Alec didn't have to look around to know no one was around them in the Institute. Isabelle was in the kitchen, so Jace and Clary were most likely hiding to avoid eating whatever it was she was cooking. They might not even be here in the Institute. Sometimes avoiding Isabelle's cooking called for drastic measures. Alec had no idea where Magnus got the assumption of what lingered around the food places that involved old men. He kind of believed him, but on the other hand, Magnus could be being paranoid. "Uhh, okay, Magnus. I'm up for whatever we come across, I guess." He could go for anything right about now, seeing as he hadn't eaten since yesterday.

Magnus nodded as they continued to walk down the endless hallways of the Institute. "Alright. Now how much farther is it in this place? It's like a laberynth" he sighed, looking down hallways as they walked past. He twined his fingers through Alec's, the familiar feeling of the calloused hand in his comforting. Soon they would be completely on their way to get something to eat, get to his loft, and finally have some time alone to do whatever they pleased. He was looking foreward to it.

"Just down this hall," he told Magnus, having known the entire interior of the Institute, having lived here most of his life. He was kind of glad he was here because if he'd lived in Idris he wouldn't have met Magnus under the conditions of them falling in love. They reached the door to exit the Institute, walking out into the slightly humid air, humming with traffic and other people milling about. Alec hesitated if he should pull his hand away from Magnus now that they were out with more people who could stop and stare at the gay couple. But he was over Jace, wasn't that the whole reason he'd been hiding? He kept his hand entwined with Magnus' though, because he felt, even just a little, a bit more confident with their relationship.

((lol weve got the worst timing. im just popping on and off though. . . the whole familys over, so i keep sneaking up. I GOT A FLUTE!! AHH!! and haha yeah they do here, its weird and kinda scares me XD))

Magnus was thankful that they would finally be out of it. "Are you positive?" he asked caustiously, before he saw the door. "Oh, okay never mind" he shrugged, walking out into the street. He took a deep breath of air. "Ahh, gotta love the smoggy Brooklyn air. Although there's nothing quite like Idris when it comes to air" he said, laughing slightly. He looked down at their hands that were still entertwined. "You didn't pull away" he pointed out, raising an eyebrow and smiling. He was glad of that fact, but also quite curious.

"I hate Brooklyn," Alec said automatically, as was his catchphrase type of thing every time Brooklyn was mentioned. "And the air isn't all that great, at least in the city areas." And then he realized Magnus was kind of joking. "Oh, yeah, I guess I didn't, huh?" He looked at their hands holding each other, and it made him feel like they were meant to be together.

Magnus laughed slightly and shook his head, figuring that Alec didn't realize that he was being sarcastic. For living with Jace most of his life, you would think the Shadowhunter would know sarcasm when he heard it. A smile stretched it's way over his face easily. "You guess? Hmm, I think you like it. Like I said before, publicity is a good thing, Cutie" he said, laughing and bringing their entwined hands to his mouth and kissing the back of Alec's, watching him carefully as he let their hands fall back between them, completely ignoring the looks they god. He was used to funny looks, the way his appearance was most of the time.

Flushing at a pet name in public, Alec glanced around out of the corner of his eyes. He could see heads turning sometimes, and more turned when Magnus kissed his hand. He still didn't pull away, but he was kind of wishing it wasn't so public. He had to kind of admit, the publicity was kind of nice, feeling like he didn't have to closet himself so much.

Magnus grinned even wider when Alec blushed but still didn't pull away. That really made the warlock happy. He wasn't shying away from PDA. He was getting more open with their relationship, which was exactly what he wanted. It might have been the after affects of the thing in his head, or it might just be Alec getting braver. He hoped for the latter. "Alright, so eat before we get on the subway or after?" he asked, looking down the street to the subway entrance, crowded by mundies.

"Before, I guess? Or actually, whenever the next subway train leaves." Whatever would work better for them, because Alec didn't see the point in going to eat now if the subway was going to leave soon, going to eat, and having to wait longer. Or if the subway had some time before it left, there was no sense in just sitting and waiting.

Magnus concidered what Alec said, approaching the entrance to the subway, pushing through the crowds of people. He couldn't help the thought that mundies were like cockroaches, swarming everywhere. "Hmm, alright, well judging by the crowds, I'd say that the train just left" he said, eyeing the people pushing their way out. He jerked and shot a man a glare as he was shoved to the side. "Apparently someone's in a rush" he muttered, causing the man's hat to vanish. He would probably think it had been stolen by somebody but he didn't care. Nobody pushed Magnus Bane out of the way. Especially not some mudane.

"Okay, so we'll go eat," Alec replied, looking around at all the Mundies gathered for the train. If only half of them were Shadowhunters. Idris might be a little more crowded, but that was better than lacking. "What do you want to eat?" he asked Magnus, moving a little closer to Magnus when he felt people shoving against him in a hurry. For what, he wasn't sure, because the train had already come and gone.

Magnus nodded in agreement, descending into the tunnel and looking around at the fast food joints he knew would be down there. "Uh. . . something greasy and fattening. . . that narrows it down toooo. . . everything down here. What do you want?" he asked, still scanning the stores, but also keeping an eye on Alec. He didn't want someone to think he wasn't paying any attention and try something on him. He didn't trust some of these Mundy girls.

