Charlie gave a small nod. He gave a grin. "Of course I married a smart woman.", he gave a happy grin as he held his hand out to the man. "Walter.. is it? Pleasure to meet you!", he responded in a chipper tone. He listened, holding the keys in his hand for a moment before unlocking the door and pulling it open. "Wow.. It seems in great shape.. How long has it been sitting?", he asked as he peered his head in and looked around inside.

(( yeap same here, we only have one thread that she usually posts long posts to and half the time its because i am the one that does this huge ass post which makes her have to post bigger XD i am a bit sneaky that way i love large posts. and sorry i wasn't responding tonight, left my computer one while watching my sister play guitar hero. i ended up falling asleep.. its what i get for drinking starbucks lof. it made me crash big time.))

Walter grinned, liking his chipper mood before scratching his chin slightly '' hmmm oh about a couple of months now.. oh but i do come down here atleast once every week or so to fire it up and keep the fuel from just sitting there and going bad. it would end up clogging the engine and what not if that happened.'' he leaned on his cane a little more as he peered inside the van watching Charlie look around in it.. '' yea i was a bit lucky, my kids had this knack for taking real good care of cars unlike some of those other folks i see who let their kids have something and then they end up drinking and driving and getting into wrecks.. ''

she arched a brow slightly as the door was opened before she peered inside, it was looking good, though the backseats seemed to be missing but the flooring was carpeted with thick clean carpet. she couldn't ever remember seeing carpet like that in a car.'' where are the back seats?"

Walter frowned before giving another smile'' ahh those things where taken out years ago and donated to some church. my son who had this car for the longest time didn't need them, he hauled alot of big stuff in this thing.. large packing box's mostly.supplies and what not. he used to be a handy man, now he owns his own carpeting business. he is the one that put the new carpeting in there.. said it would help warm up the van quicker with the heater and what not. he has one of those family cars now which is why he didn't keep this thing. though its got alot of memories in the family. '' he was a bit sad that it had to go but he knew the van would be well taken care off. '' only thing we couldn't do is get it a new paint job. its got a few scratches and dings in it here and there from careless people bumping into it with car doors and random other stuff if it was parked in parking lots at stores and what not but it sure does run good. ''

Charlie nosed around, running his hands across the carpet in the back. "Well it would be a good area for the cats...", he mumbled as he poked his head around and look at the driver's console. He sat down into the driver's seat, feeling the comfort almost immediately. The van smelled musky but had a good feel to it. He put the keys into the ignition and turned the key, hearing the old engine grind to life. It started right up and was not near as loud as that old diesel. He looked over at Missy. "Well.. Sarah... what do you think?", he asked in a soft tone as he gently placed a foot onto the accelerator, hearind the engine rev up. "Eh... Walter...? Has it moved at all recently?", he asked in a concerned tone. If it hadn't moved, it could bust apart as soon as they try to move. He stepped out and looked at the paint. It didn't really matter, as they weren't looking for anything brand new. However, just to cover their tracks further, they would probably need to get a new paint job.

(( hehe yea i get that way sometimes, gah and sorry bout this morning, normally i post and all but the coffee i drank from starbucks finally made me crash and i fell asleep ))

Walter frowned before nodding'' well of course, it was moved when we change the oil and what not. and when i start it up, usually drive it around the block to get the gas and oil moving through the system. didn't want no clogs in the engine pistons and what not. .. you got cats?" he glanced down at the carrier before smiling.. '' yea suppose your right, would be good for them. if they like carpet. we have had animals in there before, dogs, squirrels and what not. sometimes fish too. family was big on going fishing.''

Missy smiled'' well i like it, it starts up just fine. looks cozy, and you look like your comfortable in it.. the paint job i am not to worried about. and as long as it gets us to our destinations without so much trouble then yea i definitely love it. '' she wasn't a big fan of fancy or sportsy cars , this van actually suited her.. '' squirrels? ahhh well , my cats are not messy and they are very well potty trained. ''

He blinked as he looked at Walter. He gave a small respective nod. This was obviously a man who had lived a full and fun life. He had respect for people like that... with gained wisdom, not that found in books, but those found through experience. "Well If my love here thinks it fits our needs, I believe we will take it...", he gave a small nod and reached out to shake Walter's hand with a smile as he looked down at the blanket covered carrier. Those cats had to be freezing in there by now. No matter how good that coat was, Winter had hit, and hard. Charlie stepped out with a shiver as a strong cold wind blew past. "Well?", he asked as he turned to Missy. "What do you think, Sarah?"

she nodded as she reached into the van to set the cat carrier down. '' i like it. stay with the cats hun, i will take walter to the bank so we can get things figured out, should only take a minute yes?" she glanced over at walter again to see what he thought.

walter nodded as he shook his head'' definitely , just get the payment, sign the turn over papers and thats that. easier then dealer ships and what not, well from what i think anyways. and cash is fine, i know some people don't like doing personal checks. i think the bank will even do money orders if its easier. ''

Charlie blinked. He gave a small nod and gave a short sigh as he climbed around back to pet the cats. "Sorry Angel and Nuka... I know it is freezing outside... but now we won't have to deal with that horrible fbi van anymore...", he whispered into the carrier so Walter wouldn't hear. He looked up, outside the van, noticing a TV store with the tv's in the front window, going from a furniture ad to a wanted bit about him. It still showed black or blonde hair... not red yet, and still didn't show Missy. He gave a small sigh of relief and openned the carrier to pick up Nuka.

