"I don't think so, I know so" Magnus replied, laughing slightly and kissing Alec on the forehead. At the question he smiled slightly. He had thought about that quite a bit. "Well, maybe a few months after you give birth, I was thinking. Give us some time to get the baby settled in, and allow you to regain your manly physique. And then we won't raise suspicions from some" he said, laying out his thoughts. Plus, he was sure Alec would look a hell of a lot better in a tux when he wasn't pregnant. "Well, of course we're going to tell. Your family will have to know. But how big a wedding to you want? How many people I tell will have to depend on that" he refused to have a tiny wedding with only a few people, but if Alec didn't want a massive one they didn't have to.

Alec snorted at Magnus' twin desire for the return of his manly physique. He'd have something to work hard for before their wedding, like most people, who worked to lose weight to fit in their wedding attire. "Well, there will be my family; my parents and Izzy, and if her silly Mundane wants to come too, Simon, he could." Simon was brooding over the fact that Clary was gone. "Whoever my parents trust would go, I guess. And whoever you trust." He didn't want a lot of attention, and they couldn't attract unwanted attention either. They had to avoid two sides of attention. "Something of decent size, I guess. Not too big, not too small."

Magnus listened to the list, nodding. "Mm'kay. I'll invite a few close friends then. It'll all work out well. And you might want to let Isabelle know what she can and can't do, because I know for a fact she wants to help with everything" he grinned slightly. Sure, a few friends for him was more than Alec would consider a few, but he was going to be particular about it. He knew who he could and couldn't trust for the most part. A few of the fey, a couple fellow warlocks, just friends. People he knew would be ecstatic for them. "Now what are my chances of getting you in a dress?" he asked, grinning widely. He was sure it was slim to none, but it was always safe to ask. For all he knew, Alec's pregnancy could make him want to embrace his feminine side.

"Well, we both know Izzy won't be cooking, but she could set up what's to be cooked if she wanted," he started off with. Everyone banned Isabelle from cooking for every occasion, she just never got the hint that she wasn't good at it. "Um...a dress?" Alec questioned. He thought about it, though he shouldn't even have to think about it. "Now what would my parents think if I paraded around in a dress?" Isabelle might like it, she might like it for a good laugh and because she'd probably be the one picking it out. His parents may find it comical for a moment, but then they'd really question him about it and then it might just not go so well from there. "The chances of getting me in a dress are pretty slim, Magnus. You might wanna try another time when my parents won't be there." Even then Alec might not wanna put one on.

"Mm, yeah. No way I'm letting her cook" Magnus muttered. He grinned as Alec repeated what he said, and continued to grin as Alec answered. "Hmm, then there's a chance I'll get you in one later?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. "Mmm, I can only imaging how hot you'd be in a dress. A nice revealing one" his tone was teasing, but he was dead serious. If only he could get Alec into a french maid type outfit. Nothing else could compare. He shifted into a more comfortable position on the floor, thinking about getting up and sitting back on the couch, but he didn't want to let go of Alec.

"I think putting a male Shadowhunter in a dress once he's gained his manly physique back would look quite awkward," Alec muttered, trying not to picture himself in a dress. A skimpy short dress that might be the key source to the warlock's fantasies. "So, did you want to go tell my family now or did you have something else in mind?" he asked, not sure what else Magnus might have in mind. Usually in Izzy's soap operas they'd make out, make love, then possibly skip to the wedding. Alec and Magnus could make out any day, making love was kind of hard these days, and the wedding would take some time. They'd have to tell family and possible friends before that, so Alec assumed that would be the next part of the plan.

Magnus laughed, loving how straightforeward Alec could be with things like that. "Awkward? I think'd you'd look adorable. And sexy" he half purred, grinning widely. "Hmm, we may as well get that out of the way. I just hope your mother takes it well, and doesn't take a seraph blade to my gorgeous face" he grimaced slightly. Maryse when she was angry wasn't a very good thing for who/whatever she was mad at. "Think she'll kill me for corrupting her eldest child completely? She wasn't too happy about the whole thing when she first found out" he sighed, still able to hear her voice in his head. 'My son isn't gay, thank you very much'. She really had no idea.

