The creature kept moving, not even looking her direction as it passed her, heading towards Clause. It lifted it's blade... it planned to make him suffer... Clause knew full well that there were things worse than death... this was one... this creatures fate... hell bent on making Clause feel all the pain that he had caused to it all the years ago... it was close to him now, only a few feet...

On the other hand... her human form was fast, so she'd easily be able to deek the blade... even better, her wolf form could take him down and at least give Clause more time. She rushed over to her room, got a spear, then threw it at the creature, aiming for its head. Seeing as she couldn't tell whether or not this beast actually had a beating heart, she had better thoughts that injuring his skull would actually do something.

It felt the spear land... it completely penetrated it's head, poking out the other side... it turned it's focus towards Riley... no longer looking to Clause... it could still feel pain... just not die from something like that... it let out an agonizing cry and lost it... it moved quickly after her. Clause was starting to come around again... feeling his body starting to heal a bit more... he would be week, but it was better than incapacitated... he would be low on energy after healing that much... but he would be alive...

Riley jumped, not having expected such a quick reaction, and not having expected him to still be walking... or, running, rather. She jumped into her room, leaving the door wide open for him to come in. "Come on in, demon. Don't worry, I'm a good fight." she mumbled, making sure that she would react quickly when he came into her room. As soon as the demon ran in, she imagined a thick cage around him with no opening or lock to get out. She hoped her mind was as fast as he was running. In past experiences, it was faster, but different realms meant different rules. Different ways that you had to kill things. This cage she imagined, was made of solid steel, with bars and walls so thick that she couldn't grip the bars, and with no way of getting out unless she willed the cage away. She stepped backward, seeing the cage appear just inches infront of her.

As she wished, the cage appeared... the demon feel right into the trap... it started scratching at the walls, tearing at the, trying to get free... not realizing that he was in her realm now... it was trapped... it wasn't going to get out anytime soon unless she willed it away.

Clause stood up slowly... "Wolfie... you wear me out, you know that..." he said. "this is the second night in a row I've been this low on energy..." he said going towards her room. "Oh..." he said surprised seeing the cage. "Smart thinking Riley... Oh god... it... it didn't touch you, did it?" he asked.

"I'm good at wearing others out." she winked at him from where she stood in her room. She was standing close enough to the cage that the creature could reach between the bars and grab at her, but to her, it didn't look like he could reach through at all. "No, amazingly enough, it did not touch me. I thought of this cage before it had the chance. Why?" she asked him, looking at him very confused. "What would happen if it did?"

"I would rather you don't know... but..." suddenly the creature lashed out at her. Easily wrapping it's hands around her neck. Her mind would start to feel what it did... the pure anger, hatred, sadness... this creature was once like her... all of it's pain would flood into her. Most human's would go mad at this, lose all control. Clause yelled to her. He couldn't enter her room... "Riley! Riley! Get away from that thing!" he yelled. He longer the thing held her, the more it would effect her. "Goddammit! Let me in!" he said, he could get it away from her... but... he was stuck outside of her room.

Riley tried to jump away from it as soon as its hands went through the bars, but she had not gone fast enough. When the creature's hands wrapped around her neck, her first reaction was to punch his elbows in. However, it seemed that its elbows were beside the bars, so she couldn't punch them in, and its flesh was too bloody to notice any features anyway.

Then she felt the pain. At first it was slow and easy, but then all of her hidden anger, hatred and sadness broke out of the silence. It hit her like depression, and right now she hated everything including the decorations she chose for her room. She raised her hands to the bars and pushed away, but the creature seemed to have a tighter grip than what strength she had. True, she was going to shapeshift into her wolf form very shortly. Lucky her, the moonlight would even shine into her room for the whole first part of the night. As well, she found herself hating something that she hated others for hating... the fact that she was a hybrid... She looked straight into the creature's eyes, and wondered in her mind, Where'd all the gleeful things go? Tears swelled her eyes, and as the emotions intensified, she pushed harder against the bars. She was trying and wanting to get away from him, but at the same time, she wasn't putting in much effort. Her mind and body were not connecting like they should. However, her spirit was rising... coming closer still to the moment of change.

"Let her go!" Clause yelled. He couldn't do anything... he felt powerless... he had seen something like this happen before... he banged against the invisible barrier...

The creature felt her struggle... but it held tight as she pushed away... he wanted to spread his fear... his terror... soon, if it held on long enough, she would become like him... just another creature to roam these halls... Clause looked to the creature, he talked to it... "Don't... don't do it... she has so much to live for... so much potential... you were like her once Andrew..." he said. "Remember... flesh and blood... not just some vengeful spirit..." The thing seemed to be listening... but he still held on... however her last push surprised him... most humans would be completely taken in by now... by the first touch it would be all over for a normal human. It let her go... but still reached for her... her mind would snap back to normal shortly after.

