He yelped and got them both further inside, cradling a burn on his hand. The sun had just come up.

"The pack... functions a lot like a normal wolf pack, which you may be more familiar with. There is an alpha pair, which will be you and I. The alpha pair is the only guaranteed breeding pair in the family, though in our case I don't mind waiting. I don't want proginy yet. Now, the beta pair, that would be my twin sister Rizeea, and her new plaything Eichi, though like you he is a new convert and still has much to learn. So for now the power of the station rests in my sister. In normal wolf packs the sibling of an alpha becomes omega, to keep he or she from trying to take over. Not so with our kind; a sibling is someone to be trusted and respected.
Then there's a member called many things, that does many duties. Captian, master Huntsman, et cetera. That, in our unfortunate case, is Darious."
He turned to look at her, looking relaxed. "There are other ranks and duties, but my family is so small that those are the only ones we need concern ourselves with. You and i will some day become a breeding pair, and my sister and Eichi are, and God help us if Darious ever finds a mate. There are some other units in the hierarchy that may become breeders, but mostly it's just those upper three echelons. Even Darious's position is chancey for it."

"Mmmm, but you are no ordinary woman, are you?" he said, eyeing dinner ravenously.

Tessa tried to take all the information in, though it helped a bit when he mentioned that they where like a normal wolf pack with just small differences. She eyed him curiously when he said something on not being in any hurry to have children* well .. jim said the same thing.... though his words where more on the line of never having them. * shaking her head she watched him stretch out on her couch. which almost was to small for his length. Smiling slightly she got up and stretched. " eh. i agree with you on the darious finding a mate thing.don't think there is a girl out there he can't insult. " moving over to him.and probably shocking him she nudged him over, which thankfully her couch was wide enough for, and laid down next to him. she was still upset bout the whole jim thing and frankly this was her way of distracting herself. snuggling close she frowned, surprised by how warm he was. Rose grinned. " nah his blood is sweet. probably due to all the sodas he drinks. and chris.. dont worry bout me wanting my own space ok?. i prefer to actually spend time with you.. " grinned and pulled him close before giving him a sweet kiss. "feed. before the guy figures out how to escape."

Granted, Raizen was a bit surprised at how warmly she had responded to him being here. Honestly, he'd thought she would have given him a vicious verbal lashing and sent him packing.
So when she came over to sofa--his bare feet hanging off the edge--and snuggled down next to him, he was indeed surprised, and wrapped his arm around her. He chuckled. "We're designed to withstand the cold, even subarctic temperatures."

Chris smile and kissed her back, just as sweetly, nipping her lower lip before breaking away and with graceful silence, he stalked over to the hunter. He had to admit he was hungry--it had been a few days since he could take his fill. He hadn't wantedto weaken Rose. They both needed to be at thier full strength in this hostile territory.
He knelt down, a wicked smirk on his face, and as he wove his fingers through the hunter's hair, and jerked his head back to expose his throat, Chris looked up at Rose. "You sure you don't want some?"

she smiled at his chuckle, his deep laugh sounded good to her since she could hear it deep in him while her ear was pressed to his chest. closing her eyes she felt his arm go around her, nearly laughing herself when she saw his feet just dangling off the couch. Sliding her hand over his chest and belly she looked up at him slightly .. '' really?.. aww and here i thought i was just lucky to have a really warm guy on my couch. '' teased, sticking her tongue out at him before slowly sighing, the smile fading as she watched him.. '' you know... normally i would have kicked your ass when you showed up here.. i hate when people invade my space.. but... without you here to really explain a few things.. .i would have gone nuts i think... bonkers really to the point where people would have had me put in the padded room'' she was greatful that he was there.. though the circumstances should and could have been better. Enjoying his kiss and then watched him go to the hunter, who tried his best to squirm, or wiggle as she saw it, his way away from Chris, but the tight hold on his hair kept him still. Wasn't her fault the guy choose to hunt vampires as his profession. He should have been smarter and became a lawyer or something.

Hearing his question she gave him a warm look.. '' i am positive hun. your bigger then me and need alot more to sustain you then i do. i am fine. get your fill and the come back to bed over here so we can cross off another area that has been searched. '' she glanced at the pile of maps they had collected, one of them she actually took off the hunter and now picked it up to study it. he had apparently circled places on the map that where known places for vampires.. though she wasnt' sure since it was written in romanian words, something she regretting not knowing. But since Chris was someone familiar with this place he might be able to read it.

