaitou_Dark_Sama)
Riley stood, straightening and dusting off her clothing. "Nice to meet you Demyx." she smiled slightly, then nodded, "We could walk around if you want. Don't matter to me." she said, waiting for him to start walking somewhere so she'd follow. "Yeah, staying in one spot usually gets me in trouble one way or another...heh." she blinked a couple times, then looked out at the dark water. She could sense there was something out there... she couldn't tell exactly what it was... she just hoped it wasn't another demon that would try to enslave her. She shook off the feeling, and looked back at Demyx. "So where to, trusty navigator?" she asked, wondering if he actually had anywhere in mind.
