But Raizen... older... faster.... more cunning... and seven times mroe lethal..... He never let that blow hit. He lashed out, almost casually, and grabbed Jim's fist in mid air, before tightening his grip on it. His muscular arm flexed, and his lip curled up again. His eyes gleamed gold now--a sign of the wolf within--and he tightened his crushing grip on the human's fist, and kept tightening it. The nails of his hand grew out into wolven claws, and in the eerie light of the apartment's lamps, the alpha looked very dark and sinister, and extremely predatory.
"Since she's met me she's been made to believe more things thant a superficial bastard like you could even comprehend."
He tightened his crushing fist, grinning wolfishly as he heard the joints popping. His knuckles were white, and he still tightened his grip.
When Jim struggled, Raizen reversed his hold on the man, and spun Jim around as he twisted his arm backwards, and snarled when he heard several resonating cracks from within the limb--and the hand he'd been crushing. He forced Jim to his knees and delivered a sharp kick to his shoulder, completely dislocating the limb and leaving it as little more than a maimed noodle.
"You don't deserve a woman like Tessa. She doesn't belong to you anymore."
Raizen released Jim's arm, then backed off, his gleaming eyes, still amber in the light, on Tessa. "I beleive you were discussing something with this whelp?"

Still stunned from the first hit from Jim she watched as Raizen caught his fist, effectively stopping the second blow which probably would have had her on her ass , maybe..reaching up to touch her lip where it had busted at the corner her fingers came away with a bright coating of blood on them. licking her lower lip she looked up at the first sound of Jim's pain as his hand was crushed. She heard Raizen's words, and even saw the look of complete horror and shock go across Jim's face, probably from seeing the wolf like appearance on Raizen.

She continued to watch the two even as his arm was broken in several places and then dislocated his shoulder, all those sounds didn't even bother her oddly enough. She looked up at Raizen as he turned to her and asked her something, she was dazed, shocked really, '' huh?... '' blinking a few times she looked down at the pained look on Jim's face, her mood going dark immediately , she moved quick, kicking her leg out fast and hard to hit right between his legs, '' bastard... '' muttered, ignoring the sound's of jim's agony and the fact that he threw up all over himself from being kicked in the jewels. she hoped the damn thing was broken. reaching down she grabbed him by his hair and shoved him right out the door before slamming it behind him and locking it.

Closing her eyes and shivering slightly she couldn't believe what just happened, going on auto pilot really she passed Raizen now as she picked up the spilled beer bottle, tossing it away before cleaning the mess up. she barely heard any sound from jim though oddly enough it sounded a bit like he was saying she would pay for what just happened.. Granted her body still ached but she was stunned enough to ignore it, last t hing she did was pull the steaks off the grill to keep them from being burned before leaning against the wall and sliding down, pulling Raizen's jacket around her tighter as she pulled her knee's up,. taking slow deep breaths to try and relax.

Now that things were calming down, and the adrenaline was slowly pumping out of his system it was being replaced by testosterone as he allowed himself to smell her potent heat scent. He groaned softly in desire, but kept his cool. He needed to approach this subject delicately if he planned on being potent for much longer. So he started with a more neutral topic.
“Tessa.” he said, then tossed her reporter tags across the room to her. “I figured you’d want those back. Going to be hard to get into a crime scene without them.”
His deep, husky voice was gentle, and it was clear that he was attempting to be comforting. “Sorry about your boyfriend; but anyone who cheats on you should be justly punished. Painfully.”
He lifted his eyes, now back to their odd but pretty lavender color, to the locked door. “I think you’ve just rid him of all chances of any sex for the rest of his life. I heard flesh ripping when you kicked him. Hope I never piss you off.”
“What sort of a lame name is ‘Jim’ anyway?”
He watched her with his hunter’s gaze as she moved around in silence, and his heart broke. No woman should be reduced to that. Yeah, he’d practically raped her on the barge—but at least he’d gone to some efforts to make it pleasant for her.
The sexy alpha rose from where he’d been sitting in the la-z-boy, made his way to the stereo, and turned on a rather slow and erotic song. Then went over to her and offered her his strong hand, pulling her up to her feet again. He placed his other hand on her waist, and led her around the emptier floor space in the living room, his eyes locked on hers, his look serious yet stoic at the same time as their hips rubbed together suggestively.
As he danced with her around the room, he felt a tingle in his palm—and realized that their marks were touching. That was a relief of small comfort.

