Magnus mulled this over, not too sure himself. "Well. . . it'll be a whole new level of normal. Married with children. Never really thought that kind of thing would ever happen to me. But I'm looking forward to it" he ran a hand over Alec's stomach lightly, marveling at what he knew was inside. This was a once in a lifetime phenomenon, he was sure. And his lifetime being a million times longer than a human's. He still had no idea how this managed to happen, but in a way he was glad it did. He was going to get to experiance everything anyone ever could.

Alec's body gave a light, brief tremble from Magnus running a hand on his stomach. Magnus, half human, half demon, and Alec, a human with angel blood inside. He really had no idea what to begin with on imagining what their child would be. Would the demon and angel blood mix? Would the kid be able to support runes? What about his eyes? "I didn't think I'd ever get married, and I never thought of children," Alec admitted, because he used to think, since he'd never get Jace, he'd be alone and unhappy in the Institute forever, or faking a marriage with a girl. That would have been harder than being alone forever. Now he had Magnus, and they were having a kid. "What do you think? Male or female?"

A grin flashed across Magnus's face at the light shiver Alec gave. He wasn't surprised one bit to hear about that. Alec wouldn't be the type to dream about getting married and having kids and living happily ever after. Especially if he knew he was gay, and was too scared about what people would think to get his ass out of the closet. He himself had burned his way out with his flaming-ness. But Alec had required a bit of a push. "Hmm. I'd say. . . male" he replied, running his hand over the swollen skin again, light harmless sparks flickering at his fingertips.

"You think so?" Alec asked after another small shudder. Was the child and its father connecting or something through him? he wondered, half serious. He had almost agreed with Isabelle on the possibility on their baby being female, but Magnus sounded so sure of himself. Isabelle probably wanted it to be a girl just so she could have someone to play dress up with, and teach about make up and boys. "What if it was a girl? What would you think then?" Did Magnus care what gender it was? Alec didn't, either way he knew partly how to deal with them, even though he didn't take care of Isabelle when she was little like Max.

Magnus nodded seriously, though there was a hint of a smile on his face. "I'm pretty sure. And I'm the magician here, remember?" his smile grew a bit. He laughed at the question, kissing Alec on the cheek. "Then I would love her just the same, and possibly start questioning my skills with magic" he said, even though he wasn't exactly using his magic. He just had a strong feeling that it was a boy. He was glad that he got to have this conversation with Alec. It was nice getting to discuss things like this. They had already thought of names, but that was almost it.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Oh, um, where is the baby going to sleep? I guarantee you won't want it in the same room as us, maybe a room away," Alec trailed off, making it sound like as long as he got some sleep, it was fine if it took longer to make their child silent. Taking care of Max had taught him a lot of ways to try to get more sleep. He and Isabelle had been so tired, they'd taken to napping outside with a glamor on from the runes. They'd find each other just snoozing in perhaps the courtyard of the Institute, up against the building or something. They'd get mad at each other every time, but understand the reasoning behind it.

This Magnus wasn't too sure of. "Well, I could easily convert the guest room into a bedroom. It would take about a minute. Tops" he wiggled his fingers and grinned. He would be able to do it so quickly, any time but now. After he got a few good nights sleep under his overly-sparkly belt. Speaking of, his belt was getting awfully uncomfortable. He shifted away from Alec for a moment before undoing it, pulling it out of his beltloops and tossing it aside. Wrapping his arms around his fiance once more he sighed. "This is going to be one awesome adventure" he decided.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Quite the adventure indeed," Alec said, nodding. Max was one story, their own child would be a completely different one, an adventure even. Max had not been an adventure. It had been torture, and a quite a trip. Not a very good one, but it was something. "Isabelle might wanna be around when you design that bedroom. You know how she'll get if she sees you've done it without her advice. She might even bring in stuff of her own." That would be annoying. There was no talking Isabelle out of it unless she was tied down with her own whip and chained to the floor. That thought disturbed Alec, as he had no doubt Magnus pictured things like that with him.

