Alec looked at their baby contemplatively. "He's quiet, for now. Mom said I was quiet when I was young, and I still am. Maybe it won't be as bad. noise-wise. I broke a lot of things when I was younger." That poor priceless vase never had a chance when Alec tripped over the table as a child. "Would she be allowed in here to see Skylar?" Alec asked, knowing Isabelle would be steaming in the other room waiting for the news. She'd be ecstatic when she saw their beautiful child. She'd love the fact that she'd get to be the favorite -only- aunt. She'd probably tell their mother now too.

"Good. Quiet is good. He can be louder when he's older if he wants though" Magnus was really hoping he wouldn't be as tired as everybody said. But if Skylar stayed quiet for the most part, he was sure it would be fine. "Of course she'd be allowed in. Family generally visits in the hospital. But since we're not technically in a hospital, and I'm a warlock, you don't have to stay here. We can go home any time you like" he pulled his phone out, seeing the message he had gotten hours earlier from Isabelle. 'Its a boy. Third room on the left' he sent the message, knowing she would understand and probably come running. "Well she's going to be on her way. I give her thirty seconds."

Isabelle wanted to hesitate to look at the message she just received, just in case is was a miscarriage, since no one knew what could happen with a male carrying a child. She also wanted to make it suspense if it made it all right, and if she was right that it was female. She flipped the phone up and double checked the message to make sure she read right. She screamed loudly, high pitched, making the others in the room jump. The secretary included, though she was used to it. She ran with the instructions, despite not wanting to run anymore for the day. Third room on the left. She ran to the right first, momentarily forgetting directions, but then fixed it and almost slammed the left door open, taking the sight of Magnus, her brother, and their new baby. She forgot to breathe and shut the door, and did so simultaneously when she remembered those tasks.

Magnus heard a distant scream and laughed. Isabelle had apparently seen his message. That hadn't taken very long. "Five. . . four. . . three. . . two. . ." the door banged open, revealing a rather excited-looking Isabelle. "Hey. Meet your nephew, Skylar. . . uhh. . . Bane? Lightwood? I don't know, but his name is Skylar" he grinned, looking down at his son. Being a proud father was something that had never been available to him, even if he wanted it. He had no idea how this had worked out, but the slightly slitted pupils made it certain that it was his child. This was an anomaly, but he was extremely happy.

Alec laughed when he heard a high squealing sound from the lobby. He was too tired to sit up for the moment, but he watched the door to hear running of heels, something only Izzy could do in four-inchers, and the door opening in a rush. She looked as ecstatic as the two themselves felt. Alec smiled back at her, and at the name Magnus had tried putting together. "He'll probably be either Bane or Bane-Lightwood. Some kids have middle names, too. I dunno if he'll have one yet." Alec didn't know any middle names to use. Maybe one of them could be Jace, if it wasn't too much to ask from Magnus.

Magnus was thinking about that. He had no idea what they would come up with in the middle name category. Their son might even go without. He had heard of some Mundanes having three or four middle names, some with two, some one, and some didn't have any. Downworlder names tended to be a bit more complicated. "We'll work on it. Later. Now. . . does your mother know about this?" he asked, looking to Isabelle. Alec obviously had been a bit. . . busy. . . but Isabelle had been waiting out there for god knows how long. It had felt like an eternity to him.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Umm," Isabelle shifted uncomfortably. "Not yet. I can call her though, and let her know. She'll want to come down here and see, undoubtedly." She looked at their baby Skylar again, grinning widely. "Aww yeah, I'm gonna teach him how to accessorize, and buy clothes, and do hair, and everything! He's going to be sooooo cute when he gets older!"

Alec wondered why their son might want to learn that when he was old enough to understand her, but he wouldn't burst Isabelle's bubble right now. "If she does come down here, I don't want to deal with her moods unless she's happy." Alec was tired enough. Happy, overjoyed, everything, for the life of their new child, but he was exhausted behind all that. He no longer had the extra weight in him to carry, and he felt a lot better than he had in a while, despite the weariness.

"Mhmm. Maybe she'll like me a bit better after this" Magnus said a bit hopefully. Having a baby made it seem a bit more serious. Plus they were getting married. Maybe once she saw how happy Alec was. "I'm his father, shouldn't I be the one teaching him all that?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Teaching Skylar everything he knew about fashion would be fun, he knew that for a fact. He glanced down at Alec and his mouth twitched slightly. "If she's in a bad mood, I'll deal with her. Don't worry. Now, do you want to hold Skylar?" he asked, grinning. Alec hadn't yet gotten to hold their child, so he would probably want to. After carrying him for nine months in his stomach, it would be better to have him in his arms.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Yeah, you can tell her then. I guess she's got to figure it out some time. She'd probably rather learn this the day it happened rather than the day after." Maryse couldn't be mad or anything right now, could she? She would learn that today she's now an official grandmother. "I'd love to hold him," Alec said, hardly believing he had conceived a child, this was his child and Maguns'.

