The blush on her face did not get pass Alec. He smiled and nodded.

"Aye you are up, you wouldnt want me to pull you out in your bedding."

He then stood and walked a few feet away and hide himself behind a tree and rubbed his forhead. His father and warned him but Alex had disagreed. He found the lady Adriana beautiful and he already knew that he would not be able to take her back home. She was his and now all he had to do was convince her.

She frowned at him when he mentioned pulling her out of her bedding. she certainly hoped he wouldn't do that. Watching him walk away, she slowly climbed out of the tent, and grabbed her brush. She brushed out her hair before braiding it back behind her, and got ready to leave.

Once Alec and recomposed himself he returned to the group who had packed up camp and were all nearly ready to go. He handed Adrianna a stachal of cheese and hard bread with some butter on it then gave her a apple. "Not the best, but it will fill you till we stop for another meal."

He then mounted his horse and offered his hand to her. "We will be ridding hard today, through some area that could be a bit testy, English clans" He said the word as if it was posien in his mouth. But then he remembered what he was.

"Sorry Mi lady just I will rest better when we are home and on home land"

Adriana took the Food he gave her with a small thanks. She was about to take his hand when he spoke about the English and she frowned. "there's nothing wrong with the English," she told him with annoyance. Sje didn't understand this fight between the scots and the English.

Alec looked down at Adriana as she did not take his hand. He chuckled, he had known that his words would get a rise out of her. And he thought she was even more beautiful when she was enraged or embarassed. He raised an eyebrow at the reaction to his men who where all chuckling knowing what thier leader was up to.

Alec reached down and picked her up and whispered into her ear. "The problem with the Englsih is that they are English" Then he urged his horse into a gallope

Adriana frowned when he picked her up. It annoyed her that they wouldn't let her bring her own horse. Or have given her a horse to ride, instead of forcing her to ride with Alec. "Their arrogant and pigheaded just like you."

Although he knew that it annoyed her that she couldnt ride alone it was just too dangerous. He let out a harty laugh when she tried to insult him. He tightened his grip and then whispered. "Thank you" He then rubbed his chin. "We highlanders are very arrogant, and rightfully so, we are the toughest and strongest men around"

His men all nodded in agreement.

Adriana frowned when he laughed. She pinched at him. "That sort of talk will get you killed, if you truely think that. For there will always be a man greater than the next. It's called balance," she told him as she pinched him again.

Alec shook his head "Not in these parts" He chuckled as she began to pinch at him. "Now my lady I do wonder how a lady as gentle as you gets her temper" He turned her head to look into her eyes. "Do you really want to think that the men that could be hidding and waiting to attack us are stronger then us?" He raised a eyebrow and waited to see what he anserw would be.

Adriana glared at him when he turned her head so he could see her face. She studied him carefully. "you never know," she scoffed at him. He was rather irritating.

Staring into this beautiful womans eyes as she glared at him he found himself lost in her eyes. He wanted nothing more then to kiss those plump lips he shook his head and tried to regain his dicipline.

He chuckled again at her comment and looked around checking for danger. "So you would rather us get caught and you taken to only the gods know where?"

Adriana shivered at that thought and she blushed. "who said your downfall will happen today?" she asked him, avoiding to answer his question that he brought right back to her.

Seeing that his words had the effect that he wanted satisfied him and he winked. "You shall see soon Lady Adriana we are the most respected and feared amoung the lands, but to keep you safe we are willing to do anything."

He tightened his grip on her. "Now for the next bit I need to to remain quiet" His men all seemed on high alert.

Adriana frowned at him when he winked at her. But she didn't get a chance to reply when he told her to be quiet. She obeyed, seeing the men were alert. She glanced around, a little bit uneasy.

Suddenly Alec and his men darted into the trees and other voices could be heard. Alec held up ten fingers and the men around nodded then Held up ten themselves. Down the path came a group of heavily armoued men. Alec glared at them as they rode pass.

When he was satisfied that they were gone Alec led them out of the hidden forests and looked at Adriana. "The McClains, are our sworn ememeny it was only your presencess that stopped a battle today"

Maeve held onto him as he and his men moved into the trees to hide. She was quiet, though it was rather difficult, until she saw the armed men, and she tensed up a bit. When they were gone, and Alec led the way out of hiding, she looked up at him, and blushed.

His heart skipped a beath when she looked up at him and blushed. Man she was beautiful. He licked his lips and winked again the dimples appearing on his face when he smiled. "Now what were you saying?" He teased softly.

They continued ridding for a bit longer before the camped for the night again. "It has been a long day" He said to her softly. "Tommrow we should be in the highlands if we travel hard again"

Adriana scoffed at him, and wrinkled her nose at him. She was quiet the rest of the ride, till they camped again.

She glanced to him as he spoke and she nodded. Her body was sore from being in the saddle all day. She stretched out her body, and yawned a little.

This woman bewitched him and he couldnt understand it, he had of course had other women in his bed, women that were proud of the achivements, how they were able to please men in bed but this woman confused him. The other women threw themselves at him and yet he wanted Adriana more then anything but he couldnt dream of causing her reputation to be spoiled, no he was trusted with her care.

He had to stop thinking about her ample breats, it didnt help the way he glared at him. She watched as she walked away and could tell that she was stiff and cursed himself for being dismissive in her comfort.

"Tommrow we shall ride at a slwoer pace" The men started to protest but stopped when Alec nodded toward the lady Adriana.

"Aye"

Adriana found a creek, and knelt to splash water over her face. she fixed her hair, and eventually returned back to the men. She'd walked off the stiffness and soreness in her thighs and legs. Pushing her hair behind her, she gave a small smile towards the men.

Alec watched her and then set up camp and walked the priminater of the land trying to get a hold of his emotions, he could not be falling for a damned englishwoman. He shook his head as he made it back just as she did. He watched her smile and rolled his eyes then he sat down and glared at Adrianna, she better get used to it he couldnt be this warm when he made it home.

He spoke gruffly. "Lady Adriana, do you have suitors after you" He curssed himself that was ot the question that was he wanted to ask he sighed and waitign fo the anserw there was no taking it back now.

Her gaze shifted to him, and glared right back at him. She heard his question, and it startled her a bit. "There are no suitors," she stated. "If there were, they'd be scared off," she stated softly, shifting her gaze away from him.

He was started by the glar that she gave at him. He leand back and rubbed his chin listening. He chuckled when he said that any male would be scared off he stood and clasped his hands behind his back. "Do tell me why whoudl they be scared off" He then cocked his head to the side.

"My uncle won't allow anyone near me," she told him softly. "he has a way to get them to run away." She studied him. Adriana didn't understand why her uncle was so protective, he practically kept her locked up. Not literally, but he did keep a tight lease on her. Only time she could get away, was when he passed out when drunk, which was quite often.

Alec sensed somthing deeper was going on. but he nodded. "He doesnt want a suitor to court you" Normally it would be a concern but since he didnt plan on letting her go back to England her uncle wouldnt be a problem.

He nodded to her. "Well lets eat" His men looked up at him as if he had lost his mind. The couple married ones nodded and smiled they knew what was going on. They just wondered how long it would be before the Laird figured it out.
