Jewel sat there listening to what had happen she gasped and wept at their stories. "Oh brothes if only I had been there" They both looked at her clearly they didn't know the extent of what she had done, she blushed and shrugged "You know I would protect you two" She sighed she had figured that her master would have told them what she had done. She guessed he hadn't and she didn't want to go into it she didn't want to let them know that their sister was a murderer.

"I am just happy that you two were able to stay together and that you two are alive, I worried so much about you guys" She hugged them again then at her brothers request popped their back, it was different then massaging she brought in Marla and showed her how to do it, and she in turn gave her some oils for Jason.

She shuddered when it was time for dinner, that meant that it was almost time to go. She bit her lip and barley ate through dinner, she had wondered if her Master would have noticed her hair, it held the natural curls now that and was shorter but looked neater and crisp, but she didn't even see her master look at her at all during the meal. She hated sitting on the ground like a dog, she found it hard on her neck to have to eat like this but she was rigid and that might have been a part of the problem.

When it was time to leave she bowed to her brothers who glanced at Jason. Jewel didn't see the interaction but suddenly she was being embraced by both of them. "I will tell father you are well dear brothers, I will miss you, I will see you soon" She looked out the window and waved until she couldn't see them any more. She then slid to the hard ground again looked to him. "Thank you again for freeing my brothers sir" She then petted Apllo and closed her eyes. She was really exhausted but it was just too stuffy and hot to sleep where they had been staying.

Apllo laid there on the floor of the carriage, content to have Jewel petting him. Jason smiled and put a hand in her hair. "Now that looks much better." he told her. "Is everything alright now between you and your brothers?" he asked. He hopped that they had some good long talks and that they may have gotten her to see that it was not her fault about Ruby. She needed to let go of that part of her past and accept who and what she was now.

They traveled for a few hours towards their destination and then Jason had William pull the carriage of the road and stop. With William's and Allan's help they set up the camp and made a fire. Blankets were spread out on the ground after some leaves and grass had been gathered to help make a somewhat softer place to sleep on. It was a clear night and the stars shone brightly above. After a light snack Jason took Jewel over to their bedding, as Apllo followed them and plunked himself down on the ground. He streached and then got comfortable.

"It has been a long day and you need to get some sleep, and I do mean sleep." he touched her face where the dark circles were.

Tensing as he touched her hair. “Oh so you did notice” She said. She didn’t have the bite that she wanted though. She was too tried. She nuzzled Apllo but visably stiffened then shuddered when he asked about her brothers. “Yes, we are okay, thank you for asking” She sighed. “Just also gave me more to worry about” She muttered hopefully not loud enough for him to hear.
She petted Apllo for most of the trip. She was stressing about her father. Even if they got to him in time she knew her father he would try to rescue her. Did she want to live her life on the run? She could be hunted done and killed if caught same with her father. It was too much to deal with. She looked up at him and sighed. Okay so he wasn’t that bad, he didn’t beat her, even though she had done a lot to deserve it, had freed her brothers, got justice for her sister. She just knew her father and he wouldn’t like her like this. To make matters worse she had lost their fathers knife. She had it when she had been captured.

“Master, when you bought me, did you get anything along with my file?” No answer came for they were now parking. She licked her lips; maybe soon someone would have the answer. She stepped out of the carriage and smiled. Finally she was going to be able to sleep in her comfort. She stretched and laughed as Apllo gave himself a dust bath. She sat by the fire still preoccupied with her thoughts. She barely ate and then followed him and laid down she stretched out then petted the big cat.

She turned her face to him. “Thank you for this” She winced as he touched her eyes. “I don’t sleep well inside, feel too trapped” She paused “So was there anything given to you with my file?” She doubted that he would even tell her if there was a knife she was a slave and not allowed weapons. She wondered if she should warn him about her father. She decided it would be best then he wouldn’t kill him if he attacked.

