He still smelt the smoke... he tried to keep his mind clear as the fire was spreading quickly. Daniel was still not fully used to his enhanced senses, and the smoke choked him... he couldn't smell anything but the fire. It made him a bit confused, scared. He continued to run, holding on to his human memories... he needed to find a way out.

[Tierra]

lith turned the pack away from the fire towards the temple "It will take us longer now our path is blocked" she said as they ran.

[Chaosmazer]

"I'm sorry love..." he said. Knowing it wasn't his fault... he felt responsible... he should have found a way to keep them going faster... to help the pack... "Still... we must get there as quickly as we can... is everyone alright?" he asked.

[Tierra]

"Daniel... It will take two days to cross the river." with that Lith shivered. "We would normally avoid it but fire and ice seem to be at us from all angles" she said. She wished they stayed longer or left early. "Once we are at the river we change and go as man for a bit" she said.

[Chaosmazer]

"Right..." Daniel said understanding. "Lith... I have never been afraid of fire before... at least not like that. I felt panicked..." he said still running towards the river. He had calmed himself down... but still, he thought of the flames...

[Tierra]

"As wolves we are taught and naturally fear Fire and Ice. Crossing the river might be harder then I think." she sighed. "It's ok my love. The feeling is natural" she said.

[Chaosmazer]

"Yes... but the flames... hopefully they wont be able to make it to the other side of the river..." he said. "It is natural... but still... I feel..." he was breathing heavily. "I'm sorry..." he said.

[Tierra]

"They wont. I'm sure." she said. "Don't say sorry you've done nothing wrong" she said. "We will get around the fire don't worry "

Daniel still couldn't help but feel responsible... but she was right... he stopped worrying right now... "Alright... we get across the river... we will be fine." he said. He was calming himself down. He just felt stressed, he knew that they had to make good time... but this fire... he regained control of himself.

[Tierra]

They reached the river and they all shuddered, it was high after rains. The only crossing was a few rocks. "Shit" she cursed "We have to cross, I'm not sure how strong the fire is... It could come this way" she said. She picked up a rock and tossed it onto a stepping stone. "I don't think this is a good idea".

[Chaosmazer]

Daniel looked at the river... it seemed strong... and the crossing wasn't looking like it would be the best idea. He sighed looking back into the forest. He needed to keep a cool head. He couldn't think well while panicked. He started thinking... if they would jump, they might be washed away... but if they stay, they would be burned to death in the fire...

[Tierra]

"Daniel my love..." she said putting a hand on his shoulder. "This is the only way. I fear water more than fire but we must cross" she said.

[Chaosmazer]

Daniel calmed his nerves. "Alright... we can do this... I'll go first, see if it is safe then... I'll find a good path for the rest." he said. He kissed Lith. "I'll be alright... I promise." he said. He moved over to the river side... He prepared himself to make the first jump

[Tierra]

"No. I can't let you do that" she said taking his arm. She kissed him "Daniel don't" she said moving to his side her eyes showed what she was saying. She didn't want him to risk it.

[Chaosmazer]

Daniel looked down at her, into her eyes. "I have to..." he said. "I can't risk anyone else to go... I can't ask anyone to go... you can't... if I lose you..." he stopped. "Lith... I have to do this... trust me." he said looking down at her.

[Tierra]

"No... Daniel please" she whispered. "We can get around this" she said. "Let me go first please. I'm lighter and in more control of my wolf. Let me go in that form" she said almost pleading.

[Chaosmazer]

Daniel shook his head. "No... you are carrying pups... What... what kind of a father will I be if I make you go before me..." he said. "I'll find a good way... a way that will be the safest. If... I get washed in I am a good swimmer." He said trying to convince her that it would be best if he went. "Please love... time is of the essence..." he said.

[Tierra]

She reluctantly let him go. "You fall and I'll kick your ass" she said shaking a little. "Wolves mate for life you know" she said stepping back to give him some room.

[Chaosmazer]

"I know love..." he said. He laughed a bit, part from nerves... He looked ahead... finding a rock to jump to he took a short dash then he was airborne. Landing, he managed to regain his balance... this rock was good... no worries there. His human form not as quick as his wolf... but he was more stable and used to it. He seen another one not too far off. It was another easy jump. He made it with little problems. After a few more difficult jumps he seen how close he was. It wasn't that hard so far... he looked back and seen Lith and the rest of the pack. He had found a safe path so far... a possible path. He seen another rock up ahead... he jumped but suddenly it slid! He fought to regain his footing. It continued to slide, a large rock. He fell into the water, but his arm lashed out and grabbed onto the large stone... it wasn't sliding anymore, it was completely settled. He pulled himself out of the water and up onto the rock. It was now secure and an easy jump... He took one more jump to the opposite shore. "Come on! It is safe!" he yelled across.

[Tierra]

Lith closed her eyes tight as he took his first jump, when she opened them slowly she saw him standing firm on a rock. Lith smiled seeing him get across though she couldn't hide her fear. "Daniel..." she yelled as he slipped across a rock. Her eyes widened with shock as he fell into the fast flowing water. Lith almost fainted when she saw his grab hold of a rock and pull himself back up. Lith was nervous about the crossing but she trusted Daniel. She jumped onto the first rock with no problems. "Come it's safe" she said to the pack as she kept jumping to get to Daniel.

[Chaosmazer]

Daniel watched as the jumped... he didn't know what would happen. He waited, watched... if his love fell in, he would dive in after her. Anything to save her... the path was safe as far as he knew. The rock that slid was settled... he just hoped that everyone's footing would hold out.

[Tierra]

Lith jumped now only two rocks stood between her and Daniel. The pack followed in her wake, one lost his footing and slipped taking a hold of Lith's shoulder and dragging her down also. She clawed at the rock as her and one other fell into the water. Fear gripped her as she clawed at the rock, the man crawling over her in fear.

[Chaosmazer]

Daniel watched... he was nervous... he didn't want to lose anybody. The first jump, he held his breath... worried sick about her. When the one behind her slipped he looked worried, hopping that he would be alright, he couldn't spare anyone in the pack. Suddenly when he grabbed Lith about dragging her down in fear. Daniel didn't think twice he jumped onto the rock... hopping to reach them before anything bad happened.

[Tierra]

Lith let one arm go to try help the fallen man behind her. Her held her arm as she struggled to hold onto the rock. Her wet clothes were heavy as she fought the waters grasp. She held on but her fingers were starting to slip.

[Chaosmazer]

Daniel reached the rock and seen that she was starting to slip... he then reached down, grabbing her arm, her wrist. Starting to pull her up. He offered his other hand to the other pack member in the river. Fear clawed at his neck... he couldn't bare to see anyone get washed away... especially Lith.