She barely registered her name being said and when she caught her tags, she just tossed them onto the table before she had sat down..and when he spoke of her ruining any chance's of jim fornicating in the future she gave a snort'' good, bastard deserves it. '', she had to swallow a few times, being pissed and upset was not a good combination and the fact she had to resist crying just made her even more pissed. hearing him mock jim's name she gave a slight laugh. '' not everyone can have an exotic name as yours Raizen.. ''

She was trying to ignore him, to lock herself up in her own little world in her mind and just wallow in her misery but he was making it bloody hard, she could smell him and hear him move about the room, and every time he apologized about something it just made it harder to ignore him. she heard him get up from the recliner he had occupied earlier, she didn't look at him, atleast not until he turned the stereo on and the music reached her ears, then her gaze went to him, curious as to what he was doing though still half wishing he would go away.

she had only glanced at his hand when he offered it before she placed her own in his and allowed him to pull her up, placing her hand on his shoulder she moved with him, not taking long for her to relax as she watched him, never once had jim danced with her like this, she actually liked it. His scent was getting to her though as it filled her lungs, taking in another deep breath she let it out slowly again, the suggestiveness of his hips rubbing on hers had her nearly blushing as her gaze jumped away from his in embarrassment.That and she felt the tingling in her own hand where the mark was, curious as to what it meant she didn't get a chance to ask when he spun her out then brought her back into him again , her back against his chest..

"He was...less than thrilled." he said, never breaking form as he led her backward a few steps, twirling her out again, around behind him as he spun too. "Came beating on my door in the morning. Had to deck him a good one to shut him up."
He locked eyes with her again, then performed a skilled lift that kept her airborn for almost six seconds, always secure in his grasp.
He gently set her down upon her feet again, then twirled her around into him once more, this time her torso against his, and he gave her a slow, deep kiss full of intensity. As he did, he dipped her, just as the song ended.
He locked gazes with her for a long moment, then pulled her back up with the same slowness and grace, then held her.
"I suppose... you want some time alone?"

good lord he is a really good dancer. she couldn't keep that out of her head with how he moved and twirled her about, and that lift, man she thought he was going to drop her but his strength kept her steady.She was a bit speechless as he moved them about and once her feet where on the ground again and he pulled her into him once more she didn't know what to think, Looking up at him she knew the kiss was comiong the moment he lowered his head to hers, she practically anticipated it with the way her heart suddenly jumped, feeling like it was in her throat as his lips touched hers.

She didn't want to leave his embrace but forced herself too as she stepped away from him.. '' thank you... for returning my tags. and helping with jim.. i really wasn't sure what to think with him after i got a wiff of that... skank. '' muttered, flushing brightly now at that word. she rarely called anyone that but she was a bit unhappy.. Going to the kitchen she pulled out several drinks, her favorite was the chocowine. she loved that stuff, especially when she needed to relax and calm down and think.'' i will give darious his money back if he wants it.. and his id... just didn't feel like having him come after me for revenge. '' muttered, going to open the wine bottle before catching a glance at the mark on her palm again .. remembering how it tingled when it touched his hand.. '' that reminds me.. what the hell is this on my palm? some sort of were tattoo?" she asked as she leaned against the kitchen doorway and showed him her hand.. '' i really don't do tats.''

"No, I must admit I left them in Europe to come here after you." he confessed. "I left my sister in charge. If anyone can keep idiot Darious in line, it's her." he chuckled.
He sniffed the steaks, and grinned. "Someone likes a little blood in thier meat. I like that."
He sat on the sofa then, legs crossed. At least until she brought up the marks. He sighed--he'd have to be very tactful.
"Well, yes and no." he proceeded to explain. he got up once again, and followed her to the kitchen. He gently took her marked hand into his and inspected it. "This... is a sign you and I are supposed to be together. As you see--I wear an identical pattern on my opposite hand."
He lifted the palm of his rights hand to show her.
"Apparently, you and I were meant for each other from the beginning."
He stroked her palm, tracing the patterns of the design with his cool fingertips. "These of course are what was tingling earlier. See, when we touch them together--" He did. "--They spark and mingle. They're a wonderful thing, but, they, like all wonderful things, come with a catch." He let go of her hand than, and sat on the edge of the island, giving her room. "Tessa, what do you know of the Fates?"

she gave a smile at his comment on the steaks. '' hey , i have always eaten them like that.. '' she heard him follow her into the kitchen afterwards when she had mentioned the markings.. " oh? .. '' tilting her head slightly to the side she watched him curiously as he took her hand and explained what it was. '' really?.. '' looking to his hand and sure enough he had the same exact markings, when he pressed them together her eyes widened at the tingling feeling again and the fact it was making her squirm all over again, leaning back against the counter she set the bottle down before turning to face him again.

