Mew and Taigi could hear the shouting above them and Mew mewed loudly and scampered to the engine screen as Taigi go into poistion by the power so she could quickly increase it if need be hearing the shooting outside and above her and mew didn't scare her but just made her more curious as to what was going on since sshe hadn't been on a moving ship for a while as a mechanic.
Mew mewed loudly to her and she looked over "what is it?" she shouted he mewed again worried and she got up adn checked the levels quickly and then went aaround the engine and fixed a part falling slightly very quickly and then quickly went around "everything else seems fine now, Mew. How about the other levels?" she asked he mewed and she nodded quickly getting back into position both her adn Mew grabbing onto something just before it got rather bumpy almsot hitting her head a few times.

The two ships got closer and the sensors picked up the radiation readings telling Krell that it was defiantely Reavers. "Damn!" he cursed. "Stan evasive course. You know what to do." He said as he ran out and down towards the Engine Room. He opened a hatch in the floor and slid down a ladder to the second turret. "Could get rough. Got Reavers coming at us. Don't want them raming us and boarding us." he called up to Taigi. "Once Frank and I open up there will be a bit of a power drain, keep the power boosted up."

He took the seat and the turret emerged from the hull and he swung the turret around looking for the two ships. He put on his head phone and talked to Franks. Taigi and Stan as well as Meg could hear him. "Alright people heads up."

Taigi nodded and Mew kept an eye on the levels while Taigi began to keep the power up as high as she could once both Krell and Frank had opened up.Mew had griped onto something in order to keep himself steady and Taigi just kept herself firmly in one place beside the power unit. "Reavers?" she muttered no entirely sure what they were but assumed it wasn't good. She quickly grabbed hold of somethign as the ship suddenly moved adn caught Mew as he fell off the panel and then told him to get back up again and he just nodded and scampered up quickly finding a neat little place to tuck away but still see the screen.

They had both been able to hear what was happening upstairs so knew roughly what was going on and knew what to do in order ot help them out abit. Taigi and Mew both banged their heads at a suddden movement and Raigi rubbed ehr head and pulled her goggles back over her eyes and did several adjustments in order to keep the power levels stable.

Stan began his eratic manuvers to try and keep the Reavers from ramming them. Frank and Krell opened fire at the ships. It was something that they were not expecting and the first couple of shots hit their targets and tore through the hulls of the ships. But that did not stop them. They kept coming. As the lasers fired the power dropped some.

"Come on Captain, nail those suckers." Stan's voice came over the comm. "I don't feel like being dinner for some deranged bastard."

Krell didn't feel like being dinner or infected with what ever made them into Reavers either, so he kept at it. Some years before the Alliance had been embarased as hell when the crew of a ship discovered that they had tried to make an entire population of a planet docile by putting someting into the air. It had made them docile alright. Made them stop eating, working and breathing. The entire population of the world died because of it, well almost the entire population. One percent had the opposite effect, making them into what was now called Reavers. Deranged humans that disfigured themselves and made them into canabiles.

"Aim for their engines. Knock them out and they can't do anything." Krell called over the comm to Frank.

Taigi got herself up after she secured the power "Hey, Stan need a hand up there. Guess what I found in the engine. Something like a booster rather old now though. Want to try and get it moving?" she asked adn mew shook his head and mewed as she began to fix it up completely and checked the links a smirk on her face as she quickly secured the power again.
She could here other ships outside shooting at the ship. "Shesh, give me mroe repair why don't you space monkeys" she muttered and moved carefully amung the engine part and found a slightly broken link. "didn't spot this earlier" she said adn fixed it quickly turns out it linked the booster to the actual controls. "Hey, was there ever a control that never worked? cause I just found the control link and why don't you try it now. don't know what sort of booster it is it's so old but it'll be better than nothing" she said
Mew shook his head and mewed an alert. "Uh-oh" she said adn quickly went back to the power and got it up again keeping it high and then checked fuel levels.
The Reavers kept firing at the ship not stopping and following it as well.

The Reaver ships might have been leaking radiation and piloted by crazy people, but they were amazing pilots. But Stan was better. When Taigi called up saying something about a power boost, Stan was about to just shug it off but a flashing light on his control pannel. Flipping the switch next to it the ship lurched forward at an excelerated rate. "Whoa!" Stan cried out, "Alright." He manuvered the Raven, keeping it away from the two ships. Frank finally got in a good shot to one of the ship's engines. Pieces of metal erupted from the ship but followed it as it went off on a course it had been on, the inirtia of it's speed carrying it on. That was one ship, but there was still on e left.

