Re: All In The Game
"Battle Stations." Krell hit the comm button on his command chair. "He grinned at Serenity. "I'll be there." He told Serenity. As the two ships moved into the system he could almost hear the imperial conversations. Two unknown ships were entering the system, smaller then a cruiser but unidentified design and register signature. The imperial captain of the cruiser probably thought it would be easy pickings as he moved towards the two ships.
"Unidentified ships. You will power down your engines now and prepare to be boarded and inspected." came a mans voice over the speaker.
Krell chuckled. "Imperial Cruiser, this is Captain Krell of the Raven and at her side is Captain Serenity of the Phoenix. Surrender now and save the lives of all that is aboard."
The Imperial Captain almost shit his pants at the names. Both Krell and Serenity sent chills down the spines of imperials when they heard them. He had never seen the Raven nor had been informed of what it looked like. The system he was in was out of the normal routes the Raven ran. He had heard of what the Raven could do, had heard of how three of their cruisers had been blasted to pieces. Now there was a second ship just like the Raven and both were approaching him.
He swallowed hard, "All weapons prepare to fire."
"He is powering up weapons." Jenkins told Krell
"He is all yours Serenity." Krell radioed her.

Serenity grinned back and nodded, "Hydro packs and coffee for dinner, maybe some brandy for later." She heard him then shout for battle stations and she cut the comm link, opening her own through the ship. "Boots on fellas!" She called just as the cruiser came into view. She heard the order to power down, but she would hardly do that now, would she. Hearing the retort from Krell made her smile and she watched her consol light up as the various systems came online. She didn't need to give orders for that. "Ready to rattle some bollocks?" She asked her Dogs.
"Abso-fucking-lutely!" Mac sounded back.
Serenity couldn't help but lift an eyebrow in shock. Mac never swore. "OK then." She said, then opened the comm link to the cruiser.
"Seeing as we've already been introduced." She said over the waves, "We'll skip the pleasantries. You were ordered to surrender. Do you yield?"
The shaking voice of the Imperial Captain came back, "Never!" He said.
"Fair enough." Serenity, "Never will it be said I don't give the enemy a chance." She pointed a finger to Slyder, "Take out the weapons array and engines."
"Yes Boss!" Slyder said with glee, aiming the shot. It hit dead on, the second one also before the cruiser could get one in first. The explosions were intense and quite spectacular. "well fuck me backwards!" Slyder chortled, "That was ace! Can I do it again?"
Serenity grinned coldly, "Feel free, but don't destroy it." She ordered, "Let them live.".......

Re: All In The Game
The turbo lasers hit the crusier's and tore wide swaths of destruction. Inside the crusier the crew were rocked off their feet if they were standing, contorl pannels blew out, fires erupted, ceiling pannels fell as well as struts and wireing. The smell of smoke and a haze filled corridors. And that was just the first salvo fromt he Phoenix. A ship a third the size of the cruiser had just done extensive damage. A heavy cruiser would be a bit tougher but Krell would not have wanted to be the ship's captain.
The second salvo from the Phoenix ripped more hull plating from the ship and breached the hull causeing atomospher to vent. The Captain had the sections sealed off. Reports were coming in. Sublight engines were down, forward batteries were destroyed. Decks 3 and 7 had reported hull breaches. He licked his lips. He had tried to do his duty and had failed. Now he needed to save what was left of his ship and his crew.
"Phoenix and Raven this is the Cruiser Intrepid. Cease fire. I am standing down." came his voice a bit more controled now.
Krell grinned. that was one cruiser down. There was probably a second roaming around. "Good decision Captain." Krell sent his message. "Now tell me where the other cruiser is or I will Let the Phoenix finish you off." The image of the Intrepid's captain was on the monitor screens. He went pale at the threat.
"It was ordered to Handron to pick up Admiral Montrose." the captain said.
On a private and secure channel he talked to Serenity, "Our old friend. What do you want to do with this fish. It will take probably a couple days to repair the damage to the engines to get them to one of the planets of the system. Mean while we can comendeer some supplies and have that nice dinner."

