Magnus took the necklace out of the little box it came in, unclasping it as his Shadowhunter moved closer. He took either end of the silver necklace and brought it around the back of Alec's neck, expertly doing it up and admiring the wings resting against Alec's collarbone. From where his hands were around the back of the blue-eyed teen's neck, he pulled him closer for a kiss. He was hoping one of the Lightwoods could watch Skylar tonight. It was Christmas. They couldn't not have sex. It was like a rule or something.

Alec kissed Magnus as he was pulled closer. When Skylar was older they'd have to watch it a bit unless he knew better not to go around kissing guys. It was all right and all, but if Skylar thought that was how you addressed every guy you met, there might be a problem along the road. Time would tell their child's orientation. Alec, personally thought he might be a little happier if he liked girls, just because it was easier to find a female partner than a gay partner. Magnus would probably find it amusing is Skylar was gay, or at least bi.

Magnus smiled when Alec kissed him back. He didn't think they would have to watch out once Skylar was older. All parents kissed each other. If someone had had a child, they had obviously done more than kiss before. He didn't care what Skylar's orientation would be but it would be interesting to find out. He deepened the kiss slightly, shifting closer, mindful of the baby in Alec's lap, sliding his fingers back into his lover's hair. He couldn't help himself, being so close to Alec like that.

"I love you, Magnus," Alec said when he needed air. In three months they would be married, even though the rest of the States wouldn't recognize it, they'd be married in technical terms. Alec wanted to be connected as close as he could be to Magnus in any sense or term. Marriage, sex, and whatever else there was to claim them to each other. He clasped a hand with Magnus' hand, the other hand holding Skylar. He felt like just this, even this as simple as it was, connected them as a family.

"I love you too" Magnus replied simply, placing light kisses on his jaw. He couldn't wait until their wedding. Then they would be as close as possible. Married with a child, and loving each other as much as was possible. The corner of his lips twitched up into a small smile as Alec took his hand, and he squeezed Alec's gently, brushing his hair back with the other hand. A happy family on Christmas morning. He was loving this already. When he was younger, Christmas was like torture. Just another reminder that he wasn't human, and therefore he couldn't go to church with everybody else, because they wouldn't let him.

"So, was it worth getting up earlier than you've probably ever gotten up?" Alec asked, pretty sure Magnus thought it was. Just in case though, he wanted to make sure verbally anyway. Things couldn't be better in Alec's life right now, though Sebastian could be dead, and Jace and Clary could still be alive. He was okay with this though, what he had now. He had the rest of his family, and his new family. If the Clave could just never see this now, then things would stay good for a while.

Magnus nodded, pretty sure that it was, even if it was still way too early to be awake. "Of course. It's always worth it, if it's you waking me up" he grinned. Morning sex was great, even if he didn't often get it. But when he was woken up early, morning sex made it all better. "If somebody else wakes me up for a stupid reason though, that's just a death wish. People should know by now that it's a stupid idea to piss off High Warlocks" he sighed, rolling his eyes slightly at this. It really was annoying when people thought their problems were important enough to wake him up for.

Alec recalled Magnus' temper when someone woke him up too early. He was glad he was on the good side of Magnus' moods. Or at least he hoped he was most of the time. "I wonder if you'd really kill them if they woke you up. You usually just kind of send them away after yelling at them. I don't know how you get back to sleep after you've raised your voice so much or something." Magnus would have to not yell when he got clients early in the morning now, though, because his yelling would wake Skylar up and most likely make him cry, revealing his presence to people.

