Holdig her close Andrew hugged her then took her face into his hands "My sweet love we will write everyday and tell eachother what is going on" He gently rubbed her nose. "I will always love you" He placed his chin on her head. "It will be hard I wont lie, but itwill be worth it" He said quietly. The idea of her lying with another bothered her of course but he coulnt think about things like that. He HAD to belive that she would stay strong and faithful to him.

But you know how the guys here are.” She puts the food on the table and sits down in a chair as she tries to think. “In my letters to you I will not hide anything from you. The more things we in our letters the more it will seem that we are not apart.”

Andrew thought for a moment "Well if we get married, like infront of the Justice of the peace before I leave you can move on to the base, you know be more protected, surronded by people that have loved ones deployed as well" He licked his lips "Then when I come home I can give you your big wedding" He took her hands into his "I know I said this before and you said you didnt want it" He swallowed "So if you dont want that, I could just let the base know and they could have people coming to check on you"

He wasnt sure but he hoped that she wouldnt pick up that he didnt promise to write everything that happened to him, he knew some stuff would be preety horrible. And he wanted to protect him.

Isis looks at him and says, “Andrew I would but I am very shy around new people. It would take me a while to open up. I scare you when I get like that.” She kisses him and pulls him to her so she can feel his warmth. Her body was shaking as she was fighting the tears inside her. “I will go live with you on the base but give me time to adjust to it. Okay?”

Andrew nodded to her explaination "I know Isis thats why I only suggested it, I just want you to be taken care of thats all" He grinned as he was pulled in closer. She didnt even seem to notice that he was naked. But right now that didnt matter he looked her in the eyes "I will not move you away my love it was just an idea and that is all" He kissed her softly on the lips then took her on to his lap so her legs were to the side and he continued to hold her.

Isis looks at him and says, “I will move with move with you if you want me to. I just don’t feel right about it.” Her eyes close as he holds her in his lap and she kisses him deeply. She says, “You know you are still naked right love?” Not that she cared that he was naked it was just she was not sure if she wanted to make love to him in her kitchen.

Andrew nodded "Either way my pay cheque will be going to you my love" He didnt say it but if anything happeend to him she would be getting the big potion of his death benifetes with a smaller potion going to his parents. He held her close "I will not make you do anything that you dont want to do my sweet" He nuzzled her neck. When he felt her lips on his her growle and deepened the kiss even more.

When she mentioned his nakedness he blushed. "I was just worried about you, you runined my plan, I know you are sore last night being your frist time and I wanted to treat you in bed with breakfast and pamper you" He kissed her neck "So how about I carry you up to bed then bring up breakfast"

Isis looks in his eyes with a smile and says, “A day of you pampering me sounds really good.” She moans loudly for a moment as he kissed a sweet spot on her neck. “I just don’t want to be unfaithful to you my love. You have been my one and only love for so long. My heart only belongs to you, no one else will ever take your place.”

Sweeping Isis into his arms he carried her to the bed and laid her down and kissed her deeply on the lips. And strocked her cheek "I will always love you too, and I know you love me so dont fear" He then went back down stairs and loaded a dinner tray with all the breakfast stuff and walked back up the stairs slowly and then delivered it to Isis and then sat down beside her. "Here is breakfast"

Isis giggles and takes the tray so he did not drop the tray on her. She starts to eat slowly as she watches him with calm eyes. She says after getting her fill, “Do I have to move with you right away after getting married to you? I want to have time to get things in order. I want us to have a home to come back to.”

Shaking his head agan Andrew stroked her cheek "My love I do not ever except to move, either way my money will be going to you so you can chose to live here or on base, this can be our home my love" He leaned dow and kissed her cheek "Anything to make this easier for you my love when I am gone I want you to be comfortable"

Isis kisses his forehead and says, “I want to stay here and keep things as easy as possible for the both of us. I am most comfortable here at home and I know if I live on base I won’t be my true self and I know that scares you.” (OOC: I have going to skip ahead a little so it will be where him being gone is a true test of their relationship.) Four weeks later it is time for Andrew to go for his training and his tour. She helps him pack and puts a picture of them together in the field in his bag so he will never for a second be without her.

