Alec scoffed and rolled his eyes halfheartedly. People would be jealous of anything of him? Alec thought that was ridiculous. Now Isabelle, maybe. She had the nice black hair, smooth and straight, while his was messy and a little uneven with the cut. "I don't know how I abuse hair, but, all right?" he said, figuring maybe brushing it a couple more times might be 'not abusing it' in Magnus' book. Or maybe it would be more along the lines of using more hair products, like conditioner, or some other thing he hadn't heard of but was sure Izzy and Magnus used. "Your hair is a lot nicer, I bet people would like yours more than mine any day."

Magnus laughed, continuing to work out all the knots. "Well that may be true, people may like mine better, if I don't scare them off first. But yours could be just as nice if you treated it right. Got it cut nicely, and layered instead of cut unevenly. You'd still have the same messy-haired look that I think is adorable on you, but it would be nicer, and if you used conditioner it would be even softer than it already is-if thats possible- and it would be all shiny" he explained, getting as much as he could into that without making it seem to flamboyant, or suggesting he did something different with it. He finished combing the wet dark hair out and he put the comb down, ducking his head to kiss Alec's shoulder. "All done" he said simply, shrugging.

Alec kind of got what he was talking about, but some of the terms stumped him. He might ask his sister about it later if he remembered exactly what Magnus had said. When Magnus was done he looked up to him and gave him a kiss on the lips before taking the towel with him to go get his clothes. Now if it were the Institute he would never walk around with just a towel. Only Magnus and possibly Chairman Meow would see him like this. He reached his clothes by the couch, making a face at the bloody, torn shirt and the filthy pants. Maybe Magnus could lend him some clothes.

Magnus smiled when Alec looked up and kissed him. He followed slowly as Alec left the room, liking the idea of Alec walking around his house wearing nothing but one of his towels. He opened his mouth to comment as such before he saw the clothes on the floor. He eyed them with disgust. "I'm not letting you put those clothes back on wheather you want to or not. I've got some things that should fit you" he turned and walked into his bedroom, not bothering to put on clothes of his own before he started sorting through his closet. He knew there were limits as to what Alec would wear, so he picked out darker colours, but avoiding the black. He tossed a pair of dark skinny jeans and a navy blue t-shirt with a band logo on it behind him before emerging and looking down at his choices, that he was pretty sure would fit Alec.

Alec took the clothes from Magnus, thanking him because he didn't have to wear those disgusting clothes now. One of them would burn them, who ever kept or took them home. Alec hid a slight grimace at the skinny jeans. He never wore something so tight. They fit well enough, although the legs were a little long. The shirt was fine, maybe because he usually wore clothes on the long side. When he was done with them he slung the towel over the couch and went to Magnus, wrapping his arms loosely around his waist. "I gotta head home, mmkay?" he said, "I'll be careful and all." He'd be more wary of the streets now, and he'd have to avoid being alone too long. He had Izzy and his parents and Magnus. Alec left Magnus with a kiss and jogged home to make sure he wasn't out too long.

Magnus grinned at the sight of Alec wearing his clothes, tempted to comment about how hot he looked in tight jeans, but then the Shadowhunter had his arms wrapped around his waist. "'Kay. You'd better be. Don't make me act like an overprotective mother and give you a lecture about creepers" he warned, only half teasing. Too soon his little Nephilim was gone, and he was left alone in his home to catch up on some sleep he dearly needed.

It was nearly three months since Alec had been abducted by Valentine and Sebastian, only to be rescued in the same 24 hours, and there was no sign of the two, as far as he knew. And he was trusting the Lightwoods to tell him as soon as either of them was sighted. Magnus had spent his time well, he thought, heightening his security, seeing Alec, and he had had a few outings that he went looking for engagement rings. He still had no idea how Alec would respond if he proposed, but you never know until you try. He was sure he had found the perfect one, just a simple thin gold band that he had had runes engraved into. He was going to do this right. Lying on his bed, he pulled out his phone. When youre not busy, come over? :3. He sent the message and picked up a magazine, waiting for a reply.

Isabelle laughed at Alec, who was trying hard to keep comfortable in the chair, which was hard to do because of his protruding stomach. "Izzy," he whined, making a face, "shut up, it's not funny. Wait until this happens to you, and then I can laugh at you because you'll be moody and your feet will hurt and you can't sit down or lay down comfortably." He listed off whatever was wrong with him at the moment. People had been a little careful about what they said since he was prone to mood swings. They both stopped in what they were doing when Adam Lambert's "If I had you" song played in his pocket. Isabelle burst into a new fit of laughter as Alec pulled his phone out and checked the text. He still couldn't figure out how to change the ringtone. I can come over now. Just talking to Izzy. See you soon Colon three? What was that? He turned it side ways because Isabelle and Magnus told him about the text faces they could make. He saw it once he turned it. He ditched Isabelle and left for Magnus' place. He used a rune to hide from the Mundanes, but he wore extra layers so it didn't look too obvious of his pregnancy. Three more months to go through, Isabelle liked to tell him. He was always tired these days, tired and moody. Alec didn't always like asking Magnus for a portal, even though he needed them more. His pride didn't like it. He walked there, and it only took fifteen to thirty minutes. He used his key on the door, taking a breather once he was inside. Magnus would greet him as he always did.

