Magnus was glad that Maryse seemed so happy. Happy Maryse generally meant happy Magnus, because he wasn't being bitched at. And if Maryse was happy, Alec normally was too. She didn't enjoy her son's pain. He watched as Alec handed their child to his mother. He was surprised Isabelle hadn't asked yet. He had a feeling that Skylar would be very popular with the Lightwoods for a long time. It had to be fun watching somebody grow up. He had watched Clary grow up, but that didn't count. This was his own child, and he didn't see him only every two years for an hour or so.

"Me next!" Isabelle claimed, since she was the only one in the room who hadn't gotten to hold the child. Alec didn't mind other people holding him. He couldn't blame them for their enthusiasm. He was never big on children, but Skylar was different. He was sure if they had anymore kids they'd all be as special. Skylar was going to be the very center of attention for the next few years and then on. Alec was sure he'd have no problem getting some alone time with Magnus, with the way his mother and sister were fawning over him already. Maryse handed Isabelle the baby, and Isabelle instantly took on a motherly air. Alec was impressed, he didn't think she could actually handle a kid like that.

Laughing, Magnus shook his head slightly. His baby was getting more attention than he was. If it wasn't his own child, he would be offended. "Look, he takes after me. Centre of attention already" he shook some of his hair back, the spikes settling back easily as they were gelled. Skylar was passed off once again, and Magnus wondered if Robert even knew that the little boy existed. He shrugged it off though. He would find out eventually. Looking at Isabelle holding the baby, he wondered again if she might want to steal him. But it was hard to steal something from a High Warlock, so he wasn't worried.

True, it was very true, Alec thought. Their baby was just born and was a big attention-getter already, even though it was only the four of them, eventually five when his dad marveled over him. Magnus would know by now not to be jealous of not getting attention, because he'd get plenty of needed attention later on. Alec would bet he already had it all planned out. Isabelle handed Skylar back, though she looks wistful that she could hold him forever. "Um," Isabelle started, "babies need food like, right away. Milk, actually. What did you plan on doing for that?"

Magnus found the look on Isabelle's face highly amusing, but managed to hide it. When the brought up the food he nodded, snapping his fingers. "Baby formula. Stores sell it. But I hear it smells bad and stains. . . so watch it" he warned. One thing he wasn't looking forward to was getting puke on him or something. He was going to have to not wear his most expensive clothes for a while. But he wasn't sure he owned any actually cheap things anyways. He held the bottle out for Alec. This was the only way they could actually feed Skylar, since Alec couldn't exactly. . . breastfeed him. The thought itself made him smother a laugh, biting his lip.

Alec took it and balanced the weight with one arm, and used the other available hand to hold the bottle close. Skylar was intelligent enough to take the bottle to his mouth. Maybe feeding was instinctive. Alec could feel himself flushing red a bit, and when he caught Magnus biting his lip, he flushed darker red. "Something funny?" he asked, wondering what Magnus could possibly be imagining now, of all times. It could be the bottle. Magnus must be horny, he thought.

Magnus watched as Alec tipped the bottle the right way and Skylar clamped down on it. He raised his eyebrows a bit at Alec's question. "Not at all. Why would you ever think that?" he asked, grinning. Thinking dirty thoughts when his child was just born was a bit strange, but he couldn't help it. His mind was always in the gutter, no matter what. The only times he dragged it out was when he found it absolutely necessary to be serious. He crossed one long leather-clad leg over the other, getting more comfortable and trying to look as if he wasn't concealing laughter.

"Can't imagine," Alec said, remembering his mom would be onto Magnus if he let it drag on that Magnus was probably being perverted in his head again. She might raise a fight with the warlock if she started calling him a bad parent or something. How much did Magnus know about raising kids again? Well, they had the nursery set up, thanks to Isabelle's 'ideas', a week before. Now it'd be a matter of keeping things clean and keeping the baby quiet.

Magnus grinned again, before his gaze flicked to Maryse, and it faded a bit. He had a feeling she would be disapproving of this. He wasn't too sure when it was that what Maryse thought bothered him. He supposed it was that she influenced Alec, eighteen or not, and her influencing him badly wasn't a good thing. He ran his fingers idly through Alec's hair, looking back to his fiance and his baby. It really was an adorable sight. No wonder Skylar was the center of attention. Along with Alec, who had produced said child.