Magnus had to think about that one. "In all honesty, it depends on who it is that's waking me up" he shrugged. "I've hurt people before for waking me up. . . but not actually killed somebody. . . yet" he frowned, knowing that he would be living with Alec for the rest of his life, at least he hoped, but there was still a chance somebody he despised would wake him up early for something. That might result in death. "It's not too hard to fall back to sleep. I could probably go back to sleep right now, and I'm wide awake" he grinned. He could sleep any time he wanted, unless he was completely wired on something.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Hmm, must be pretty nice. Once my heart is beating normal pace, or if I've had to get up once, I can't go back to sleep." Sure, he could lie there with his eyes closed and pretend to sleep, but doing that didn't help him settle down any and go back to sleep. "Well, it's probably not a good idea to hurt people for waking you up. I mean, it's probably really effective and all, but it's still not a good idea." What would happen? Not sure, but all the same, Alec had a rule of thumb not to attack something that didn't attack him first or at all.

"How about if your heart is beating more than a normal pace. Because I do believe I have that effect on you" Magnus grinned. He could make Alec's heart pound with the simplest things, which he could feel. He loved it. He sighed slightly when he was told that hurting people when woken up wasn't a good idea. "Well I can't help it sometimes. When I get angry. . . I hurt people. It happens" he shrugged. If his emotions got out of control, so did his powers, but over the years he had reined that in. He was almost fully in control of that now. Almost.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Nahh, it's either resting pace for me or I'm up." Normal pace for him meant he was up and alert. Go back to sleep when his heart was normal pace? Maybe he did that when he was younger, but it was harder to do now. The life of a Shadowhunter couldn't really be considered a healthy one since there was lack of sleep involved, putting the life on the line, appendages and such included. Loads of stress related thins too, injuries didn't help much. Why did he still do this? Why did any of them do this? Because they had to, he supposed. He wouldn't quit it though unless he had to.

Magnus chuckled softly, shaking his head. "I think you're just weird. Althoguh you Shadowhunters were pretty much trained that once you're up, you're up, right? So you don't fall asleep on the way to kill something" he was pretty sure he knew the training of Shadowhunters just as well as one of the Nephilim did. He nuzzled at Alec's neck lightly, placing a kiss there beside the silver chain before looking down at the necklace. "That looks pretty on you, by the way" he said, looking from the silver wings to his favorite blue eyes.

[Nyako-Chan]

"I get that I'm weird every now and then. Isabelle likes saying so too. I don't think any Shadowhunter would fall asleep on the way to kill something. Adrenaline and what not, y'know?" Did Magnus get adrenaline rush from anything other than sex? Alec wondered. "Thanks. I like it a lot," he replied, touching it with his fingers, as if telling himself that he'd never take it off. Magnus could make it so it didn't lose its color or anything. Necklaces could go in water and everything, so he didn't think it'd be bad to take showers or something with it.

It didn't surprise Magnus that Isabelle told him that alot. "Well if somebody's sleep deprived and tired as hell, it's easy to fall asleep before the adrenaline kicks in" he shrugged. He had seen it happen more than once. It was possible, so Shadowhunters wanted to avoid that. He smiled when he saw Alec touching the necklace lightly. "You're welcome. I'm glad you like it. You're not generally the jewellery type, but I thought you might like that" he had been hoping he would, and he was happy that he did. It looked great on him, truly.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Maybe. I dunno." Alec had never done it, when he got older, anyway. As a child he might have, but he couldn't recall, he just assumed. All kids did that, especially Isabelle. Isabelle might do that once in a while now too, but her stubbornness would have her warring with nodding head and trying to be alert. "I've never worn jewelry before, I've never had a reason, I guess." He didn't see a point to it. It was just shiny and could get in the way of a fight. Most Shadowhunters didn't wear jewelry, unless it was part of their culture or they were celebrating something big.

