Think of something else? What else could she think about when he just told her to think of something else? The only thing that'd be floating on the top of her head hearing that would be what not to think of, which would lead to her thinking of it in detail of why she didn't want him to know. She thought of her mother instead. And of the things occurring here. That got her mind going. "Okay," she said pathetically. She kept telling herself to concentrate on helping Magnus work this all out. Maybe they'd even let her help this time. Jace never let her help. He always told her to stay in the car or something, or carry their stuff. She was a Shadowhunter, untrained, but still a Shadowhunter. She wanted to be of more use.

Magnus sighed and delved into her brain easily. He knew it almost as well as his own, having seen the girl grow up, and fixed up her brain many times. He skipped over the stuff about her mother, which she was using to distract herself obviously. He found the spot easily, knowing what he was looking for this time. He dropped his hand and frowned. "Hmm. You've got the same spot in your brain that isn't supposed to be there that Jace has" he turned to Isabelle, curious now. "Isabelle, come here" he instructed, motioning towards himself with his hand. If he could use this to predict who would snap next, it would be deffinitly useful.

Clary was still concentrating on thinking as hard as she could about her mother when Magnus called Isabelle instead. She peeked open an eye, which she hadn't realized she'd been squinting shut. Was she done? Isabelle's turn now? And maybe Alec's?

Isabelle trudged over, busy texting before she looked up. "Yeah?" she put her phone away in her pocket. She'd been texting Meliorn and a couple other friends, and was currently waiting for their replies.

Magnus eyes her phone before she put it away. "You too, hide your secrets, I don't want to know. I'm checking your brain" he said easily. He knew it might sound strange for people to hear, but he was used to it by now. He had probably checked over 100 different people's minds if they thought something was wrong with them, or wanted something altered. Some Downworlders had the strangest requests for him, but who was he to question them, as long as he got paid.

Isabelle wasn't so prone to emabrrassment as Clary, obviously. For most things, she didn't ultimately care if Magnus knew. He was gay anyway, so she didn't care what he learned from her head. Only things that he could tell her brother that she didn't want him knowing were worth hiding. "Yeah, okay," she said, focusing her attention on meeting up with her lovely Meliorn. Oh, if only he didn't treat her like such a Mundane sometimes. But then, she couldn't see him acting like the Mundies did to her.

Magnus really hoped that Isabelle would keep things to herself, since he knew for a fact she wouldn't really care what he saw for the most part. He put his hand on the top of her head and closed his eyes, grimacing slightly at the first thing on her mind, but skipping through it, shifting through things. He pulled back after a minute, nodding. "Alright. . . you're clean. Odd. Alec! Come here for a sec" he called to his boyfriend in the other room. No way was he letting Alec get off without checking his mind.

Isabelle shrugged and walked off with the phone in her hands, texting back to the first friend who replied. Alec emerged from the kitchen, looking curiously at Magnus. Had he found anything, he wondered? "Yeah?" he asked, walking to his boyfriend's side. "Everything all right?" He hoped nothing was wrong with Isabelle. And Clary. Her too. "Isabelle is all right, yes?"

Magnus gave a half smile when Alec walked in, still trying not to seem too affectionate in the prescence of his boyfriend's friends and family, for his sake. "Mmm, mostly. Isabelle's fine, yes, but Clary's got the funky thing in her head" he motioned towards his own head in a quick gesture, "So now I'm going to check you. Hide your thought's if there's something you don't want me to see" he lowered his voice at the last bit, smirking slightly before putting his hand on the top of Alec's head. He threaded his fingers through the soft black hair, unable to help himself around Alec.

He wasn't sure there was anything Magnus hadn't seen before in his head, or anything he didn't already know. That was also supposedly a way to hide what he wanted. By wondering what he had to hide. He just wondered what he could have wanted to hide from Magnus as Magnus checked him. So if Jace and Clary had the thing in their head it meant they'd been possessed. Isabelle was fine, so presumably so would he. He didn't know for how long they'd be fine, but he didn't think it'd last.