Serenity smiled openly at the extensive damage the Phoenix had caused to the cruiser. It would take at least a few days for them to be space worthy again and she could imagine the sheer panic among the crew. Still, Slyder had kept his word and left the ship relatively alive and then the other Captain surrendered. Serenity coudn't have been more pleased. However, the smile faded when she heard Krell talking to the other ship. He wanted to know where the other cruiser was, or he would let them destroy the cruiser. Let them destroy it? What was she now, his own personal armada? Serenity felt her temper rising and let him know about it on the secured channel.
She waited, tapping her fingernails on the consol until he'd finished. They would take some supplies and then have dinner, he'd said. Even Kai knew what was coming and kept his head down. "So you would let us destroy the cruiser." She snapped, putting emphasis on the let part. "I wasn't aware I needed permission, nor that I was under your command. Is that the case Krell?" Now, depending on how carefully he chose his answer for that question would determine whether he ate his dinner, or wore it....

Re: All In The Game
He had gotten the information he needed. The system was now basicly defenseless. There might be a few small patrol ships but nothing that would bother them. He could tell that Serenity was not to happy with what he had said. He sighed and looked at her lovely vistage on the screen. "I would never murder those that have surrendered. You should know me better then that." he told her, his voice soft and steady, his face very sincere. "But one must make it look like I would, to get the truth. At times I have to make it look as if I am like them to get what I want" He would not have let Serenity blow them away even though they may have deserved it. Most imperial captains and crews would not hesitate to destroy a crippled ship. He had seen them do it. The only one he would have done that to was still in the Valaris system, if he still had command of his ship.
He turned back to the imperial Captain. "We will not be long here. Just testing out the new ship. Oh if you see Admiral Montrose, tell him we said hello." He could see the relief in the Captains face.
He gave a nod to the pilot and he nudged the Raven forward. The first world they came to that was inhabitable had a small garrison of imperial troops that surrendered immediately upon seeing the two ships landing. They seemed to be guarding something and when Krell and a security team left the ship they found that it was food and supplies of various types. He wondered why it was guarded by imperial soldiers. That is when he saw the people of the small settelment They were cowering within their homes and other buildings, peering out. They looked half starved and some sick and all very frightened.
"The bloody bastard." rage was begining to well up in him. "Jenkins, get Doc out here and another team." It seemed the govenor of the system was taking everything from this planet and probably the other outer ones to live high on the hog with his loyal followers on the Prime planet of the system. "Get this stuff back to the people." he told the first team, after they had secured the prisoners in a large room. Dinner might have to wait. He would not eat until he made sure that the people had their fill. As his men began smashing locks to doors on the supply bunker, he walked into the small settlement.
He saw a little girl trying to hide behind a barrel. She was crying, scared and looked miserable. She couldn't have been more then five years old. He squated down and picked her up and held her tightly to him. "It will be alright." his voice cracked as he held the trembling little girl. A woman came out of one of the building, a man trying to hold her back. She broke free and ran towards Krell and the little girl, tears in her eyes.
"Don't hurt her please." the woman begged.
Krell handed the woman the little girl. "I would never do that Maam." He stroked the little girls head. "Go tell the others we are not here to hurt, rob, or do anything to any of you. Have them come to the bunker and get everything they need. My Ship's Doctor will be here shortly to look at any that need medical help." The woman looked at Krell, with eyes of disbelief but she saw the senserity in his eyes. She nodded and then ran back to her husband and told him what Krell had said. Soon others tentively began coming out of their homes and the buildings.