Krell tried to hit the engine of the second ship but got lucky with a shot to the bridge of the ship. The controls for the ship were blasted. The ship just kept going, unable to turn. The second ship slamed into the first ship at full power and the two exploded. Stan cried out with excitement as he saw the explosion. Stan powered the ship back and brought it back on course. "What the hell did you do down there girl." Stan called over the comms.

Taigi and Mew had both grabbed onto something quickly "Well that worked well" she said laughing and Mew nodded and mewed happily wagging his tail slightly. She heard explosions and smiled. "What? she said as he mewed and jumped down nudging her "We should check the power levels and other things first" she looked to Mew as he jumped back on her shouders. After a bit she heard Stan over the comms and looked up slightly "I found an old peice of engine, I didn't think it was much before since it's so old it was started to rust a bit, just sort that out and reconnect it and there we have it,seems like it worked thought from the explsion outsdie, hwo's everything up there?" she said smiling and Mew cheered as he lay on her shoulders sleeping once again.

After a bit she sat herself down by the engine waiting for a response to her question with Mew slipping off her shoulders into her lap to sleep. She smile dnad troked his now once again oily fur but didn't care still having her goggles over her eyes and her hat on she put him back on her shoulders and checked she didn't leave anything near of in the engine that wasn't supposed to be there. After she got a response she walked back up to the main part of the ship she washed off her hands as face a bit before she got the pil from Mew's fur off giving him a terrible wake up call when she did.

Krell emerged from the turret, shut and locked it. "What the hell was that Stan?" he called up to him on the Comms.

"Better ask the new mechanic boss. She's the one that came up with it." you could hear the merriment in Stan's voice. "Looks like you picked the right one for this job."

Krell turned to Taigi as she was cleaning the oil of of Mew's fur. "Well, where did all of that power come from." He thought he knew his ship. He had it for three years now afte finding it hidden on the moon of one of the outer planets. He had studied all of the specs on the ship's computers and there was nothing on them about a device that would give the ship a power boost.

"Old engine parts where hidden in the new ones basically.It was probably deleted form the computers since it had been broken for so long despite the repairs, fix all that up connectit to the control panel and we have lift off." she said "and all ships usually have some hidden old technolgie but most just leave it a lone when it's usually the old stuff that hides such power boost. It's just plain excellent and usually works the best with ships such as this, it also stores power in it for emergencies" she said as Mew flicked her with water and then jumped on her shoulders soaked. "Oi,don't even-" Mew shook his fur and she shook her head "think about it" pulling her hat and goggles off wiping the water and oil off their lenses before she turned around "and there is probably a lot more hidden down there, they build the new over the old.Hmm, lot like the Earth's crust" she said thinking with a smile on her face and Mew shook his head and jumped down scampering around again he found out where everyone else was and jumped from all their shoulders like a little monkey happily.

She crossed her arms slightly holding her hat and goggles "Well, he's going to cause chaos" she said raising an eyebrow laughing slightly. "Where did you find this ship? it's old and I mean really old, I found moon rocks in part of the engines earlier, I'm no expert but I'm guessing from a moon of one of the outer planets" she said just curious.

As Mew went all over the place, Taigi asked him where he found the ship. He was not about to answer that one. Not yet anyways. "Yes she is an old ship, probably pre war." he told her. "So the old girl has a few surprises for us still." he patted the bulkhead in the engine room. "Not nice to keep secrets like that from me old girl. " he chuckled and then turned to Taigi. "Good work. Mmmm you had better go find Mew before he gets into something some one doesn't want messed with."

He himself headed for the bridge and took his normal seat. "You know Stan, I think we have ourselves a good crew now. Full power to our destination. The sooner these three are put planet side and we are on the way out the better."

"Thank you sir" she said politely and then she just nodded and wondered off and found Mew quickly and picked him up putting him on her shoulders before she went back to her room and worked on some old stuff she had and listened to her music box for a little bit while Keeping Mew occupied as well.
She found an old map and firgured out where they were going and raised an eyebrow. "Mew check this for me, we can't be heading there" she said and Mew nodded recognising the route. Before he met Taigi he traveled round a lot and knew nearly every route possible.