Magnus delved into Alec's mind easily, smiling slightly at what was first and foremost on his mind. That was nice to see. Alec was completely open with him. He searched through thoroughly, not risking a chance of missing something on Alec. He tried not to be too nosy with his search, but happened to come across what he had been thinking earlier, about Jace, which made the warlock grin broadly, and his heart soar. So he didn't feel that was about Jace anymore? He couldn't decribe how happy he was. Once he was satisfied, he removed his hand from Alec's head, 'accidentally' (to anyone else in the room) brushing the back of his hand against the Shadowhunter's face. "All clean" he said with a smile. He really wished they weren't closeted with their relationship, or were alone. He really wanted to kiss Alec right now, but he restrained his urges.

"So Isabelle and I are okay for now?" Alec asked, figuring that was so as they were the only ones not taken over yet. It was only a matter of time, he suspected, before each of them had been taken over at least once. He wondered also if it would only be the Shadowhunters getting this. He didn't know what he'd do if Magnus was possessed. Magnus would probably be harder to stop than Jace if the controller could use his magic. "What are we going to do about the ones who have that thing in their head?"

Magnus nodded in answer to the question. "For now, yes. And hopefully it won't come to you being posessed" he said, frowning slightly. Everyone knew he had a thing for Alec, and he had since he had met him, even if none of them had any idea of how far it had gotten. Well, that he knew of. But that fact would make his comment there completely harmless, almost certainly not making anybody suspicious. "Well, I'm going to have to figure out what it is, how to remove it, and how to prevent it, which requires a lot of work, and definitely a lot of time. And a test subject. And since I'm pretty sure Jace wouldn't be too fond of the idea, I'm going to have to use Clary. Plus, she has a much simpler mind" he added to the dark haired teen in an undertone.

Was it normal that Alec was just the tiniest bit envious that Magnus would be spending so much time working with Clary? Given the fact that he was gay. Given the fact that he was in a relationship with Alec. Magnus would be using his magic in her brain, and Alec was only just a little bit jealous she'd be getting his attention. He knew he'd always have more of Magnus' attention, but Magnus would be studying her and stuff. He didn't even know what it was. He was being stupid for trying to possess his boyfriend and keep him from his friends. "Now? Are you doing that now?" he asked, head cocked to the side. He wasn't sure what he was going to do now. Since it was day and Clary and Isabelle and possibly Jace had noticed he had been absent this morning, he wasn't sure it'd be smart to leave with Magnus and disappear until called. "You'll work on her here, won't you?" He wanted Magnus around so he could 'casually' hang around him.

Magnus could practically see right through Alec's brain a lot of the time, magic or not. He knew him well enough to know what he was feeling. At the question he shrugged. "I don't know. Unless you have something better for me to do, then yes. The sooner I start, the sooner I can be done with going through her mind" he said, sighing slightly. He really didn't want to have to delve through her mind like that, but it was necessary if it meant keeping Alec safe in the end. At the next question he raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Well yes, I don't have any desire to drag her off to my house to do this. Why Alexander, are you jealous?" he asked, giving him an amused smile.

"J-jealous?" Alec stuttered, wondering himself if he was or not. "I....I, err..." He was at a loss for what to come up with. He didn't even know himself what he was half the time until someone pointed it out for him. "I guess I am," he said quietly. Mostly because he was hoping Clary or Isabelle couldn't hear this. If they'd heard Magnus ask, then maybe they'd think it was normal. But if they'd heard Alec's response, they'd figure something out. Alec laughed to himself. "I don't even know why I'm jealous, honestly." Clary was nothing to envy. She was vertically challenged, and not the prettiest girl he'd ever seen, not that he'd ever been attracted to them.

Magnus grinned as he waited for Alec's response. He loved how flustered he could make him with one comment. "Hmm, I'm glad. But you have no need to be. It's not like I'm going to go rape her or something" he said with a snicker. Really, nobody had any idea how repulsive that idea was to him. "It's perfectly normal to be jealous. Mmm, I have more jealous thoughts than I know what to do with a lot of the time" he said, laughing. Alec made him jealous so often it wasn't even funny, weather he knew it or not. Any mention of Jace normally made his jealousy flare. But it was probably going to subside now.