That was fair enough, Magnus thought. Most people didn't remember things like he did. He had an exellent memory, if he remembered most things that had happened in his abnormally long life. Most Downworlders had good memory. Better than humans', at least. "Well now you do" he said, smiling slightly. He knew Alec wasn't one to dress up unless it was absolutely necessary, but the necklace was a nice touch. It was pretty simple, and added just a bit of style to what he wore, even if it was just ratty old clothes.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Yeah, now I do. Trust me, it'll always be on," he told Magnus, grateful for the pretty gift. The chain was short enough where it probably wouldn't snag on anything, and that was one of the big reasons Shadowhunters didn't wear chains or anything. If it snagged, or a monster got hold of it, then it was the Shadowhunter's mistake of wearing it, not the monster's for finding it and grabbing it as a weak spot. It wasn't necessary to wear the necklace, technically, but Alec wanted to. He would make sure he never lost it.

"Good. You needed something to dress up your appearance even a little bit anyways" Magnus grinned, giving Alec a quick peck on the cheek. He was hoping it wouldn't be a hindrance, but he figured it couldn't be something that would get him killed. Unless a Demon got hold of it or something. But hopefully it would break before the Demon could do anything. He would obviously rather the necklace break than have Alec killed. He would rather die than have Alec killed. And he was pretty Narcissistic, so that was saying something.

"If you say so," Alec said, but his appearance wasn't all that important as long as Magnus still loved him. He supposed at this point if Magnus told him he was leaving him just because he didn't look nice enough, he might actually try to look good just so Magnus would stay. That was wrong, on both of their parts, sure. Magnus shouldn't love Alec just because he may or may not look good, and Alec shouldn't find it worth it to be the one who has to change just to keep Magnus' favor. It wasn't fair for him, and it wasn't right to have that demanded. People shouldn't have to change just to please someone else. "Looks aren't all that special, but I like how the necklace looks on me."

"I do say so" Magnus shrugged. Normally for his one-night stands, he went for looks, to see how well somebody looked, and looked like they could move, but in a relationship, looks were just a bonus. He was the most lucky man on earth, he thought, for getting such a sweet, innocent partner, who just happened to be the cutest thing on earth. "Looks say a lot about people though. People normally dress to convey a message. You dress down and try to hide your looks, because you don't want people to notice you. I do the exact opposite" he pointed out, running his fingers through his hair.

"Clearly," Alec responded. "You could catch the eyes of anyone within a three mile radius." Bright colors and what not could really stand out. Alec, downplaying his looks, would just be dismissed as just another teenager out on the streets up to no good in ratty clothing and unkempt hair. "I don't even know how you saw through my downplayed clothing. You say it tells things about people. What do mine say about me?" He figured it said to people that he didn't care what he looked like, he didn't want them to see him, and whatever else involving evading people, but to Magnus, who deciphered things different, could have meant anything.

Magnus flashed his lover a grin, since that was exactly what he was aiming for. He loved being the centre of attention. "Well, you didn't do a very good job of hiding yourself. But I do also have a good eye for beauty" he nodded. "Your appearance says that you're nervous in social situations, so try to avoid people, are used to being a wallflower, and you're shy. It also says that you're used to hiding in people's shadows, and don't want to draw any attention to yourself" he knew this was all true, having known him long enough. It hadn't taken very long to figure this all out.

[Nyako-Chan]

"You can read all that from just the way I dress?" Alec said with surprise in his voice. Some of that had to be from Magnus knowing him for as long as he had. People couldn't discern all of that just from a glance at clothing and maybe how they acted. That was possible, sure, but that sounded insane to Alec that someone could get that just from clothing type. Alec tried reading what Magnus wore, trying to exclude what he already knew. Magnus' clothes were loud and eye grabbing, he definitely wanted attention that he was flaming and rich. Something about confidence with appearance and so on. Magnus had to be reading more into appearance than he seemed to be.

"I've had a lot of time to learn what people say with their clothes, but yes. It's just the way you dress and the way you hold yourself. I could have guessed half your life on that first day I met you" Magnus had known so much about Alec by just the way he looked, and the way he spoke up for him when he had told the young Shadowhunters about his past. "But you know what? I still learn new things about you every day" it really was true. Every time he thought he had Alec figured out, he'd surprise him with something else. It was shocking sometimes, but Magnus liked it.