"Indubitably" Magnus nodded, wondering how bad it would really be. He knew that the path would be rocky, but they would get through in the end. He just didn't want to be getting mad at Alec in his frustration and lack of sleep, as he had been told that he would. He wasn't looking forward to that in the least. "Hmm, I guess she needs her input doesn't she? I bet if we let her have lots of time with our baby she won't be as. . . demanding for things like this" he predicted, hoping it would be true. It was a bit annoying having her wanting a say in absolutely everything like this.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Izzy's just a little....excited, is all," Alec muttered, knowing how she got with children. Just the fact that this was his kid excited her. She had thought this less likely than Alec had, which was unbelievable, to him. No one believed less than he did. "If we let her have a lot of work with the baby, we'd have to fight for who was the kid's real parents, but also, we'd get a lot more alone time, just the two of us." Hopefully their child's first words wasn't something that Isabelle would say. Or Magnus. Alec knew how to watch his language around kids, but Isabelle and Magnus would let loose whenever they wanted, he had taken to noticing.

((WOAH!! WTF HAPPENED!?))

Excited was a bit of an understatement, Magnus was sure. "I think she's more excited than we are. Is that healthy?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. If he wasn't currently as pressed against Alec as he could be, and hadn't just gone about six months without having sex with him, he wouldn't have believed that Alec was pregnant. "Hmm. . . this is true. She'd better not try to steal our baby. I know where she lives" he frowned slightly. Isabelle wasn't this child's parents, as much as she might wish she was. It would be his and Alec's. A mixture between the thing he loved the most in all eternity, and himself, which may or may not be the second thing he loved that much.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Errr, no, I'm not really that sure it is," Alec replied, nodding slowly. "Um, I know where she lives too," Alec said, head cocked to the side for a moment before remembering Jace used to threaten people with that too, even him or Izzy, even though Alec very well knew Jace knew where they lived since he lived with them too. Alec now remembered that it was a joke. "Never mind," he excused himself, laughing slightly. He really needed to get this sooner than later. "She wouldn't steal our baby. She could have her own if she settled down with the right person." Not that Isabelle ever would just settle down. She didn't even need to keep playing with downworlders because she didn't need to distract their parents anymore.

Magnus laughed at Alec's obliviousness about his comment, before he seemed to understand. "I'd hope you know where she lives. But you know, if you ever forget, you can just live with me" this wouldn't be really necessary, since soon Alec would be living with him anyways. "Well, you never know. Until she gets her own, she might kidnap ours" he nodded. It was a very reasonable thing. She just might, if she grew fond enough of it. "But don't worry, I won't let her have it" he promised. He was looking forward to the time he could stop referring to it as 'it'.

"I know you wouldn't," Alec said. Magnus would protect him and their child with everything he had, Alec likewise, would do the same. He was going to protect his new family with everything he had. Getting back into shape was important for this reason. That, and he liked looking good for Magnus, even if Magnus insisted he looked good as he was now, and ignored Alec's arguments on the matter. Alec felt less vulnerable when he was well muscled again. "Maybe Isabelle will just ask the Seelie Court or something for one of their changlings." Speaking of which, they'd have to watch out for that with their child.

Magnus knew that Alec would do the same, if it ever came to it. The comment about the changelings made him frown. Just another enemy that they had to worry about. Quite a list now. The Clave, Valentine and Sebastian, The Seelie Court, any random Downworlders. What was next? Rogue mundies? "The Seelie Court had better not find out about this. There would be hell to pay" he sighed. As much of a joy this whole thing was, it was such a danger. Just by having a child they were putting it in so much danger.

"I bet the Seelie Court already knows. I don't know how they do it, but they usually know everything," Alec said, wondering what the Seelie Queen would do with their child if she was interested in what had happened between him and Magnus. "Even if they didn't know about it now, I think they'll know about it later. No matter who we trust to keep a secret, it'll spread in some way to some people. We just have to make sure we're on our guard for it." They'd be good guards, and they had the rest of the family to rely on to protect the kid. Who else would the child be in danger of? Dumort Hotel? The werewolf bar Luke went to?

Magnus sighed at the truth in his words, as much as he didn't want to believe it. "Yeah. I guess you're right" he mumbled, resting his head on Alec's shoulder again. He really was tired. He hated to admit that if he didn't actually go to bed soon he was going to fall asleep on Alec. He cuddled a bit closer to him, getting comfortable. He was more comfortable than he had been in two months. "I'm gonna work as hard as I can to make sure nobody gets their hands on our child" he nodded sleepily, running his hand up and down Alec's back tiredly.

Alec could tell Magnus was dozing off gradually. Alec didn't mind if he did, Alec could stay here with him and think while Magnus slept. Or he'd fall asleep too. Magnus provided warmth and security with just his presence, and that's all Alec wanted. "I know you will," Alec responded softly, not wanting to rouse Magnus from the sleep he was drifting into. "I will too." By the Angel he would protect his family, Alec told himself in his head. Nothing would stop him from keeping them safe and happy. He was urging Magnus to fall asleep in his head, watching as the man's eyes drooped slowly. The motion on his back from the warlock's hand was slow and slightly broken, but it felt good. It was soothing to Alec, and it made him want to fall asleep with Magnus.

