Re: A Sight to See
Draylen's mother smiled and took his hand, pleased to see that her son's new boyfriend had nice manners. "Oooh, British I see" she grinned, dropping his hand and moving to kiss Draylen on the top of the head. "Nice catch Dray" she teased, messing up his hair before moving to leave the room. "Well you boys have fun. Dray, we're leaving in an hour." Draylen was blushing, muttering a complaint about his mom's comment, fixing his hair quickly.
Re: A Sight to See
When Dray's mother was gone, Nathaniel smiled at his boyfriend fixing his hair. He ruffled the younger's hair just to mess with him as well. "Your parents like noting that I'm British," he said, not that he had a problem with it. "I suppose British accents aren't that common here then." He could understand them taking note of it for their own reference. It was comical enough anyway.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen pouted as the older messed up his hair that he had just fixed, which was now covering most of his face. He crossed his arms and sighed before tossing his head back, raking it all back with his fingers before letting it fall as it always did. "Yeah, and I told you about my mom and her old British movies. I'm pretty sure most women think British accents are sexy anyways. I sure do" he grinned, even if he wasn't a woman, he still loved it.
Re: A Sight to See
"Right, right, I recall." Maybe women did like British accents. They always seemed to hang off his words when he spoke, grinning about something or other. Males weren't so much interested, they were more into laughing at it, Nathaniel didn't mind too much about that. Accents just seemed to be something interesting to most people, himself included. He liked German accents, Albanian accents were cool too, but he had a hard time understanding them. "Your family does appear nice though. You're lucky," he informed him.
Re: A Sight to See
"Mhmm. Sometimes I wonder if the voice in her head is British or something" Draylen mused, shaking his hair back from his grass green eyes again. "Yeah, I'm really lucky. They're great" he beamed, very happy with how his life was turning out, even if he wasn't exactly going anywhere at the moment. "Hmm, you'd better not be the kind of Brit that loses their accent after a while. I don't want it to go away" he sighed, since they had been on the topic of accents.
Re: A Sight to See
"I believe people can lose or gain accents if they're within a new area long enough," he said, "I have no intention of purposely losing my accent though, especially if I ever go back to my home again, I don't really want to be sounding like an American." He left it as an 'if' statement to let Draylen know that it wasn't exactly certain he'd go back to the region he was from. He would like it, but he was really liking Draylen, he was torn between the two currently. "What if I picked up an Australian accent? Or a Scottish accent? What would you think then?" he asked teasingly, wondering if Dray just liked accents or British accents in particular.
Re: A Sight to See
"Nothing wrong with sounding American" Draylen crossed his arms, huffing lightly. He didn't like the idea of Nathaniel possibly leaving him to go back to Britain, but if it made him happy, he was going to have to accept it. Dray wrinkled his nose at the thought of the other accents, trying to picture them in Nathaniel's voice. "It would be weird. I don't mind the accents, but it would be really weird" he wrinkled his nose again, not too sure if he would like that or not.
Re: A Sight to See
"Perhaps," the Brit mused, thinking about it and failing at trying to think of himself with other accents. He had answered both the sentences of Dray's with just the one word. "Well, I don't know. My brother sounds American, mostly. Some of his words still have an accent in ti." His parents sounded more British when they got mad or emotional or something. Drunk too. His mum was quite the Brit when she was drinking with her friends at their house. He felt out of place in his family, his parents working or socializing with people from work. Mostly dealing with work items. He was more of a, 'just get the work done so the next bit can be started.'
Re: A Sight to See
"Well, he's younger and more impressionable" Draylen reasoned, having had a girl in his class in the third grade move to their school from one in Britain, and she lost her accent rather quickly. He didn't know Nathaniel's brother, but if he sounded American already, then he assumed it was because he was younger. That, or the fact that Nath seemed to dislike America, and be very proud of where he came from.
Re: A Sight to See
"Well, that too. He's a lot younger and doesn't mind America as must since he didn't know Britain that well to begin with," he explained, brushing his bangs back. "He has no pride for where we used to live, again, being a child, it doesn't matter to him." Nathaniel shrugged as if the idea was absurd to him too. "I don't mean to sound so biased against America... Well, actually, I partially do, but I don't mean to seem as if I'm obsessed with going back." He kind of was, but he played the cards he was dealt with, he wasn't about to toss them in the pile for a new hand, so to speak.
Re: A Sight to See
"Yeah. You seem to not really like it here. It probably is better in Britain, but I wouldn't want to leave" Draylen frowned, not liking the sound of the way Nathaniel said that, making it sound like he was going to leave. He didn't want his Nath to leave him to go back to Britain. He was tired of people leaving him behind. He ran his fingers through his bangs, holding the brown hair away from his face and tilting his head down, looking up at the strands before letting go, shaking his head to move tha hair now, mostly just fiddling.
Re: A Sight to See
"I would imagine it's more or less the idea that my parents just wanted to up and leave there and come here," Nathaniel said. "It could be a worse place with worse weather and worse people. The government could be worse too, but only in subject standards." He thought it was cute that Dray didn't want him to leave at all. He wasn't going to promise that he'd stay just for him with the chances of breaking up there for any normal couple, although there was always just saying it, getting broken up with or breaking up with for some reason, and leaving since the promise wouldn't mean anything to the other party.