“My father is very protective of me, he will be even more protective now that he thinks I am the only child of his still alive, if possible can I talk to him before you do, I don’t want” She paused and looked down. “Either of you to come to harm” She knew either way it would mean the death of her father and likely her to. She didn’t want that .

She closed her eyes and awaited his answer. She was clearly more relaxed here though her body was more relaxed and her hands were not clenched.

Her brothers had taken her being a slave well, and seemed to have accepted it. Of course him freeing them probably had something to do with that. But her father was going to be something else. Some fathers accepted the fate of their daughters, some made as if their daughters were dead. But some tried to get them back and free them. The laws of the country only held within its boarders. There were other countries that did not have slavery as it was in Kardova. If a slave made it there then they would be protected from Kardovian law on slaves. But that was hard to do. Only a very few had succeeded in making it. The rest were caught and returned to their masters.

"Well we will have to see what happens when and if we meet up with him. If he managed to escape those sent to kill him and has managed to stay free since then, I have a feeling we will find him. Especially if it is made known that you are alive." he reached over her and scracthed Apllo behind one of his ears, before he settled down beside Jewel. He covered her with a blanket and then himself.

"We will find out in about three days when we reach your village." he chuckled. "There is no Inns on the way so you will have the pleasure of sleeping out under the stars." he kissed her cheek and laid back down getting comfortable.

Laying down she realized that he was not going to give an answer either he had it and wouldn't tell her or he didn't and didn't want to upset her just before bed. She licked her lips and listened to what he said. "Oh word will get around fast, if the old woman has anything to do with it, I mean my people need hope right, and to know that I am now owned by someone that seems decent will give them that hope" She sighed. "My father is hot tempered, guess I get that from him." She was half asleep. "I hope he is doing well, I ran the house, I mean it was my job being the eldest girl, and I am not sure he can do it without me" She had just spoken volumes, even before she had been a slave she had bascally had been one, it was just how they did things where she was from, she got the water, did the cleaning and the cooking. Then when war broke out she tended to the wounded and sick. Then when she had no one she fought, her whole life had been one of hardship and work.

She flinched as the blanket was put on her then sighed. "Well then I should be well rested by the time we get to my old home" She curled up on her side and quickly fell asleep her last thought was she only wished she could sleep in the trees.

The next three days was not to bad. He could not do to much with Jewel, due to having two other men around and of course Apllo inside the carriage with them. He made small talk mostly, and asked her about the people in her village and what they mainly did. Some villages were agraclutue, mainly farms. Some were mining villages where the mines were run by local owners and employed the people to mine what ever ore or mineral it was. There were those that supported a factory or a number of them. This kept them from being all in a city and making a mess of things there. Out in the countryside, structures could be built to deal with the waste water some produced.

When Apllo was out hunting and William and Allan were setting up camp for the night, he would enjoy the lovely body of Jewel as much as he could. She was hoping that she was accepting her new life and enjoying the feeling of his hands on her body as well as making love.

On the third day as they made camp, he opened up a large box on the top of the carriage and took out some women's clothing. It was not quite the length of a free woman's but came down to Jewels knees, was form fitting but did not expose as much of her tits as the slave garb did. Along with it was a pair of leather boots that came up to her knees. "For your time at your village." He told her as he handed them to her. Along with that was a soft hooded cloak. "Hope they fit. Was not quite sure of the size. We should arrive mid morning tommorow."

Sleeping outside did wonders for Jewel. She didn't look so pale, didn't have the dark circles under her eyes, she ate a tiny bit more then she had been. She did her stretches in the morning and even rubbed down her master. She talked to him and although it was clear she still didn't grasp the difference between what he was doing to her and what was done to her sister she didn't fight him. She allowed him to do and pretended to like it. She still felt the need to bath when he was done though. She just couldn't get it through her head that it was any different. She didn't like to be touched it just hurt, she couldn't explain it but to say that it felt like she was being shocked how to explain that to him?

On the third day she eyed the box that he held wondering what barbaick took was in there but gasped as he held out the dress. She looked at him and smiled. "Wow, I don't know what to say, thank you" She looked around seeing no one she stripped and then put it on. "How do I look?" She smiled slightly at him.

