"I guess I do kinda slouch, huh?" Alec asked, unconsciously straightening his back, according to how he was slouching right now. "Learning more? What's to learn? I'm just me." He was just any ordinary Shadowhunter, minus the hiding his gay relationship life from the rest of them. "I don't even know what you could figure out each day. Don't I do the same things over and over?" He was a routine kind of guy, he functioned better if he knew what was supposed to go on every day, even if it got boring. Magnus didn't make every day the same though, with him, things repeated rarely.

"Just a bit. But you can fix that easily enough. All it takes is some practice and some confidence" Magnus smiled, hoping Alec would get that confidence. Everybody needed some. Sure, he loved that Alec was still shy around him sometimes, but confidence was still needed. "Everybody changes things every once and a while, and every day you'll do something or say something that I didn't expect. It's cute" he shrugged, knowing that these were unconcious things that his lover didn't notice, but he noticed. He noticed everything about his Shadowhunter.

"Oh, that's kinda cool," Alec said, wondering what he'd said before that hadn't been expected. During their argument before sex, he supposed him trying to beg his way into winning had definitely been one of those things that hadn't been expected. He hadn't even expected it from himself. Things about himself surprised him too, sometimes. He'd heard of people not knowing their own strength, but never not knowing what they could say. Alec must be the weird one of the bunch of people he knew. Magnus liked it, he took it, so Alec was okay with being weird.

A laugh escaped Magnus's lips when Alec said it was cool. "Yeah. It interesting to see what you'll do from day to day. Maybe one day you'll try and top me with no encouragement" he teased, grinning. The day would come eventually when Alec would take the dominant role, to switch it up, but the Shadowhunter needed some more confidence first. The poor boy probably wouldn't even know what to do, no matter how many times it had been done to him. But he liked seeing the things Alec did. Like how he had told off Maryse about a month ago for being rude to Magnus. The grin hadn't left his face all week, thanks to that.

"Maybe, who knows," Alec said, having wanted to learn from their encounters of sex, but would forget to keep that in mind once he was touched by Magnus. He knew as much as foreplay and such, though that sounded easy, the mood was kind of hard to make. Or at least, that was how he saw it. He didn't feel ready to try yet, he'd have to wait until he felt more confidence and knew more on what he was doing. Dominating Alec sounded odd, but it sounded new, and interesting, and different, certainly something worth seeing one day in their relationship.

Magnus was sure it would happen one day, but that day was probably pretty far off. Alec would be comfortable with it eventually, and they could switch it up every once and a while, but there was no way he was going to be topped all the time once Alec learned. His little Shadowhunter would always be his uke. "I'm sure they have classes for that or something. You should check them out. Or," he grinned, "I could teach you." He liked this suggestion better, but either worked. Alec would get it eventually, and until then, they were perfectly comfortable in their sex life.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Classes? You're kidding, right?" Why would they have classes to tell you how to top people? Magnus had to be kidding, which was why he was offering to teach Alec himself, right? "Umm, maybe later. I'll have to get back to you eventually on that one." Alec could see how that would end up, Magnus showing him almost step by step how to be toppers in a relationship. Maybe they'd try it some time when Alec felt more confident in what he might be able to do. For now, with this in mind, he'd be trying to pay more attention to what Magnus did.

"Of course I'm kidding. And even if they did, do you really think I would suggest that? In case you havn't noticed, I'm rather jealous sometimes. There's no way I would put you in a class like that unless I went with you, and even then, it would probably scar you for life, no matter how many time's we've done it" Magnus laughed, shaking his head slightly at Alec's gullibility. He would be fine with showing him how to be top, once he was ready. It would be fun, and definitely worth it in the end.

"Oh, that's good. I'm not even sure a thing like that would be legal," Alec said, because it probably would never be something the government would want to fund or support. "I don't think I'd want to even look at one of those kinds of classes." It sounded kind of scary if it was someone he didn't even know, trying to show people how to be on top in a relationship. He didn't even know if people would actually take a class like that. They had their partners to teach them that. He'd have to think most people would agree that it was better if it was taught from love, and not just by some sort of book or instructor.