Smiling Andrew nodded "I love you Isis, and always will" The next weeks flew by too fast for Andrew and soon he was packing his bag with Isis. He kissed her cheek then pulled a box out of his sweeter pocket and pulled out a gold locket. He opened it up and inside was a picture of him and her. He put it around her neck. "My love you are always going to be with me, and now I am always going to be with you"

He kissed her lips softly and got on the bus. "I will write my love"

I am going to be working hard at my new job.” She waves good-bye as the bus needed to leave. She looks at the ring he gave her as their weeding rings to each other. She goes off to her job quickly.

The Bus ride was awful he felt so alone he hated to see Isis upset. But this is what was excpeted of him. He made small talk with the other nervous Marines as they made it to the base. Once there they were ordered off the bus and the hell week as they called it started

Man I miss you, the smell of your perfume, and your soft skin against my own. We have only been apart for a day and already its been to long. I think we made the right choice in getting you to shave my head; the officers here make it a humiliating experience if you arrive with longer hair. The bus ride here was awful; all these young kids have no idea what is ahead of them. I know you are not happy with my choice, but it is excepted from me, like my father says “keep it in the family there Andrew” I did not want to keep it in the family, but unless I do one tour they will cut me off. Andrew sighed and kissed the letter and then folded and sealed it into the envelope and handed it to the officer that would deliver the mail to the post office. Andrew then saluted him and walked into his barracks and laid down on his bunk and closed his eyes. He had last seen his precious Isis, his high school sweet heart as he boarded the bus that would take him to boot camp.. He breathed in the sweet smell of her hair, memorized ever inch of her soft skin. He had leaned down and kissed her ear softly. “I love you always and forever”
“RISE AND SHINE MAGGOTS” Andrew jumped awake, it was now early morning, the sun was not even up yet. He raced to the edge of his bunk and stood at attention as the drill sergeant paced in front of them, stopping at Andrew he stared at him. Andrew did not move did not blink and barely breathed he looked through the officer. A small smile appeared on the officer’s face “This one knows what is expected here” He walked on pass and Andrew remained still. “You are mine for the next eight weeks, the next eight weeks will be the toughest, longest, most hellish eight weeks of your life thus far, you do not eat, sleep, sit, or shit without permission training starts right now you have five minutes to be ready for the day, your beds made, personal hygiene taking care of and such” He paused “DISMISSED” Immediately everyone around him was running around like made, Andrew quickly made his bed, dressed, making sure everything was aligned just right. Having his head shaved already he just had to brush his teeth and face. Seeing a comrade in need he knelt down and smoothed his bed. Noticing this The sergeant who came marching over, Andrew snapped at attention, “At ease”, Andrew relaxed slightly standing with his legs apart and his arms behind him. “You helped a fellow comrade while others rushed pass although they were finished as well…why?” Andrew replied, “If one fails, sir, we all fail” The sergeant smiled. “You have military blood in your family don’t you?” Andrew nodded “Yes sir, many generations” The sergeant coughed and everyone including Andrew snapped at attention. “If one fails you all fail,” He pointed at Andrew “This one already knew that learn from him, he has the makings of a great leader, you made time thanks to him. Its breakfast time DISMISSED” Andrew got a few pats on the back and a very grateful look from the one he helped. After breakfast was hours upon hours of drills and training. And on and on it went for weeks

Sorry for this letter being so late. It takes two weeks for your letters to get to me. I miss you so much my love. I love my new job but I hate my co workers. I am the only woman working for the big boss Mr. Hanes. So people flirt with me a lot even though I tell them I am married to you.
I understand why you did this my love. Just don’t force it out on our children. I miss you so much I cried just reading your letter. I guess I miss everything about you lately. My house seems so empty with you and my father gone. My father died three days ago leaving me everything he had. She quickly seals the letter in a blue envelope so he would know she was doing okay. She whispers putting it in her mailbox before going to work, “Be safe my love…”

Dear Johanna, Man I still miss you, boot camp is tough long hours, harsh training but I know that good will come of it. Sergeant says I have the making of a great leader, he claims that the heart of a solider beats inside of me, I don’t want a soldiers heart, I much rather be in your arms….it is lights out now babe, Remember I love you always and forever.