Riley fell backward, landing awkwardly on the window seat. She felt her emotions gradually make their way back to normal, and put her hands to her stomach. It looked like she was going to be sick, and she felt very nauseous. The stench of blood was getting to her, and the shock of what that creature could do... what that creature did to her... she looked up at the door, and whispered, "Come in, Clause." her breathing was back to normal by now, but her thoughts were filled with odd things. It almost felt like she was trying to figure something out, but at the same time, there was nothing to figure out. She shook her head, trying to forget that she had nearly lost her ability to return to her world. Then, she could feel the moon's energy. Only seconds away. Like in all other cases, the only way to stop her from shifting shape was chaining some sort of silver object to her. However, on this night, she would fight with all her willpower just to be free. She watched Clause as he came in, hoping his master hadn't noticed that whole thing.

Clause moved to her quickly, hearing those magic words that let him come in. "You can banish that creature... send it to the deepest dungeons of this place..." he said. "You can... just say the word..." he said, Clause not even wanting to look at it. "Are you... alright? Most people are never the same once one of the other demons get touched by them. He also felt fear... his master no doubt was watching... a commotion like that... and how he helped her... how he tried to help her rather... he knew what was waiting for him that night... he didn't have hardly any energy left... it would hurt more than usual, but he didn't tell her that... Riley didn't need to think about that.

Of course, it was that moment that mother nature decided to summon her wolf. She was happy to hear that she could actually get rid of the creature. Not just trap it. She shapeshifted into her wolf form, but just before her vocal chords changed, she managed to say "Banish." to the creature, and watched it (along with the cage) disappear as her body finished the transformation. As quickly as she could, she moved her curtains with her snout, and bit and scratched at the window as she tried to open it. After a minute of failure, she started to get antsy and barked at Clause, hoping he'd let her out. She padded over to him, glaring deep into his eyes.

She then spoke with her thoughts to him, speaking in his mind so that he could understand her, rather than just hearing howls and growls. I'll be just dandy as soon as you open the window. she thought-spoke impatiently, Now.

Clause laughed at her a second. "I didn't know you could do that..." he said back to her in her mind. "I'll let you out..." he said petting her... "Just be sure to come back... though... the next test will happen at a time of your choosing..." he said with a little smile. He opened the window for her. "Go... have fun..." he said, he dreaded what awaited him... The creature was gone... they wouldn't see it again for a long time... hopefully never...

She growled a little thank you, then jumped out the window, landing in such a way to use the momentum from the fall to break out into a run, not looking back. She ran for the whole night, exploring the castle property and enjoying every minute of being a wolf. She was happy now, being in her wolf form, finally having her run. Riley ran, jogged, ran again... It was the happiest she had felt after leaving home.

As the night soon turned to morning, she returned to the castle and jumped through her window, into her room. Just as she landed on the floor, she shifted back into her human form, grabbed the closest blanket to her, and slept on the floor. In her dream, she remembered her brother, and how he was the only one who ever truly expressed how much he cares about her. Sure, Clause was being nice to her, but it just was not the same. There was a time that she came too close to losing her brother. She dreamt of that night, too. All of her bad memories, worries, pet peeves, and sadness were mixed into these dreams in very distorted ways.

She hadn't heard her alarm clock, and she wasn't about to wake up on her own. She slept heavily on this morning, as always, so unless someone came in and yelled at her to wake up, she wouldn't until her body felt that it was rested well enough. Knowing Riley, that might not be until around seven in the evening.

Clause watched her jump out the window. "Be careful..." he said. He moved back to his room... knowing what to expect... torture... worse now than he had ever felt... though... that wasn't what happened... he entered his room... something else happened... something that scared him even more than torture... nothing... He looked around, expecting to see his master's shadows... but no... there was nothing at all... what was going to happen... he knew that the Master was aware... but... what was he plotting... he laid on his bed... trying to get to sleep... he was low on energy... he wasn't able to wake for a long while... he needed to recover...

When Riley finally did wake up, she felt very uneasy. She carefully sat up and leaned against her bed, looking around the room. She noticed her window was still open, so she got up and closed it, moving the curtains back over it as well. She sat back down on her bed, thinking about the previous night. It was not the first time that she'd bloodlusted during the full moon. Usually, there was a lot more silver involved to keep her in human form.

She then had a long, hot shower, trying to cheer herself up. She just wanted to get back to see Rhoan again, but the fact that she couldn't see him right now seemed to tear her apart. She didn't remember her dream, but all she could feel was loneliness. She blowdried her hair, and got dressed in bootcut jeans, a tank top, and skatershoes, then waited silently on her bed for Clause to get her for breakfast, or rather, dinner.