Isabelle pulled the cell out, examining the eyes of the baby. They were a rounded version of Magnus' cat eyes. "Heeeey, Mom. Where am I? Oh, hospital. Yeah, no, I'm fine. Alec and Magnus had their kid. It's a boy!" she almost shrieked, "What? The address?" She looked to Magnus. "Wanna talk to your mother in law?"

Magnus hummed his agreement, looking down at his child. He grinned and handed Skylar over to Alec carefully. He hadn't cried yet, which was the plus. He glanced up at Isabelle when she started calling her mother, before down at Alec and Skylar. They were the two things he loved the most in the world. Chairman Meow was the third. He glanced up as he was addressed, his eyes widening slightly. He was tempted to say 'not really', but he had to be the responsible adult here. He held out his hand for the phone, wondering what Maryse was going to say.

[Nyako-Chan]

Isabelle handed the phone over to the warlock, Alec watched with a raised eyebrow. If his mother was mad, then they'd all hear it in the room. Magnus would be holding the phone away from his ear. Isabelle mouthed good luck before she turned to her nephew and made curious faces. Alec thought it was amusing, meanwhile, he had an ear listening for his mother's voice.

"Magnus Bane, you've been at the hospital with Alec, and didn't tell me until it was done?" Maryse asked with a hint of disbelief and possible insult in her voice. "As his mother, I have a right to know this. What do you have to say for yourself?"

Magnus grimaced as Maryse started talking, knowing what it was about by the time she got to 'Alec'. "I'm sorry, I was more concerned with getting my pregnant fiance to the doctor before he possibly died because there was nowhere for the baby to go" he explained, sure that this was a good excuse. "I didn't have your number, so I texted Isabelle to tell her. Honestly I expected she would tell you" he glanced at the middle Lightwood child, who seemed to be amusing herself with their child. "But you can come visit here if you want, but we'll probably be going to my place soon" he shrugged, even if she couldn't see the gesture.

[Nyako-Chan]

Stubbornly accepting the fact that Magnus had a point, Maryse grunted. "Don't leave the hospital before I can see him. Tell me the address before you leave so I can see Alec and your child." She'd catch a taxi and be there soon enough, and deep down, she was very anxious to see her first grandchild. She could tell Robert later. She scowled at the thought of her playing the same game as Magnus.

Isabelle, hearing herself accused, put her hands behind her back and double-flipped off Magnus.

Magnus grinned and flipped Isabelle off right back, one long finger sticking up. "Mm'kay. I'll see you soon then" he said, giving her the address. "Bye" he flipped the phone closed, holding it out to Isabelle. "I think I handled that very well. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll forget all about you when she sees her first grandchild" he assured her. "I think she's going to be happy" he added a bit quieter, running his fingers through Alec's hair. It was a very happy day. Not much could piss him off at this point.

Maryse hailed a cab as quickly as she could. She knew where that place was. It would take ten minutes or less to get there if she threatened the driver the right way. She threw the address at him when he arrived, gave a few harshly spoken words, and counted down how long it would take.

"Well? I guess, considering we didn't hear her," Isabelle murmured, "yeah, she'll be happy, she'll forget about being mad when she sees this kid." She examined him. "He's gonna be a looker when he gets older, just saying. I can tell these things."

Laughing, Magnus nodded. "Yeah, well people do tend to look like their parents. With his genetics, Skylar is going to be hot. Plain and simple. I just hope I rub off on him enough to give him at least some good fashion sense" he smiled at Alec, who seemed addicted to his holey faded sweaters and dark jeans. If he could have one day to dress Alec up as he liked, he would celebrate for weeks, take pictures, and have the pleasure of getting him right back out of the clothes. But he would teach their child to dress well. Even if his style wasn't flamboyant, he could still have good taste.

"Magnus, you can't call your blood son hot, I don't think that's legal," Alec said, making a face. He never heard anyone call family hot, especially a parent to child. Magnus and Isabelle would be spending a lot of time getting Skylar into clothes and fashion, making Alec wonder what kind of person he'd grow up to be. He was sure all parents thought that of their kids, wondering what paths they'd take.