"She might not kill you," he said, "if you're on your best behaviour she might not." Alec doubted his mother would kill his precious boyfriend, or even scar him. She had said when they were little that she'd do whatever she could to make her children happy, even though she was never around. She wouldn't do something to upset Alec. Right now, at this point she might even be happy, because not only would her first child be having her first grandchild, but he'd be first out of the house, so to speak. Alec picked himself up and guided Magnus along, mainly because he needed to distribute his weight a little to get up easier. He grimaced as his back popped when he stood up fully. His back was popping a lot, and not like it was uncomfortable, but it was getting annoying.

"Then I'll be on my best behavior" Magnus laughed, getting up as well. "What exactly does that include?" he asked after a moment, rubbing Alec's back when he saw the grimace and heard the pop. It didn't sound painful but more. . . awkward. He hoped Maryse would be okay with this though. He was sure they would have Robert's support, since he was apparently fine with it as long as he was serious, which marriage would definitely show. 800 years old and never married, and now he was engaged to a gorgeous young Shadowhunter boy. That had to say something about how much he loved him.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Umm, I'm not exactly sure, but I know something along the lines of not taunting them, not provoking them, anything that might make them look down on you with the stereotypical downworlder 'low'." His parents weren't quite so stereotypical anymore, but anything that would prove their theory would let all their thoughts come back. He entwined his hand with Magnus' hand, leading him to the front door. "Wanna walk, or do you wanna use your portal?" Alec didn't mind either, but he'd need to put a rune on himself before he went outside. Mundanes had never seen a pregnant male, no doubt.

Magnus pouted, crossing his arms. "Aww, but that's no fun! I don't think I want to be on my best behavior then. . . but if my face is in jeapordy here, maybe I should. . ." he pretended to think it over, making a face. "Hmm, as much as I would love a nice stroll with you, I think a portal might be better" he said, taking Alec's hand before creating the portal, straight to the kitchen of the Institute. He still didn't know the building much better. He had no idea how this was going to go, other than Isabelle freaking out. There was no doubt about that part.

Alec stepped into the portal with Magnus, into the kitchen, which was to be expected. Magnus could only portal where he'd been, or at the very least seen. Maryse and Robert where drinking coffee in the kitchen before stopping and staring at the portal that had randomly appeared in their kitchen. Isabelle had almost walked right into it when it had appeared. She stopped and stared as her brother walked in through the portal with his boyfriend. Alec looked at all of them, feeling a little different because now he'd be part of another family, he'd be part of Magnus' family, and Magnus would be their legitimate family. "Um...hey, guys," Alec began with timidly. "I...well, no, we, we had something to say." He looked to his boyfriend, or rather, now it was his fiance. Did Magnus want to say something first? Maybe hint it at least?

Magnus was a bit surprised to find them all in the one room, but this made it more convenient for them. He knew he was smiling, but he was sure he couldn't get the look off of his face at this point. Unless someone decided to piss him off. When Alec started talking he grinned. He could tell he was a bit nervous at least. He took his hand before speaking. "Well, we've made a very important decision in our lives, and it will ultimately effect each of you in a small way" he said, looking at Alec expectantly. This was his family. He was sure his awesome glittery appearance wasn't going to make Maryse feel too happy towards him anyways, so just in case, Alec could drop the bombshell.

Isabelle dove for her conclusion first. "Abortion? You're getting an abortion? Why would you do that!" she cried, throwing her fists in the air angrily. Her assumption made Alec raise an eyebrow. Why would that be the first thing to come to mind when Magnus said it would affect them in a small way? Well, it was Izzy, he wouldn't question it, he'd just amend it. But first he'd have to calm her down. A glance to his parents told them they had an idea, and they were anxious to hear it first.

"No, Isabelle," he said, shutting her up effectively. "Magnus and I are going to get married, and I'll move in to his place," he announced, waiting for the reaction. The room had froze for a minute, Robert and Maryse's suspicions confirmed, and Robert grinned at his son, approaching them to give Alec a pat on the back. Maryse hung behind a little but approached them none the less. Isabelle gave a shrill cry of excitement and smacked Magnus on the back. Her being a Shadowhunter made it a little worse than a regular girl smacking someone on the back. It had made a dull thud when her palm hit the center of Magnus' back.