On and on it went, Andrew tried to write a letter every second week. Boot camp was hell but he knew it was nothing compared to what was coming.
Andrew finally got her letter and read it and reread it the other men in his group were jelous that he had some one to write to and some girl waiting for him. Andrew hid his nervousness about Isis finding someone else but he trusted her and he loved her and he knew he loved her they would be married at the end of his deplyment.

My Isis,
I no longer know what day it is, nor what date. Training is hard, they get us up before sunrise to do drills, running miles with our heavy sacks on our back, if we don’t all make time we have to do it again until we do in the beginning it took us five times at least, now most times we make time. We have to all do 100 pushups in time, if one person comes out of turn we start from the beginning. And this is all before breakfast. The punishment is handed out here swiftly and harshly. I excepted that it would be this bad, actually worse, but some of the ones are cracking. Long days, lights out are at 22:00 sorry babe, 11pm but we still have to shine our boots, make sure our uniforms are crisp and clean and then they wake us up at 4am. Andrew did not want to tell her of the horrors but he had promised her never to lie to her and not hold anything back. He folded the paper up and sealed it in the envelope. He put it in the outgoing mail slot and climbed back into bed and closed his eyes, he knew he had two hours of sleep before hell would break out again. The officers kept on making an example of him, how shiny his boots were, how prim and proper his uniform was. That meant he had very few friends. But he did not care; he had to be the best he had to be.

Before he knew it the whistle was blowing Andrew jumped out of bed, rushed to the sink brushed his teeth and washed his face returning to his bed he got into his uniform tied his shinned boots and made his bed doing his own penny test and stood at attention waiting for inspection. Luckily they passed this time. So they were able to proceed straight to their five mile run. Andrew did all this out of motion now, his legs no longer ached during the run, and he was able to keep his breath. After the run came breakfast, then more drills, MRE’s for lunch, more training and drills, then dinner. And so on. They were trying to break their sprit but Andrew was resolved that they would not get to his.

Isis looks at the ceiling as she read his two letters before writing something in response.

Dear Andrew,

As the weeks pass between us I seem to be missing you more and more. Your kiss your touch. Everything about you I miss. It is too quiet in this house. I think my mind is playing tricks on me because I miss you so much. I am sending you a new picture of me so you do forget what I look like when you come home.

She goes out to the mailbox in her nightgown even though it is freezing outside. She sprays the blue envelope with her perfume and kissed the seal so he would not feel lonely and know she was still waiting. The picture of her was her in her favorite red dress that she loved to wear around him. Her silver hair was almost to her butt.

As soon as Andrew recived the news that he would not be heading home have graduation he was heartbroken, he had hoped to have a couple weeks between the training and deployment but they would be heading over as soon as they graduated. As soon as he could he sent a letter to his girl.

My Isis,

I have horrible news, they are not letting us come home after boot camp, we leave straight from here to board the planes we will not be home for at least a year once we get there. I love you Isis and I will be dreaming of your sweet embrace every night until we can be together again. Love you forever and always. Your letters lifted my sprits more then you can know. It has been two months of hell; I know that this is necessary that the endless marching and doing pushups for hours on end will be good for us. The sleep deprivation is getting to me though, this weekend during our mock training I ended up talking to a tree thinking it was my CO. A TREE ISIS , A FREAKING TREE. Later he said that was normal but still I felt foolish. I have included a ticket to graduation, my parents are coming too I know you are busy with your job so I will understand if you cannot make it. But I would love it if you could. It will be the last time I can see you until I come home after my tour is over. I asked mother and she said that you can stay with them in the hotel room and they would give you a ride to and from the airport. I miss you Isis but I know your job is important and will understand if you can not take a Friday off. I love you forever and always.