She sat on ehr bed fiddling with an old invention of hers to keep herself occupied and Mew began tracing routes on the map and just jumping around like a monkey and wound most likely end up getting in trouble if her did it around the ship too much.

There was no more signs of Reavers which was a good sign. Once he was sure things were normal, Krell left the bridge and went to the Comman Area and threw in a ration pack and heated it up. Then looking around he opened a compartment and took out a bottle and poured himself a glass before putting it back. He then sat down and enjoyed his food and a nice stiff drink to wash it all down with.

The three scientist came in and fixed themselves something and sat down. "Its a pitty that we could not examine those two ships." one of them told him.


"Yeah if you want to be infected how ever they do it, you go right on back there, but with out my ship and crew. Don't feel like winding up like them or have my crew becoming like them. We only damaged those ships. I am sure there are plenty of Reavers alive on them." Krell told them point blank, "I am taking a big risk here as it is, taking you to that moon. If not for the gas giant it orbits, we would not be able to make an approach and drop you three off."

Taigi looked around. "Damn it Mew, stop wondering off" she said and heard one of the sceintists scream and ran out. "Mew, no wondering around or we'll both loose our heads" she said half joking. "What is that?" "That is Mew, my freind, nice to meet you as well" she said smiling at them as Mew jumped on her shoulders. "Well keep it away from our equipment, we don't want it damaging anything, it's so clumsy" "it's not an it, it's a he" she said frowning slightly.

Shelooked to Mew who laughed and fell off her shoulders before shaking himself off "Well actually Mew is my partner, mechanics always work in apirs I just prefere to have a small partner who knows where everything is despite the fact he keep getting in trouble"she said and he mewed slightly and jumped back on her shoulders. "Also if your going near a gas gaint don't get too close or the ship will explode engine first, not head first" she said flicking through her note book quickly checking something over.

Mew wondered off again and found Stan and mewed looking up at him saying hello or atleast trying wondering what he was doing. He sniffed him and then jumped off and found nearly every crew member and sniffed them so he would recognise them later on and then went back to Stan and sniffed him and mewed smiling in his own special way.

"One thing you can do for us Captain. That creature your mechanic has. He is everywhere and we don't want our equipment damaged. Is there some way to keep him away from our stuff?"

Krell closed his eyes and sighed. "I will have a talk with Taigi and have her keep Mew from running around your things.

Stan looked over at Mew raising a brow. "Well your the little scamp that has been running all over the place. Touch anything up here and it might cause the end for all of us." he pointed a finger at him. "So no touch and we will be good." he pulled a cookie out of a pack of them that he had and held it up. "We got a deal?"

"Shesh, he won't touch anything anyway he isn't stupid, why do you think his a mechanic and his not a pet, his a freind" she said and found Mew "Sorry boy, your going to have to stay in your room for a bit" she said as Mew nodded at Stan and jumped on Taigi's shoulders whimpering "Well, stop jumping around so much" he mewed "yes I know, but don't" she said and tapped his nose making him sneeze.

Shewent back to her room and Mew settled down and jumped onto the bed and curled up feeling quiet rejected since he was only excited and would have calmed down in a day or two. "Listen, next time I do repairs you can wonder round a bit, the controls will be off so they'll be no danger" she said to him and he nodded

Stan looked at Taigi. "Hey we were just getting aquinted. He can stay as long as he just watches." he called after her, but it looked as if she was gone. He smiled though. The little guy was sure a bit hyper, as if he had never been on a ship before. He shugged his shoulders and turned his attention to the flying of the ship.

The scientists satisfied that he would have a talk with Taigi about Mew left to continue their discustions on what they were going to be doing. Krell got up and walked up to the bridge.

Mew jumped around the room still, hyper as ever. "You can't act like that when your no longer a pup, yes I know you won't get much bigger but still you could cause a lot of damage" she said and Mew sat in her lap as she sat cross legged on the floor and tugged her hat off again. "Oi, give me back the hat" she laughed and Mew frowned and put it on the bedside table but her music box. She just stayed laughing for a bit.

Mew was still a pup since their growing rate was awfully slow which meant he still had about a month until he matured enough. But at heart he was good and just a bit hyper naturally, it was his first time one a moving hsip but all the same he loved exploring them partly because he could then tell Taigi where everything was and it saved time despite the fact he sometime did cause a bit of chaos.