"It's perfectly legal unless I try to molest him or something, which I assure you I won't be. I was just complimenting him" Magnus shrugged. Really, for him to say something like that he didn't find a problem. He found nothing wrong with telling somebody that they were hot, family or not. "But if you're feeling jealous, don't worry, I still think you're the sexiest thing to roam the earth" he assured him, not caring one bit that Isabelle was in the room. She had heard worse from him. Alec hadn't liked it, sure, but the blush he got was adorable.

[Nyako-Chan]

Alec made a face at how Magnus was speaking, but he just shrugged it off. He mumbled something like "I'm not jealous." Magnus was always like that, and Alec loved it regardless. "So, Mom's coming down here, huh?" he asked, looking to the door. He held Skylar close to him, not able to believe that this child had just come from inside him.

Maryse jumped out of the cab after tossing the right amount of money at the driver. He uttered a few words which she ignored. She walked quickly into the hospital, keeping her composure. She got directions to the room and stalked over to it. She opened the door and walked in on a marvelous sight she hadn't expected to see. She forgot the lecture she was going to give and stared at her grandson.

Magnus couldn't help but be amused at the face Alec made. He barely caught the mumbled words, but he grinned anyways. He was sure Alec was jealous, wheather he said he was or not. "Yes, but I don't know where she's coming from. She could be here anywhere between a minute and a month. So get comfortable" the words were just out of his mouth when the door opened, and he looked up to see the one he was talking about. Magnus grinned, knowing that Skylar had won her over already. That was always a good thing. Children could be good blackmail material. "Hello. I'd like you to meet Skylar" he said with a proud grin, looking back down at his two favorite people. His family.

Alec couldn't help but break into a grin when he saw his mother's expression of Skylar. Maryse approached them almost as if she thought the sight would disappear before her eyes. She didn't blink as she focused on the baby in Alec's arms. He smiled back up at Magnus, returning the warm look. "You're a grandmother, Mom," he said, trying not to break the spell over her. Isabelle looked amused by their mother's expression as well.

Maryse reached out to the baby slowly, looking at the light blue eyes with rounded slit pupils. She saw all of Magnus and Alec in him. She was proud of them, even Magnus, amazingly. "What time exactly was he born?" she asked, figuring the time they'd texted her was minutes after they'd fixed and cleaned everything up.

The corner of Magnus's mouth twitched up at Alec speaking to his mother. It would be interesting to be a grandparent. He wondered if he would get to be. Or if their child would be sterile like a warlock. He was even a bit hesitant to try putting Marks on him. Nobody knew how his body would react. He pulled his phone out at the question, looking at what time he had texted Isabelle. It had been about five minutes before that. "Uhh, Five. . . ten?" he guessed, working backwards. "Around that. And it's October tenth. . . 5:10, 10/10/10. That makes it easy" he smiled slightly. Looking back to Skylar after he put his phone away, he locked his eyes on his son's. If they were going to change colour, he wondered what they would change to. A green-gold like his? A slightly darker blue like Alec's? Something completely different?

"Interesting birth date," Maryse said, and Isabelle noted how cool it was too. "Very coincidental." She could guess some of the traits of the boy. Black hair, like both parents, the eye color would be an interesting outcome, and whatever other personality traits he picked up. "He's quiet, like you were, Alec." She would be able to watch him grow up, and become someone, and she got to be the fairly young grandmother during. She wondered if they'd be having anymore children. "Middle name and last name?" she asked.

Nodding his agreement, Magnus leaned back against the chair he was sitting in. He was happy he was a warlock, and could make himself comfortable anywhere. He was glad that their child was quiet as well. Maybe he would be like Alec when he got older. But maybe his influence would make him different. Who knew? All he knew was that he was going to be getting more sleep than everybody else had warned him about, probably. He wasn't very eager for their child to start crying, but he knew it was only a matter of time. Every baby cried. "Umm. . . we havn't come up with a middle name. . . and Bane, I think?" he glanced to Alec for confirmation. Skylar Bane. Sounded good to him. So did Alec Bane, which he was looking forward to.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Mom, we'll come up with a middle name later," Alec said, if they did give him a middle name. Some kids didn't have a middle name, or just an initial. Alec didn't even know if Max had a middle name. Isabelle's middle name was their grandmother's, and Alec's was a father's friend's name. ((Ehh, last thing I could come up with)). "You love him, Mom?" he asked, even though it was clear on her face that she did indeed love him. She looked like she wanted to hold him. "Want to hold him?" he questioned her, receiving a nod. He held out Skylar for his mother, whom she took and held carefully. It was obvious how much she adored him already, from the way she looked into the child's eyes and grinned.