"Tommrow morning?" She looked like a caged animal. "We will be there tommrow?" She swallowed hard. "I see" She sat down. "I guess it would be good to make sure my father is still alive"

He smiled and looked her over. "It looks good on you. But don't get to use to it. This is for certain occasions. I enjoy looking at you in your other garb." Though she probably didn't like it, it was the traditional garb for a Pleasure Slave. Meant to make her feel exposed and vunerable, and let men see her.

The next morning they rolled into the village and Jason emerged from the carriage with Apllo right behind him. People stopped and stared and drew back as Apllo appeared. He then waited for Jewel to desend from the carriage. In the distance he could see the Village elders and the old woman from the trial moving towards them.

"Do not worry." he told her, "Relax. He might not even be there." Though it was the likely place he would be it would be the last place that most would think he would be. His government was not looking for him that he knew of and Gustoff thought him dead so he would not be looking for him. But on the odd chance one was most would think a person a fool to return home.

She nodded the frowned it was a little tighter and harder to move around in it. She felt more constricted she didn't like that she felt trapped. She wouldn't admit that to him though. When it was time to lay down she leaned against Apllo whispering. "I am so nervous Apllo, if my father is alive he isn't going to like me being a slave he isn't going to stand for it. but if he takes off with me he could be killed but I know if I go with master, father could think of me as dead." Apllo licked her face and she snuggled into him and feel into a restless sleep.

In the morning when they reached the town she took a deep breath and stepped out. She looked around, she frowned. Not much had changed. "Master I thought you said you had given money to help rebuild my old town, it looks no different then when I left" She stiffed as she noticed the village elders and the old woman. "Well if anyone doubted me being alive, they wont now."

She listed to his words. 'My father is no fool sir" She snarled at him then keeping her stiffness about her looked around.

A little girl came running up to her she had seen Apllo but he didn't seem to scare the little girl"Jewel?" Jewel entire persona changed she knelt down and scopped the little girl up. "Rachael hunni how are you?" She kissed the little girls head. The little girl smiled. "Better now, you remember before" The little girl trailed off. "Yes I remembered you had the measles you seem all better now" The little girl nodded. "Huh, but I guess you are wanting you kitty back?"

Jewel shook her head and put her down. "No you keep her, you see this big kitty here his name is Apllo and he is very jealous and he wouldn't like another cat so can you keep Diamond and give her lots of love?" The little girl beemed up. Then seeing Jason froze and began to shake and hide behind Jewel. Jewel glanced up and then took the girl in her arms. It took some coxing but finally the little girl said what was troubling her.

"Gastoff said that he is coming to take all us girls and sell us, he wont do that will he Jewels?"

Jewel looked up at Jason she would only belive it coming from him would he take time to comfort this young child. It was clear that she was hungry, that everyone was hungry and many were sick would he care about her old home? Or be too concered about finding Gustoff?

"No I said that we were on our way to a differnt village that was being rebuilt, that yours was on the way there. But I see that this one also needs help." he shook his head. The war seemed to have spared no one. "I will send word back to my banker to send out a detail to survey the village and see what is needed."

When the little girl came running up, he grinned. She showed no fear as the adults did with Apllo and the big loveable cat senced that as well. As Jewel held the little girl in her arms Apllo licked the girls legs. But she seemed terrified of Jason. When she told Jewel why, Jason gently turned the girls face towards him. "Gustoff will be doing no such thing here or anywhere else. The only thing he is going to be doing is going to Jail, and the headsman's ax." His voice was gentle and soft. "So have no fear little one.

It was then that the village elders and the old woman arrived."This is the man I told you about." the old woman told the others.

One of the elders, an old man spoke, "We have been told of what you have done for Ruby." he looked over at Jewel, "I am, we all are deeply sorry for your loss." he put a hand on Jewels shoulder. Then he turned to Jason once more. "Gustoff has sent men here to gather most of our food that we have grown, and raised. He says it is a tax on our village. Is that true?"

