Maia listened to him. She found it strange. What do these humans really know about him? "I see," she replied. "Does he kill ruthlessly for the pleasure of it?" she asked him, wanting to know how different he is from the other vampires. She remembered what he did to those humans, that got her attention. Not quite understanding Cain, she wanted to see what he was all about, why he was so powerful. It was kind of overwhelming to know a being such as him.