'' like a destined match so to speak?" it was a bit confusing but she was easily catching onto it, watching him sit on the island in her kitchen she reached back and pulled herself onto the cleared counter in a sitting position, letting her gaze look over his lean body slowly before giving a slight frown at his question.. '' a catch.. always a catch.. .. the fates?.. ermm. only what i know from the hercules stories eh.. three sisters who share gifts and love to cause problems and play cruel ironic jokes on others.. sound about right?"

He nodded gently. "Yes, like a destined match. And... very perceptive on your part. Yes, the fates are exaclty like that. They make these markings appear on the corresponding palms of such a couple after they've had sex. Then, they have one week to complete the ceremony and become mated for the rest if thier days, and beyond."
He was treading on thin ice here--one wrong move and she would refuse him altogether and he'd lose everything, his pack, his pride, and any significance his words may have ever again. He'd become a mockery of werewolf kind, and he couldn't live with that. He took her marked hand into his again, and massaged it, procrastinating and bucking up the courage to explain the next part.
"While it's all fine and dandy, the catch comes in the form of this:
"If the destined couple does not complete the ritual, while the female is free to try for another mate, the male.... well, if his lady doesn't accept him and allow him to lay with her again before the week's up--he ends up spending the rest of his days..." he gritted his teeth-- "He ends up in a state in which he's basically neutered. For the rest of his life. He can never lay with a female again."
He braced himself, waiting for her response.

she frowned slightly , her mind easily going and taking in on the information he was giving her.. '' like a supernatural marriage of sorts? .. also sounds like there is no divorce in it whatsoever.. '' She watched him take her palm again and rub the mark, oddly enough it had a comforting effect, so she relaxed on the counter,, at least up until she could feel his nervousness.

It was weird, she never would have put it past him to be nervous, then heard him speak again '' joy the catch.. nearly forgot about that.'' she gave a slight smile before listening to him as he explained what would happen to him if she didn't accept him and complete it.. '' whoa now.. wait just a minute, '' pulling her hand back she poked his chest'' your telling me that i can have you neutered? like a dog? in some weird supernatural sort of way that the stupid fates thought up of?" boy did they really love sticking it to someone don't they. '' oi it sounds like the fates are the vets and we are the animals.. err you ..men.. of your kind.. oi. ''

she was already thinking it over, grasping the concept of her having the power of making it to where he couldn't bed another woman, though he was lucky, his wouldn't be as painful as she had done to Jim. '' simply put.. got a week to accept this union , or.. have you become .... well.. unable to get it up ever again.. '' she frowned for a second as a thought came to her. '' wait.... is that a week the moment the mark comes up? .. '' doing a quick count and the fact that her mark had been there for about four days she grimaced'' oi that leaves you about three days of being potent... '' Now she was feeling the pressure.. glancing from him to around her place then back to him again.. Chewing on her lower lip she looked up to him, reaching for his hand and lightly tracing the smooth pattern of the mark on his palm.. .. knowing he would be getting more nervous the longer she stayed quiet.... stealing a glance up at his face again she gave a slight smile..'' .. why don't we... get something to eat.. and drink... then you can tell me how exactly to uhh.... i uhh can fix this?" she head a sneaky suspicion it had something to do with getting naked and doing the romp with him again. with that thought though she figured she wouldn't mind, he had been good the first time, and he was certainly bigger and better then stupid dumb ass Jim.

He nearly panicked suring her long pause as she traced the elegant design on his palm.
Oh fuck, she's going to say no...! he thought as he saw her preparing to speak again. He listened on edge, and then was dumbstruck when she didn't refuse.
"...Alright. That... sounds like a good idea. I did just fly how many hours to get here from Romania. I'm starved."

Tessa could tell she had made him nervous a bit but the moment she saw the relief on his face made her relax."husband huh... does that mean i get to order you around?" grinned at him as she slid off the counter and pulled down two plates. one for her and one for him.
" would say its not my fault u chased me down here.. buuut it kinda is.." she chewed on her lower lip a little bit. a habit for her when she was having some serious thoughts about something as she placed a large steak on a plate for him with her homemad mashed tatters and fresh veggies. handing it to him she pointed to the fridge. " what do u want to drink? i have beer ,wine, tea, milk and water" she was distracting herself a little. wondering what it would be like to live with him would she have to move out of her apartment?