Chris smiled, then used his hold on the hunter's hair to brutally jerk his head back. Then, without abandon, Chris let his inner predator loose for the first time in two weeks, and savagely dopped his jaws to the hunter's throat, literally ripped it open, and proceeded to feed at his leisure, growling softly into it.

the mans eyes widened in shock as his head was suddenly jerked back, but being bound and gagged he couldn't do much but give a muffled scream of pain and tried to struggle as much as he possibly could before his throat was practically ripped out, He had been trying to curse the woman for bringing him here and now he knew he was going to die..

She watched him feed for a moment before getting up , stretching slowly and grinning as she saw the man's eyes go widen, not really with fear, more like with. holly shit is this really happening to me? kinda thing. licking her lips a little she moved over to Chris and knelt down behind him, leaning forward and lightly nuzzled his own neck as she watched him feed, sliding her arms around his waist, her palms splayed over his chest as her fingers where spread wide as she closed her eyes.. '' mmmmm poor little man.. bet he would have struggled a little more if i hadn't tied him up like a stuffed piggy. ''

Chris had his eyes closed. He could feel the strength returning to his body that had waned since he'd last fed upon human blood. It happened to all of thier kind, and for the first twenty-four hours afterwards, a vampire was in his or her most dangerous state.
Oh, sure, feeding off of Rose and her delicious blood kept him fit, and healthy, but it was like a carnivore eating meat-flavored tofu. But with a human's blood, well, it didn't take a rocket scientist to draw the inevitable conclusion.
Of course, the intimacy of the feeding had always aroused him a little--not for the individual of course, but for the contact itself. He was grateful that Rose had realized this, and was even more grateful for her possessive touch.
He drew forth a pint and a half, almost a whole two pints, and finally, his hunger satiated, he pulled away and touched a finger to his lips, wiping away the drops of red befroe licking his finger clean, and he looked over his shoulder at his mate, and smiled, eyes half closed. If he looked absolutely gorgeous normally, in this state of post-feeding vigor, he looked damn fucking good.

she watched him feed, every now and then nuzzling his neck and giving small kisses, when he finished anf spoke she grinned and lightly kissed him. he looked really damn good the way he was just sitting there all content. " mmm you sure you got enough love?. i want you to get all you need before i take any. might be a while before we can do this again." her gaze went straight to the hunter though and already her hunger began to beat at her.

"Trust me, I highly doubt any padded cell could ever hold you for very long, my dear." the alpha said, chuckling deeply. "Especially now that you're one of us. The guards wouldn't stand a chance."
He winked, then teased, "Best put that tongue back in your mouth before I put it to use."
When she asked him her question, Raizen arched a brow. "Without getting defensive? Alright... I'll try."

"Trust me, if I took everything I need, there wouldn't be a drop left in him. You need to be at your full strength just as much as I do." Chris said, his tone serious. "Which is why we should try and refrain from feeding on each other, unless it becomes a dire emergency."
He lapped up a few drops remaining on the hunter's skin, and though he certainly was mroe satisfied than before, the spark of hunger still burned within his enchanting red violet eyes. "Come here now, and take your fill. I'll take whatever's left once you're through. In the meantime I'll look over those maps. Romanian's a bitch to translate sometimes, especially in writing."

she blinked in surprise at his serious tone and for some odd reason felt like she just got an ass chewing. That and when he put a ban on them feeding from one another just irked her, she enjoyed it when they did that, made her feel like they where getting a closer bond.. wrinkling her nose she grunted again as he ordered her to get over there.. '' fine.. but don't think you can keep ordering me about like this.. '' she teased, reaching over to turn him to face her, seeing his red eyes so leaned down and lightly kissed him, tasting the mans blood on his lips as she deepened the kiss for a few minutes.

Finally pulling back she nudged him . '' go get those maps.. i will get my fill and let you know when i am done. '' she nudged him a little more to get some room before she picked up the half awake hunter and sank her fangs in ,enjoying the yelp from the man as she bit deep, closing her eyes and relaxing as she began to feel extremely better.