Taigi just stayed in her room to play with Mew for a bit to keep him occupied since he could never be left alone for too long unless he was asleep but even so then she just let him sleep on her shoulders while she wondered around. She walked outside leaving Mew to sleep for a bit with her note book in order to check her notes on things. Now a bit of ahbbit she did it queit often.

Krell sat there on the bridge looking out the front view window. He looked at the multitude of stars, wondering how many of them had worlds like that of the huge solar sytem that the human race had found. There had been planets in the system already suitable for life and had a variety of animal life forms. But there had been no human or humanoid life forms there. Some scientists thought this strange and others just accepted it as proof that intelligent life was very rare.

The great arcs that had carried mankind to their new home had been dismantled and used to make the first settlements on a couple of the first inner planets. Thier intersteller drives had been also been dismantled to create the power stations on the planets. It had been a long time since man had left earth with its resources used up, its air polluted beyond breathing and its oceans fouled by toxic wastes. Some scientists said it would never recover and would be a dead world. Others said the planet would heal itself in time.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath and let it out before standing and patting Stan on the shoulder. "Let me know when we are on approach to the moon." he told him and then went to find Taigi. He saw her coming out of her room and approached her.

"Taigi." he said, "We have to talk about your friend Mew." He stood there his arms crossed over his chest. "I have a feeling that this is the first time you have both been onboard a ship that is out in space and it is exciting and new. But the things that belong to the crew and passengers are not to be bothered. Mew being on board means he is part of this crew." he looked at her a bit sternly, "Which means he takes orders from me." he smiled a bit. "So you tell him, that is my order for him. Ok." he didn't want to sound harsh, but friendly, but not to friendly as he was the Captain after all and had to have some discipline on the ship. "Also I talked to Stan. He said that Mew can come up to the bridge anytime but not to touch things with out permission. As part of the crew he is allowed up there, but with some restrictions until he gets use to being on board. Oh and Stan says that he still has some cookies for Mew up there if he wants some."

"I know, I know I heard them earlier. Mew is like me a mechnic so he is careful with things and is still only a pup he gets used to ships after a day, I've been on a ship before as mechnic a year ago, just not for long.The ship crashed when the navigator made a miscalculation and went straight into a group of reaver ships" she said and listened to what else he had to say "I understand sir, sorry for the trouble" she said "I told him earlier to calm down anyway and he knows that already Stan must have told him or he read his mind" she rustled her hair slightly thinking smiling slightly when she listened to the rest. "Like I said I'll tell him everything later once he wakes up" she said nodding her head slightly "If you'll excuse me I have to check my notes beforehand to keep them up-to-date"

She waited a bit until she was dismissed before she walked off and foudn herself a comfortable place and checked through her notes looking through the pages on old technologie just encase soemthing else was hidden in the engine room. After a bit she settled herself and worked on her own little project with an old chunk of metal perfectly spherical in shape a bit like a puzzle before she found Stan. "Hello, your Stan correct?" she asked still getting used to remembering people's names.

Krell nodded to Taigi and went to his own quarters and removed his guns and laid down on his bed. He needed a small nap before they arrived at their destination.

Stan half turned in his pilots seat to look at Taigi. He smiled at her and said, "Yep that is me. How is that little rascal Mew doing?" He laughed. He motioned over to the cookies on a consol. "You took him away before he had one. When he can, send him back up and we can get aquinted."

"Sorry, he was going to start causing trouble soon and he'll most likely find his way back up here because of the cookies, stomach on legs well a rather small one anyway" she said and looked over ehr shoulder "see what I mean?" she said as Mew jumped on her shoulders and mewed happily still half asleep. "Wake up first silly thing" she said and tugged one of his small ears and he batted her hand. "As you can see he is fine, unfortunatly he doesn't need even half the amount of sleep as anyone on here" she said as Mew jumped onto Stan's shoulders and picked up a cookie asking as best he could before hand. "his still learning to talk. let's see one month to a few days he'll be speaking perfectly" she said thinking a bit. "I'm Taigi, I don't know if you know my name so might as well introduce myself" she said smiling and watched as Mew made himself at home eating the cookie happily "Your going to get fat" she looked to a rather dazed Mew who just glared and grinned in his specail way.