"Why would you get jealous?" Alec asked, since he never actually made passes at other people. Not Jace either. Jace knew he was gay, unfortunately, but it's not like Alec had ever tried to hook up with him. He'd been hopeful in the past, but doubtful too. He didn't need to cling to his old affection of Jace anymore. Magnus sometimes sort of struck him as the jealous type, or something close enough, so maybe now Alec would take care not to make him jealous.

Magnus laughed and shook his head. "Oh Alec, if only you knew" he said, flicking his hair out of his eyes. He had a feeling that would irritate him all day, but he didn't have time to do anything for it. "Anything you do can make me jealous, unless it has to do with me" he explained, laughing again. Sure, he may be over protective, posessive, and jealous, but he loved Alec and that was all that mattered. He was just keeping him safe. For the most part.

Okay, so maybe he was in the slightest, possessive. Not like, bodily possessive, but maybe mentally. He wanted to practically chain Alec down to keep him or anything else from doing anything around him. Alec thought it was rather flattering and a bit sweet, though he didn't understand why. "If it's any consolation, you're my first for....a lot of things." He wondered if it was safe to list those things off with the others around, and with thin walls.

Magnus grinned mischeviously at what his boyfriend said, taking a step closer, but mindful to the fact that they may or may not have an audience. "And what, pray tell, would those be?" he asked, his green eyes practically laughing. He really wished that they weren't in the institute. Sure, he would be fine with anybody walking in on them doing a lot of things, but Alec definitely was not. Especially since nobody knew of their relationship really.

A couple obvious things flashed through Alec's mind as the question was asked. "Uh....well, first...kiss, first boyfriend...first....." He was embarrassed to say it aloud. Magnus had taken his virginity, so he'd been his first lover as of yesterday. He couldn't just let the 'first' hang in the air without some other word to accompany it. "First downworlder I could really take interest to." Alec knew he was far from first of anything for Magnus. Magnus, having been around for so long, must have tried everything in the book so far.

A grin spread across Magnus's face when Alec sarted listing them off. Sure, he knew these already, but he liked to hear this out loud. Hear Alec admitting it all, in the same vicinity as the rest of the Shadowhunters, even if they weren't listening. He grinned even more when the 'first' was left in the air, leading him to think of the previous night. "So I'm not just some more downworlder scum to you? Good to know" he teased, kissing his quickly, hopefully before anyone could see. "Well you're the first one I've ever loved like this" he said, keeping his voice low. That was one first for him.

Alec was amazed he was a first for anything with Magnus. Maybe he shouldn't be so amazed, but he was. It was good to know he could claim at least one thing with Magnus as a first. He took a quick peek around to make sure no one had been around when Magnus had kissed him. He wished they were back at his place or something where the chances of getting interrupted or caught were a lot lower than here. "Th-that's good to hear," Alec responded, liking the first title he'd managed to claim from the warlock.

Magnus smiled, happy that Alec liked the first he had gotten. He had been 100% successful in capturing the heart of The High Warlock of Brooklyn, Magnus Bane. And that in itself was an amazing feat. "Mm, I'm glad you think so" he responded, laughing. He ran his fingers through Alec's hair, hugging him gently, really wishing they were out of the institute. He had half a mind to open a portal and drag him home, weather the Shadowhunter wanted to go or not. He was still being mindful of people who might walk in on them, listening carefully.

When he heard no one saying anything, Alec was sure no one saw or was in the room. He tentatively hugged Magnus back, burying his face in Magnus' chest. In an embrace like this, not even his father had ever made him feel so needed, and safe. Never mind the fact that his father was a Shadowhunter and was too busy to do some of those things, he had never made Alec feel so content. Alec reached a hand up to feel the hair that Magnus had left down today. It was soft and rather long, reaching his shoulders. Alec considered asking him to leave it down more often.