Clause woke up... he felt better... much more than last night... he looked outside... he slept the whole day away... he didn't know he was that drained. He felt terrible for keeping Riley waiting. She was probably starved. He moved quickly to her room, knocking on the door. "I'm sorry... Dinner is served..." he said. He didn't want to talk about last night... about all that happened... about the demon... about what she experienced... but... he would answer any questions...

"S'all good." she shrugged her shoulders, not saying anything else unless he spoke to her. She couldn't quite place why exactly she was feeling this way, but she didn't really care today either. She followed Clause to dinner, and gathered spaghetti onto a plate once they got there. It wasn't very much spaghetti, but she didn't have a very large appetite right now. She figured it was the last day alive. She'd be the one to free Clause if she won. Joyness, for getting her name out there in a totally different realm. It wasn't like enough people knew her name already.

She waited until she was half way through her spaghetti to even pour a mug of coffee. She was downright out of it today, and was beginning to get annoyed with herself. So, while she drank her coffee she forced her happier thoughts forward, and tried to keep her attention on those during dinner. Maybe then she'd return to her amazing self.

Clause ate with her, noticing that she was quiet today... it was eating him up inside... he needed to say something to break the silence... he needed to know about what she was going through, if she had recovered... "So... did you have fun last night?" he asked her. "Running around under the moon like that?" he asked. Last night was hectic... but he figured it would be best if he focused on the good parts. "Oh... and the next test will be taken whenever you wish... so feel free to take your time..." he said.

"Last night... Oh, yes, when the moon flew high. I got to explore your property." she said, not getting into details. If she dared get into details, she would remember everything that happened. She wasn't sure if she even wanted to remember everything. As she drank her coffee, she began to get her appetite back. Slowly, but surely, she got to a second mug of coffee, and a second helping of spaghetti. Her happier thoughts were definately keeping her sane. She just hoped that nothing would put her back into the gutter today. She only nodded when he said that the test would be taken whenever she wished. "Does it have to be before midnight, or can it be at one in the morning? At least by then I'll have woken up entirely."

"A week from now, a month from now... hell, a year from now if you really want to stay that long..." he said. "Whenever you wish..." he said. Though he was worried... he hadn't felt the Master around at all... Clause said no more about last night, but he was glad that she was getting her appetite back. He remembered it fully... he only picked at his food... his wounds completely healed where she drank from him at least... as far as he could tell, he was back to normal. "Have... well... have you thought about your wish?" he asked. "When you complete these little trials?"

"I have definately thought about it, yes." she answered, "But that doesn't mean I'm going to tell you what I've been wishing for so far." once she finished her spaghetti, she sat back to enjoy the rest of her coffee. "How about two hours after we're done here?" she said, though made it sound like more of a question than anything else. To have herself and her brother protected from all evil would be pretty cool, but then their lives would lack excitement. She had to figure out something that would benefit both her and her brother. Otherwise, she'd just ask for something like winning the lottery. Or, getting better jobs with better pay. She'd figure something out.

And just in case you were wondering, she thought-spoke to him again, having full belief that his master did not know that much about telepathy to be able to track their thoughts. I do not want to be spending any longer than another minute here. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to stay until I've completed my tasks here.

He communicated back to her. "I know... I don't blame you, frankly, I hope you finish your tests sooner rather than later..." he said back to her in thought. "Well... any time is good for me, I don't have anything else going on..." he said with a little laugh. Just looking after you, Wolfie..." he said with a little laugh. He finished his dinner and looked up at her. "This next test will be a bit more difficult than the last... however... I think you can do it..." he said.

She continued talking in her mind, and let her eyes glaze over as she stared out into space. That way, just to watch her, nobody would suspect anything. "Well, of course it's more difficult. It's the last test. Nobody's even supposed to make it this far, so I wouldn't be surprised if somebody's altered the test a little bit to make it even harder than it's supposed to be." soon enough, she finished her coffee and put the mug back onto the table. She didn't want anymore food or beverage until she was done the test. She hoped to have her next coffee sitting beside her brother. Riley was not that confident today that she was going to complete the last test... she knew Clause would help her if he could... she knew that there was only so much that they could do to her in a personal sense. Not much actually affected her to the extent they might want. Or rather, to the extent that his master would want. She remained sitting at the table, waiting for Clause to finish.

Clause finished, looking at her, he smiled. "You know... I haven't even seen my master around... not for a while really..." he said thinking. "But if you pass this... it's all over... you get to go back home and I get to stop this madness..." he said. "You are further than anyone has ever gotten... you just have a little more to go..." he said, he was excited for her... "I know I chose the right person for this... but... I wish I didn't have to take you from your home... but... if you finish these tests... you will save many from this sort of thing..." he said.