Andrew closed his eyes as he sealed it into the envelope he hoped that she would not feel guilty about not being able to make it, he knew her job was very important and taking time off would be nearly impossible but he wanted to give the option. He handed it to the officer that would again deliver the letter he saluted him but before he could turn away he stopped him “Private Hebden, you write to her almost everyday and she responds with haste, you are very lucky.” Andrew nodded; “Yes Sir I am” He saluted again and the officer nodded his approval and Andrew walked away and into the dorms and got out of his uniform and began to shine his boots and prepare for the next day, it would be an other all night training, so unlike the others who decided to ignore lights out and spend the entire night talking Andrew went directly to sleep. He thought by now they would understand the need for sleep. The next morning during morning drills the sergeant announced that because of his leadership skills that Andrew would be acting CO for the nights training. Andrew dreaded it but knew better then to protest. The nights training went better then Andrew had excepted the others listened to him and they were able to complete all of the objectives in record time. Even captured three of the mock enemy!

Although the other letter was on its way he wrote another one he was just too excited.

My Isis, Training is going better, our SGT placed me in charge of one of the night missions and we completed all the objectives in record time (or so they said) and we were able to capture some of our officers!! So the others are grateful for me now, they understand that having a military brat is good for them! I love you forever and always!

Andrew smiled as he folded this letter, if she could make it they would see each other again in, A couple weeks And he was sure that his latest letter would help her not worry about him too much. He walked to the officer that again would deliver the letter to the post office and he smiled “Is she coming to your graduation?” Andrew shook his head “I invited her but she works hard and I do not know if she will get the time off, I hope she does” Andrew saluted and walked off to the mess hall for dinner

I have your graduation day off my love. You get to see me before you deploy on your tour. My boss’s daughter is a marine as well and he understands my deepest desire to see you. I have four days off starting your graduation day. Your parents and I will be traveling together to see you. Just don’t expect your dad to be in a good mood. I gave him a piece of my mind. I think I pissed him off. Your mother pulled me aside the other day in the market and hugged me for sticking up to him.

How are you my love? We are doing more and more mock trainings here, last week we did one that lasted for six days, I don’t think I slept more then a hour a night, they say its to prepare us for the real thing. I agree but nights without sleep affect each one differently, some go really nutso, attacking each other. But they keep saying that its normal, that our bodies will adjust. The only thing that really happens to me is I see things that are not really there. I swear that I saw you just beyond the tree line. I really hope you can make it to graduation My officers are interested in meeting you as well. Interested on who can be so special that I choose to write a letter other then sneak out after lights out and cause mischief. Love you forever and always.

Andrew again sent the letter off and prepared for the next training session, this one would again put him in charge, the officers wanted to see if he had the smarts to know when to pull “his” men out of harms way. That night as Andrew positioned his men in what he thought would be an offensive move when he heard the shots ring out from all around him, he had gone three days without sleep now but he motioned for his men to hit the floor and used his radio to message to head quarters, they told him that enemy had been spotted all around him. Andrew then made the decision to abandon his post and ordered everyone to retreat turning around to see if all were safe he saw one fall down, Andrew did not even think as he ran back to his fallen comrade he threw him over his shoulder and ran to safety it was then that the horn was blasted signaling the end of the training session. At the debriefing the officers commended Andrew for a job well done.

Andrew saw the enveple on his bed after the debriefing and with trembling hands read it and reread it to make sure then let out a shot of horrays

, I am so unbelievably happy that you can make it! I can not wait to hold you and kiss you. We had another training session, the officers planed for one of my men to fall down wounded, they were all pleased when I went back for him! Of course I would go back for him no one gets left behind! They alluded to the fact that I will be getting some award but you being there is better then any award!

Isis gets his two letters within a few days of being sent out. She reads the letters with a smile before writing a response. Joy filling her entire boy just know how well he was doing.

I am very proud of you my love for going back for your fallen comrade. As for the hallucinations of me being there with you, I have been having the same thing happen to me. But that is from working so many hours. I keep hearing your voice in my ear. Which is not a good thing when you are as sexually frustrated as I am.

I might be sore when we get to see each other again. My stove caught fire while I was making my breakfast yesterday morning and I got badly burnt on my right arm. It will scar but I should be all healed in time for your graduation.

Isis goes off the post man to put a rush on it. Her right arm bandaged up as she walked back to her house. She starts to pack for Friday as she wanted to look her best for her love. When Friday comes near, Isis gets in the car with his parents. They get to the air port and board the plane.

