Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Maryse locked eyes with the hand that was touching her son below the waist, technically. It wasn't above so she called it as below. She watched it a second before locking eyes with Magnus and telling him through telepathy that this was not the place to feel him up. Alec, for the most part used to Magnus touching him here, had hardly noticed he was doing this until his mother sent a chilling glare their way. Isabelle intercepted the glare, defending Alec like she used to by drawing attention away from him, by stepping in front and reaching for Simon instead of just going over there all the way.
"C'mon, Simon. You can at least taste the food, even if you can't digest it," she told him, who took her hand with a sideways glance at the other two. He found their mother somewhat....no, very scary. He didn't want to get her glare instead.

Magnus watched as Maryse's gaze switched to something on Alec's leg, which he knew in an instant was his hand, from the way she was looking at it. He was tempted to put his hand in a more inappropriate place just to spite her, but restrained from doing so. He met her gaze without wavering, used to being glared at by a variety of people. Maryse didn't scare him, but he knew not to cross her with some things. Touching Alec wasn't one of those things though. He would do it whether she wanted him to or not. He was thankful to Isabelle trying to drag her attention away to her and Simon, which he hadn't really been expecting. His hand continued what it was doing, showing Maryse Lightwood that she couldn't make him stop.

Alec coughed lightly from the shared look between his mother and his fiance. His mother was scary when she disapproved, another reason he had been afraid to come out. Disowning seemed pretty obvious to him, because he knew she'd be displeased. Isabelle covering him like she used to was interesting to see. "Err, come on, Magnus. Might as well get up too." He liked Magnus touching him and all, it was comforting, but his mother was intimidating too. He would let Magnus touch him almost anywhere around his parents and all, but Maryse might come over and physically put them apart.

Magnus looked away from Maryse when her son coughed. He knew that Alec wasn't the one to go against his mother much, but he did occasionally. The warlock nodded and moved his arm from around his lover's waist, getting to his feet, knowing it was just to blow the whole thing off, but he was fine with that. He didn't want any crazy family feud going just because Maryse didn't like him very much. He didn't see why touching Alec was such a big deal. Was she unclear on the birds and the bees theory?

The Institute had a fairly large table to fit however many Shadowhunters might be there at the time. Since there rarely were, they had a lot of the chairs to that table in storage. Very rarely did they ever need to take them out, and almost as rare, did they use that table. They traveled with their food, not eating in the kitchen half the time. Their rooms were a common place to go and eat. Or eating out was common for them too since none of them liked cooking. Tonight, Alec was pretty sure they were taking a few chairs out of storage. Jocelyn and Luke weren't here yet, if they were coming at all.

Magnus moved to the dining room table along with the rest of them, Skylar following along behind him in his seat, which was floating, since he knew it was time for lunch, or dinner, or whatever meal that was. He always got confused when he was up early. He saw Robert walk down the wrong hallway for a moment and he was confused as he sat down, until he reappeared a minute later, with a little boy in tow. He blinked for a moment before realizing that this must be Alec's litte brother, Max. He was fairly short, and wearing glasses, and he had the same black hair of his siblings. Max seemed to look around at his family for a moment, then giving Simon a slightly curious look, until his eyes settled on the Warlock. He looked slightly startled at his appearance, especially with the floating baby behind him.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Alec noticed Max before Isabelle did, maybe because Isabelle had already known he was here. "Max!" Alec greeted, walking to his younger brother, the boy greeting him as well. He knelt down to look eye level with him. "You got taller," he told his brother, who always liked hearing that from them. He was short for his age, definitely really short. Odd enough that was because the Lightwoods were all pretty tall. He'd hit a growth spurt eventually, Alec had told him before. "Magnus," he called to his fiance. "This is Max, our younger brother."
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Magnus's thoughts were confirmed when Alec greeted his brother, who he knew he didn't see very often. He knew that was true because he had yet to actually meet him. He walked over when he was called, Skylar still in tow. "Nice to meet you Max" he said, grinning and giving a flourish of a bow, before holding his hand out. "You look a lot like Alec" he noted, minus the height, and plus the glasses. He was a pretty cute kid, Magnus had to admit. Even if he wasn't one for kids, this one seemed pretty quiet.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
"Objection!" Isabelle yelled with drama, pointing at Magnus. Simon was the one who showed her the internet reference from the Ace Attorney game he played. It was quite popular, apparently. He just liked being the judge or something. "He actually looks more like me," she said, relaxing her stiff stance that the main character took. ((I want this game)) Max, in her opinion, had a gentle face with wide eyes. If Isabelle didn't cake so much make up on sometimes, she had wide eyes too. Alec's face was too...she didn't know how to say, it was a man thing. Alec was gentle and innocent, sure, but it was the monster factor he'd been exposed to that just seemed to be another factor.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Magnus looked up when Isabelle yelled, and he raised an eyebrow, recognizing the gesture from others, and assuming it was from Simon's influence. He rolled his eyes and laughed slightly. "You're siblings. You all look quite alike" he pointed out. The same black hair, slightly defined jawline, (Max's was getting there, but he was still young) and charming looks. Isabelle was beautiful, Alec was handsome, and Max was cute. Maryse and Robert had to be proud of how their children turned out, looks wise.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
"Nuh-uh," Isabelle denied, "he looks more like me. Just sayin'." Robert shook his head with Isabelle's demand. The males of the family generally turned out looking like him, while the females grabbed their mother's long hair and grace. Not that there was more than one female child.
"Max will grow into Lightwood genes eventually," Robert said, trying to end Isabelle's idea of this. She liked pointless conflicts. Even Robert thought this one was pointless because it happened so often with her. Well, when Max was meeting new people, anyway.

