Treavors moved forward again and called down to the crew. "Raise every scrap of sail we have lads. We have company on our arses and they seem to want to catch up to us. We'll give them a merry chase." The men scrambled to comply with his orders. More sail was raised and the wind caught it and the Raven lurched forward the sea spraying over the bow.

Below Marla knew what the sudden lurch was and ran up on deck to her master. "Your pardon master." she said to Garth and she took the spyglass and went back to the aft railing. She brought it up and looked at the ship. She came back a black look on her face, anger in her eyes. "Tis the Scarlet Witch. I'll remember that ship the rest of my life. Treavors looked at Marla then at Garth. "The worst of the worst. Best prepare yourself for battle. The Scarlet Witch is a fast ship and may be a match for the Raven." Garth nodded and headed down to get Jordan and put her in their cabin.

"They will be upon us long before we reach a safe port. You had best get some rest for when the battle be joined there be no rest for any till we are dead."

Jordan watched Marla pace and could see the anger in ther face and everything. Perhaps down there you can hide from the pirates until they dock and then slip off the ship." It was a possibility, but not a very good one. But at least they would be alright and out of harms way.

Jordan did her best to comfort Marla but Jordan herself was terified at what was going to happen in the pirate ship caught up to them. Marla followed as Garth lead the way. In the hold under nets made of thick ropes lay wooden boxes of various sizes. The boxes were stacked, from floor to ceiling. But here and there were little nitches that could hide a person. He found such a nitch for the two and helped them into it. "I will bring you food and water to last you for a few days." Mostly apples, dried beef and cheese. Stuff that would not spoil for awhile. He left them there and returned a short time later with a cloth sack filled with food and a small keg of water.

As the Pirate ship closed and began to manuver into position to come along side, the Captain gave the word and the Raven turned, coming along the opposite side that the ship was trying to board on. As they came abreast, the cannoners let loose with a broadside. The side of the pirate ship exploded in flying pieces of wood. Some of the pirates were hit by flying shardes and a couple were killed. The sharpshooters took aim and fired at the pirates on the deck. A Few more went down. The cannons on the Raven, A merchant ship was not something the pirates had counted on. Garth had his ships armed with the best cannons that could be bought.

He smiled as he heard the curses and screams from the other ship. But the pirates were not frightened nor their resolve dimmed.

To find her the pirates would actually have to be looking for them and she hoped that the pirates would be to stupid to think about how there should be pleasure slaves on the ship. But if they did find her she would fight them with everything that she had. And if they took her she would escape and find her way back to Garth. He had said that he loved her. And that was enough in her mind to give her a fire and a spirt. If the priates did take her she would make them regreat it with ever bone in their body.

As she ship begain to rumble she knew what was happening she breathed shallowly listenting for cues to what was happening on the ship deck. She heard screams and closed her eyes tight. She wanted Garth to be safe. He was her first master that hadnt treated her as such. She needed him to be okay, he was the only thing that had kept her alive. And if she lost that she would kill every man that caused him harm. She didnt care what happened to her.

She wanted to call to Marla but didnt want to risk attention being brought to them. She would remain silent until it was safe. Or they were found. She hoped this would all be over shortly and she would be in the hands of Garth again. Would she ever feel his arms again? She silently shock her head against such thoughts she would have to have a clear head. She bit her bottom lip and waited.

The pirates fired back and some of the Raven's crew fell, wounded and dead. The battle went on. Each ship trying to vye for postion. Riflemen fired trying to pick off targets. But eventually the ships came together and the real battle began. Grapling hooks were thrown and men began swinging from one ship to the other. The battle was fought on both ships, now man to man.

Garth drew his sword and with the rest of the crew attacked the pirates trying to board the Raven. The sound of steel on steel rang and here and there the sound of a pistol going off. Soon the deck ran red with blood and was littered with bodies of the Raven crew and that of the Pirates. But there were more of them then the Crew of the Raven. Before long Captain Trevor, Garth and a few of the crew were surrounded and disarmed.

Captain Greybeard came forward then and looked them over. His eyes grew wide a bit as he looked Garth over. "Shall we slit their thoats now Captain and thow them overboard." One of the pirates asked.

"No." Greybeard said. "They fought bravely and with cunning. Lower a boat and put them in it with enough food and water to get them to the nearst port." The boat was lowered and they were put into it with supplies. Greybeard looked down at Garth and then gave orders to get the ships under way.

Jordan felt the ship waver and explosions and she knew that the full attack was on she stopped herself from trembling. She had to be strong. Garth would except it from her. She remained hidden in her hole but didnt dare touch the food or the water she didnt know how long it would be hidding here. She would remain here until she was found or rescued. And there was no telling how long that would be.

The next sounds set her into dread though they had been borded she burried her head in her arms trying to make herself even smaller. She straned to listen...something was happening. She could hear muffled talking but couldnt hear the words. Then she heard a boat lowering and she feared the worse, her Garth had lost and she was now at the mercies of the pirtates...would Garth hold true? Would he find her if the worse happened?

Garth watched as the Raven sailed away. "Where will they make for?" he asked Captain Treavor.

"Port Orin." Tis a small island and a Pirate hold. Protected on one side by reefs that would tear the hull out of a ship and sheer cliffs that prevent any small boats from landing. The other side is protected by an array of cannons that would blow any ship out of the water."

"Then that is where we are going." Garth said. He was not about to let one of his ships be taken and its cargo. Also there was a more precious cargo aboard. One he ment to get back. The sailors took to the oars and began rowing and also rigged the single sail and mast.

"What be your plan sir." Captain Treavor asked.

"I think this boat is small enough so as not to be noticed by the pirates, especially at night. Ships have a large siloulte, we do not. We land on the island, make our way to the port and if things are as I hope, the pirates will be drunk most of the time. Also repairs will be made to the ships. A ship sailing out of the port will not be uncommon and we should have no problem as long as no alarm is raised. I intend to get the Raven back and Jordan and Marla. If they have been found and taken I will find them and free them."

On board the Raven Greybeard looked the ship over. He then went below to check on the cargo. Marla saw him and her anger grew. She pulled out a sharp knife she had taken from the captains quarters. As he neared she leaped out at him slicing his arm, drawing blood. But he was an experienced seaman and fighter and soon had Marla disarmed and held with her hands pinned behind her. "Well, well look who we have here. I see you still have alot of fight in you." he laughed. Then he looked around and called out for more of his crew to come down. "Search every little nook and cranny down here. If there be one lovely little slave girl there might be more."

Jordan heard people walking around. She closed her eyes and wished that the foot steps she heard coming down the stairs belonged to Garth or even to the Captain. She wanted to see anyone except for the priates. She feared them and what would happen if they found her. She didnt want to be used again. Her heart sank when she opened her eyes and saw the Pirate captain. Knowing what he had done to Marla's family she turned to try and stop Marla from giving away their postion but she was too late Marla attacked the pirate but was unsuccessful then the Pirtate order people to look around. Jordan was well hidden but she knew it would only be so long before she was found she quickly but quitley stored the food in a hiden poket in ther dress. She watched the crew take apart the cargo hold they were getting closer to her but she still was really hidden she hoped they would give up before they found her.