(( totally understand about work killing ya, its the holidays and what not that is coming up so don't worry , no pressure on you to post . just take it easy and try not to kill yourself over work and posting, i know how frustrating it can get. ))

it didn't take long for her to get the money out of the bank for walter and get the paper work signed over to her and charlie just so they could have it in their name, well their false names atleast. within thirty minutes or so she finished the work, watched walter leave with being paid while she folded up the papers and tucked them back into the envelope. she had even pulled out some extra money that would last them for a while, stuffing her hands back into her pockets now she headed back to the van before opening it and climbing in. '' well thats done,didn't even cost that much for this thing, pretty decent prize for the type of van, how are the cats?" she glanced at nuka who was snuggled up against him purring away and looking fully content now. angel was curled up in the carrier still , looking fast asleep, '' i even pulled some extra money out to last us for a bit. just enough for a few weeks or so , to let the heat die down i think.''

He looked over at her with a smile as he stroked Nuka's head softly. "They are doing ok... I know you weren't gone long but.. I missed you.", he said with a caring smile. He slowly inched away from Nuka. "So... where do we go?", he asked in a soft whisper. He wasn't entirely sure, but he knew they were still too close to the house. His thoughts shifted again to the agent who had said that the FBI had Missy's parents. He still wondered if it was true or not. He then began to think about the house, and everything that had happened in the short time he had known Missy. So much light had been shed on the things going on with his life, and now he wasn't as psycho as he had been. But things still didn't make sense... Surely there were others out there worse than he was. He didn't understand why he was so important. He gave a small shrug as he snapped away from his thoughts and climbed into the front driver's seat of the can. "Ready?"

she climbed in and closed the door behind her, nodding a little as she checked the cats again and petted them before climbing into the passenger seat. '' yea i am ready and missed you too hun.'' when asked where they would go now she stayed quiet for a moment trying to think as she pulled out a map she had picked up from one of the side stands. '' out of this city thats for sure. there are plenty of more towns nearby but if we go north we can reach one of the large camping grounds within .. four hours or so. its the only one that has cabins to rent, the other camp sites you have to have tents and what not..''

He gave a small nod, noticing the key was still in the ignition from when he started it earlier. He gave it a twist and listened to the motor start right up. He put the gear into drive and pressed his foot down onto the pedal, hearing the motor rev up and the van lurch forward. He looked over at her with a smile. He thought about things again, this time about how he had uprooted poor Missy. He felt guilty that he had taken her whole life away from her, and now they were both on the run. He came to a slow stop at a stop light. "Where is the quickest way to the highway?", he asked as he looked over at the map in her hand.

she looked up smiled at him before glancing at the name of the street they where on and the one they where fixing to cross before she looked back at the map to find where they where at.. '' hmmm looks like if you pass two more lights and turn left that street will take you straight to the highway. then you will want to get on the north ramp, after that we just stay on there for a few hours before our exit even comes up. '' she studied the area on the map, methodically picking out the spots they could stop at to eat, and use the rest stop if they needed it. '' theres a small country store near the camp area too that we can do a little shopping at for food, blankets and the like. i have only been there once or twice but i know they get alot of business from first time campers so they will be good to help us out if we need it.''

He looked at the map, noticing where she was pointing and gave a nod as the light turned green. The van slid a little at first in the snow before getting a grip. He gave a small grunt as the van lurched forward suddenly. "This thing is slippery in the snow... ", he muttered, gripping the steering wheel. "Did you go there with your parents?", he asked in a soft tone as he turned to look at her. He came up behind a small sporty car with blaring music and frowned as the light in front of them turned red, and he got stuck behind them. His ears flattened against his head as he tried to block out the music, but perking up as he noticed the stereo and flipped it on. The sound was instantly loud, much louder than the person in front of them. He let out a barely audible groan as he turned down the music as quick as he could. "Jeebus nips!", he cried, rubbing his ears lightly as he noticed the light was now green. "That... is just a little loud."

she yelped in surprise when the sudden blaring music came on, clamping both hands over her ears she waited for him to turn it down before cringing'' yea that is a bit loud.. umm no my parents don't camp. i went with a friend a few years back. it was one of those one last time trips she wanted to do before she moved away. it was for the weekend, but i enjoyed it. . made me realize how much time i make myself sit in front of a computer and just lose myself doing work. that weekend gave me time to just.. enjoy nature, do a little fishing, enjoy a bit of food outside at a picnic table.. it was nice. i am sure you would like it too.''

