Angels Imprisoned
Artemis silently closed his book, setting it down gently. He had just finished a novel, a romance nobel. Not that he was in to that kind of stuff, but he would read anything. What with the way he read, who could blame him? When he read, it was like devouring books word by word, bite by bite. It took no time at all for him to finish books, it never mattered how long the book was, he would always finish it too quickly. Now that he was done with that one, which one should he choose next? He was skimming through the shelves, searching for a title he had not yet read. Even though the library had a vast amount of books, what good was it when you've already read all of them? Even Heaven didn't have as many as he liked. He supposed it was time to revist Earth again.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles sighed, stretched out on the ground, arms folded behind his head, and black wings stretched out on the ground underneath him. There was nothing to do ever, nothing that suited him. He had always been a bit of a dreamer, and spent most of his time staring into space, but even that got boring after awhile. He got up grudgingly and wandered around, trying to think of something to do. Even in heaven, he could get bored. He concidered the library, but decided against it, not feeling like reading at the moment. Then he thought of his family down on earth, and he decided he wanted to see how they were doing, though they were probably fine. So earth it was. At least it was something to do.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis set all of the books he had been reading away, back where he had found them. Even correcting a couple that had been misplaced or shoved in messily. He left the book haven, coming out into the serene sights of Heaven. There were all sorts of others milling about, so it looks fairly peaceful today. Unfortunatly, peaceful was only nice when he didn't want to be disturbed when reading. Now it was just plain boring. He walked over to a spot where he could descend, also a spot where angels could gaze down upon the earth and watch the human life go about. Some who viewed it currently were new, and watched in fastination. He looked through to where he was going once, then hopped down, ignoring the gasps from the lookers.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles walked over to one of the places surrounded by other angels, the window down to eath, as he liked to call it. He joined the people around it, gazing down on earth, his previous home. He pushed through the people and jumped down, landing easily on the grass of earth that he had missed so much. He looked around, having no idea really where he was, so he wandered, wondering if he could find his family easily. He spread his wings and took off, flying above the cities quickly until he found him hometown, not knowing weather his family still lived there, but he may as well start his search there.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
It took him a while to remember how to appear before humans, but he got it soon. He almost couldn't believe it took him time to think of it. He looked at his body, seeing how it had taken the form of a child. A middle school child, more like. He gave himself the garb of a school student, the usual black outfit with a backpack or something. Artemis walked around for a bit, searching for the human's library. He did not botherreturning the gazes he recieved from those around him, not caring to waste his time with these mortals who would more than likely only bore him.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles walked through the familiar neighborhood, disguising himself as a teenaged boy, looking about 16 or 17, with emo-styled black hair and clothing. He found the house he had used to live in and he leaned against a tree across the street, not staring at it, as much as he wanted to. He tried his best just to look like a loitering teenager, and he was pretty sure he pulled it off, until his mother walked out of his house and he grinned, completely unlike the sort of person he was immitation would. He got a strange look from his mother as she got into the car and pulled out of the driveway, leaving him alone outside, though he was sure that his sister and father were inside.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis inspected the respectable amount the human library possesed. It was smaller than Heaven's library by a lot, sure, but sometimes the humans had a few books Heaven had not re-written for themselves. He explored the bigraphy section first, a section that did not contain too many browsers. He was just about to reach for one, when hands from behind had clamped a cold grip around his waist and his mouth. He could not cry out from the shock or the cold, and he didn't understand why the mortals were doing nothing. This could be, perhaps not a human attacker but an immortal attacker? Artemis could not linger on the matter for he drifted into a forced slumber.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles watched his family come and go for quite a bit, changing appearances and watching places every once and awhile, not wanting to worry then that some creepy teenager was watching the house. He was an eight year old boy now, wearing blue jeans and a green sweater, sitting in the grass and 'looking at the clouds'. His father got into his truck now, driving off to work for the afternoon, and he glanced around, making sure nobody was watching as he changed his appearance again, a kid his own age, well, how old he was when he died, with blonde hair in the skater cut, and just wearing normal clothes that a teenager would, when there was a hand over his mouth and his eyes snapped open, an arm going around his waist. He struggled for a few moments before drifting into an unnatural sleep.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis' vision slowly came into focus, his mind heavy and sluggish. The last thing he could recall? Being grabbed from behind, from something or someone not mortally human. His mind was working as hard as it could, yet it was still going unbearably slow. He realized that he must have been drugged or something. He tried to move, hearing the clinking of metal wracking against metal, and glancing over and focusing as best as he could, he saw chains twisted around his arms, holding him in place. Chains twisted all around his body. Obviously someone didn't want him moving or escaping. He looked to the other side, slightly surprised to see another figure there, bound as tightly as him.