"Oh, I have my creative ways..." he trailed off pointedly. He had to admit, the idea of her tongue working over his flesh gave him sinful ideas.
Then he listened to her question, his arm around her, his thumb caressing her shoulder. He pondered his answer for a moment, then gave it. "...I confess, I'm not sure. But I suppose it was the fight in you. When we confronted you on the barge, you didn't back down. Most humans do, women especially. But you... you fought. And you fought hard.
"....I suppose the wolf in me recognized your spirit as a kindred one. Someone who it would be worth taking the risk to change."
Raizen leaned his head back, his breath nice and even, eyes closed as he explained, "When a werewolf converts a human, he takes the same sort of risk the human is. The venom in our fangs is a by-product of our own blood. The more we use, the more blood we lose. And it's not just our blood, it's a part of our soul. We risk death just as the human risks death when we change them."

Chris hated the idea of not feeding from her just as much as she. Indeed, he did feel closer to her whenever they did. But, sadly, the risk was too high for them to be weakened in any way.
Angelica and her coven will have only gotten stronger with time and training. And with the increase of human population in this isolated area, it gave them more opportunity to feed.
Just as he could feel the vigor, the power in his body just now, coarsing through him from feeding, so too did it have the same effect on all others of thier kind. And the older a vampire was, the longer they could maintain that strength before it faded again. And all of Angelica's coven were older than he.
He was afraid he wouldn't be able to protect his mate.

He distracted himself from that chilling prospect with the maps, working them over with mind and pen, even a protractor and a compass, until he triangulated a likely next place to search for Angelica's hideout, all the while with sleep tugging at his eyelids. He may have post-feeding vigor pounding through his bloodstream at the moment, but a weary body's need to sleep always had more power over caffiene. It may be delayed, but eventually sleep always won the battle.

she had to give herself credit for sitting still while she listened to Raizen, her body was aching with hormones and yet she was calm as ever as she watched him, listening to his answer and even relaxing and enjoying the little carress he was giving with his thumb on her shoulder.'' mmm i am never one to back down from anythhing.. boss usually tells me thats a flaw in me or something... could get me into serious trouble. she took as much as she could, given the fact that she was smaller in size then him, she didn't need much, and surprisingly the hunter was still alive, well. just barely , pulling back and healing the bite so as not to waste any of the blood she licked her lips and looked over at Chris, some how sensing his tiredness and a bit of his worries she dropped the hunter, got up and stretched, her hands way above her head as she did so before walking over behind him,leaning forward and lightly kissed his neck as she slid her arms over his back then around his torso. '' mmm still some left for you if you wish to to feed more.. then we can sleep you need it and i don't want you all cranky from lack of it. ''

she glanced at the maps over his shoulders and saw how much he had done. '' nicely done.. your going to have to teach me how to do that one of these days. that way i can do most of the work and not give you such a headache from it.'' she was relaxed and feeling good now, more energetic actually though the more she felt his tiredness the more she wanted to sleep, which was alright. " come on, finish feeding, then i will get rid of him, and put things up and come join you , hows that sound?"

Raizen watched her with some curiosity, smiling in a thoughtful way. The electricity between them as she explored his chest and nuzzled him, however, was enough to make him almost groan. He clamped hisjaw to suppress it. Her scent was killing him, but she still hadn't said she would finish the ritual, despite what he sensed in her body language. And so he was trying to be gentlemanly, something that normally wasn't a problem for him, but the heat in the room and his need to complete thier ceremony were knawing at him.
"...I changed Darious. At the time he seemed wirth the effort. He was a powerful soldier in the Finnish army when Reezia and I came upon him. He'd won medals and recognition, and back then, when it was just the two of us, he was a much needed ally. Sadly, my naiivety still haunts me, and I curse every drop of venom I put into him."
He looked down at her then, watching her with again, more tempted curiosity. "But you are the first I changed because I wanted to. Darious I only changed because he was a necessity. For you, I actually wanted to take the risk, because I had a feeling that you are someone special. Turns out, you are, according to the Powers That Be," he said, holding up his marked palm, then took her hand in his own and held it over his left breast. "and according to this."

As he sat there, his forehead leaned against the pads of his fingers as he worked, he had been listening to the quiet struggle between her and the feeble hunter still trying to fight for his life--thought of something.
He let her finish, still in silence, and then when she came over and gave her much needed attentions--even vampires were suceptible to stress fatigue--he closed his eyes and leaned back against her, emitting a soft sigh of content.
"...Here's a thought, Rose," he said, addressing his idea. "Angelica's more than likely added to her coven. Perhaps we should too."
He leaned his head up to look at her, then indicated the dying hunter with his eyes. "Even after all that, the man's still not only concious but resisting us. That's an admirable trait, don't you think?"

