"Hmm," Alec hummed contently. This was the days he liked. By Magnus' side, listening to him talk about things he'd only ever heard from Isabelle, in other words, he had close to no clue what Magnus was talking about, but he listened anyway. "I'm just glad you're back, Magnus." His arm came up to play with the tips of the warlock's hair, twisting them in his fingers, tugging at them gently. Alec could see it now, Magnus being exhausted, grumpy, even more sex deprived, when they had their baby. Alec would have to make sure they got an alone day once or twice in the week to help Magnus keep calm.

((uummm. . . what?))

Magnus smiled when Alec started playing with his hair, which he had left down, in a rush to get home. "I'm glad I'm home too" he replied, moving his head a bit back, only to cause more tugging at his hair. He wished sometimes that Alec would pull harder. Even during sex he was mindfull not to pull to hard, not wanting to hurt him, no matter how much he insisted that it didn't. He loved moments like this, just curled up with Alec on the couch, chatting or just resting, enjoying each other's company.

"Anything new with Idris?" Alec asked, unable to help but ask about the home of Shadowhunters. He wasn't there long, but the only bright side of not having grown up there, or living there now, was Magnus, and he never would have been able to express his orientation. Sure, Magnus had said Idris was fine, but was there anything different about it? Maybe Magnus would know, since he went there a couple times on duty. Though Idris was his home, right here in Magnus' apartment, with Magnus, was his favorite place he would want to be forever.

Magnus concidered this, thinking about the last time he was there. "Not really. Aside from the sick people everywhere, it was the same as normal" he shrugged, holding back the comment about most of them being assholes. They were technically still Alec's family, if you think about it. He couldn't help but wonder if that made them technically his family when they got married. That would be interesting. He breathed in Alec's scent, relaxing completely. He was ready to pass out and stay that way for a whole week, but he didn't want to go to sleep yet, despite how his eyelids were drooping.

"You should sleep," Alec told him, noting the obvious weariness over the warlock. "If you take at least a nap I'll make you something to eat, okay?" Idris must have fed Magnus, but probably not whenever he wanted. Alec would make something now so if Isabelle came over she wouldn't insist on making food. "I'll show you where everything is in the kitchen later, and whatever else Isabelle put away. If she comes over today I'll let her know her dream came true and she can clean your house."

Magnus shook his head, denying the offer stubbornly. "I'm not going to sleep. I just got home to you. Besides, if I fall asleep now, there's no telling when I'll wake up" he sighed, nuzzling into the crook of Alec's neck, kissing there lightly. "I'm probably not going to be able to find anything for a month. Thank god I'm magic" he grinned slightly. That was always an advantage. He never had to really look for things if they were helplessly lost. Being a warlock could be such a help sometimes. "I'll sleep later" he decided, running his fingers down Alec's back lightly.

[Nyako-Chan]

"If you say so," Alec said, "and Isabelle will get really mad if you mess up her kitchen work, just saying." Isabelle angry about cleaning was never a good thing. "You might want to explore your kitchen first so you don't magic it back to the wrong place. You might not even want to magic anything anyway. If Isabelle sees something messed up she'll throw a fit, and very possibly give you a lecture." Isabelle's lectures were no laughing matter. She'd get very passionate about things she loved, and that was cleaning. Or, one of them was cleaning, and that was a major one.

Magnus laughed against Alec's neck. "I don't think it's fair that she can get mad at me for messing up my own house" he commented, glancing up at his fiance from his position on his shoulder. "If anything, I should be getting mad at her for cleaning it" he was only half joking. It would make sense, but he wouldn't. Even to the High Warlock of Brooklyn, Isabelle Lightwood could be a scary person. And she was his supplier of pictures of Alec, as well as information. Not that Alec was supposed to know this.

"Ah, I guess you'd be in the right to get mad too, then." Even though Magnus expressed a clear distaste for a clean house, or cleaning in general, Alec wondered if he'd actually get mad at it. They had his permission now, of course, but still, could Magnus get mad because they organized, rather alphabetized his spice cabinet? It would be easier to sort through, though Alec didn't see Magnus cooking often. It was usually going to Taki's, or poofing food over. Magnus probably had a lot more talents that had been gathered over the years.