Re: A Sight to See
"Hm. Well I guess that's a valid reason" Draylen nodded, running a hand through his hair. "America's not the worst place around. It could be better, but it's not bad" he smiled. Prejudice was something that could be better, but it got better as people became more open minded, and that happened as time went on. Even the United States were better with that than some people. He idly fiddled with a stray lock of hair in his face, braiding it easily, somewhat of an expert, for reasons unknown to most people.
Re: A Sight to See
((Been imagining NathDray lately, can't recall what exactly, but then again, what indeed?))
"Fair enough," he replied, nodding slightly. "At least it's not a third world country. Then I'd really be confused why my parents wanted to go here." And bugger all if he were to live in some dirt land with too much sun and not a good enough school. God blast his parents if they had made him move somewhere else. He would have been back in Britain in a heartbeat.

Re: A Sight to See
Draylen hummed, trying to think of living in a third world country. It wasn't an appealing thought at all. "I think I'm good living where I am. But when I'm older I might move to another state. Like Texas or something" he grinned slightly. He had thought of that a few times, wondering what life as a cowboy or a rancher would be like. It sounded pretty good, and much better than a third world country.
Re: A Sight to See
Nathaniel stared at Draylen a moment. "Texas? Why in all of buggery would you want to go there? Those people are off their trolley, they must be!" He'd had an uncle who went there for some vacation and came back telling them none of them could understand him. Accents and what not mixing and conflicting. "Well, if that makes you happy, by all means go for it." He rolled his eyes and patted Draylen on the head. "So you're leaving soon. Should I go?" he asked, looking around the room for where the parents might be.
Re: A Sight to See
"Because I think being a rancher would be an awesome job. Keep a couple of horses or something, and just relax in the sun" Draylen laughed, smiling brightly. He ignored the strange slang Nathaniel used, not bothering to ask this time. "Ah, you can if you want. I don't know when we're going though" he said, giving a shrug. He didn't want Nathaniel to leave, but then again, he never did. If he had his way, they would be together all the time. He felt attatched to the reader, even if they hadn't been together long.
Re: A Sight to See
"Well, of course I don't want to, but I really must if you're going out," Nathaniel smiled at him. "I'm more of a man who would rather be gone before asked to leave," he said, actually disliking orders, no matter how polite they were offered. He liked to avoid the awkward situation of dismissal when he could. They could meet up whenever later and have more time to hang out or something. He liked spending a lot of time with Draylen, even though he was the kind of person who got bored with people after a while.
Re: A Sight to See
"Okay" Draylen agreed a bit reluctantly, smiling. He got to his feet, stretching for a moment before glancing at the doorway, grass green eyes watching his house's resident ghost make it's rounds. It wandered a circut, that thankfully went nowhere near his room. He was still for a moment as it passed by him, tensing, before it passed through the wall and was gone. People generally found it a bit weird when he watched 'nothing', but he didn't care anymore. He ran a hand through his hair, looking back to Nathaniel.
Re: A Sight to See
Nathaniel watched as Draylen seemed distracted for a moment, like he was concentrating hard on something. "Is something wrong?" he asked when Draylen relaxed a bit. "Did you see something?" Draylen had this look when he was seeing something, Nathaniel noticed. Like he was concentrating on willing the ghost away or something. His brow would furrow a little, like he was thinking how to not see it or something. It was interesting to watch him stiffen up so much. It made him want to hold him until he returned to seeing what everyone else saw.
Re: A Sight to See
"Uh, yeah, it's all good" Dray nodded, giving a smile. "Just the ghostie here that likes to wander around my house. He always goes the same way though. He just walked between us and through that wall" he inclined his head in the direction to indicate which wall he meant. He stepped a bit closer to Nathaniel, seeking the comfort of his boyfriend to block out the eerie feeling he always got around the dead. He really hated what he could do, but being around people he loved helped.
Re: A Sight to See
"I thought it was something like that," he said to Draylen, grabbing him around the waist to hold him close. "If you would just talk to him, maybe you could ask him to leave or something." He was examining the place Draylen said the ghost had disappeared, wondering if there was something different if there was a ghost in the room. "Don't worry Draylen," he told his younger boyfriend. He tilted the American's head up and gave him a small kiss, then got a little braver and gave him a deeper kiss. A last birthday present, of sorts.
Re: A Sight to See
Dray couldn't help but lean into Nathaniel lightly when he felt the arms around his waist. It was comforting, being held by his Nath. "But I don't want to talk to him" he muttered, shaking his head. "He scares me." He looked up to Nathaniel's eyes when his head was tilted up, giving a small smile at the kiss he was given, that was quickly turned into a deeper one. He gave a bit of a surprised moan, slipping his arms around Nath's neck, adding his own pressure to this kiss. This was the farthest he had gone with Nathaniel, and it was proving to be amazing already.
Re: A Sight to See
Once again, he felt that odd spark connecting them in their touches and kisses. He liked the rush that went through him, and he also liked the feeling of Draylen's lips to his own. This was already starting to get farther than he had with other partners in the past, he was impressed really. In a way, he was almost afraid to keep moving in the farther direction as he hadn't much of an idea what to expect, but he was excited, thrilled to be doing this with Draylen. The warm return of touch from Draylen was much welcomed, every movement between the two was another spark going off.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen was unused to the new spark between their movements, something he hadn' ever experienced with somebody else, even with how far he had gone with Alex. He pressed their bodied together lightly, just to get closer, but not wanting to seem too forward with it. He took this as a last birthday presant, not needing to be told to gather that much. He tilted his head to the side a bit for a better angle, knowing what he was doing a bit more than Nathaniel did.