Magnus smiled sleepily, nodding. "I know. And if anybody tries to touch you, they can concider themselves dead" he added, sighing deeply. He was warm and comfortable with Alec, curled up on his couch, and he could think of no better way to fall asleep except maybe one. His hand slowed to a stop as he unwillingly drifted off to sleep, too drained to do anything else about it yet. There were just some times he needed to sleep for a week straight, but he knew he could never pull that off.

With Magnus sleeping, Alec drifted off too after a moment more of taking in the return of his fiance, falling asleep next to the best person of his world. He had been waiting for the two months for this moment, just to have Magnus back with him, so he could be held and loved by the one person he loved just as much that wasn't family. Legit family, that is. Magnus was going to be family soon through marriage. There was no better way to fall asleep, Alec had decided the first time he'd spent the night with Magnus, than to sleep in the arms of your lover.

Alec carefully unwound the cord of the vacuum, Chairman Meow eyed him nervously, debating on whether he could approach him to get pet, or stay wary of the looming monster with a plastic tail. Alec plugged it in and stared at the cat as he slowly switched the vacuum on, emitting the loud roar of the machine. Chairman Meow let out a frightened yelp and fled the scene, Alec watched after him before starting his vacuuming. The carpet wasn't that bad, at least it wasn't filthy and crumb-laden. Much. Hopefully Magnus was actually doing what he was supposed to and not making any messes worse. Isabelle and Maryse were in the other room, finally having given in to letting him at the very least use the vacuum as long as he didn't 'strain' himself.

Magnus groaned and put a hand dramatically over his eyes. "I can't go on! I can't survive another minute of this torture! Just kill me now!" he pleaded, looking to Isabelle. He couldn't even remember why he had agreed to this. It was killing him. He had no idea how the Shadowhunters could be so organized. It was crazy, the things they were doing. He had finally consented to letting Alec at least vacuum, as much as he didn't think it was a good idea. He heard the telltale roar of the machine, and then the yowling of Chairman Meow, who fled into this room, practically throwing himself at him. "Oh look! I have to comfort my traumatized cat! Looks like I get to take a break!" he said delightedly, scooping up the undersized cat and plopping himself down on his bed.

[Nyako-Chan]

Isabelle glared at him while her mother just kept going through drawers and putting stuff in them. "Fine, whatever. You weren't doing much more than taking a break anyway." Him taking a break was equivalent to his working, she had decided, and at least him taking an official break would result him not messing up more of their work. He was already moving things when he thought they weren't watching. "Okay. so we have most of the kitchen clean, and Alec's taking care of the carpets. We won't touch your spice cabinet, but we may have to take everything out to clean the cabinet. You can put them back in whatever way you had them when we're done with that."

Magnus grinned slightly at Isabelle's anger. "Well I'm sorry cleaning isn't one of my many talents. I don't know how" he shrugged, petting his shaking cat. The vacuum was a new mence to him. He had one, but he never used it, so Chairman Meow had never had to deal with it. "What? Why would you have to clean the cabinet? It's fine!" he sighed, shaking his head. He was perfectly fine with the mess. Sure, Alec was due in a couple weeks, and soon they would have a baby and the house would need to be cleaned, but he had no idea how well he could keep it clean. It might be back to it's normal state within the week.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Everyone should know how to clean," Isabelle scolded, "a majority of it is picking stuff up and throwing it away, or moving it. If you have to use supplies, read the directions. As long as you've been around, you should know how to clean. I bet you've watched shows that involve cleaning. You should learn something from them." Isabelle didn't quite believe he didn't know how to clean. He probably did, but never used that knowledge. He didn't even use magic to clean. "You need to keep this place clean, too, and Alec will be here to make sure you do."

"But cleaning is boring! Why would I want to learn from that?" Magnus sighed, crossing his long legs. He wasn't liking this one bit. "I don't see how you Shadowhunters can clean so much. Are you not sick of it yet?" he inquired. Alec and Isabelle had even cleaned a little bit when he was gone. Of course, that evidence had been pretty much erased the next morning. Afternoon. Whatever. "Keeping it clean is going to be hell" he muttered to himself, thinking about the way he got dressed in the mornings. It was going to be almost impossible.