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles tried to pull himself to conciousness, but him mind was too drugged up. It was like swimming with heavy clothes on, weighing him down. He struggled with it a bit before groggily opening his eyes, letting out a groan. He shifted slightly, the pulling on him causing him to look down at his body, seeing chains wound around him, holding in place. He looked up, around the room, surprised to see someone else bound there, and he raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Who're you?" he asked somewhat thickly, still not really awake.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis was slightly unsure whether to converse with this other being. Obviously he was a prisoner here as well, so it couldn't hurt to speak to him. "I must ask you first," he spoke, looking the other over. He would wait for this other person to speak to him, not willing to be the first to give his identity. With a quick inspection of this other, Artemis confirmed that this other was not mortal, such as he would think, but an immortal being, like him. He wondered if there were anymore immortal beings around here.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles waited wearliy for the other to give his name, not really that surprised when he asked for his own first. His identity wasn't important. He was pretty much a nobody, so he didn't care about giving out his name. "I'm Miles. . . now who're you?" he asked again. He figured that finding out who this other being was would possiobly help figure out why they were there, and who had kidnapped them. He was extremely confused, and he was eager to get out, though from the chains he was guessing that the two of them weren't meant to get out for a long time, if not ever.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Deciding it would be fairly safe to reveal his name to the other captured stranger, Artemis answered. "I am Artemis," he simply said. He said nothing more than that, not wanting to display too much of his confusion of the predicament, or his curiousity of where and why they were where ever it was. He looked up at the chains binding his wrists, then at the way the chains twisted around to bind his body in place. Clearly resistance would be futile. Just a waste of energy.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles nodded in acknowledgement. He looked more closely at where they were, not able to distinguish much, but he assument they were in some sort of dungeon or something. "So, uh, Artemis. Any idea where we are?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Really, there was no reason for him to be abducted, seeing as he was pretty much worthless. Not like he was important or anything.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis looked at the other -- Miles-- asking him where they were. "Unfortunatly, I do not know myself. This place does not feel familiar to me, and I doubt it would mean anything to you as well." Artemis could not know anything of the place they were in, though he wish he did. He hated not knowing things, not knowing the situation or how to get out, or what to do. Especially what to do. This was going to frustrate him sooner or later, that he did not know their captor or reason for being taken.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles sighed at his answer, letting his head drop down so his chin touched his chest. He normally thought better that way, though the unfamiliar surroundings distracted him, as well as the confusion, and a bit of panic. "It doesn't mean anything to me" he agreed with a nod, raising his head. "I can't see why I was abducted though. . . I don't know about you, but I'm pretty much a nobody" he made a face. He didn't want to know what would happen to them, but at the same time he was curious, in a scared kind of way.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
"I am no one special, as well," Artemis replied, trying to figure out why they could possibly be here. It appeared as some sort of punishment, but....could either of them have done something to recieve ounishment? The only thing Artemis could think that he had done was ignore mortals. But those were just curious, or interested mortals, not worth an ounce of his time. People weren't punished for not talking to others. He didn't think so, at least.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles sighed, thinking again. Punishment crossed his mind for a moment, but he hadn't done anything wrong, so he ruled it out. "Maybe it was just a random abduction? I don't know why people would do that, but there is evil in the world no matter what some people say" he shook some hair out of his face, unable to use his hands to push it out of the way. He sighed, unable to think of many reasons as to why they were there, but he hoped to find out soon.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
"Yes," Artemis agreed, "people will always hold shadow within their hearts. It is inevitable, as shadow and light cannot exist without one another." Their captor, had he known that he had grabbed an immortal, possibly two? It was nearly impossible that he didn't. Artemis was not grabbed coincidently by any sort of mortal. And when he had been grabbed, he would have sensed the mortal miles away. He had not felt any sort of presence until he had been grabbed, which was was mostly baffled him.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
((i think the person who kidnapped them should come in soon lol running out of things to say again ^.^"))
Miles nodded in agreement, but didn't say anything. He found the way Artemis spoke a bit odd. Well, really it made his sound really smart, but he hadn't ever heard someone talk like that before. He looked around again, trying to find the exit, for if they ever did get out of the chains. He yanked and the bonds as hard as he could, accomplishing nothing more than hurting himself, but he struggled all the same, not liking the idea of behind held prisoner, for whatever reason he was there for.

Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis was just about finished with inspecting the room they were in for the second time, when he heard the rythmic sound of foot steps. A tapping, pattering kind of noise, the noise of shoes hitting the hard ground. Stones, if he heard correctly. Artemis kept his head down, maybe feighning sleep, maybe watching for feet to appear in the corner of his vision. The foot steps stopped, but he could see no feet in front of him. He looked up, startled when a pair of bright yellow eyes met his. The figure stepped out of the shadows, as if the room were divided by light and darkness, and he was just now coming into the light. The figure was hooded, clothed in something like a cloak to hide his form and figure. The only thing that was visible was his piercing eyes. The very sight of him forced fear to creep into Artemis' heart, to bring his wings out to protect him and shield him from the sight of those horrible, menacing eyes.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles heard the footsteps and started to panic, not knowing what to do, so he copied Artemis, putting his head down as the footsteps drew nearer, and as much as he wanted to know where he was, why he was there, and who had brought him there, he was terrified. He kept his gaze down for a bit longer before glancing up. He saw the cloaked figure, but couldn't see it's face, until the yellow eyes were turned on him, and he couldn't help but flinch back, fear gripping him. He was unable to move, staring into the yellow eyes until they turned away, but he didn't take his eyes from the cloaked being.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis could never had said before this ordeal, that he had been frozen in fear before. That something so terrifying had paralyzed him to the spot, unable to speak or move, only wanting to feel the safety and protection of something else, of wanting to give up so it would all go away. These yellow eyes made it feel like he had felt that all his life, now. The cloaked figure looked at him, then to Miles. When his gaze had torn away, the spell was broken, although the aura seeping from this being still scared him horribly. The being turned back to him, stepping forward and making him involuntarily jerk against his chains, causing a rattling sound to fill the room's silence. The person slowly moved their hand in front of him, raising a single pointer finger to his forehead. Shutting his eyes tightly, Artemis could feel the cold touch as his finger made contact with him. It felt like his mind was being ripped aprt, as though this one's very finger was clawing it's way violently through his mind, going through his body and soul...and straight to his wings. The wings that were hidden from mortal eyes, this one knew about them. He knew about them, and he forced them out, a shrill ripping sound as they broke through the clothes he had chosen, revealing themselves galantly before dropping down, trying to shield him. The man pulled his finger away, and the pain within withdrew, Artemis realized how hard he was panting, how fast his heart was beating, and he realized he had been screaming. The man moved to Miles, next, preforming the same thing that he had done to Artemis, to him.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Miles was terrified, not knowing what was going to happen to them. When whoever it was that had captured him touched a finger to Artemis's forehead, he had started screaming in agony, and it was as if his blood forze in his veins, knowing he was next. He saw the wings as they ripped their way through the clothes he was wearing and his heart raced. He was assuming he would get the same thing, which was completely true, as the cloaked figure moved over to him. He flinched his head back as far as it would go, and as a finger was moved towards his forehead he whipped his head around, trying to avoid it, which didn't work too well, and he felt the cold finger on him and he screamed, seeing why Artemis had been. The pain was unbearable, and he writhed in agony, wrenching against the chains binding him there, as his black wings burst through his clothes and stretched wide, sweeping around him as the finger was removed from him and he was left panting, watching the man carefully.
Re: Angels Imprisoned
Artemis saw out of the corner of his bleary vision, Mile's wings rip out from behind him, black, feathery wings. Having their wings forced out of them so roughly, against their will, had caused both of them to bleed from where the wings were attached. He could see Mile's wings quivering, the part closest to his skin was red with blood, and he could feel the hot liquid dripping down his back. Both of them had wings, which could only mean both of them, being angels, had been purposely hunted out and captured. This terrifying being was immortal, no doubt now, as no mortal possessed any sort of skill to force wings out, or to be so pertifyingly terrifying. The man watched them closely, inspecting their wings most likely. Both of them had their wings attemptingly wrapped around them, trying to become a sort of shelter from this one. The chains mostly prevented this. The man fingered both of their wings, petting, stroking sort of. He said nothing the entire time.