Magnus raised an eyebrow, looking between the three Lightwood children. Alec was his favorite to look at. They all looked quite like each other though. It showed clearly that they were related. "He'll probably end up looking a lot more like Alec than you when he's older" he pointed out to Isabelle, agreeing with what Robert had said by nodding. "It'd be a bit odd if he looked more like you than his brother, who just happens to be a man" he added, unsure whether that would mean Isabelle was manly, or Max was feminine.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
"Being tall is okay," Alec offered, though Isabelle didn't like it, but Alec didn't mind. Izzy complained how she was taller than a lot of the boys, she liked the elves because they were almost always taller than her by a good amount, which gave her a reason to put on heels. Alec didn't mind being tall, but being shorter wouldn't be awful. It might make him stand out less.
"I need to be proper female height," Isabelle claimed, making a face. She didn't have heels on right now. She was in stockinged feet and shorter than Alec by a head.

Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Magnus nodded his agreement to that statement. He preferred height. He liked his height of just over six feet, Alec being shorter than him, and Isabelle shorter than that, but still tall. "Just be glad your growth wasn't stunted or something" his mind instantly went to thoughts about Clary, but he didn't bring her up. He thought Isabelle's height was perfect, but then again, he was taller than average. The only thing he would have a problem with would be a girl taller than him, which was very rare.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Isabelle coughed at the word stunted and her eyes flicked from Magnus' eyes to Max. His growth wasn't stunted as far as they knew so far, but he believed so, because he had been this tall since four. "Anyway, let's sit down. Mom, want any-" Before she finished her sentence Alec had gotten back up to help his mother instead. Isabelle just should not have food in her hands. He didn't know what it was, but she destroyed all food.
"Sit, sit, Iz," he said quickly, excusing himself for jumping up and taking her spot for asking if she could help. "Umm...men should be doing the work because you guys always do the work...." He didn't have a better reason to think of.

Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Magnus glanced down at Max, who looked a little down, and he felt a bit guilty, even if he hadn't meant it that way. He didn't think the little boy was stunted. He would grow soon enough, he knew. Generally when people were stunted, there were other signs of some kind of deformity, but Max was just short. He had yet to hit his growth spurt. He sighed through his nose and looked up, grinning slightly when Alec offered to help, no doubt trying to keep Isabelle away from the food. "Mhmm, need any help?" he offered, looking from Maryse to Alec, knowing that there couldn't be much more to do, and he was magic, so it wouldn't be much effort anyways.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
"Uh, sure," Alec agreed, trying to keep a normal conversation so Isabelle wouldn't, but probably would anyway, see through his charade of keeping her hands off the food. Maryse looked a little grateful for Alec offering before Isabelle could. Her food gone to waste would be a travesty to her, and ears would bleed from Maryse screaming, shouting, and very possibly crying. Maybe not crying, but something close to hysteria. Robert was afraid of her sometimes, just a little bit, when she got like that. Isabelle had much more moments like those, proving to herself and Alec she needed a little more control on her emotions or reactions.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
"Okay, hold on one sec" Magnus said, nodding to Alec before turning around and picking Skylar up out of his little seat thing that he had never bothered to learn the name of, and conjured up his high chair, setting the sleeping baby in it carefully and buckling him in. "Alright, what do I need to do?" he asked, thinking it better to wait for instructions than just assume what needed to be done. Everybody had a different way of doing things, and most people liked to have it their way, so he would let Maryse tell him what to do for once, since it was her kitchen.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
"Set the main food in the middle of the table. Alec, extra napkins in the center too." Max got messy with food when he was picking out certain parts of the dinner. Napkins were a must with children. Picky children. Isabelle got a little picky with her food, but only with a few things on rare occasions. Thanksgiving usually wasn't one of them, but it was possible. Alec moved a pile of the napkins to the center, keeping them out of the way so there'd be plenty of room for the food to sit down. "Dessert comes last, you can do that when we're all set here," Maryse instructed further.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Magnus nodded and obeyed, not exactly used to following orders, especially not from Shadowhunters, but he was going to have to get used to it. Alec didn't order him around, but he was happy to do almost anything the teen asked him to do. He started moving the plates of food out onto the table, the pleasant aroma coming off of it causing his stomach to rumble. He hadn't eaten since the night before, which normally wouldn't bother him because he wasn't awake to be eating at this time, but when he was, he needed to eat at least something.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
"Sit down and go on and eat," Maryse said, not one for praying to a God, and Magnus and Simon might not want to anyway. Simon couldn't say God's name, and Magnus, she didn't know what Warlocks went for religious wise. Not that she cared. The Angel hadn't had much to do with their food source, only their power and such. Maryse took a spot next to her husband, who was at the head of the table from habit. Simon sat down with Isabelle next to him, and Max next to her. Alec wanted to sit where ever Magnus chose to sit, which would leave the space for Jocelyn and Luke to arrive.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Magnus finished setting the food on the table and nodded, choosing a seat across from Isabelle, leaving a place for Alec on either side of him for his Shadowhunter. It felt odd, sitting down to eat Christmas dinner with a family of Nephilim, Alec being the only stable thing for him there. This was all uncharted territory, families and Nephilim and babies. He was just hoping for the best. He levitated Skylar's high chair over to him, in case he woke up and started crying or something.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Alec had been looking at everyone at the table, not meeting their gaze but glancing through his bangs. They were all looking at some other person, perhaps reflecting on something. Alec was looking at them just to see what they were doing. There was a faint noise from the hallway, and the Shadowhunters looked up, leading Max, who hadn't any hearing enhancing ruins, to look up too with curiosity. Red hair much prettier than red hair they used to know, appeared with another male, one who was formerly a Shadowhunter. Jocelyn and Luke had arrived, late, but they were there. They looked a little uncomfortable, Jocelyn gave Simon a small smile.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Magnus wasn't too sure why everybody was just looking at each other, but he looked around the table, surveying the Shadowhunters and Vampire in front of him. He heard the sounds along with the rest of them, glancing up, suspecting it to be Jocelyn and Luke, pleased to know that he was correct. He hadn't seen Jocelyn in a while, but she was the one he had seen most often before he met Alec. He saw her every two years to mess around with Clary's mind, until she met Jace, and everything went haywire. "Long time no see. Merry Christmas" he greeted them, smiling slightly. He was sure they would be confused by the child sitting there between he and Alec, but they would learn soon enough.
Re: Fan Rp - MAlec - THE DEATH OF CLARY! (c) Cassandra Clare
Jocelyn nodded recollecting the times Magnus Bane had been over to put spells over Clary. Shadowhunters had killed her daughter, this was why she hadn't wanted anything else to do with them. Luke sensed her stiffing up again and put a hand on her shoulder, offering her a smile. He looked to the child between Alec and Magnus.
"Hey, you guys adopt? Congrats," Luke said, looking closer at the child. Dark hair, purple eyes. Did children come with purple eyes? Dark hair was common enough if you looked, or guessed right in adoption places. "He doesn't look very old. Unless you stole him, guys, children are supposed to be in orphanages until six months."