He chuckled, still on edge but definately more relieved now. "...Tea sounds great, thank you. Raspberry if you have it."
He dug into the steak without question, sucking the half raw juices from it and rolling them around on his tongue before swallowing.
"And you can order me around all you'd like, for cure, but that doesn't mean I'll necessarily listen." he teased.

she stared at him for a moment, not because of his obvious bad table manners as he sucked on that steak, but because he actually asked for tea....she had pegged him for a beer kinda guy. that and he apparantly had the same taste as hers. she loved raspberry tea and peach tea.

shaking her head she pulled two glasses down and filled them up with the tea before handing him one as well as a napkin. " did no one teach you eating manners?" teased,sitting down next to him as she began to eat. "hmmm you not listening to them is fixable you know." she slid a look over at him from under he lashes before speaking again. " tell me more about yourself.. what else do you like and enjoy?."

"Hey now, I had my mouth closed as I sucked on that piece. How is that bad etiquette?" he said, though he accepted the offered napkin. He took a few swigs of his tea--it was quite delicious--before continuing.
"Well, something that interests me is really a combination of interests. I like to ride through the wilderness and hunt game via archery. I own a small piece of land in Ireland. I have two prized stallions, the elder I rode to great prestige in his prime, and the younger, his second nephew, who is still young and still training for the more complicated parts of the sport.
"Also, I enjoy chess, The Legend of Zelda, and meditating in the wilderness."

she had just finished off the last bite of her steak as he finished talking. hearing him say something about zelda nearly had her choking with laughter. after taking a large gulp of her tea she grinned then poked his side. "i am not letting you near my game system if you turn out to be one of those gamer dudes who do nothing but play zelda.. " she was teasing of course since she had a zelda game or two that she enjoyed from time to time.

she was highly interested in the land he had in ireland though. bitting her lower lip again she leanes forward and studied the floor a little bit before asking.. " um.... after all this settles down... would i be able to see your land in ireland?"

He laughed, squirming when she poked him. "Rest assured I have my own system. And I only play once or twice a week, when I have time."

"And... sure. Of course you may come. Ireland is a wonderful country that serves its inhabitants well. After all, if you decide to accept me, you will be pack."

she gave a soft groan of protest at hearing that she would be part of the pack. not that she wouldnt like it. just meant more fights with darious. " damn does that mean i have to play nice with darious?" she eyed him a little before going quiet. she had finished eating and he was nearly done. growing nervous all over again she got up. taking her dishes with her before putting them in the sink and washed them. once that was done she put the leftover food up as well. she was trying to relax but as the minutes ticked by she grew more nervous. Not even the soft sound of the radio still going couldnt soothe her nerves.

when she was done with everything she leaned her hip on the counter and watched raizen from under half closed eyes. she knew he would want to finish the joining right away. which she agreed to do for his sake. thing was she had no idea what it was going to be like. would there be pain or none at all?. damn she hated being nervous. maybe a bath would come her down" ummm i am going to go take a bath. help yourself to whatever you want" not giving a chance to hear his reply , she walked down the small hall to the bathroom and nudged the door closed. though it didnt shut completely as she stripped, started the bath, adding some lavender bubble bath to it, before climbing in and sat down. her back to the door as she closed her eyes and just breathed.

She took a few minutes relaxing before opening her eyes again and reached up and pinned her hair up, once that was done she picked up the poof and began to scrub her body slowly , her mind thinking the whole entire time. she wondered why the hell Jim would cheat on her anyways, she wasn't ugly.. or was she? great now i am second guessing my looks. bloody bastard.. glad Raizen beat the shit out of him. sighed and closed her eyes again as she dropped the poof in the sudsy water.. Her mind once again on Raizen, whats to keep him from cheating on me? ... or can he? .. gah, wish i had asked more questions about this whole mark thing and mates.. She understood some of it but , as she looked down at the palm of her hand and gently stroked the lines of the mark she began to wonder what exactly would happen afterwards. Raizen was handsome beyond belief, why the hell would he even stay with ordinary boring me?.. i am a bloody reporter for crying out loud.. not very interesting.. and i cause trouble. She really needed to stop second guessing herself, but she couldn't help it. ugh, nothing good ever happens to me, this seems too damn good to be true.. She turned slightly to glance at the door, easily hearing Raizen in the living room, She knew it was real, his damn bite felt too damn real to be a dream.. turning back around she scowled, Blaming the whole mess all on Jim. Shaking her head she leaned back again , resting her arms on the side of the tub and closed her eyes. Finally zoning out , no longer paying attention to anything as she made herself try and relax and not think, about anything negative.