Jason's eyes narrowed and seemed to smolder. "No it is not!" he said. Again Gustoff had made a big mistake. He figured the villagers would be to afraid to say anything and would get away with it. "Are these men still here?"

"Yes sir they are, They have gathered everything and are waiting for Gustoff to arrive before moving on to the next village." the old man said.

Jason nodded. "Apllo." he called the cat's name and he looked up at Jason. "You come with me my friend." Then he turned to William and Allan, "You two come with me as well." He went back to the carriage and buckled on his sword, and made sure his pistols were loaded and primed. Then turning to the elder, "Take me to them."

The old man lead him to a barn where a half dozen men stood before the door. William, Allan and Apllo flanked Jason as they approached. The men drew their swords at their approach and demanded Jason and the others to halt. But Jason kept moving forward, with made them nervous.

"Throw down your weapons now and you may live to go to trial for unlawful siesure of private goods and inpersonating tax clollectors." His voice was authoritative and made the men look at each other, and hesitate. Jason moved up quickly and struck the sword from what looked to be their leader, and pointed the tip of his sword at the man's throat.

A roar from Apllo and his approach made the others quickly drop their swords and move back. Jason looked at William and Allan, "Tie the up and secure them some where." he then turned to the elder. "Have your people come and get what was taken from them. Ensure that all have plenty of food to eat." the old man smiled and turned to those that had followed them and nodded. The doors of the barn were opened and the wagons full of food, livestock and the like were pulled out and back into the village.

Rachael looked up at him. "He said that you were coming to take all of us away" Rachael recoiled slightly as Jason touched her. Jewel held her. "Its okay sweetie he wont hurt you, I have been with him for awhile and do you think I would be with him if he hurt me?" Rachael shook her head. "No" Little Rachael looked up at Jason. "You mean it he will be put in jail, he scares us all, he stoled all our food" Jewel had kept a bit of the meager lunch they had and pulled out some hard cheese and crusty bread and gave it to the little girl. "Here" Rachael ate a little then looked up at her. "Kitty and Nicki will need some"

She looked up at Jason. "Nicki is my baby brother, he is really sick" When Jason left he hadn't told her to come with him so she followed Rachael to the house. She bit her lip to stop the tears. Nicki was laying on the bed barely breathing. Jewel lifted his head up so he could breath. He would have to see if Jason had anything for this.

"I will be right back okay?" She kissed each child's head, the grandma of the town was watching these two kids so she went looking for him. She stepped out and began walking towards the barn. Suddenly she heard her name being shouted she heard her name being called she turned to it wondering who would be calling it.

Once the villagers were taken care of, Jason began looking for Jewel. He asked a couple of the villagers and they told him which house she went to. He went to the house but she was not there, but a sick little boy was. He ran back to the carriage and removed another box from the top of the carriage and hurried back to the house, stopping to pick up some fruit and other things.

The old lady was there tending to the boy and sat the box down and put the food on the table. He looked at the little girl, "Think you can cut up the vegetables and get them ready to be cooked over the fire?" he smiled down at her as she went about preparing the pot of water and then began cutting the vegtables up. Jason opened the box and showed the contents to the old woman. "Take what you need for the boy and add the contents of this box to the list of things needed for the village. He then went back to the carriage and brought back some of their dried meat to add to the vegtables.

The voice Jewel heard was that of her father. He motioned for her to come to the house he was peering out of.

The little boy tried to hide when Jason came in but the old lady held him. "Its alright he is a good one" The boy looked up at him and coughed. "It hurts sir" When he left the boy began to cry. "He lefted cause I am dying didn't he?" Before the old woman could answer he was back.

The little girl grinned glad to be a help. "Yep" She walked over and did all that needed to be done. She was clearly worried about her brother though.

The old woman nodded slowly "I haven't seen anything like this before, it isn't plague, or sweating sickness, no spots and he isn't swelling just a bad cough like a seals bark and a fever. ((ooc whopping cough)) what could it be?"