Magnus looked up when he got a text, opening it and smiling. So he didn't have to wait very long. Kay, love you <3 he sent back, looking back down to the magazine and flipping the page. He continued reading until he heard the unmistakable sound of the door unlocking. He dropped his reading material where it was, leaving his bedroom and heading to the front door. "Hey, biscuit" he greeted with a grin. He wrapped his long arms around Alec's rather overlarge waist, slightly missing the lean muscled body he used to pull against him. But that would be back soon enough. "How're you feeling today?" he asked, knowing how crappy being pregnant could be.

Biscuit? That one was kind of new to Alec. Magnus must have liked to call him whatever came to mind, maybe. "Bleh, I guess," Alec responded, since he had his good days and his bad days. "Not the best but I know it could be worse, and I'm glad it's not. I had to deal with Izzy's harassing today, and I'm bored out of my mind because no one will let me train." Not that he could blame them, but he still wanted to, as long as he had the energy and didn't hurt. "So, what's up?" he asked, nuzzling the crook of Magnus' neck affectionately. His mother seemed to be ignoring the idea that he was male and pregnant, and just going for the fact that she'd have a grandchild. His father seemed to like the idea too, but it would appear the fact that his male son was having the child that disturbed him ever so slightly.

Magnus hummed sympathetically at the answer, feeling bad for his poor Alec. He felt bad enough for pregnant women, having to deal with being fat and all the stupid things that came along with pregnancy, and now it was his darling Alec who was suffering. "Well I'm glad they won't. I'd be incredibly angry if they actually let you train" he sighed, shaking his head. "Mmm, well I was reading a magazine, and I was lonely. I'm glad you're here" he replied, kissing the top of Alec's head when he nuzzled into his neck. "Now let's stop standing in my doorway and go sit down. Couch or bed?" he ended in a question.

"Hmph," Alec grunted when Magnus agreed with their reasoning. He also never understood why magazines would be entertaining. They only lasted about ten minutes. A real book would consist of a week or so worth of reading. "Umm, couch? Wait, bed. Hang on, what for?" Alec asked, raising an eyebrow in suspicion. They didn't ultimately do a lot of touching after his fourth or fifth month of pregnancy, but they did what they could for their sexual pleasure. Couch or bed for what now?

Magnus raised an eyebrow at Alec's slight indecision before asking the question, apparently suspicious. "Relaxing. Is that a word you Shadowhunters hear often?" he teased, laughing. "I'm not going to take advantage of you in your weakened state, don't worry. We can talk, or watch tv, or just sit and enjoy each other's company. Isn't that what normal couples do? And I'm sure you want to get off of your feet" he pointed out, looking down at Alec's feet pointedly. He knew they hurt, which made sense while toting around more weight than he was used to.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Oh. Um, okay," he said, suspicions cleared for now. "I guess that's what normal couples do, but I dunno. Clary and Jace used to hide in their rooms for a couple hours and then hit the shower. And Izzy would just go meet in some downworlder place and make out or whatever she does. I don't actually know what normal couples do." He walked in farther so they could go to the couch. "I hate being tired so often," he sighed. "And hurting. I mean, Shadowhunters never escape pain, but I haven't even done anything that involves Shadowhunter-ish-ness business."

Magnus chuckled, not really surprised. "Well, I don't think you can call any of them very normal. I'm getting my information from the tv. People always just sit around and talk, make out, gossip. It's all the same stuff. But occasionally there are shows that feature a couple fighting demons together" he grinned slightly. Those couples were never gay though. He followed Alec farther into his house, sitting down on the couch once they reached it. He settled into his overlarge couch. "I know honey. I try to help as best I can, but pregnancy fights pretty hard against things like this. Just natural pain. And I don't want to harm the baby or something with my magic" he frowned, thinking of the possibilities.

"Don't worry about it," Alec sighed. "I'll either get used to it or just wait it out another three months." Six months so far, three months wouldn't be too hard to wait out. Unfortunately in those three months he'd be getting bigger, so then maybe he didn't know how bad it could get in those next months. "I dunno if magic would affect the baby or not," he commented, never really having thought about it. "I think it'd be fine, but I guess it's not worth taking the risks if we don't really know for sure." Why play with chance? No matter how the odds looked, Alec wouldn't mess with them.

Magnus sighed, wrapping his arms around Alec. "Three months is a long time. Well, not for me, but for you maybe. Living for 800 years, three months is nothing. But I can't wait" he added the last part quieter than the rest, smiling slightly. Warlocks were supposed to be sterile, so this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and he assumed just the blood of angel and demon mixing, the outcome strange, but he was excited. "Better to not risk it" he agreed, nodding. He wouldn't be risking anything with that. Which was one of the reasons he was glad nobody was letting Alec train. God knows what could happen then.