"It's not" Magnus smirked, finding no problem with doing things against the law. Things were more fun that way. "Downworlders tend to get away with illiegal things with nobody being any wiser. My parties exel in the illiegal acts category" he grinned, wishing he could be throwing a party this Christmas. He had people complaining that he hadn't been throwing parties for a long time, but he didn't care about them, very much. He would get back to his parties eventually, just fewer and far between. He wasn't sure Alec would like to attend them, even if it was his house. "All I ask is that you don't let that slip to the Clave by accident. They wouldn't be exactly. . . ehh. . . happy, with me" Magnus grimaced slightly. The Clave didn't exactly like Warlocks, let alone High Warlocks doing illiegal things.

"Yeah, they do get away with the Mundane laws. The Clave goes after you though when you do something way out of line." It had to be out of line in the Clave's eyes, but Mundie wise, they could go nuts because people couldn't see downworlders more or less. Those with sight didn't count much because they didn't do much with the sight. "I'm sure the Clave knows about things the downworlders do, but as long as it's not killing anything, maybe they just turn a blind eye to it." Mundane police did that too, and sometimes they were paid off. The Clave was less likely to accept payment to look the other way, but still, it wasn't impossible.

[RippedNose]

"If they know about it. . . " Magnus's tone was slightly evasive, and he glanced around. He couldn't count the number of illiegal things he had done that the Clave had no idea about. He was good at covering his tracks and such. "The Clave needs to calm down and pull the sticks out of their asses. . . no offense" he added the last part quickly, giving a slightly apologetic grin. He was just glad that Alec and his sister were both more fun to be around. Robert wasn't bad, and Maryse was teetering on the edge of stick-up-the-ass and okay. "Maybe" he agreed, nodding.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Then they won't find out. Just don't make it obvious or just don't do it that often," Alec said. "It's simple to stay out of trouble." He didn't get in trouble, and usually didn't look for it. It wasn't his fault everyone he hung out with got into it all the time, dragging him into it and leaving him to get them out of it. Not so much anymore, since Isabelle wasn't too bad with trouble, but still. "The Clave is following tradition. Very old tradition. They're afraid to beak something that's been followed and believed in for so long." It's like people being afraid of breaking a routine.

"I'll try, but I make no promises" there was no way Magnus could keep a promise like that. Alec probably knew that too. Illiegal things were just so much more fun. That was why they were illiegal. The world was just stupid that way. "Tradition is fine, to an extent. But the Clave passed the line two hundred years ago" he sighed, shaking his head. Most of the bitterness he felt towards the Clave and their tradition was that if they found out about this, they would try to rip apart their happy little family.

"I think the Clave does more annoyances than it helps. I mean, it keeps everything in line, but it could stand to let things step out of line just a bit. Everything has to be by the book with them. It's worse than the Mundane government. It makes no sense, and it's all for power." Mundane government was complex, and only had people who lied and wanted more power and money. The Clave wasn't like that, but they certainly did have enough power to rule all of the Shadowhunters in the world. They could dim it down a bit, everyone thought. His mother thought so too, but that could be her just hating taking orders.

Magnus wasn't sure the Clave actually helped at all, but he nodded anyways. There was no point in aruging. "People do crazy things for power. Power, love, and hate, are the things that affect people the most" he knew people who had died for the ones they loved, and he knew he would do that same, if the situation ever arose. "Anyways, enough of this dismal coversation. It's Christmas! And there are still presants to open!" he looked back to the smaller now pile of presants, some of which were for Skylar.

"Stuff happens. Emotions are very controlling." Alec realized they'd been lead off topic. "Ah, you're right. Ahh, what did you get Skylar?" he asked Magnus, since he'd tried to get things that Isabelle hadn't already gotten. He'd looked for things that Magnus might not get anyway. Alec had gotten a few children books for him, a few that Max had liked a baby. The books with those finger puppets, or maybe the ones that could be felt. Alec personally, had spent a bit of time petting the fuzz in the book. He had liked those too, he'd read to Skylar, and one day, maybe Skylar's first words would be something he learned from the books.