Jewel turned to the voice and broke into a huge smile. She saw a young boy walking by and called him over. "You know the man I rode it with, can you tell him I am in that house" She pointed to a door then took off and ran into her fathers arms. She had taken a risk telling the little boy, but she couldn't sentence her father to death. She held him and checked him over. "Father you are alive, I have good news your sons are alive too"

"I have seen this during the war." he told the old lady. He picked up one glass container after another till he found what he wanted. "Here give this to him. A teaspoon every four hours." He had seen his unit's doctor treat some people with it. He had called it The Cough and had said it could lead to death if not treated.

Once that was done and the old lady administered the dosage the boy seemed to settle down some. He took out another and said, "This will help him sleep. Sleep helps heal." He gave the boy a sip of the medicine and a few minutes later he was asleep. Then he got up and helped the little girl finish preparing the food. "Now I want you to make sure you eat good and that when your brother wakes up to make sure he eats. Ok." he smiled down at the girl.

"Now where has Jewel gotten off to?" he wondered, and excused himself to go look for her. Meanwhile Jewel's father pulled her to him and hugged her tightly. When she told him the boys were alive his eyes went wide and he fell to his knees looking up at the ceiling. "Thank the heavens." hes just said and closed his eyes for a moment. Then he was back on his feet hugging Jewel again. He saw the collar and said, "Well first we are going to get rid of this." and looked around for something that might break the metal it was made of. "Now tell me where are they and how are they? When did you last see them?"

The old woman paled but then nodded to the orders. "Okay thank you so much I am forever in your debt even more now, for Ruby, Jewel and now Nicki and Rachael" The little girl nodded about the eating. She ate up then cuddled up to her brother and fell asleep. The old woman looked at them both and sighed in realive. She sat down and rocked and knitted it was the first time in months that she had been relaxed enough to knit.

Jewel hugged her father and wept. When he saw the collar it was her chance to run away, but thoughts of her brothers stopped her. "Father listen to me, Jason, my master is one of the good ones, he got Ruby's attackers exucted, allowed me to testify in court, he hasn't beaten me, has fed me, and even gave me medical care, he found your sons and raised up to be leaders in the mines. He saved them, at least meet him before you think of anything, I can not go with you" She fell to her eyes infront of him "It will mean your death if we are caught, I can not been responsible for another family members death"

Meanwhile the little girl that Jewel had told walked up to Jason a bit timidily but when she saw Apllo she looked up at him. "You must be a good one, the animal wouldn't be staying so close to you if you be bad, Jewel wants me to tell you that she be in that house" She pointed. "You really here to help?"

When he went to look for Jewel, he wondered if there were more like the little boy. It was more then likely. When another little girl came up and told him where Jewel was he smiled and squatted down and thanked her. "Now you go on over there with the others and get some good food in you." He patted her head and stood up and walked back to the house where the old lady was. "Can you make sure that all the children here are checked out. While that medicene box is here, I want any one sick treated."

He then left and went to the house that he had been told Jewel was in. He was expecting her to be talking to some friends or people she knew. But he heard a mans voice and it seemed that Jewel was arguing with him. He was wanting her to run away and she was telling him no.

He opened the door and stepped in. The man turned to him a large knife appearing in his hand. He pushed Jewel behind him. Jason's hand automaticly moved toward his sword, but he stopped himself. He shut the door and moved forward abit.

He looked at the firghtened Jewel. "Ah I take it that this is your father." he said to her and pulled a chair up and sat down on it, straddling it and placing his arms on the back of it. "You have not broken any laws that I know of, so far, so lets keep it that way, shall we." he nodded to the knife.

"You will not have my daughter as a slave." The man said sternly.

"But she already is." he told the man in a calm voice. "As per agreement with your former government officials that surrendered your country to mine, she among others were turned over to be slaves."