Magnus smiled slightly, moving his head up and kissing the edge of Alec's jaw. "I'm always in the right to be mad at people. Just because I'm awesome like that" he said surely, giving a slight nod. He had no idea how the topic had gotten to him being awesome, so he decided to change it again. "Hmm. Have I told you how much I missed you? Just flat out told you how much?" he asked, resting his forehead against Alec's. He was pretty sure he hadn't, but he was too tired to actually recall what he had said to him. It could have been anything.

[Nyako-Chan]

"I don't think it works like that," Alec pointed out. "I'm not sure you did, actually. I know I heard 'I miss you' a few times, and I know I said the same thing too." Wait, was Magnus being rhetorical again? Alec couldn't tell. Ah well, the question was out already. Maybe Magnus would tell him anyway, even if he was being rhetorical. "You tell me you miss me a lot when I'm away on a mission too. Is this the same kind of missing we're talking about?" he asked, pretty sure it wasn't, because this time around it had been two months, and Alec was also holding his child.

Magnus laughed softly at Alec's questions. "No, this is a completely different kind of missing. This is the 'we're engaged, you're carrying my child, I love you more than I love myself, and I was gone for two whole months without you' kind of missing" he explained, before putting his feelings into words. "I missed you so much, it wasn't even funny. Every time I saw one of your letters I almost screamed in excitement, I found myself reading them every time I had spare time, and I left the house without doing my hair in my rush to get back to you" he said, a smile tugging at his lips, simply because he was home.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Quite the complicated kind of missing, sounds like. But I love you more than I love myself, too, so I understand it,"Alec said, smiling back. Actually, he pretty much loved Church more than he loved himself, though that was a different kind of love. Alec just had low self esteem was all. "I loved getting your letters, though it was annoying when Isabelle started kissing them and had that lipstick competition. Too bad she saw them appear the first time, otherwise I could have kept her out of the conversation." Izzy was only just a tad annoying when he didn't want her nose in his business, like the time she had been hoping the party would set up him and Magnus. Now he was pretty grateful, but at the time it had been obnoxious.

"Yes, well, I tend to love myself a whole lot more than you love yourself. I think you need to work on that, Alec" Magnus decided, smiling slightly. "Ah, sorry. I couldn't help myself. Nobody beats my lipstick" he laughed slightly, feeling a bit bad that it had annoyed Alec, "If I'd found out you didn't want her in the conversation, I could have kicked her out. Made it so you were the only one able to read the papers". He ran his fingers through Alec's hair, smiling at the soft texture he had missed. He knew that they technically did owe some of their relationship to Isabelle bothering Alec about it, but he was sure he would have won him over in the end.

"Maybe just a little," Alec said, shrugging. He knew he needed to work on it a lot more than a little. "What colors did you not have?" he asked, since he'd been secretly hoping Isabelle had had the colors he didn't have. Ahh well. Isabelle had recently gone shopping to get more colors, maybe now she'd have something he didn't have. Alec knew she always bought them when there was only a few left, or the last one. He didn't know if she had seconds of one color yet, but he wouldn't doubt it.

Magnus didn't argue about the fact that it was more than a little, because he knew that they both knew that. "Ehh. . . the ugly colours that I wonder why anybody would buy it. Like brown. I do not own a single shade of brown lipstick. Or that ugly olive green colour. And I don't have any light pink because it doesn't go with my complexion" he explained, shrugging. He knew Alec would have no idea what he was talking about. "Now why are we talking about lipstick?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "I have deduced that you generally have no interest in it. Unless its on me" he grinned.

[Nyako-Chan]

"You have a very good point, Magnus," Alec said, and he was going to tell Isabelle these colors so she could have a moment of glory in succeeding in their lipstick war. Even if Magnus didn't want those colors, or like them. Isabelle might even already have those colors. Alec was nearly sure she had light pink. "What would you like to talk about?" Alec asked, figuring Magnus would want to talk about something that hadn't been covered in their letters yet, or something he missed talking about.