"Oh-Em-Gee!" she yelled loudly, "I wanna be the wedding planner! Do I get to? Huh, Magnus? Do I get at least help with the wedding plans? I wanna help! Let me help!" Alec had almost never seen her this enthusiastic. Sure she enjoyed planning parties and decorating, but he'd never seen her so hyped up about it. "While we're at that, do I get to be the flower girl too?"

Maryse let her expression relax a little with the contagious enthusiasm spreading around the room. "Who exactly are you inviting, warl- Magnus?" She trusted the warlock for the most part, but they had all discussed this would be kept from the Clave until Alec was ready.

Magnus raised an eyebrow at Isabelle's outburst. Why would she think that Alec was getting an abortion? He wouldn't be smiling if he were. He could tell that Maryse and Robert had a more accurate idea of what was going on. Alec shut Isabelle easily enough, and then told the real news. He grinned, just liking hearing Alec say it. It made it feel more real, somehow. Alec was his, forever, and he was Alec's, forever. Then the room started to move, and he winced slightly as he was smacked on the back by a rather enthusiastic Isabelle. "Of course, if you'd like" he replied, laughing. "Flower girls are supposed to be young aren't they? Wanna be a bridesmaid or something instead?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. He was happy to see that Maryse was taking it rather well, and Robert seemed to be happy for them. She was at least making an effort, calling him by his name after a quick slip. "Well I'm not exactly sure yet, but only people I know I can trust with this. Some friends. I don't have any family, so that's about it" he replied. Although soon he would have family. This would be his family.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Bridesmaid it is!" Isabelle exclaimed, jumping in the air after a twirl. "I'm going to look amazing." She could settle with any position probably, as long as she got to present herself to the public as beautiful. "When was this gonna be happening?" she asked, not wanting to wait long already.

"As long as you know who you can trust," Robert told Magnus, "but we may very well be the only Shadowhunters at this reception. I'm not sure who could be an ally in the Clave, and I won't risk it." Maryse didn't object. She'd been thinking the same thing. Most of the people they knew as Shadowhunters might tell the Clave out of loyalty, or where homophobic. Alec grinned at his parents that they accepted the idea of the two of them getting married. Magnus would be their son-in-law as soon as they found a state that this was legal.

Magnus laughed at Isabelle's excitement. He was sure she would look amazing, not that it mattered to him at all. Gay or not, he had to admit that Isabelle was nothing short of stunning. But he had his Alec and he was sure that the boy was twenty times better looking. "Well, I was thinking a few months after Alec has the baby" he replied, sliding an arm around Alec's waist. He nodded as Robert spoke. He agreed completely. He wasn't going to risk this. He was only going to invite the people who he knew would be completely supportive and not let it slip to someone who could let the Clave know. "I know. I'm not risking it either. I know the Clave as well as you do, but what I don't know is how they will react to this. But it can't be well" he sighed, making a face for a moment before smiling slightly again. Just having Alec beside him, and sharing this news made him feel ecstatic.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Epic, that'll work," Isabelle replied, running around the kitchen looking for a pad of paper and a pencil. "We can start planning whenever and it'll be great because we can put our colorful minds together, Magnus." She located paper and a pen instead of what she'd been hoping for. She wrote down the note that the wedding would be some time after Alec had his baby.

"Little early to start now," Maryse commented, all the same going to where the paper was and thinking of what was to be planned. "I wonder where we could have this," she muttered to herself. She liked weddings just as much as the next person. First Alec would be married and then she'd get to marry off her daughter. She sighed wistfully. "I remember my wedding." She looked to her hand where the rings were and smiled. Robert smiled at her too as he took a look at his wedding ring.

Alec was happy where they were now. They were now engaged, his parents were fine with the idea, and they were expecting a child. Alec wished Jace and Clary could have been here too, but Valentine was an interference in their life. Once Alec had their child, they'd still be in the danger zone with the Clave in one corner and Valentine in the other.