Re: All In The Game
At first, Serenity wondered what the hell Krell was up to. Landing the ship on his port side, she left the bridge, taking her Dogs with her and Jenny was included. Rat stayed behind just in case. She was all ready to smack her lover for getting distracted, but when she saw the settlement, she felt her heart drop into her gut. Half of them were sick, the rest were starving and every last one of them were terrified and filthy to boot. "Gods below!" She breathed as she followed Krell's footsteps. Most of the people cowered away from her and she couldn't stand it. Reaching the bunkers, she stopped and had a look inside. There was enough food in them to feed the entire population for a couple of years. Then she spotted the guards and growled low in her throat. Nodding to her Dogs, they fanned out to speak to the people, let them know they meant no harm. They were with Krell and his teams. Serenity made a beeline for the guards.
"I should kill every last one of you for what you've done to these people." She told them, "And believe me, I'd take great pleasure in it."
"We're just following orders." One of the men said firmly.
"Who gave you the orders?" She demanded.
"Admiral Montrose." The man replied, "He gave the order."
Serenity felt her gut surge up to her throat. "I see." She said, moving to the lock on the door. "So this garrison belongs to him?"
"Yes."
"And you do as well?"
"Yes."
"Just what I needed to hear." Serenity said, unlocking the door. Without warning, she drew her light saber from her belt and flashed it across the room. In less than 30 seconds, every guard lay dead, holding their own heads. And there she left them.
Back in the settlement, Serenity still had that ice cold stare in her eyes. She carried the saber openly down the street, taking a central line. The saber was still active and it glowed a royal blue colour. Those that hadn't gone to the bunkers ventured out to stare at this strange woman that had just obliterated the entire garrison of guards and now she walked bold as brass down the middle of their main street. She met her Dogs at the other end near the bunkers and lifted her head high.
Kai, having watched his captain walk down the street from the prisoners, felt his heart sink into his gut even further and chewed his lip. When she made it to him, he took a step back. "It's been a long time since I've seen that in your hand." He offered cautiously, "You didn't actually use it, did you?"
Serenity stared at her commander coldly, deactivated the saber and walked away.
"Oh hell!" He breathed, actually doubling up and putting his hands on his knees. She had killed them all, every last guard. He then smoothed his hair back just as an old man came up to him.
"I haven't seen a light saber for many a year." The old man said, his old gray eyes staring at Serenity with reverence.
"A what?" Kai asked carefully as he handed the old man a small sack of flour followed by a pitcher of water.
"A light saber." The man repeated, "It is the weapon of the Jedi. Just you wait until I tell the others."
Kai blinked dumbly, "You've lost me." he said, "The Jedi? They've been dead for centuries."
The old man smiled and touched the tip of his nose. "If you say so." He said, "But seeing that woman with one, are you so sure?"
It took Kai a few seconds to process what the old geezer was saying, but when the credit finally dropped, he placed a hand on his shoulder. "I think you'd best come with me." He said, "Krell needs to know this."
The old man shuddered with fear, "Please don't hurt me?"
Kai let go instantly and gave a warm smile, "Never happen." He promised. "You see that woman is my captain. Her name is Serenity Diamond."
The old man's eyes lit up brightly, "Really?"
Kai nodded, "Yes, and Krell is the one who can understand what you've just told me, so we really need to speak to him before word gets around and my captain flips her lid, OK?"
"OK."
Kai nodded again and carefully led the old man towards the other captain. Once they had reached him, Kai coughed into his hand.
"Krell." He said, "You need to speak to this man." He pointed to the old man, still holding tight to his flour and water pitcher. "You really need to speak to him, like right now. It's about Serenity."
The old man came forward and gave Krell a deeply wrinkled smile. "I was just saying to this young boy here about the lady pirate, Serenity Diamond. I didn't know she was Jedi. I saw her light saber. Haven't seen one for decades. Perhaps when I was still a young boy, I saw one carried by a traveler, but never since. I was going to tell the others that he Jedi had come back, but this young one here said I needed to speak to you first."......

Re: All In The Game
Krell could see the crews of both ships helping give out the food and supplies. Doc came with his medical team and set up a first aid station and began treating people. The people were still scared and didn't know what to make of things. Pirates landing and then handing out food and taking care of the sick and injured. They had always been told the pirates were cut throats, murders and scum that would raid, pillage, plunder and rape.
But here they were helping them, being kind to them where the storm troopers had bullied them, beat them and took almost everything they had. They lived in fear of the system govenor and his storm troopers. When Kai brought the old man up to him and the old man began going on about Serenity being a Jedi, he was a bit taken aback. He turned to Kai, "What is he talking about, light saber?" It was then that Jenkins came running up.
"Captain!" he swallowed hard. "The soldiers........ they are all dead. Their heads....... cut off. He looked down the street towards Serenity. "She did it with some sort of light weapon."
Krell gut turned around and around on him. What had she done. She had been ready to hand him his head for threatening the Captain of the Cruiser with destruction, after they had surrendered. Now she had killed a dozen men after they had surrendered. "Kai, Jenkins, take care of this old man. and make sure that every scrap of food and medical supplies is given out to these people." he was then off running after Serenity.
When he caught up to her, he moved in front of her and gently placed his hands on her shoulders. "Serenity." he spoke softly and with concern in his voice. "Why?"