Magnus knew exactly how controlling emotions were, and had learned how to mess with that when he really needed to. He laughed slightly when Alec realized how off-topic they had gotten. "I got him some more clothes, ones for when he's a bit bigger, and I got him some blocks and things. . . kids tend to like those. And a really cute teddy bear" he said, listing out the things as he thought of them. He had had fun shopping for Skylar and Alec both. It was fun shopping in general, but picking out what he thought they would like, or would look adorable or sexy on Alec was always fun.

"Ah, the bear thing was a good idea. I got him a turtle. A really soft turtle." A dark brown shell, and the turtle itself was almost a grey, because the green was so dark. It was a soft turtle, and could be used as a pillow if Skylar really wanted to. ((Actually, I should try using mine as a pillow) "I got him books, because I wasn't sure what else to get him, and books are good for kids. I also found another CD for him to listen to. He might like it. It's maybe a little faster than the one he has now, but it's still as quiet." It had nothing that would alarm the baby in the middle of the night or anything, so it was okay.

Magnus listened as Alec explained what he had gotten for Skylar. "Sounds good. If he understood, I'm sure he'd love it. Books were a good idea. I didn't think of those" he looked towards the presants again before back to Alec. "Well, shall we?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. The CD would be a nice change for Skylar as well, since he listened to the same music every night. "By the way, what time are we heading to the Institute?" he asked, tilting his head to the side and picking up his coffee. He didn't know if they had a time set, but it was a good idea to ask.

Magnus didn't do much for books anyway, maybe that was why he didn't think of it. It didn't matter much anyway. When they had some quiet time Alec would read to Skylar, and how him the fuzzy of the pets in the books. Alec grabbed a present for Skylar, showing the baby the brightly colored box, even if he wouldn't understand its meaning, or care, just yet. "Umm, Isabelle didn't really say, but we used to eat at maybe noon, or three? Depends on what Mom is making. Isabelle's not allowed to cook on the holidays." Isabelle was disappointed, but understood. She was allowed to cook every other day of the year though.

Magnus hadn't been to an actual Christmas dinner with normal people before, so he had no idea what to expect. The most he had experienced were banquets, and dinner with his friends, which normally ended up as a bunch of drunk idiots stumbling around, including him. He was looking forward to this. "I don't think Isabelle should be allowed to cook ever" he muttered, shaking his head. Thanks to Alec, he had choked down her cooking, when Alec had told him that she was the pregnant one.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Yeah, she doesn't understand that yet," Alec said, "Mom and Dad try to tell her to ease up on the spices, and she does, when they say spices." But really, it could use some spices, anything to take out the original flavor. Alec was more afraid of the original flavor than what she put in there to 'modify' it. "She can usually cook things that are already made as long as she doesn't add her own things in, or try to change the time the microwave or stove says." Isabelle should be banned from all kitchens. They all thought so, and she never took the hint.

Magnus sighed and shook his head. "She's a menace to the kitchen as well as the demons. Things with instructions on it are almost impossible to screw up. . . althoguh she doesn't exactly like being told what to do, does she?" he rolled his eyes, knowing that she only did most of the work for the Clave because she enjoyed being badass, and because she had to. He grabbed a presant off of the ground, holding it out to Alec. It was for Skylar, but he couldn't exactly open his own presants yet. "Well at least she's not burning the Institute down on Christmas" he said cheerfully.

[Nyako-Chan]

"Oh, instructions? Her worst enemy, but she says bad hair days are her worst enemies. I'm not sure what those are, but I guess it has something to do with what her hair looks like?" His sister's hair looked the same to him as it always did, it was always long and dark, and never out of place. She'd walk in the kitchen, grumpy, and whine how she was having a bad hair day. "Oh, she's done it once. Another reason she's not allowed to cook on holidays." Easter had not been kind to them. They'd just been trying to boil eggs to paint one Easter, and she nearly burned the kitchen down. He took the present and opened it for Skylar. He showed the baby the present, and he smiled. Skylar would be spoiled when he was old enough, Alec just knew it.