"What else needs to be taken care of here?" Alec asked, not knowing what else they were doing here. Paper work was probably left, and those check ups for the baby to record weight and stuff. Alec knew that much, at least. Was he supposed to stay here longer for whatever reason? Going home might be nice, but he'd want Isabelle, at least Isabelle, to stick around and help them out. No company was nice too, though. Alec got to go back to his old clothes as soon as he took of the remaining extra weight and put on some muscle. He'd work out every day once everything was all right, and he'd be fit again in no time.

Magnus sighed, knowing this would come up. He really had no idea what to do for once. "Well. . . this is the part where we're supposed to register him, make him legal. But he's not exactly legal anyways. Or normal. . . but anyways, I'm thinking, skip the registering, get him weighed, and go home?" he asked, waiting for the Lightwoods' opinions. Because this whole thing would make no sense, and somebody would end up investiagating or something, and if the Clave caught wind of this, they were done. The only people they could get in trouble with for having their child unregistered was the Mundie police, but they couldn't do anything about it.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Err, if he's not registered, in time when he's old enough, he can't get a Mundie license, or anything cool, and it'd be like being an illegal immigrant. He'd be illegal," Isabelle said as an afterthought. "Can you just register him as a regular Mundane?" The Clave couldn't really make connections, could they? If they registered him under a different name, as long as the kid new better, then the Clave couldn't make connections. He'd be living under an alias his entire life. "What do you think Alec?"

Alec thought it might be better for Skylar to be registered as a Mundane. He'd live his life as a lie, but it was for his protection. Shadowhunter blood being dominate, he could take runes, maybe he'd grow up the way a Shadowhunter did. Or maybe Magnus would think of a different way. "Any other ideas?" he asked Magnus.

Magnus listened to their thoughts, considering it. "Well" he said slowly, looking at the child they were talking about as he spoke, "Have any of you seen an actual birth record? They want all information. Parents' names, ages, birth dates, etc. And then what? I'm not exactly. . . registered. . . I don't know about Alec, but people look through these things. They're going to see two male names on the paper and be thinking 'what the hell?', then look us up only to find, oops, we don't exist" he explained, sighing. This was extremely complicated. There was nothing that they could do to completely win here.

Sighing, Alec's brow furrowed. What to do? Well, maybe Magnus was right. Forget registering, weight and such could be done. "Your doctor friend could keep this all quiet, couldn't he?"

"Not like he'd believe two males had a kid biologically, anyway," Isabelle muttered, as that was highly out of the ordinary. Down right impossible for Mundanes. Apparently possible for Shadowhunters and warlocks though? "Guess using Mom and Dad's name is out of the question."

"I guess I'm up for anything then," Alec admitted, agreeing to whatever would work best for them. Whatever would be safest.

"Of course. Or else I wouldn't have brought you here. I wouldn't risk that" Magnus stated, glancing at the door. He assumed that the doctor had gone to help somebody else, since they didn't need him at the moment. "Yeah. . . umm. . . I guess we can skip it now, and work with it later if we need to. I'm excellent at forging legal documents" he grinned slightly, wondering why this hadn't been his first option. It was the safest, the fastest, and the easiest. It was most definitely the best thing they could do, if he wanted to keep Alec and Skylar safe and happy. And there was no way he was going to live in the shadow of the Clave terrified every day that they would find him.

"Leave it to you to figure out you could just forage them," Maryse said, rolling her eyes. It was useful, practical and what not, she had to give Magnus credit for that. As long as he ddin't abuse his powers, she'd stay all right with him.

"That will work," Alec agreed. "I'm up for that." Lucky him his Magnus was so clever. He never would have thought of foraging documents, and probably wouldn't have been able to pull it off. Jace could have come up with it, but making it was another story. "So? We might as well get moving now, right?"

Magnus shrugged. He was over 800 years old and a warlock. He had to have forged some legal papers at least once in his life. As it turns out he had done it more than just once, for paying customers. "Alright. Then just weigh him and we can go home" he said, uncrossing his legs and getting to his feet. He was surprised that Skylar still hadn't cried yet, but he was fine with that. It was looking good in the quiet department. "Okay, now. Birth certificat that we're not going to give to anybodym just to have the information" he waved his hand, and a piece of paper appeared on the table at the side of the room. "And a scale to weight the baby" another wave of his hand and a scale was next to it. He walked around Alec's bed, leaving the place he had been for the past few hours, realizing now how stiff his legs were. He stretched them as he walked, bending over the desk and getting himself a sparkly purple pen, scrawling down the information in his elaborate handwriting.