she smiled as he talked about changing Darious, all the while she was sure she was teasing the hell out of him with her little touches, she even felt his jaw clench once or twice.. '' teased, looking up at him as he spoke of her being someone special, which just made her blush madly as she watched him place her hand on his chest, she could just detect the beating of his heart.

lightly rubbing his chest she chewed on her lower lip a little before turning her palm over to stare at the mark.. '' suppose your right... i still don't see myself as anything special though.. '' she looked up at him now, giving a small smile as she nudged his hand before placing her palm against his and slid her fingers between his, pressing the marks together as she nuzzled his neck again , giving a gentle nip, his words had definitely made her feel better, she figured if he kept that up he would make her fall in love with him. . She couldn't help herself as she nipped his jaw a little before giving him a light kiss,, leaning up to look down on him a little more as her free hand lightly tugged on a strand of his hair. '' keep it up and i may just like you more then i do now.. "

releasing her hand from his she slid her hand over his chest again , lightly tugging his shirt, tired of trying to hold her hormones back, she was going to embrace this thing the fates or powers that be as he called them, put upon her without a fight, that and she didn't want to practically neuter the guy,, leaning down she lightly nipped his chest now, rubbing against him a little more as she slid her hand under his shirt to slid her fingers over his bare skin.

"As appealing as the idea of a tame Darious sounds," Raizen said. "The man's only got his mind on one thing and that's my job."
He watched her with some intensity as she inspected her mark. "....Well, in time you'll come to learn your value, to the pack, to our kind..." he watched her place their marks together, a little surprised, but extremely grateful. "... and to me."
He closed his eyes, sighing softly when she nuzzled his neck, and smiled when she nipped it. He squeezed their joined hands, quickly catching on to her motives as he leaned up to meet her kiss. Teasingly, he said, "Aww, you don't like me yet?"
Grinning and running his free hand down her arm, he helped her unbutton his shirt, and then shrugged it off and slung it over the back of the sofa.
He was a dangerous animal, but in the hands of his mate, he was little more than putty.

Chris let loose a sigh of relief as her fingers worked over his scalp, and smiled as she kissed his temple. "We're two mature and experienced vamps. we could more than handle him."
He reached a hand up to stroke her cheek. "You do realize though if we don't drain him, and let the venom take effect, we won't have as much privacy."

He was honestly surprised the hunter wasn't writhing already. He definitely had resilience. Likely something he'd been trained in; to resist the venom long enough to get to a healer who could try and extract it. He'd met someone like that once, another hunter, who had fought off the transformation for five days. He'd still absorbed enough of the venom, however, to have heightened senses and stealth, not to mention stamina, sex appeal, and a discomfort with sunlight.

" blinked a little as his hand touched her cheek, instinctively she leaned against his hand a little, flushing a little before leaning down and kissed him softly , " that is all you will really need to do hun" giving his lip a gentle nip she quickly got off of him, headed to the kitchen and got her much needed glass of chocolate wine that she loved. ,

coming back to the entrance of the kitchen she leaned her hip against the low counter and nursed her drink, eyes half closed as she studied him, content to let him sit there and stew a little in his need since she was doing the same, she wanted things to go right with him, didn't know why but she got the feeling he was a great catch and she was damned lucky to have him in her living room.

Downing the last bit of her drink she set the glass down before walking past him, running her fingers up his body lightly as she did so before taking his hand and gave a gentle tug. " come on...might break my poor old couch if we do anything on it. " smiled, leaning down and lightly kissed him again trying not to be nervous as she slid her marked palm against his own and entwined her fingers with his. " i want this to be... right .. perfect.. and proper.. best way to do that is in a perfectly good bed." which thank god is brand new and hasn't even been broken in yet.. so glad i tossed that old one out. she was actually glad to have a new bed, it had no memories attached to it of her old ex. considering half the time she was never home. and her old bed just got too annoying.

the hunter glared at the two, not sure if he was damn lucky or just damn unlucky for this unfortunate event, he was already feeling their venom coursing through his vein's, he had fought it off as much as he could but doubled with him being drained to near death and tired as hell, he couldn't fight it any more , he swore he was going to get revenge on the women who managed to jump him, only because he was stupid enough to follow her. ((haven't figured a name out yet. ))

He had to bite his tongue to keep from whimpering like a dog when she left him the way she did, aroused and needy. it was almost cruel. But he figured it was payback for what he'd done to her on the ship. Besides, he had a nose, after all, and knew exactly what state she was in, and how torturous it must be for her as well.
He hissed softly when she returned to him, and was glad to get up off of the cramped couch. Listening to her words, he smiled and nodded. "Aye, it should be proper."

