Re: A Sight to See
"Alright, sounds cool" Draylen nodded, getting to his feet. He brushed his hands off on his jeans before stretching them above his head, his t-shirt riding up a bit, and he was self concious for a moment, thinking of the belly-button ring he had gotten last year on this day, but he didn't know if Nathaniel had been looking or not. "I don't know what we'll do at my house, but we can figure something out" he shrugged. He could normally find something to do, so he was sure they would be fine.
Re: A Sight to See
Nathaniel's eyes caught the bit of skin that flashed from Draylen stretching and his shirt not being long enough to cover the area. He thought he saw a glint of something, but perhaps he was imagining things. His eyes played awful tricks on him. He couldn't trust them all the time. "Of course," he said, turning his head to act as if he hadn't been staring and pondering what he might or might not have seen. The Brit grabbed his keys from his pocket and put an arm around Dray's waist again. "Off we go then," he said, heading for the door.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen nodded and brushed his hair back out of his face. He ignored looks of other people, simply smiling brightly at the arm wrapped around his waist. "Okay. Thanks for the ice cream" he said, looking up to Nathaniel as they walked towards the door. It was the best ice cream he had had in a long time, and he wouldn't mind coming back quite often. He was thinking of what they could do at his house once they got there. His dad was probabaly going to be there, and his mom would be home later, so Nathaniel could meet his parents.
Re: A Sight to See
"No problem," he replied, opening the door and having Dray go first. He clicked the car unlocked before hopping in the front seat and starting the car. He had a habit of putting on his seat belt after starting the car sometimes. Nothing really wrong with it as long as he didn't start driving and then put his seat belt on, still. "So many places to learn where to go," he said. America's streets were on and off busy. Sometimes he felt like he was back home and driving on the other side of the road. He'd recall where he was and remember Americans don't drive like that.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen grinned and walked out the door, thinking of what people had said many times. 'And I thought chivalry was dead'. He hadn't thought much about that saying until now. He hopped in the passenger seat and did up his seat belt. He laughed at what Nathaniel said about directions. "Directions is one thing I don't have a problem with. My problem is being on the highway and running through a ghost. I can be your navigator though" he suggested, grinning. He could easily navigate somebody to anywhere in the area. He wouldn't go as far as the city, since it was a big place.
Re: A Sight to See
"Being on the highway and running through a ghost...?" Nathaniel backed the car out slowly before getting onto the main road and driving back to the mall. "I understand ghosts being on the highway, but you run through them?" Animal ghosts or people ghosts? Did Draylen see ghosts anyway? Nathaniel had a sensitivity to their corpses, but he never saw them. He got ill when he was driving and drove over them. He couldn't explain it, but he had confused it with his sympathy for animals. It bothered no one else who was an animal lover.
Re: A Sight to See
"Yeah, if they're in the way. I can't exactly just swerve out of the way" Draylen shrugged. It was terrifying to do that, but it didn't happen often. It was mostly when the ghost knew he could see it, and would stare or glare at him for the split second that they were in the car together. "Other than that though, I don't have any problems with driving. Navigation isn't a problem for me, and I didn't grow up driving on the wrong side of the street" he grinned, wondering what it would be like to drive in Britain.
Re: A Sight to See
"Wrong side of the street? The only wrong side is the side you Americans drive on." There couldn't really be a right and wrong side of the road to drive on if all the road did was make it safer to drive. They worked the same way, just steering was different. "I'm better with book work, not navigation memorizing rubbish." Bookwork was logic, navigation was understanding the area you lived in. Nathaniel wasn't from the area and didn't know it that well. "Driving requires a lot of thinking skills, being alert and such. Doesn't matter where you go. Except Venice. They don't have roads," he frowned, wondering what it might be like to ride only gondolas and be surrounded by water in the town. He didn't swim well, he was pretty weak at it.
Re: A Sight to See
"Ha, you silly Brit have it backwards" Draylen nodded, picturing cars on the right coming towards them, and the thought was mildly scary. It would reverse everything he had ever learned about driving, and that was never good. "You should get a GPS" he suggested, shrugging. That was always a good thing, if someone got lost easily. It was a possible gift, for when Nathaniel's birthday or Christmas came by. He made a note to keep that in mind.
Re: A Sight to See
"Thought about one of them once," he said as he pulled into the mall parking lot and found Draylen's car. "Dunno. I don't go that many places I guess?" He never had to go very many places. He wouldn't mind going farther out in the state, maybe country, but he didn't quite think he'd make it back easy. "Gps could be useful for finding long distance places anyway." He let the car engine idle so Draylen could get into his own car. He'd follow him from there and go to the American's house where the cats unfortunately were.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen laughed, nodding his understanding. "Yeah, that makes sense" he said as they pulled into the parking lot near his car. "Okay, I'll see you at my place" he said, smiling brightly and leaning towards Nathaniel to steal a quick kiss before he opened the door and hopped out, waving as he closed the door. He walked to his car and unlocked it, grinning at the pillow in his passenger seat for a moment before starting the engine.
Re: A Sight to See
Nathaniel smiled at the quick kiss he had gotten. Draylen was sweet, Nathaniel could honestly say this relationship felt more alive than any of his others had, and he wasn't even that far into this one. Maybe it was the connection they had between each other, the thing the male with Sight could detect in others. He put his car back into drive, getting out of the mall parking lot and onto the road, recalling the route to the American's home with the cats that were very nice, but unfortunately triggers to his allergies.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen pulled out of his parking spot and turned towards home, exiting the mall parking lot. The radio was on immediately, and he hummed along to the song playing, one of the popular songs for the pre-teens, but he knew the words anyways, just from listening to the radio all the time. Soon enough he was turning onto his street, able to see his dads car even from here. He had figured his dad would be home, so this just confirmed his beliefs. He was fine introducing Nathaniel to his family as his boyfriend, but he would ask the older male first.