"Neither can I," Alec responded. "What were we gonna name our kid? If it was a boy or girl?" They hadn't really talked much about what they were going to name their kid, and Alec hadn't even thought much about it in the first place. Isabelle had been asking him about it quite a bit, but he'd wave it away and say they'd get to it eventually. She also wanted him to go to some maternity store and buy some clothes, and of course buy some baby clothes. Alec wasn't all that interested in shopping, Isabelle could go buy these things on her own if she really wanted to, but apparently she thought Alec's opinion would work. Maybe he should recommend Magnus for that job instead.

Magnus thought about the question for a moment. He hadn't given it much thought really, but he's been around long enough to know which names he liked. "Hmm. . . I think. . . for a boy I like the name Skylar. . . and for a girl I like Braylin. What do you think?" he asked, kissing his cheek lightly. Somehow thinking about names made this whole thing feel even more real. He still had that nagging doubt in the back of his head saying 'this can't be real, can it?' just because Warlocks were sterile, and his lover was a male. But by Alec's situation, it was hard not to see that he was pregnant.

Alec thought about those names and decided that he liked them. The first name was common enough, although he'd never heard of the second name before. "Those are good," he said, "I can't wait until we can actually use them." He hadn't really thought of anything better. He hadn't thought of anything at all, even in the time they were just given to think, he had come up with everything blank. He rested his head on Magnus' shoulder, feeling rather disproportional because everything about his body was pretty normal, but then he had a larger stomach. It would be a pain to work all of this off and get his physique back. He'd do it though, because he knew both he and Magnus missed that physique he had.

Magnus smiled, tilting his head lightly against Alec's. "I can't either. How's this going to work anyways? Is our kid going to live here or at the Institute?" he asked, frowning slightly. He had thought about it, but never really asked Alec. He thought his house was safer, away from the Clave's prying eyes, but at the same time he had Downworlders tromping through his home all the time. But if Alec accepted his proposal, then they would move in together? Hopefully. Then they could live like a normal, slightly disfunctional family.

"Umm," Alec began, contemplating the matter. "Switch back and forth? I dunno, I didn't think about that either." Isabelle had, sort of. She'd been talking about getting to babysit when they wanted a night alone, and how she could see their kid running around the Institute when it learned to walk. She'd been thinking Alec would either keep the kid there or at least switch back and forth from Magnus' place and their place. He really hadn't thought about living arrangements. Would living at the Institute or Magnus' place be better? Better question; what would be safer? "What did you have in mind?"

Magnus nodded, not surprised that Alec hadn't thought about it. "Well. I had a few options in mind. But the main one is. . . " he took a deep breath, having made his decision unconciously somewhere in the past thirty seconds. He got off of the couch and got on one knee, opening his hand and the case for the ring he had bought appeared in his hand. He was fairly sure Alec would agree, not that he was bigheaded or something. He looked up at him through his lashes, grinning slightly. "Alexander Lightwood. . . will you marry me?" he asked, opening the case.

For a minute Alec thought Magnus was going somewhere when he made a move to get up, but when he went straight back down on his knee and had what was undoubtedly a small ring case appear, Alec's heart stopped a moment. His breath caught in his chest as he realized what Magnus was going to do. All those soap operas from Izzy hinted this the same way. Magnus asked him one of the most important questions he'd ever received in his life. The ring he saw was simple and gold, runes decorated it finely. Alec held still a moment, mind traveling no where except to the idea of spending the rest of his life with Magnus, legitimately together. "Magnus," he breathed, in awe, "yes! Yes, I will marry you!" Alec took the ring and slid it easily on to his ring finger on his left hand. It fit perfectly, and Alec found himself moving as fast as he could to embracing Magnus, crying lightly with the emotion that had moved him. Magnus thought of everything he didn't and more. "I love you, Magnus. I can't think of anyone I'd rather be with forever."

Magnus grinned a bit wider at the expression on Alec's face. Then he heard his name on his boyfriend's lips, and he knew what the answer would be even before he said it. But hearing it made him grin wider than he could ever remember he had before. Then Alec had the ring on and had flung himself at him. Magnus caught him in his arms, holding him tightly, but still mindfull of his stomach. He could feel Alec crying, and figured it was his pregnancy mixing with his emotions. "I love you too Alec. So much" he replied, holding him close, silent for a minute. "Alec? I think you're glowing" he said, laughing slightly as he thought about the conversation they had had a while back about that. If there was any time Alec would be glowing, it would be now. Although he was sure he himself was glowing more than he normally did as well.

Alec remembered the question he had asked about glowing the day he had been rescued, and he smiled at the reference Magnus had just made. "Glowing, huh?" he asked, "you think so?" He figured this was just typical happiness caused from just getting pre-hitched to the love of his life, but thinking again, typical, not-emotional, not-pregnant Alec, would he have been so overjoyed and even at the point of crying? Maybe not. Maybe Alec was glowing right now. "When did you plan on having this wedding?" he asked, as the thought occured to him. If Magnus was going to put him in a dress or a tux, or whatever, it might look odd now because he was showing enough. "And are we gonna tell the others?" Who was Magnus going to tell? Alec didn't know any of his friends, but they'd be telling Alec's family, which would now also be officially Magnus' family too.