He chuckled. "Not in the least. I never 'play nice' with him. Thae bastard's after my authority; have to keep showing him who's in charge."

When she left, Raizen realized that he hadn't yet explained to her how the ritual was completed.
Yes, he was eager to finish it, but he also didn't want to scare her off again. So he resigned himself to waiting patiently on the sofa, looking around at the memorobilia of a life she'd built with her ex, and that was now lost. He growled to himself. How could anyone ever cheat on Tessa? Yes, he hadn't known her very long, and he suspected it was the mark and the mating ritual that had him so riled up and protective of her. But damn, idiot human males. Granted, he'd once been one abot two hundred years ago, but he'd learned.
He looked off down the hallway where she had vanished, and sighed. "Oh well; his loss."

Tessa sighed when she finally jerked out of her zoning, the water had gone cold. sighing she rinsed off ,, washed her hair real fast before rinsing that out and getting out, grabbing one of the thick towels she had hanging on the rack and wrapped it around her body, she glanced at the sink where some of Jim's things where at.. he really didn't live there , but he did have his toiletries in her bathroom for when he did spend the night, scowling she gathered every bit of it and tossed it into the trash, claiming her sink back for herself. .

After she dried off and yanked on a pair of short shorts, she picked out a tank top and after finding a bra that she liked , she pulled both of them on before finger combing her hair again. Stepping out of the bathroom and headed for the living room she spotted Raizen right where she had left him. just barely catching his words.. '' whose loss? .. and as for Darious.. i don't think he would be much of a good leader .. ''

Raizen looked up, and smiled. "....Your ex's. Your ex's loss."
He shifted his position as a sassy gothic theme came across the radio, an instrumental piece. "Your DJ has an interesting if not diverse taste. Late nighting with him must be a wonder."
He let his eyes trail across her form in her skin-showing attire, and resisted the urge to lick his lips. "You look very fine in that."

she flushed a little at his words and glanced at the radio.."its one of my favorite stations actually.."she felt her face heat up even more when she glanced back at him and watched him look her over. " heh u should see my jammies.. err well lack there of anyways. ." her bed attire only consisted of a long shirt and underwear. that was it and she liked it that way. " i dont wanna think bout that idiot at the moment" grumbled slightly. walking to the kitchen now as she once again tried to ignore the demands of her body. but everytime she got close to raizen it was like it flipped an one switch to her and she started ache all over again.

He shifted his position on the sofa, and spoke once more. "Is there anything you would like to talk about, or ask me? We have all night, it seems."

Chris looked out onto the night, and sighed. "Dawn's getting closer. Where the hell is she?" He was torn at the moment. Should he go out and look for his mate, or stay here and wait for her. If he left, she may go out looking for him, and they could both be burned by the encroaching sunlight.
Normally, he could scent her easily from a mile away, but the odd thing was, right now he smelled nothing.
"Rose?" he called out into the wilderness, praying she was nearby.

Tessa frowned, taking that as a challenge to test his knowledge to anything she relaxed and sat down in the chair in front of him, leaning forward to stare at him a little. '' hah, and to get your attention would be easy, just walk around naked. '' teased, before putting to the mark'' alright. i am going to take you up on that.. explain this , how exactly does it work other then the whole, supernatural binding thing. Rose sighed, she was lost once again in the stupid place, she really didn't understand half the things on the map. And it was getting a little too close to dawn.. Hearing a groan she frowned and glanced down at the male she had currently wrapped up tighter then a mummies ass with his own ropes and chains.. A hunter who had managed to find her and tried to get a drop on her, learned fast that she was no ordinary vampire.. giving a swift kick to his gut she wrinkled her nose'' shut up or i will bite you .. She eyed the man again , he had little pouches attached to him all over his arm's, waist, and thighs, Ones that used to house weapons but she easily relieved him of any of them he had. .

'' now then.. i know where i left him... problem is i have to find it again. '' grumbled, she was on the outskirts of town but she was not looking to enter it, she left him in a cave , again , only problem is, the wilderness looked the same to her...