She was a gypsy girl, but she was no slouch. Less than a fortnight ago, her handsome lover had been killed by the local vampire coven, the She-Devil's coven, and she still grieved over it. But she wanted revenge.
Looking down at the cave from the ridge above, she knew the vampires had retreated into the shadows for the day, the hunter in tow. That suited her fine. Gave her a chance to set up her charms and cast a few prayer-spells to her god and goddess before doing the unthinkable: asking these newcomers into the area to transform her into one of thier own. If that was done, then she would have the strength to stand up to the She-Devil that had plagued her ancestors for three hundred years.
She burned a collection of herbs in a petree dish, and then scattered the ashes about her in a circle, between which she placed five items at the five pivotal points. She cast a flame into the dish, and threw an herbal dust into it. The flames turned blue, and the pentacle burned into the ground within the circle. as it completed and the flames reduced to a glow, she knelt upon it and clasped her hands together. They were wrapped in prayer beads, and within them she held her Oracle. She uttered a soft chant in Celtic and then cast the bones she held.
"Five and ten times do I cast Thee, and ten times Five Thou returns with Thine same Decree." she uttered to the bones.
It was true; fifty times had she cast them, and fifty times had they come to the same conclusion. That she had a chance to avenge her lost love, but only if she met the foe on equal ground. meaning she would have to be a vampire in order to succeed.
But, she always noted with sadness, that meant she would never get to play in the sun, and offer praise to her god in its gleaming rays. She wouldn't be able to dance in the Samhain twilight until the sun set. So she was still uncertain. However, thinking of how her love had been so stolen from her made resolve strengthen anew.
"Alas, one must Sacrifice to Gain. That is the way of the world."

she smiled and tugged him into her bedroom, which was not that large for her meager apartment, but it did have a king size bed in there, the newest and softest one she could find , nudging the door open she turned and took each of his hands in her own, and backed up , pulling him inside with her as she lightly kissed him. " she was taking it slow for now, feeling the side of the bed hit the back of her knees she sat down immediately , though wasn't too low to him so she could still reach his chest and shoulders. moving her hands from his , she slid them to his rest and tugged his shirt off, tossing it on the floor, keeping her eyes on him as she slid her hands over his stomach, enjoying the bit of defined muscle's there before going over his chest then back down to his pants to undo them.

she smiled, comforted by his words as she watched him lay down , taking one last glance to the hunter, who she now realized was finally passed out, she settled down next to him and closed her eyes, slowly relaxing. it didn't take long for her to be asleep. completely comfortable with Chris in her arms.

The hunter had finally given in to the venom and passed out, thankfully during the entire time he was out, he passed all the painful parts of being changed. he knew when he woke, he will be forever changed.

He shrugged his shirt off when she tugged at it, and it was then he leaned down, putting his palms flat on the edge of the bed, and gave her a deep kiss before nipping and licking her lower lip. Then he trailed kisses from her lips again, up to the tip of her nose and then across her beautiful cheek before kissing her temple, nipping her ear gently and then whispering into it, "I can smell your heat, she-wolf. How about you save yourself the torment, and play later?"

As the last edge of the solar disc finally disappeared beneath the Romanian mountains, Katrina bade farewell to it for what she hoped, and feared, would be the final time.
She waited, rubbing one of her talismans, in the shape of the pentacle in the circle, until she finally saw the male exit his cavern to stretch. Oh he was a beautiful one, with his long, silky black hair. But she found herself smiling to know that he had a mate. A male of such splendor deserved to have one.
It was then she approached, with extreme caution. After all, these powerful predators could just as easily kill and feed upon her as convert her into one of them. She wondered what had become of the hunter, though she had a feeling his corpse lie inside, ready for disposal in the safety of the moonlight. A pity, but such was the risk one took when hunting vampires, or just generally dealing with them.
"...Blessed be Thee in the Lady's Light this evening," she whispered to him, nervous. She did not make an effort to make herself seen. She knew he already saw her, plain as daylight--for lack of better comparisons.
Chris had scented her, and was already on high alert. But when she spoke, he peered into the shadows, his red violet eyes literally gleaming as they did.
"Who are you, my dear?" he asked, softly, in a gentle but threatening voice. One that many times had wooed his clients.
"One who would speak with you, the dominant male of your coven."