Re: All In The Game
((i think krell missed the point about letting her destroy the cruiser lol))
Kai was quick to start speaking, but just as he opened his mouth, Jenkins came running up to them, shouting about the dead soldiers. Kai shut his mouth again and did as he was told. Had Jenkins not interrupted when he had, Kai would have told Krell, but in a much better way. He helped the old man carry his food and medical supplies, sighing every time they had to stop so the old man could tell people about the Jedi that had just killed all the soldiers in revenge for their suffering. And that Jedi was Serenity Diamond. Kai wondered just how the hell he was going to explain all this later.
Half way across the settlement, Serenity stopped when Krell blocked her path. He placed his hands on her shoulders and asked her why. Why had she killed all those soldiers? She lifted her head, "Because they deserved it." She told him flatly, "Did I need permission for that too?" She moved from his hands and rolled her shoulders a little before bringing out the weapon she had used. "I killed them with this." She said, showing him the family relic, "I haven't wielded it since I took command of the Jezzabel. I don't know why I brought it with me. It just felt right to carry it today.#" Realizing that she was rambling a bit, she tucked the weapon away in her belt and looked her lover square in the face. "This garrison belongs to Admiral Montrose. I thought I might remind him just how much I want his head on my wall. What he's done to these people deserves that much at least." She then looked around, noticing that many of them were staring at her and whispering something about a Jedi. "Uh, did I miss something?".....

Re: All In The Game
(I thought she didn't want the cruiser destroyed or it's crew killed. A bit confused on that part and her questioning him about needing permission. )
He didn't know what to say to her. He was still raging inside about the system governor and Montrose ordering the food and supplies to be taken from those that had gown it, raised it, and manufactured the finished product. He was all for going to Harcone, the main world of the system and paying the governor a visit and perhaps stringing him up. He again took her into his arms and lifted her head up by the chin. "Well you could have waited a bit, until we could have questioned them. I have a feeling that the other two outer, inhabited planets might be in the same state of affairs as this one." he gently kissed her lips and still speaking softly to her, "and you know damned well that you don't need my permission nor do I expect you to. But I would like to be consulted at times on things"
As he to heard the people talking. "You have a light saber, the weapon of the Jedi. When the new republic and the empire were one under the emperor Palapitine and long before that, there was an order called the Jedi that helped the old republic police the systems. Settling disputes and such. They had great powers. With you using the lightsaber on the storm troopers, an old man thinks you are the Jedi returned to save them and punish those for opressing them. I think he has spread the word."

((when he said he would let her destroy the cruiser if they didn't surrender, she thought he was assuming command of the phoenix and she needed his permission to destroy it if she wanted. she was being sarcastic lol))
"If this planet is anything to go by, I guarantee the others won't be much better." Serenity said coldly, "And the soldiers would have given you nothing more than they gave me. And about me not having to ask permission, don't think I ever will, even if you don't expect me to. As for being consulted, it was spur of the moment. Besides, when I heard who they belonged to, I lost my temper." Of course, in truth, she had not lost her temper at all, she had merely gained what she needed to know so she could kill them. Something had told her deep down that their lives really did mean absolutely nothing to anyone beyond their commander and he had died right along with them. Besides, what they had done, really did deserve that fate to her. She had seen enough suffering of late. Then he moved on to the Jedi subject.
Nodding quietly, Serenity understood what he told her. "Yes, I know about the Jedi, but I didn't know about their weapons. I was always led to believe they didn't carry one. They were peace makers, not law enforcement." She then looked around. "I hope these people see the old coot for what he is." She continued. "Losing a few marbles upstairs. I'm no Jedi. All I did was kill a few Imperials for being assholes. Sheesh!" Serenity shook her head and started back to her ship. Callnig over her shoulder, she said briefly, "Dinner will be a little late.".....