Jason could see that the man wanted to run the knife he had through him. But it seemed he was conflicted by other things. Finally the man sat down and placed the knife on the table. He looked at Jason hard. "Jewel has told me what you did to avenge my other daughter's murder, and that you have freed my to sons and have them running one of your mines. For that I owe you much. But my daughter here........ He looked up at her.

"She is fine and not ill treated. She is still your daughter and like her bothers you can come and visit if you like." Jason told him. "Your sons have accepted the fact of what she is and still love her." There came a scratching at the door. Apllo wanted in. One could tell that her father was quite at odds with himself.

He looked at Jewel. "You are sure you want to stay with this man?" he asked her. "As his slave?"

The little girls face light up. "You mean it, maybe they still have my lamb" She took off to where everyone else was. She turned and waved at Jason. Word had traveled fast, they all seemed to know that Jewel wouldn't stay with anyone mean so they all knew that Jason was a good one. The old woman had nodded. "Bless you good sir"

Jewel was still trying to convince her father that she had to stay. It was breaking her heart. She couldn't convince her father that he was a good one. When the door opened and she was suddenly behind her father she couldn't belive what was happening. They were going to kill each other. It seemed that Jason had seen the fear in her eyes and backed off. She sunk to her knees with her head bent. She listened to their conversation. When it turned to being about her she stood and walked inbetween them so they would have to kill her before they got to each other.

"Father I will always love you and I will always be your daughter" She turned to Jason then back to her father. "but he is right, I am his slave, he is a good man, he treats me well, even took me to a doctor" She looked to her dad with tears. "Please don't disown me, I cant run for the rest of my life, I ran during the way and that was just too much, you understand right?"

She sighed. "Apllo wants in" She went to the door and let the Tiger in who seeing her tears seemed to whimper and kiss her face. He then nudged her towards Jason and Jewel knowing she couldn't sit on the couch sat on the ground cuddling the big cat. "See dad he even rescued this tiger"

"Disown you? Never say that again. What kind of father do you take me for?" he said to Jewel. "You are my daughter. You have so much of your mother in you." he looked at her with sad eyes. He then looked at Jason. "It seems my daughter has made her decision on the mater." He stood and moved back quickly as Jewel opened the door and let Apllor in.

"He won't hurt you." Jason said. "Only those that threaten myself and now Jewel will feel his fangs and claws." He reached over and petted his friend. "Now on to another matter Sir." Jason looked hard at her father. "You WILL NOT kill Gustoff!" he told him. "I intend to bring him back to stand trial for your daughter's murder, and for the unauthorized taxing of those under his governorship. I have long waited for him to slip up so that he will feel the headsman's ax. If you kill him, you will be charged with murder and I would not like that."

Her father looked at him with eyes that told volumes. "How ever a good beating, non life threatening, I think would be seen as a mere disturbance of the peace, subject to a fine." Jason said with a grin. That made Jewel's father smile as well.

Jewel was trying to stop the tears from flowing. She had just kissed any chance of freedom away. For the rest of her life she wouldn't be anything but a slave. She sighed. She had sacrificed her freedom for her family. She knew that they could come and visit but the collar would always be around her neck. She couldn't do anything but obey orders for the rest of her life now. She would never be loved, never treasured, never hold a baby in her arms. She no longer owned her body. She couldn't even sit in chairs anymore, she did all this for her family, she sighed and leaned into Apllo. She didn't even raise her head at her fathers comment. She wanted to scream 'NO TAKE ME' but she just remained silent. She licked her lips and shuddered.

She brought her head up when the talk began to switch to Gustoff. She tensed. Gustoff was going to be traveling with them. Did she just sign her death warrant but staying with Jason. She watched them both. Then smiled. A beating would be good. She was mute though. She looked completely defeated. She was hungry and tired but she was also confused. Why did she not just go with her father, would Jason really punished her brothers for her behavior she didn't know but she didn't want to risk it.

