The Cats of Kitsune Kuroi (Private, Possibly Mature)
High in the mountains of Japan, far, very far from the modern world, there was a place long since forgotten by time. This place, Kitsune Kuroi, meaning 'black fox', was a gathering place for spirits, demons, and sometimes even the divine. It was a bath house, and a dojo.
There were monks here, monks who'd found the secrets to longevity, and there were also other caretakers, these ones not of the human race.
Dwelling here also were temple cats, young, old, wise, and those yet naiive.
Sensei, an old tom who had somewhat assumed leadership of the cats here, rose from his blanket and stretched with great luxory, claws flexing, tail twitching.
it was morning, and the monks were stirring for morning prayer and meditation. The temple's preternatural clients wouldn't arrive until around or just after sunset, and so the day was devoted to chores and study.
He mewed, yawned, and then trotted across the floor, venturing out into the main loft atrium of the bath house. The monks were, as he had heard, up and about, scrubbing the tubs and the floors. There weren't just men, though. this was one collection of monks that didn't restrict women from joining. Grandmother Zhu, Sensei's chosen owner, was running along the wooden floors with the serving girls, wiping them clean once again.
He wouldn't disturb her; instead he went past the activity, out into the spacious zen garden courtyard. He saw Tensu playing with Yomi, the young fox spirit boy who'd been taken in along with his sister, to be raised by the monks here.
He smiled, then set about the garden, hot on the trail of a mouse. He found it, crouched down, and then sprang, his tail fluffed. He chased the sprightly mouse for a good fifteen minutes, until finally he pinned it beneath his big paws.
"...Phew... Not as young as I once was."

Re: The Cats of Kitsune Kuroi (Private, Possibly Mature)
Every morning was lazy, the female flame point Siamese cat had a ritual she did each morning, which meant sleeping, waking up, eating, cleaning herself, then sleeping some more. She was happy, had her choice of males she could taunt and tease, females to chat with, and sometimes play with a mischevious kitten who seemed to enjoy getting into trouble. Kimi stretched her slender, white form, as she woke up from one of her many naps, and trotted out to explore the area, tail held high, and whiskers twitching in excitement.

Chi yawned lazily as she slowly woke at the first crack of dawn, glancing around her blue gaze found the monks and female cleaners all working about, getting up she arched her back and stretched lazily before leaping off of the porch she had been napping on, landing on the soft ground she padded silently across the yard before spotting Sensei, of course chasing a mouse and pouncing on the small white furry thing. giving a soft mew she sat down , the little bell on her collar giving a jingle. Morning Sensei, catching your breakfast? Normally she would go down to the large pond and catch a fish or two. or wait until the humans and demons ate. they usually left out alot of scraps for them, they where very generous when they did that sometimes though.. Especially her caretaker, she sometimes got left out some rice milk, which she enjoyed greatly.

Sensei's ears flicked, and he smiled at Chi. "Good morning, Chi. I trust you slept well? Several times?" he chuckled, killing the mouse real quick and proceeded to chew off tufts of its pristine white fur, tongue flailing as the annoying stuff infiltrated every corner of his spotted mouth.
"Ugh, this is the worst part..."
A half-blind gaze peered out from the shadows in silence. Seiya, the mysterious shadow dweller on Kitsune Kuroi, with a special ability that allowed him to read an opponant's moves with more perfect prescision than even Sensei himself, who had no special talents, was practically a legend around the bath house.
He was a frequent voice in the cats' decisions, being as Sensei himself sought advice from this young but mysterious warrior whom only ever lingered in shadow, but no one had ever seen his full form.
It was morning and as usual the activities were abound. He didn't pay much attention to it. He had no caretaker; no self-picked owner to feed him and scratch his belly and give him snippets of warm liver. He was a rogue, and a rogue not lightly crossed.

Up in the highest place that could be found, sat a adolescent black kitten, how she got up there, it was difficult to tell, but she had managed. Mori mewed, tail twitching, she had a good view of the surrounding area, and she liked to think she was the queen of the world. Orphaned at a young age, she would not have survived if she hadn't been found by one of the cats from the bathhouse, and practically raised by the most of the cats.

Chi gave a gentle pur under his greeting as she s tretched out, lazily batting at the now dead mouse's tail before laying down. '' yes very well thank you, and how bout you sensei? .. ahhh and alteast its easier to clean them then it is for fish, the scales are annoying but the fish.. are so delicious. '' tail twitching lazily she spotted several of the other cats, including Mori up in a tree. '' that kitten is ever so a troublemaker. but she is very entertaining. hope she is not stuck up there. ''

Sensei chuckled. "Hai, I must admit that fish are more difficult. Scales always get stuck in my teeth, even when I just lick them off."
He ran his rough tongue over his furred lips, and then began to pull at the portion of flesh he had just exposed on the mouse's corpse.
He took off a chunk and proceeded to eat, then flicked his ears as he looked up at Mori. "Silly kitten." he called up to her. "Mori dear, why ever are you way up there?"