Andrew read the letter, he felt guilty he had not been there to protect her. He sighed and ended up talking with it with the other guys it all seemed that they all had the same guilt that they would be leaving their loved ones. It felt good to talk about it with people going through the same thing.

The last training that night was hell; they threw everything at him, innocent bystanders coming to them with unexploded land mines something that they had been told that they would face once they got overseas. Andrew had to make a split second choice “DOWN GET DOWN” he yelled to the civilian motioning with his hand and body to take care of the language barrier. he needed to secure the area, he sent a few men around making sure it was not a trap then slowly moved to the civilian making sure the explosive device was in fact inactive, finding it was Andrew pulled him off to the side and gave him the paper that would allow him to collect his reward.

Shortly after that simulator ended, a new one started, one that Andrew dreaded, a group of injured school children, and having to calm hysterical parents. Not only were they going over seas to fight but also they were training the country how to take care of themselves and if the horrible should happen they were all prepared. After a few more simulations including his men getting badly injured, and again knowing when to pull back they were all radioed to return to base.

After that they were dismissed and told to get rest the next day he would be graduation and he would see he lovely Isis. Andrew barely slept that night, he was nervous about seeing Isis again, he had heard about many girls breaking up with their men just before they went over seas. Or worse during, he was sure that Isis wouldn’t do that to him but he couldn’t be positive till he saw her again.

As dawn came around he rose and prepared for the day, almost everyone else was still sleeping. She he quickly and quietly brushed he teeth and washed his face. Then proceeded to get dressed pulling on his white shirt then covering that with his other military issued shirt, his pants then he laced up his freshly shinned boots. Finally he held his hat in his hands and double-checked that everything would pass inspection that’s when the morning taps blared out and everyone rushed into action, having finished already Andrew helped out where he could and then stood at attention at the side of his bed. As usual they passed (thanks to him everyone said) and were dismissed to breakfast but most were too busy to eat and instead got inline for graduation.

Walking on to the stage and taking his seat Andrew quickly scanned the area for Isis in the sea of people, but then snapped his head front and center before getting the okay to sit. Graduation seemed to go on forever but judging by the suns movement it had only been two hours. Finally they were all asked to stand and they were dismissed Andrew walked off the stage quickly by pass all the other loved ones embracing each other he was looking for his parents and his dear Isis. Seeing his father first he saluted him but his father quickly embraced him “I am proud of you son” His mom was bawling beside him. He turned and looked for Isis. “Where is Isis?.

Isis watches the stage smiling as she sees Andrew. She smiles again as he hugs his dad and mom. She makes her way to him while avoiding other couples. She says hugging him gently with both arms, “I wanted to make sure you paid attention to your parents and not just me.” Her right arm was badly burned from her shoulder to her wrist. She is wearing that red dress that shows her figure really well. She obviously wanted to look good for her lover.

Andrew flinched as Isis embraced his arms but relaxed the moment he realized it was his Isis he broke out in a great big smile. “There you are beautiful” He bent down and kissed her forehead. “I missed you more then you will ever know” He stared at the bandage and closed his eyes “I am so sorry that I wasn’t there to protect you” He kissed her lips softly "When I get back I plan to marry you"

He was holding on to her as if he was scared to let go. But when his Commanding Officer walked by he snapped to attention. “As you were Private Hebden” Andrew relaxed slightly. “Well introduce me to your visitors here Hebden” Andrew turned “This is my mother sir, and this here is my father, he served in Vietnam and is one of the main reasons I enlisted” He paused letting two men talk. “And this sir” he continued holding on to Isis's hand “Is the girl that I have been writing to so faithfully every week”

The CO smiled. “You are a very lucky man to have such a gorgeous girlfriend” He shook all of their hands then walked away to the next group. Andrew looked at them all. “Would you like to go for a walk?” But his parents shook their heads, “You two go, we will met up for lunch after” Andrew nodded, “Thank you” He then took Isis by the hand and led her to where he had watched the sun set a few nights ago standing behind her wrapping his hands around her waist. “I will always love you Isis no mater what