Apllo hearing Jewels stomach made a strange growl at Jason and nuzzled Jewel. She just laughed. "Apllo I am fine let the men talk" Apllo sneezed at her as if to say "Yeah right" She looked to her father. "Father how did you survive the war, Gustoff sent people to kill you and the boys"

It seemed that Jason had talked a bit of sense into her father. But He still was going to keep an eye on him when Gustoff arrived. Gustoff was going to have a very rude awakening when he arrived. He had thought on the matter a bit and had come up with a plan to have him basicly confess everything with out realizing what he was doing.

Jewel's father looked at her when she asked how he had survived the war and Gustoff's assassins. "I was waiting with a couple of my group for your brother's return. They were heading back to the farm to check up on the two of you. As I waited I went down to the river to clean up. I hadn't taken a bath in over a month and my skin felt like it was crawling with vermin. George and Jacob was at the camp site. George ...... he looked alot like me, I would have sworn he was related to me somehow. I heard horses and peaked from behind some bushes by the river bank. I saw the soldiers ride in hard and kill George and Jacob, and then ride off towards the farm. By the time I got dressed, and found my horse and got to the farm it was to late." he hung his head down, tears begining to flow.

"Come on you two, lets go get something to eat. I think we made enough at the little girls house to feed the three of us." He got up as did Jewel's father. Apllo streached and rose as well.

The little boy was still sleeping when they arrived, as was the little girl. The old lady got up from her knitting and served them up some food. Apllo however went off in search of his own. "Now lets eat." he said making sure there was enough for the boy, little girl and the old woman.

"Doctor Wayne was told of your coming and about the box of medicines your brought. He is now at the village hall treating people. He said he never saw such a collection of medicine except at a hospital or the medical collage." the old woman told him.

"Well make sure he puts it down on the list of things this village requires. In the morning I will have it and instructions to my people in the city taken by one of your people. He can use my horse." Jason's horse had been tied to the carriage at the rear, in case he need it. Now he was with the carriage's horses in the stable.

Sitting there on the floor Jewel was beginning to get angry again. She didn't like acting like this, it was her, but she knew she had to be like this, if she showed any resistance her father would see that and run with her. She wanted nothing more then that. She wanted to be free to be able to use her bow and arrow again. To be able to ride a horse to be able to have the blasted thing off her neck. But if they were ever caught her father would be put to death and she could be resold. It was too much danger.

Hearing what her father said she gasped and her own tears started. "You came to the house? You mean if I hadn't taken off, I could have seen you again" Without getting permission she crawled to her father and hugged him. Even with her father she was stiff in the hug, just as she had been with her brothers. "Father I am sorry, I went to fight after what happened to Ruby. I had been fighting before, I left her alone, I shouldn't have" She cried with her father. . She pulled away from Jason as he reached for her. "I can stand on my own thank you" She glared at him then followed them. Her eyes still sore she clenched her fists as they walked.

She smiled at the sleeping children but then sighed as Apllo left. She took her food glared as she took her place on the floor. She only picked at her food though. Her thoughts were on Gustoff she wanted to gut the man himself or at least cut off his member and feed it to him. She mumbled that and her father gasped at her. "What"

Jewel shrugged. "Its what I would do if I had a chance" She looked up at Jason she had given him pretty much the same threat with him and his male servant when he tried to touch her. Her father looked at Jason "Glad to see my daughter hasn't lost her fire, her innocence yes, but guess we all did in the blasted war"

Jason grinned at what Jewel wanted to do to Gustoff. Well now it was something to think about. He looked at her father and said. "She wanted the men drawn and quartered before being beheaded, and that is what they got.   A bit more then what they were expecting. Perhaps it will come true for Gustoff, of what she wants done to him."

After eating Jason relaxed and bid Jewel to do the same. "If you wish you can go lay down and sleep. He pointed to another bed beyond the children. "Or would you prefer the floor since beds are not your favorite sleeping place." Again he looked at her father, "She doesn't like beds it seems."

"To much time out on her own." he said, "I have found it a bit hard myself after sleeping on the ground so much, but I have come to find that I like them again."

A bit later Apllo nudged the door open and entered.   He went and laid down by the fire place and streached out, looking over at everyone. He pawed his face with one large paw and licked his paws some more.

