Markus slept, but it was a fairly light sleep. He couldn't rest peacefully because of what had happened. He awoke at a slightly feeling upon his forehead. "Mmm... Mera?" he asked looking up. "Are... are you feeling a bit better?" he asked.

He looked up at her, complete love and adoration in his eyes. He stayed quiet... just looking up at her. His heart beat a bit quickly. "Just rest when you can... I... I hope it worked... I'm... happy you are feeling a bit better at least..." he said

Markus held her lightly, holding her close. "I... I worked as hard as I could to save you..." he said. He kissed her lightly. "I love you so much... I don't know what I would do if I ever lost you..." he said.

Markus held her close. "Hmm... now just rest for a while, doctor's orders..." he said. He stroked her face lightly. "I... I will do anything to keep you... It hurt me so much to hurt you..." he said. "I... never thought that I would have you as one of my patients..." he said. "Hopefully... we won't have to have me do what I had to again..." he said.

Markus wasn't sure... he stroked her face lightly. "I... I'm fairly sure that it will... the stress on your body wasn't good... but... it should..." he said. "I'm... not positive though... but... it looks good that... that it will love." he said. "and I'm glad as well... I'm happy that you are alive still... that... I didn't lose you..." he said.

"Aye..." he said. "Ours... ours will be as well..." he said. "I'm positive." he said. "That... that Lupa is watching us... she... she must have helped... in some way at least..." he said. He kissed her. I know... it looks a bit bleak... but I have faith... our miracle will happen as well." he said.

"Shifter children are normally the first born the rest after that are normal earth bound children" she said looking down "Markus... I've had a child before" she said "we both have".

Markus didn't know much about children... he looked at her. "Our... child wont be a shifter?" he asked. It... did make sense... that the gift was only passed to the first child... "I'll love it all the same anyways." he said with a smile. He kept optimistic... until he was shown otherwise... he kept it in his head that their child was safe.

"I could..." he said kissing her. "I love you." he said. "Our child will still be our child... I would love it no matter what." he said stroking her face lightly. He frowned lightly. "It... might be hard... especially what what their parents will be... but..." he thought a moment. "It will still be our child..." he said smiling lightly.

"Yeah..." Markus said closing his eyes as well. Feeling her start to fall asleep. He prayed silently to Lupa, that she would be safe... that the child would be safe... he prayed, and just held her as she slept... he kissed her lightly, lovingly.

Lith awoke and got up to run the bath with hot water, once run she slipped off her clothing and lay in the tub with her eyes shut as she relaxed. The water still and warm around her as her sore muscles relaxed.

It wasn't long until Daniel awoke. He couldn't feel Lith close to him. First he was worried... wondering where she had gone. He looked up to the bathroom door... he figured it out, hearing her. He relaxed in bed... his mind buzzing, questions... wondering what would become of Mera... was she getting better or... was she doomed from the moment the bullet hit her... he knew that today would be big... that he would have to find a way to make peace... or if they would have to run.

Lith lay there quietly and closed her eyes. The night had been hard but today would be harder on both her and Daniel, they would have to find a way to make peace and stay in the place that was now home to their children.

Daniel sat up in bed and moved to the bathroom door. He knocked lightly. "Lith? I'm... sorry to interrupt your bath... but... well... I don't know... it's just worrying to stay with my thoughts." he said with a little laugh. He was causing himself to worry so much.

Lith opened her eyes very slowly as she heard a nock. She smiled softly at her love "You can come in.." she said with a laugh. "I know... Sit for a moment. Let out what's on your mind" she said leaning over the edge of her bath to look up at him.

Daniel walked in and sat down, looking to her as she looked up at him. "I'm... just not sure... I'm... I'm worried... that I won't be able to protect the pack..." he said. "I'm... not sure that I will be able to reason with them... I don't want the rest of the pack to suffer what happened last night... and I don't want any humans harmed either..." he said. He was obviously troubled.

"Very wise my love. But maybe I could talk to them... I think I may be able to sort something out..." she said thinking. "I'm determined not to lose this land" she said. "our girls need to grow up knowing both sides of this life, hard and easy but we need them to learn it without being on the run" she said.