"Um, I guess I'm in the mood for some meat or something, which is still about everything down here, from the looks of it." Alec looked around at the joints. Not much differentiation with some of these places. He could see some people checking them out, either as a couple or for the less intelligent ones, as potential targets. "McDonalds' is pretty cheap, might as well go for that." He walked over there with Magnus. This place was one of the more greasy places, so he didn't want to eat too much from here. It'd be a pain to work off all of the calories later. "I just want a cheeseburger and a drink." Maybe they could get healthier food at Magnus' place later.

Magnus laughed and nodded his agreement. Everything in the place was greasy meat. Which helped prove his old men theory. Sure, he was older than anybody that they would find in Brooklyn by at least 700 years, but he didn't look it, so it was all good. "All right, McDonalds it is" he said, walking towards it. He walked up to the little resteraunt, the smell of hamburgers hitting him like a brick wall and making his stomach growl. He got into the line, eyeing one of the men that fit his description of creepy pedo men, who was looking right back at the two of them. He instinctively pulled Alec's hand closer, glaring at the man darkly.

Alec said nothing about Magnus pulling him closer. He just trusted in what he was doing and let him. "Err, what're you gonna get?" he asked his boyfriend, who gave off this protecting aura as he glared at someone. Perhaps one of the people he said that hung around fast food places? He looked around for one of these kinds of people, and found that there were quite a few of them. Why hadn't he noticed this before? Oh, yeah, he was oblivious to a lot of things, that's right.

"Hm? Oh, I'm just going to get some fries and a drink" Magnus replied, glancing down at Alec before back up, glaring at a few more of the creepy people around, quite a few of which were staring at them. Well, more specifically, Alec, and the fact that they were holding hands. If anybody at all tried anything, they wouldn't have a head within five seconds of doing something. And then he might just have to fix a few people's minds, but it was worth it if he stopped someone from touching Alec or something. He stepped up to the couter when it was their turn. "Uhm, I'lll get a cheeseburger and fries, a pepsi, and- what do you want to drink?" he looked down at Alec for his answer.

((Buddy! In RoF I just bought a 100,000 gun! It helped level Zephyr up two, and I lent Leanne and Vashyron the machine gun to level them up too! I'm broke now, but it was sooo worth it!))

"Pepsi is fine," he said, since he wasn't picky at all about soft drinks. Alec could drink about anything, except tea Isabelle made. Hodge had been good at making tea, too bad Isabelle couldn't have learned a thing or two from him though. Her coffee wasn't that bad either, he guessed, but she tended to burn the water. Not like that was possible.

Magnus nodded, turning back to the girl at the counter. She looked about Alec's age. Which was around the age he himself looked, he suposed. "Alright, then two pepsis" he finished, taking money out of his pocket that hadn't been there a second ago and handing it to the girl. He let go of Alec's hand to fix his hair, making sure that the ponytail wasn't falling out. He turned around and leaned against the counter, still keeping close beside Alec. Shadowhunter or not, he didn't want the creepy old men getting to him.

Alec looked around at the people in the place. Other than the masses of old creepy men that he'd never noticed before, there were an awful lot of girls. Something else he noticed was that usually girls never traveled alone. There were groups in this area, staring at them and snickering. He would have been more uncomfortable if he were straight and cared what they thought about him. He was actually pretty glad he wasn't, or that he didn't know what it was like to be straight. He'd hate to be like Jace and always checking out girls.

Magnus looked around the crowds, noticing Alec doing the same thing while they waited for their food. "Hmm, looks like this place is full of giggly teenaged girls and pedo old men" he commented, raising a thin eyebrow. He could find an occasional middle-aged lady, and they even looked out of place in the swarms of people. Not like he and Alec didn't stick out. But he enjoyed being the center of attention.

"Isn't that what most places are filled with?" Alec asked, though Idris might be the only exception. Nice places like museums and libraries even had these kinds of groups that weren't even there for the purposes of the buildings. Silly Mundanes needed to get a life, a better life than the fragile, pansy-like life they had already.

Magnus concidered it for a moment before slowly nodding. "Yeah, I supposed they are. Stupid mundies. They need better hobbies than loitering" he shook his head, turning when he heard the crunching of a paper bag behind them and their food was ready. "Yum, 100 calories in every bite! I can feel my arteries clogging already" he said, picking up the bag and looking at the tide of people, starting to push his way through so they could find somewhere to eat. "Careful Alec, don't let the pedos get you" he called, having to raise his voice slightly over the noise, as he grabbed his Shadowhunter's hand.

"Yeah, one hundred calories for every bite.....fantastic," Alec muttered, wondering how true that could be. Magnus was probably joking though, as he always was. Could people actually feel their arteries clogging too? Alec took care to weave around the people and not let them get too close so an 'accidental' brush against them couldn't be something else.

Once they got to a clearer part of the crowded station Magnus stopped and looked around. "See anywhere where we could eat?" he asked Alec, his catlike eyes scanning carefully. He could always create their own place to sit, but that would draw attention and get him in trouble with people. Probably the Clave. And that wasn't a very good idea. "Or do I need to make room?" he raised an eyebrow. He could always talk people out of it. Scaring people always worked when you looked like him. Except that he wasn't as flamboyant and sparkly as he normally was. It didn't work as easily.

"I'm sure that's not necessary," Alec said quickly, seeing as it would be bad for their world to even be hinted with Magnus using magic. "There's a spot over here." He made his way to a table that didn't have too many people around it. He edged away a bit from some men who decided it was natural to walk past him invading his space. He was hoping Magnus wouldn't do much about it though in case he overreacted to it and made them disappear or something.