Re: All In The Game
Krell watched her go, and then turned himself to see what anyone knew of the other two planets. The Old man with Kai and Jenkins gave him a lot of information. He told him that there were three other good size settlements on the planet they were on and each were probably in just as bad of shape. He dispatched shuttles to those settlements with enough man power to take care of any garrison.
As for the other planets the old man said that one was strickly for mining. It had an atmosphere but the volcanic nature of the planet made it impossible for anything to grow on it. But the mines were worked by slave labor. By people that were taken from many worlds and sent there to work in harsh and impossible conditions. The other one was mostly a water world. It had some land and it was mostly jungle and swamp.
Harcone was the jewel of the system. It had a good temprate climate, oceans, and beautiful cities. The people there lived in comfort, all at the expence of the others in the system. It had a planetary defense system. A number of satalites that were armed and could take out most ships. Krell thanked the old man. "Tell the rest of the people here that should any Imperial soldiers come, that they should tell them that we took everything. You and the other people make sure you hide the food and supplies well so they find nothing." The old man grinned and nodded.
He returned to the Raven and received the reports from the shuttles. They had disposed of the troops guarding the bunkers there and had begun issuing out the contents to the people. "Jenkins, we did jam all radio transmissions didn't we?"
"Aye Captain. Standard procedure." he replied.
"Good. I think we will be paying a visit to the Mining Planet and then to Harcone be fore we leave this system." Once he was done on the Raven he went over to the Phoenix to find Serenity and tell her what he was wanting to do.

Re: All In The Game
Serenity had already been making plans to visit Harcone. What she had seen on this planet had been more than enough to fuel her rage for the primary world and she already knew of its wealth and status. She also knew now that Montrose controlled it. After leaving Krell on the ground, she had returned to the Phoenix and had pulled up a map of the main citadel there. The palace was a grand one, there was no doubt. It seemed a shame that she would leave it in ruins for Montrose to find.
Rat had been keeping watch while the others had gone outside and when Serenity had returned, he'd gone back to his new and growing junk hole. He still managed to spot Krell coming though and informed Serenity of that fact. Just as he arrived on board, she had deleted the map from her screen and taken out the hydro packs for dinner. They ended up being left in the appliance, the coffee still brewing in the pot as she had slipped into a daydream. It was a pleasant one, filled with fire and falling rubble and Montrose stood in the middle of it, realizing that it had been Serenity that had done it....

Re: All In The Game
Krell made his way through the Phoenix to Serenity's quarters. Having the ship being identical to the Raven helped, since her quarters were in the same place as his. When he got there it looked as if she was deep in thought on something and he moved up behind her and slipped his arms around her. "MMMMMMM day dreaming? About me?" he asked her as he kissed her neck.
He didn't know how she would feel about taking on Harcone and maybe stringing up the governor there. They did have a mission they needed to get back to, but he could not let Montrose nor this system governor make all these peoples lives miserable. He had only wanted to stop on the planet to take supplies form imperials and had found such misery and suffering of the people there. "Serenity, I need to discuss something with you." he began, "I am going to be going further into the system here and taking out the garrison on one of the other planets and freeing the people there that have been enslaved to mine its resources and then..............then on to Harcone to make that bastard of a governor pay dearly for all of this." One could tel the rage in his voice.