He gave a small nod as he gently turned up the stereo. "So what is it your parents did when you were a child?", he asked. He blinked, looking a little sad. Other than Missy and the cats, he had never really had any friends. "Why did she move away?", he asked in a soft tone as he drove past the second light. "Which is the street I turn left on again?", he asked as he peered over at the map, and spotting it, and turning accordingly. He saw the on ramp up ahead. "Now... we start our new life...", he said as he bit his lower lip for a moment with anticipation.

she grinned slightly as she glanced at him'' ahh my parents where the type that threw sponsor parties and what not when i was younger. all for their jobs and such. but now they just travel.. ohhh she moved because of the college she was going too. some out of state place that had the highest rating in the field she was wanting to study in, she has actually graduated if i am not mistaken, she works at a law firm somewhere up there. '' she shrugged before glancing up at the ramp. '' hmmm yea , starting a new life is always a good thing you know. ''

He looked at her for a moment. He pressed his foot down onto the pedal and the van sped up the ramp. He gave a small sigh. He knew it would be a long drive. Once he was on the main high way, he looked around and saw that it was mostly empty. He put his foot down and let the van pull them up to speed. "Well... hopefully one of us can get a job or something soon.", he muttered softly. "Because your funds won't last forever and.. well... yeah...", he muttered as he moved into another lane to pass a slow car.

she shrugged as she eyed the speed before relaxing, '' careful on the speed, though i think the tires only slip if you first go forward from a stopped position like at the light. and your right.. they will only last for so long, but it will be ok. trust me , we don't have any bills so the money will last a while. getting a job though won't be too hard, even a part time job would help. '' she frowned before grinning slightly '' hell we could even sell fish to the market if we manage to catch some. it all depends on luck really . '' she glanced over at the cats, they where now settled again, this time on the carpet of the van and not in the carrier. '' and seriously. fishing for our own food is not too bad. we love fish thats for sure, and shrimp. craw dads and all them other types of stuff. we will figure it out. might be hard but i think the two of us can handle it.''

He blinked for a second, eyeing the speedometer. "The speed limit is 65 and I am going to stay around 50...", he said with a reassuring nod. "With the slight layer of snow on everything, I think that is ideal.", he said softly as he turned to her, kissing her gently before returning his attention back to the road. "How the hell do you stay such an optimist?", he asked curiously as he turned to look back at the cats when Missy did and he smiled. They seemed comfortable. "We need to get a litter box for them I think.", he said with a soft smile.

she gave a slight shrug on his comment. '' well, its not easy let me tell you ,but i think it comes with how i was raised.. i have learned to just go with the flow.. the whole when one door closes another one will open thing..'' she glanced at the cats again after kissing him back. '' hmm yea i think your right. they probably need to use one anyways, surprised they are holding it in this long. probably stress.. '' glancing at the road again she frowned, eyeing the bit of snow. '' yea your right on the ideal speed. though i think i will feel safer when we get snow chains on the tires. you know just in case. ''

He nodded for a second. He was surprised how well Missy was taking it. It was interesting how a good parent or two can really help a child out. "Snow chains don't do well at high speeds... in fact on highway speeds like this, they would result in a loss of traction...", he mumbled in a soft tone before giving a sigh. Long drives like this were slightly boring. There was barely anyone on the road, and nothing really was going on. He looked around for a second, before his eyes set on Missy and he grinned. He didn't entirely know why... but he did.

she frowned before sighing, rubbing her eyes for a moment.. '' eh.. well. it was worth a try , i am not that much of an expert on cars and wheels and whatever.. '' stretching out slowly she relaxed, glad that they now had a working heater.. '' hmmm atleast the heater works, thats all i really care about at the moment, '' she glanced at the road, not too surprised that not many people where out, she glanced over at him and arched a brow as she caught him grinning at her.. '' wha? ? she was slightly confused at the look he was giving her though it made her blush a bit. '' ok i know i didn't do anything at the moment. atleast, not that i know of. '' she couldn't help but grin back as she relaxed into the seat'' ah well. not a crime to be happy , other wise i think alot more people would be in jail. ''

He continued to grin, it vanishing for a moment when he saw the confused look. "I dunno... I just.. feel happy... we have no one following us, busting down doors, shockign us or anything... and we have a decent space in the back....", he mumbled as he looked back, and the looked back at Missy with a raised eyebrow. "So what is the plan once we get to the cabin?", he asked as he returned his attention to the road.

she grinned'' its alright to feel happy hun, i was just curious is all. ahh plan umm. well suppose we get settled first, get the cats relaxed and what not. i can go to the mini store and get whatever provisions we need. like clothing, or blankets and such. food is easy enough . but if you need anything like, shampoo and what not that you can't eat just let me know and i can pick it up.. '' she folded the map back up and rubbed the back of her neck slightly ... '' suppose i can try digging into records about you. if any are out there.. could see if we can find out why they are wanting you back other then well.. your alter ego. .. its making me think the government wants some sort of super soldier or something... wouldn't surprise me if they did that .''