She looked outside "Isn't that were we're heading" she said after a while pointing ahead towards their destination. Mew had fallen asleep again rather stuffed from a cookie minus all the other food he had been eating he look a bit bloated but rather content adn happy with himself.

As Mew came in Stan grinned. He watched as he jump on Taigi's shoulders. The little guy seemed a bit more relaxed now. Then he jumped over on to his shoulders and he chuckled. "Well now, remember our deal ok?" he handed him a cookie as Taigi told some about Mew and introduced herself. Mew began eating the cookie "I don't think he will. Looks like he has a very high matabolism.

When he fell asleep Stan Chuckled. "Don't worry about him. He will be fine and he is more then welcome to come up and keep me company. I think he will behave up here." he looked at Taigi, "Find any more little quirks about this ship yet?" When she asked if the little speck getting bigger was where they were going, "Yep thats it. Just a bunch of mining camps. Most of them are underground and safe from Reavers. Just want to drop in and let off our passengers and get the hell off that rock before any take notice."

Mew nodded before he ate the cookie and fell asleep, more relaxed since he knew near enough where everything was and could now relax. Flicking his ears every now and then just to listen around a bit; After he woke up he grabbed a pencil and her book from her and went to the back page and began drawing a map at the back of the book and Taigi just left him to it since it kept him busy for a little while, it always did.

"Well you'd be surprised, he usually just eats and eats" she said laughing slightly and listened to what else he had to say "and I'm pretty sure after the cookie he'll live up here now" she joked raising an eyebrow slightly. "and not yet, I probably will later though, this ship is old so there is most likely a few more old technology in it that should be fun to uncover and fix up and what exactly are Reavers they never came to our station at all so I never learned about it and the last ship I was on took no time to explain" she said crossing her arms "why would they want to go there if it's so dangerous wouldn't they rather stay somewhere away from danger?" she muttered

"What are Reavers? Are you serious? You Don't know?" Stan shook his head a stunned look on his face. "Have a seat." he told her. "Reavers have been around for some time now. At first it was beleived it was because they went beyond the edge of the solar system in to deep space and went mad. But we came here from Earth and no one went insane, not like that. A few years ago the crew of a ship called Serenity found out the real cause of the Reavers."

He turned the pilot chair around to face her. "The Alliance have, ever sence the rebellion, been trying to find ways to make everyone to be more compliant and controlable. They experimented on a planet that even now no one can go to because of the Reavers. They added something to the atmospher that caused the entire population, millions, to stop caring, working, eating and breathing. They died, all of them. Well except for one percent of the population. It had the opposit effect on them. They went insane and ruthless and canabalistic. They deform their bodies and faces, and seek out people to kill, eat, or infect to make more of them."

He paused for a moment, "The planet, Miranda, has a debrie field of old ships that were destroyed by the Reavers when they left the planet. That is where they make their home, aboard ships that are not safe for normal people to be on. Not sure who named them Reavers, but the name stuck. They have raided the outer planets for years, attack ships, so that they can kill. You hear that there are Reavers coming, you run, hide, and pray they do not find you."

"You saw my home town, not many people there rather small compared to most nowdays so yes I don't know what they are but I have repaired ships after their attacks well ones that weren' wrecks" she took a seat and Mew joined her listening as well just after he had finished his map. Nodding as she heard his point about them going insane. "true enough, that is probably not th reason and whatever they put in the air sound a bit like it created an illness or maybe it was one which caused a mutation in the mind." she listend to the rest of what he had to say and so did Mew. "Sound like creatures from a disturbed child's nightmare" she said raising an eyebrow slightly. "Well I cna tell you this no Reavers came to where I live, they just never got near. THey did pass though which was awfully strange and why would they want to make people more compliant and controlable. Dont they just become empty shells then. They create a new race with a short lifespan" she stopped "might want to turn back we're not too far off now. she picked up her notebook and pencil.

"Neat I now have a map, thanks Mew" she said and folded the pages into her book and Mew smiled and mewed happily pleased with himself now. "He seems calmer now, probably won't run aroudn as much. loves checking out new ships and has the strange hobbie of drawing countless maps from memory.On the plus side you never get lost" she laughed lightly. "So what is this place, rather I know it's a moon but which one?" she asked