Re: All In The Game
Serenity jumped a little when she suddenly felt arms around her. For a split second, she went on the defensive, but then recognised the touch and the smell that came with the person behind her. She calmed again instantly and leaned back into Krell's embrace. The kiss to her neck was wonderful and she closed her eyes with a smile. Had she been daydreaming about him? Her second lie for the day. "You know me so well." She mused, patting his hands lightly with her fingertips. "Dinner's in the hydrator." But he needed to discuss something.
Turning about in his arms, Serenity faced her lover to listen as her hands slid around his hips. She could hear the anger and rage in his voice as he spoke and tilted her head back a little. He was heading for the mining planet and then on to Harcone. Great minds think alike, she thought, but she didn't know about the mining planet. Still, her primary thought was to still attempt Harcone. "I agree with you." She said honestly. "We should do some good while we're here. I'll take the Phoenix to Harcone if you wish and scout the defenses for a weakness. The satellites are pretty hard to get past without some proper planning." Proper planning indeed, she would simply blast her way through......

Re: All In The Game
He smiled as she turned and agreed with him. But he knew his lovely Serenity. She would not just be scouting out the defences. He could see her blasting her way through the satalite defence system and take out the govenor's palace and who ever stood in her way. He looked down into her eyes. "I want to be there and make the governor suffer before I string him up. That bastard needs to pay dearly for what he has put these people through." he kissed her lips lightly, "How about we both blast our way through and wreak havoc on the governor's palace and other stratigic targets. Then we will go the mining planet."
He was not about to let Serenity have all the fun as it were. Besides both ships would be able to take out the defensive grid faster and hit the planet before they realized what was going on. "Is that alright with you?"

Re: All In The Game
Serenity shrugged her shoulders and wrinkled her nose, "If you wish." She told him, "But I know there's a heavy armour garrison on the mining planet, so you might want to attack both at he same time to avoid getting cornered on either planet." She had a point, albeit a rather selfish one. She wanted the governor's palace for her own self. Krell wanted it for the cause, freedom against the Empire and all that. She just wanted the governor's head on a stick for Montrose just to piss him off.
After a small sigh of enjoyment at his touch, Serenity moved from his arms and collected what remained of their dinner. Opening the canister, the smell was quite tasty, but Serenity suddenly felt her appetite disappear as her stomach turned over. She put the canister on the table and went for the coffee instead. "These hydro meals are getting worse." She commented, though the smell said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food. Perhaps it was just something Serenity didn't like......

Re: All In The Game
Krell mulled over what she said. She had a point. As she opened the food packs it smelled good but for some reason it looked as if it was not something she was liking. He thought nothing of it and sat down to eat. "Ok, I will go for the mining planet, but you have to promise me one thing." He looked at her. "You leave that bastard of a governor for me. You do what you wish with the troops, palace and such but I want that bastard alive so I can have at him."
He reached out and took her hand, not liking the way she was looking. "Are you alright?" he asked her. Her rose from his chair and again took her into his arms.

Serenity stared at her lover and cocked her head to one side. "What would that be?" She asked. He explained the condition and she mulled it over carefully. "OK, I'll leave him alive." She promised, though in what kind of state, she wouldn't say. She then looked at the food once more. "Eat your dinner before it turns even more disgusting." She gave a visible shudder and drank her coffee.
Just then, he was on his feet again and asking her if she was OK. "Why wouldn't I be?" She asked back, not having a clue what he was on about. "I feel just fine." Apart from her stomach turning over at just the sheer smell of the food on his breath. She forced a smile and upended the coffee down her throat. At least that still tasted as bad as usual.....

Re: All In The Game
He sat back down and eat then poured himself some coffee and sipped it. The food smelled and taste great, for food packs. There was nothing better then real food, cooked and prepared. But on ship you had to deal with food packs. He wondered if she may be coming down with something. Bouncing from various worlds and ports one could pick up some nasty germs. If she showed any other symptoms he would have Doc look at her.
Once he was done with his food and coffee he moved up behind her again and wraped his arms around her. "We will be wrapping up here in a bit and then lifting off. You enjoy yourself but....... he kissed her neck again. "Keep yourself in one piece."