"Um, Isabelle? Mom? Could you weigh him? I don't think I can stand right now," Alec said. A little rest and he'd be fine, he figured. Shadowhunter's method to healing was almost always rest. His mother took the baby and went to the scale, somehow knowing what she was doing. Alec doubted she did this before on her own, and was probably improvising. She was good at that. Most Shadowhunters were, except for Clary. Isabelle was usually better with improvising her make up.

"Six pounds," Maryse informed for Magnus, picking the baby up again, taking a moment to hold him more.

Magnus glanced back as Alec asked his mother or sister to weigh their son. He needed sleep, the warlock knew. Shadowhunters normally dealt with a day's rest and an iratze, but this was different. He was going to make Alec get more than enough sleep. He glanced at Maryse when she told them the weight. Six pounds was very undersized for a baby. He was hoping that wouldn't cause any problems or something. "Okay" he muttered, writing it down. Finishing up the paper he looked down at it for a moment before snapping his fingers, and the paper dissappeared, headed to his house, where the rest of his documents were kept. "Okay. We can go now" he said, tossing some money down on the counter. He didn't feel like talking to the receptionist. "Alec, do you want me to carry you or levitate you?" he asked, walking back to the small bed. He was hoping for the former, and he was sure Alec would choose that one. Somebody else could carry Skylar.

"Um, I don't really like levitating, if that's all right," Alec said, "and I think at this point it'd make me nauseous." Magnus seemed to have no problem carrying him places, and the weight of the baby was off, so it'd be easier. Magnus wouldn't just let Isabelle and his Mom walk home, probably, so he'd take them with him. He'd probably have one of them carry him. His mom already had him in her arms, so she'd carry him. Or chances were Isabelle would want to compete with her to carry him and play with him more. Alec could see that coming from either female.

"Fine by me" Magnus grinned, slipping his arms underneath Alec and hoisting him up, holding the teen to his chest. He was about six pounds lighter than he had been, Magnus thought. He would be fine with carrying Alec anywhere, mainly showing off that he belonged to him. "Alright, home sweet home it is" he said, opening a portal to his home and walking through. He had opened it to the bedroom, so he set Alec down on the bright yellow sea of blankets on his bed. "How are you feeling, sweetheart?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. He trusted that Isabelle and Maryse had followed, bringing Skylar with them.

Maryse was almost hesitant to follow after seeing that Magnus was taking them to his room. She'd never been up here, only the foyer, for business purposes. She followed with Skylar anyway, since Isabelle walked in casually, no problem. Her son looked happy in the bright bed, tired, but happy. She sat down on the edge, somewhat edgy about what had been done on the bed, and if she could sit here. Isabelle sat down too. She wasn't afraid of the bed.

"I'm all right, Magnus. Still a little numb, kinda tired. I'll be all right though," he assured him, smiling contentedly. It was great to be back, and mostly back to his normal condition. He felt like a different person, almost. Like he was going back to being the nostalgic, innocent Alec.

Magnus smiled at how happy Alec looked. He noted the two sitting on his bed, but he remained standing. "Good. I'm glad" he said, bending down to kiss him on the cheek lightly before holding his arms out to Maryse for his son. "He should actually get dressed. I have a few things here for him that should fit" he mentally shifted through the things he and Isabelle had picked out. Alec had helped. . . a little bit. All he knew was that Skylar was going to be one well-dressed child, and would probably be in a new outfit every half an hour. It was going to be fun to dress him up.

Maryse handed Magnus his child, now not sure what to do since she had occupied herself with focusing on her grandson. It felt weird to be a grandmother, actually, it didn't feel any different than how she felt before, but eventually Skylar would learn how to speak, and he'd call her Grandmother.

"Dressing up your son first day you see him?" Isabelle asked, getting up, wanting to help with clothes too. "You gotta remember to get him diapers and stuff." Now that they knew the gender of their child, Isabelle would be doing a lot more shopping, this time knowing what she was doing. Skylar was going to have more clothes than she had when she was little.

Magnus took Skylar carefully before leaving the room, headed to the room that he had Isabelle had converted into a nursery. "Well of course. What else am I going to do, leave him naked? He has to wait until he's older if he wants to do that" he said, not surprised that she was following him. He snapped his fingers and a package of diapers appeared in the middle of the room. "Problem solved. I can get everything as I need it" he shrugged. Placing the baby down on the change table he had gotten, he pulled a diaper from the package and was immediately lost. "Uhh. . . any idea what comes next?" he asked, turning to Isabelle. He had never had to deal with children.