Magnus grinned wider, laughing slightly. Who knew what their colourful minds could come up with. Probably something flashy and amazing, but something Alec wouldn't enjoy. They would have to tone it down for him. But not too much. . . he would still get to have fun with that, and he was sure Alec would have no problem with him having fun. Maryse was right, it was a bit early to be planning, since they had the baby to be preparing for, even if they hadn't been doing much preparing about that. Now they would have to soon, and everything would be a bit chaotic for a bit just before and after Alec gave birth, but it would be sorted out soon. When Maryse thought back to her wedding he smiled slightly. The one person he was slightly afraid of telling about their engagement had taken it extrememly well, so he was happy. He moved his mouth to Alec's ear, kissing it lightly before whispering to him. "Do you wanna go sit down somewhere?" he asked, knowing full well that pregnant people didn't like to stand around for too long. It had to hurt their feet.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Ah, yeah, sure," Alec responded, leading the way to his room. Alec was glad Magnus had turned his bed into something nicer previously. The bed he had had before would have been a killer on his back. When they got there, Alec sat down on the mattress, sighing wearily. It wasn't even that late in the day and he was tired. He hated being tired, because he had to take naps, and Shadowhunters did not take naps. Naps were for Mundanes too lazy to do anything. Not like Alec was allowed to do anything else, so he was getting a little lazy. He couldn't wait until he got to train again. Izzy would help him too unless she wanted to watch the baby instead. Come to think of it, "Was there a time you wanted me to move in with you?" Alec asked Magnus. "I mean, we could wait until the baby comes until I live with you, if you wanted."

Magnus followed Alec, remembering most of the way to Alec's room this time. He was sure the kitchen and Alec's room were the only places he could find in the Institute easily. Well, and Jace and Isabelle's, since they had been close enough together. But he normally had no reason to go there. He sat down beside his Shadowhunter, sighing along with him. "Tired?" he asked, sure that was the case. Alec seemed to get tired often lately, not that he was surprised. He laughed at the question, grinning slightly. "If I got what I wanted, you would have moved in with me eight months ago" he replied, running his fingers through his carefully spiked hair. "You can move in whenever you like. I'm always open".

[Nyako-Chan]

Sighing, Alec muttered to more or less himself, but also Magnus' question, "I'm always tired. It's really getting old." If he had given Magnus his way every time, he'd be wearing colors, he'd have a hair cut, and he'd have glitter on him every day. Unintentionally he'd play hard to get, and he imagined it kept Magnus amused sometimes. "I think moving in after the baby is born would be a good plan. I mean, unless something unexpected comes up, then yeah." He didn't quite know what the unexpected was, but he didn't quite want to think about it either. The unexpected included Sebastian and Valentine. It could include the Clave taking them into custody. It could be anything.

"I'm sorry honey" Magnus said sympathetically, wrapping Alec in a loose hug. He didn't like the fact that Alec was in so much misery because of him. But in the end they would be happy. "Mm, okay. I think I can wait that long to have you in my bed every night" he replied, grinning slightly. He could get used to that. Other than Alec's Shadowhunting activities, that kept him out at night. But he would be there for some time in the night. He was human, he needed sleep. He kept his mind away from the 'unexpected' that Alec mentioned, not needing his thoughts to go there on such a happy day for them. He wished he could just throw up a wall with a sign saying 'Dismal thoughts not welcome', but it didn't normally work that way.

"So, I think in weddings," according to Izzy's soaps, "we take on one last name." He had to think how it worked. The woman took the man's last name, or she kept her maiden name and then added her man's last name on it. Alec Lightwood-Bane....He thought about that one. Not much to think about it, really. Magnus Lightwood? That sounded too upside down for him. Alec Bane? It felt interesting. Well, whatever Magnus wanted. Alec was technically the girl in their relationship, so he would probably be taking Magnus' last name unless he just wanted to add it to his.

Magnus nodded, humming slightly. "That's normally how it works, yes" he agreed, smiling slightly. He had thought of that a few times, normally if he was up at night and feeling especially lonely. Alec Bane. He had always loved the way that sounded. It made Alec seem more his. But if Alec didn't like it, he could hyphonate it? "Alec Bane. . . sounds freaking adorable" he said, just putting it out there, kissing Alec on the cheek lightly. "I like it. If you don't, we could hyphonate it or something. Because I don't know how acceptable it is for a Downworlder to take on a Shadowhunter name".