Re: All In The Game
Serenity forced herself to sit and watch Krell eat while she drank some more coffee. She made a mental note to have all the food packs changed once they had restocked their supplies. Finally, he finished eating and slipped up behind her again. They would be leaving soon. She was to enjoy herself but stay in one piece. Serenity grinned at him and finished her coffee again. "Anything less would be pointless." She told him.
Once everything was cleared away, Serenity decided to take a wander of the ship. She didn't go back to the settlement; everyone staring at her like that had made her uncomfortable. The crew were busy with their duties and hardly took notice as she wandered through. Those that did see her gave small salutes and she returned them before carrying on. Then, down in the engine room, the crew members were busying themselves with testing the ion cores. The last couple of days had really run them in and they wanted to make sure everything was still on top form. They all gave small salutes.
"Everything is running smooth Ma'am." Said one crewman, "That first run really broke them in nicely."
Serenity smiled and nodded, "Excellent." She said, "But please, it's just Boss or Serenity."
"Yes Boss." The crewman replied, "Chief Marshall said to give them a once over before he got back. I think he'll be pleased."
Serenity gave a small laugh. She hadn't called the old man Chief, or Marshall for years. "You'll give the old fart a complex, calling him Chief like that." She told the young man. He gave her a worried look and she patted his shoulder in a friendly way, "Don't worry, you'll get used to us soon, I promise."
The man smiled back and went back to his task as Serenity ambled away to another part of the ship. All the way, she laughed quietly to herself. Indeed, Mac would feel his ego massaged quite a bit being called Chief again. Still, the old man wouldn't change too much and he'd probably get bored with it after a while.
Eventually, Serenity was back on the bridge and sat in her chair waiting for her Dogs to return. She stared around the bridge, smiling to herself. Yes, she liked this ship very much.....

Re: All In The Game
Krell left his lover and went back to the Raven. The teams were almost done with the redistribution of the food and supplies. The crews of both Phoenix and Raven were now being hugged by the people as they began their way back to the ships. A glimmer of hope were in their eyes and some how Krell knew that he had to help these people be free of the Empire once and for all. Once the crews were accounted for Krell made his way to the bridge and radioed Serenity.
"We are all ready here. Will redevou with you at Harcone. Good hunting. He gave her a smile and then the Raven lifted off. As Serenity sat there in her Chair, relaxed and thinking of her ship. Something began tugging at her mind. She could see a loose circuite board in the Weapons Consol.
(mmmm she can sence it. If she checks it she would find that it would shake loose and when they needed weapons they would not have them.)

((oh dear, poor rat is about to have his ass kicked then. he was meant to be keeping watch while the others were helping out))
Serenity furrowed her brow and slowly moved from her chair. The others were returning now and taking their places. As she passed Kai, he gave her a strange look. "Boss?"
She waved her hand at him and shook her head. She was onto something. Then it was Slyder staring oddly as she got closer and closer to him, then with a slow motion, pushed his chair, with him in it, back from the consol. Then she looked underneath and gave the panel a small thumb with the edge of her fist. As her hand came away, so did the panel and out dropped the main circuit board for the weapons control. Slyder's mouth dropped open, as did Kai's. How did she know that?
Quickly, Serenity stood up again and faced her bridge crew. "Someone find me the asshole responsible for this!" She demanded loudly, "And while you're at it, find Rat. He was meant to be keeping watch!"
Slyder quickly disappeared to find Rat and find whomever had just attempted sabotage. Kai came closer to look at the damage. "That wouldn't have been noticed until there were no guns firing." He said cautiously, "How in the 'verse did you realise it?"
Serenity firmed her brow, "Intuition." She said flatly.
A few minutes later, a rather scared looking Rat arrived and was quickly pounced on by Serenity. After she had thumped him, kicked him and generally threw him about the bridge, she started to question him. The poor had no idea who had been on the bridge, he'd been rummaging through some spares in the hanger. Of course, that got him kicked across the floor several more times before she turned to the rest of her Dogs. "This stays between us." She told them firmly, "We have a rat on board." Looking to Rat, "No offense."
"None taken." Rat replied, rubbing the neatly forming size five boot mark on his backside.
"I don't want them to know we're onto them yet." She ordered, then, "Find out who it is and be nice. I want them thinking they're safe. Then invite them to dinner in the galley. We'll all sit down and have a nice chat. Then we show them how the Diamond Dogs deal with traitors." She took her chair again. "Now get us off the ground and someone get that fucking panel fixed!"
A few minuets later, the Phoenix took off and made for Harcone. Rat fixed the panel without hesitation. It would be a few hours before they reached Harcone, so Slyder, Mac, Kai and Rat had some time to find the traitor......