Re: A Sight to See
Nathaniel was almost thrown off by the car in the driveway that he hadn't seen before. His mind made him hold a flicker of doubt and anxiety that he had gotten the wrong house. He pulled to the side of the street, Draylen had to get in the driveway anyway, and if Nathaniel parked his car here then it'd be easier to get out of the street when he left. He parked the car and got out to wait for his boyfriend, making sure everything was the house he'd been to the first time. The Brit was admittedly paranoid about getting things wrong in front of others.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen saw Nathaniel's car parked at the curb, with it's owner standing outside of it. He pulled into the empty spot in the driveway and turned off the car, taking off his seatbelt and grabbing the pac-man ghost pillow off of the seat beside him, getting out and locking the car. "Hey" he greeted Nathaniel, smiling brightly. "My dad's home, but he won't bother us" he said, walking over to the taller of the two. He tilted his head to the side, looking more serious now. "I can tell him you're my boyfriend, but if you don't want me to I won't" he said, looking up at Nathaniel almost solemnly.
Re: A Sight to See
"Ah, sure, I'd like to meet him," he agreed, "I'll stay until your mom gets home or your dad kicks me out early." Nathaniel's girlfriend's father had kicked him out every time he'd come around. He could understand a male who looked like trouble getting kicked out, but he wasn't rambunctious. Maybe it was just because he was a male. He read stories how some fathers were with their daughters. "You must be very comfortable with your family and your sexuality," he said, hoping Draylen wouldn't ask to be introduced to his parents. They would be disappointed even if he was bisexual.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen laughed, hugging the ghost pillow to his chest. "My dad won't kick you out, don't worry" he assured him, knowing for a fact already. His dad had never had a problem with him having his boyfriends over, and he was sure Nathaniel was the best one he'd had. "Yeah, I'm pretty cool with it. My parents were a bit shocked, but they got over it, and they support me" he said, smiling. "You sure though? I don't have to tell them. I know some people don't like parents to know and such" he shrugged, wanting to make sure Nath was okay with him telling his parents.
Re: A Sight to See
"I don't mind your parents knowing if they're that great about your orientation." He'd bring nothing up with his parents. He didn't think it was fair to be introduced to one set of parents and not the other because one person was ashamed of what they were. To not be acknowledged by both families could be unfair and maybe a little cruel to the serious couples. They weren't there yet. Someday, if it got serious with Draylen, he'd try to face his parents and introduce Dray.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen nodded, smiling. "Alright. Then let's go" he nodded towards the house, starting to walk up the driveway, still hugging his new pillow, which was officially one of his favorite posessions. He opened the front door once he got there, stepping in and kicking off his shoes, bending down to pet Kitty, at the door when he got home as always. "Dad! I'm home!" he called, hearing the answering shout telling him that his father was in the kitchen.
Re: A Sight to See
The Brit was a little nervous when he followed Draylen into his house. The last time he'd been here only the cats were here. Draylen said just his dad was home, so one parent at a time at least. They obviously wouldn't be taking it bad though since this wasn't the first boyfriend they'd been introduced to. Nathaniel couldn't be the worst one either. As long as he made a good impression on them then they could get along fine.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen smiled and grabbed Nathaniel's hand with his own, pulling him to the kitchen. "Dad, I've got a friend over" he called as he walked there, just so his father was aware before he dragged his boyfriend into the room. He skirted the closet again, as he always did, unsure if Nathaniel could feel anything from there or not. He had never seen or heard anything from there, but something kept him away from it anyways. He shrugged these thoughts off, walking into the kitchen and smiling at his dad.
Re: A Sight to See
Nathaniel was feeling a bit shy, maybe embarrassed. He hadn't been introduced to parents before, not another male's parent actually. He hadn't really liked talking to other people's parents because they would always judge him if he was with another male. He kept the relationship secret, he found it fair that if he wasn't introduced to theirs, they wouldn't be offended if he didn't introduce them to his. He touched his back pocket where the tarot were for comfort, feeling some of the nervousness fade away slowly.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen smiled as his dad looked up, smiling at Nathaniel. "A friend, eh? And who might this be?" his dad asked, looking back to the shorter of the two, having noted the joined hands.
"This is Nathaniel. He's my new boyfriend" Draylen responded happily, and his father nodded, smiling.
"Well it's nice to meet you Nathaniel" the rather tall man said, walking over and holding his hand out to the unfamiliar man.

Re: A Sight to See
Nathaniel looked over at the man who was Draylen's father. He could see the resemblance and wondered if Draylen looked more like his mother or his father. He met the other hand with his own, shaking it half confidently. "Hullo sir, pleased to meet you." He inclined his head, a habit since speech with strangers made his voice weaker and a little hesitant. He had picked up the head nod early in life when his voice didn't always carry over to the addressed. Inclination of the head usually finished the sentence for him, showing them he returned the greeting for the most part.
Re: A Sight to See
Draylen grinned as the two shook, pleased to see that his father seemed happy for him, and Nathaniel seemed okay with this as well, if not finding it a tad awkward. But that was okay. "British? Interesting" Draylen's father nodded, looking a bit impressed. It wasn't often you found someone straight from Britain running around New York. "Well you boys have fun. I'll probably be around here, I've got some work to do."
"Mm'kay. See ya" Draylen smiled, waving at his dad before turning around to leave the room, still holding Nathaniel's hand.