Sitting there on the ground she shifted her muscles were hurting her they felt stiff and sore. Her father raised an eyebrow but Jewel quickly shook her head. She didn’t want him to alert Jason of her discomfort she didn’t want to be touched by him. She rolled her eyes when Jason told her to get comfortable. She was sitting on the floor with the bugs getting comfortable was not an option but she attempted to stretch out and get comfortable.

She growled when Jason directed her to the beds. “I’d rather not” She looked at her father. I doubt I will ever be comfortable on a bed, I much rather sleep in a tree outside with the stars as my blanket, I feel to caged in here. She rose and kissed her father on the cheek good night then turned to Jason, made as she was going to kiss him then suddenly froze and shook her head. “Good night sir” She whispered then checked on the sleeping children. She sighed as a tear fell down her cheek she pulled up their blankets and kissed them each on the forehead. “sweet dreams” She then went over to the bed sat down then slid to the ground, here were stones so they were even colder. She sighed and keeping an eye on the men she laid down.

When Apllo came in she snuggled into them. Her father smiled “She never feared an animals, there was a wolf once that brought her cub to her when he was injured, my daughter had something special, I am ashamed to say she never had a childhood, she always had to take care of the house. Then the war came, I cant believe that my daughter fought in the war”
He looked at him. “I do believe the only reason my daughter chose to go with you is that she knows if she runs and is caught I will be put to death, she is always looking out for others” He rubbed his nose. “So my sons are alive?”

He watched as Jewel withered and whimpered he stood and walked to a cuboard and pulled up a jar. “She wont be liking this, but you might need to rub this on her joints, she has the same condition as her sister did, her muscles sometimes seize up and she hurts” He bowed to him. “I must give my thanks for all you have done, even if I don’t like it all” He looked at his daughter and the tears welled up again. “You treat her right, even though you can do whatever you want to her, she has had a hard life” He licked his lips and sat down in his chair again and looked to Jason. "So where were you heading when you stopped here?"

Jason watched Jewel slide to the floor by the fire and next to Apllo. He shook his head and turned back to her father. "Oh yes from the documents I received on her, she was quite the hell cat, and you should have seen what she did to the guards at the slave pens." he chuckled. "She is deifnately a fighter and more." When asked about his sons, "Yes they are alive and well. They are helping the manager of one of my mines run it. The paperwork and all for their pardons and employment have already been sent to the capital."

"As for where we were going before stopping here, it is another village much like this one that was hard hit during the war. A few of us that have the means to do something decided to help out and rebuild some, help the people get back on their feet, a sign of good will. The blasted war tore up much in your former country. Now I have added this village to my endevors to show the people that Kardovia is not evil. Though I have been seeing a bit of corruption in places." This made him angry. Gustoff doing what he had been, and the mess at the mine. What else and where else was there the same.

He sat there talking with him for awhile. The little boy woke up and the old woman gave him some more medicine and then had him eat before he went back to sleep. "Where are their parrents?" he asked the old woman.

She shugged her shoulders. "Gone, dead, no one really knows." He nodded and shook his head. Again the blasted war had made more misery.

Hearing the facts from Jason her father raised a brow and laughed. "Yep that sounds like my girl, she is a fireball I would like to see what she did to the guards" He paused "Not to mean any disrespect I just like to hear that my daughter did not go down without a fight." He shook his head. "I have a feeling she has caused you issues too, but if someone else was at risk she would put herself in harms way. She would have for Ruby too but guess they wanted someone younger."

He smiled at the news of his sons. "Well that is good for them, I hope one day to see them soon too, but as you know I am a hunted man" He frowned as the little boy woke and then settle down. He looked up at Jason. "No one is innocent any more" He turned and looked at his daughter. "She is strong, but she doesn't know how to depend on anyone, as soon as her mother died she took over everything" He pushed the ointment over again. "When you see her shifting like that she needs that"

He leaned back. "So how did you come by my daughter?"