Re: All In The Game
Krell watched from space as the Phoenix lifted off. Once he was sure that there were no other ships lurking about, he set a course for the mining planet. He didn't think they knew what was heading their way. It would take some time before they reached it, a shorter time then what it would take Serenity to reach Harcone at sub light speed. He planned to hit the Garrison it self with laser fire from low orbit and then send in some shuttles armed with small blasters to wreak havoc on the Storm Troopers. Then he would take some crew down with him and finish them off and see about the slaves. He could not just leave them there. He might be taking them with him and dropping them off at another planet that would be safe.
The traitor thought that his sabatoge would go unnoticed until they tried firing their turbo lasers at the satilites. But the time they realized something was wrong, the defense satilites would have hammered the ship, either crippleing it or destroying it. He would use one of the shuttles to escape and then contact the system governor and inform him what was going on. He had been unable to contact Montrose about Haven or the new ship that had been built. He was sure he would want to know where the nest of traitors could be found, especially Valis. He hummed a little song as he went about his duties in the galley.

Re: All In The Game
The Phoenix made her way steadily through the system unassuming and looking rather benign. The sabotage had been repaired on the quiet before the bridge crew decided to retire to the galley for some more wholesome food than hydro packs. So far, their investigation had come up with nothing more than rumour and conjecture between crew members that weren't too keen on each other. As Kai had worked his way through the list of the crew, only a few names were left. Between him and Slyder, they came up with a plan that would perhaps bring the saboteur to them instead of the other way around.
Entering the galley, Kai gave a deep sigh. "I swear she gets worse every day." He said to Slyder.
"Must be that time of the month." The other man replied, "But you're right. She is definitely getting more off key. Maybe Krell's got summats to do with it."
Kai shrugged, "Probably. She's been soft on him a while. Plus those few days they spent on the Raven. Rang her bell good and proper, ya know."
Slyder laughed openly, "Lucky bastard!" He chortled, "I wouldn't have minded a piece of that for myself."
The pair then looked at the other person in the galley and went quiet, before Slyder stepped forward. "You didn't hear anything." He said, "Did you? Mind you, outside thoughts can be helpful." He took a stool and grinned as he leaned on the counter. "Right Chef, what's good?"
Slyder joined him and also grinned, "Aye, we's Dogs is hungry."........

Re: All In The Game
The cook, heard the two talking quite loudly. They were talking about the ships Captain. He had heard about Serenity and how she was. Some things he could believe and yet others he had a hard time swallowing. But she was a pirate and one the Montrose wanted out of the way. She had been a pain in his side for to long and the sooner he was rid of her the better. Craven knew that Montrose would reward him well, not only for getting rid of Serenity, but the new ship, the diamond dogs, and also for the location of Haven.
Jenney had been releived by another pilot and she took the time to go get something real to eat. She was enjoying flying the Phoenix. She felt as if she belonged with the ship. She was younger then the rest of the crew, except Reese, but yet she felt truely apart of the crew. When she sat in the pilots chair she seemed to be able to tell what Serenity wanted, just as it had been when she took the injured pilot's place on the Raven. She knew what Jenkins wanted before he even said anything. It gave her a warm feeling to be apart of the crew and belong to something more then just her family.
When she entered the galley, she got a cold feeling, as if something was not right. Mac and Slyder were there seated at the counter, and one of the cooks was standing on the other side. She knew Mac and Slyder and had nothing but a warm feeling when around them. A comfortable feeling. But there was something odd about the other man there, something not right.
Craven smiled and asked, "Well gentelmen what would you like." he handed them a small menu of what had been prepared for the shift just getting off duty. He was smiling but inside he was hoping that they would choke on what ever they ate. He was counting the credits that he would be getting, the bounty on each of the Diamond Dogs Heads. He would be able to retire to some nice planet and live the good life.
(Hmmmmmm her powers are slowly now kicking in, can she feel Jenny's feelings?"