"I know" Magnus replied simply, giving a small shrug. He concidered the question for a moment, not really having an answer. "Well, how's everything been going here recently? Is our baby still kicking?" he asked, pretty sure that it should be. They hadn't exactly gone to a doctor like people should when they're pregnant, because they hadn't exactly worked the whole thing out yet. He knew a few Downworlder doctors that he knew he could trust, so when it came time that Alec was going to give birth, one would have to be contacted. It would probably be the most interesting call of that doctor's life.

"Oh, yeah, its still kicking. Everything around here has been pretty quiet without you," Alec informed him. "Usually the baby kicks...hmmm, maybe twice or more every day. Twice is the minimum, stretching it." The most, Alec hadn't been sure. He lost count after a while because he didn't know he was counting. He just realized maximum activity when it happened. Alec wasn't sure what Magnus had planned for how this was going to work out, but he trusted him, for the most part. Magnus had his moments of being trustworthy and not. "I cant believe we have a month left. That'll go by pretty fast, especially because we're together again."

Magnus smiled at this information. Seemed healthy enough to him. "That's good. Well, not that it's been quiet. . . that's always boring. . . but still. I know you prefer things a bit quieter than I do. . . except certain things" he grinned widely, referring to sex, which wasn't a surprise for him. "Yeah. In a month, we'll be a happy family, and we can live happily ever after. Well, technically after we get married, but I guess being parents makes us family too" he rested his forehead on Alec's shoulder, thinking back to the day before he left. "Have you thought about my offer?" he asked, not raising his head. Even if Alec loved him, and said it would probably be a yes, he was going to fret over it until the answer was deffinite.

It took a second to remember what Magnus was talking about, but Alec recalled the day Magnus was going to get called away for Idris. Two months ago, to be exact. "I thought about it, and I do want it. I talked about it a little with Isabelle. She's a little sad that she'd be getting older and I'd stay like this, but she understands. I think." Isabelle had been sad when he told her he wanted to be with Magnus forever. He still had to talk about it to his parents. This was nearly as hard as the idea of telling them his orientation before.

Magnus smiled slightly against Alec's shoulder before raising his head. "Really? You'd better not just be leading me on or something" he said seriously, flicking his hair back. He wasn't sure what he would do if Alec just suddenly changed his mind and backed out. It would hurt, he knew that. "I guess she would be a bit resentful about it, but I hope she understands" he sighed. He knew that his parents would be the biggest problem with this, and he assumed that he hadn't spoken to them about it yet. It had to be difficult, saying that to them. But it would also hopefully convince them both that he was 100 percent serious about this.

"I need a little more time to think about it, I'm sure I'll be one hundred percent sure about this soon," Alec told him, sure that he was sure. Alec wanted to be by Magnus' side forever, he was sure of that. He had never feared death when working in the line of a Shadowhunter, but the thought of dying and leaving Magnus behind terrified him beyond his belief. "I love you. I'm sure I'll be able to say yes soon." His parents actually had to get over the shock of him conceiving, so maybe a little after he had their child and his parents liked the concept of a biological grandchild coming from their gay son. He'd hint it along the way, see their early reactions.

Magnus nodded, knowing how hard a decision it would be to make. "I love you too. So fucking much" he replied, connecting their lips. Being with Alec again made him feel like he had never left. Except for being drained. But just relaxing with him, the comfortable feeling he got when they were like this, was so familiar it was as if he had never gone anywhere. However, kissing him again made him feel less of the lonliness he felt while he was gone. He knew one thing, and that was that he was never leaving Alec volentarily for two months ever again.

Alec was glad to have Magnus back. He had never wanted anything more in his life (not including Jace) than to have Magnus with him always, especially when he had been absent. Magnus was the thing he wanted most, now and always. Their new family was unexpected but not unwanted. It was a very pleasant surprise for the both of them, and they now both couldn't wait for what would happen in a month. "I wonder what it'll be like when we can get back to 'normal.' Or as normal as things can get when we have a child in the house."
