Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
The small village was busy, as the Romanian villagers went about their daily business. Children played in the streets, while their mothers watched them, while chatting amongst each other. The men were out keeping busy, either doing the jobs they were supposed to do, or taking a break at the local inn. The women also had jobs, while their children were at school. It seemed like an ordinary village, but the one thing muggles wouldn’t notice, were the fact that there was another world right at their feet, witches and wizards also lived among them. Many were friends with the muggles. But possibly the thing that would be most surprising to the muggles, would be the fact that a colony of dragons lived a few hundred miles away, and that the dragons were studied and cared for.
In one of the wizard taverns, which would seem like an empty, abandoned building to the muggles, a young woman with dark hair and dark clothing sat, drinking butterbeer as she waited for the man she was supposed to meet. Her dark hair was tied back behind her, in a rather careless sort of way. She was a traveler, always spending a couple of months in one place, before moving on to another, and everywhere she went, she found a job through an employment agency. They saw her as their best client, and knew what she would like to do during her stay in those various places. She liked adventure; she didn’t want a boring desk job. When they told her that there was a man who worked with the dragons, but never asked for extra help, she jumped at the chance, and they put her on the job. Now she was just waiting for him, he had been told to meet her, and that he had no choice but to accept that she’s going to intern for him.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Charles Weasley was far from pleased. A letter had come to him via owl two days before.
"What the bloody hell is this?" he'd asked himself when he'd read it. "An intern? Lot of bloody help she'd be; get her face burned off in ten minutes, fifteen tops."
The owl had simply clicked his beak.
Sighing, the Weasley lad recalled what his mother would say. "....Give her the chance. Nobody becomes good at what they do without starting somewhere."
So, he had written out a date, time, and place to meet her, sent it back with the owl, and now, on the date in question, with the established time a few minutes away, Charlie was dressed and ready to go. He'd debated wearing a proper suit, but he had settled on just his comforatble, worn, even singed a little with a few tears here and there. Maybe he could scare her out of the job on her own.
He sighed, looked back at his shanty shack, reminiscent of Rubeus Hagrid's on the Hogwarts grounds, but shantier. He was a simple man, then with a wave of his wand, he Apparated, and reappeared with a CRACK! in the alley behind the inn.
He took a moment to regather his wits, then with a long stride, made his way to the front of the inn, and entered, his wang safely stashed up his sleeve. His eyes scanned the room, looking for the unfortunate Miss who dared to dream of dragons.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Leaning back in her seat, she sighed a little, hoping this man wasn't one of those guys who were late, or who stood women up. This wasn't a date, she knew, but she was still anxious. Her gaze shifted to the door when he entered, searching for her, she had to guess that was him. She really was the only one waiting for her. Lifting her hand, she waved a little at him, with a smile.
She really hoped he wouldn't put up a fight, seeing how the agency didn't give him a choice. But of course she can handle a challenge, she was a traveler, never in the same place twice. This girl could handle herself and she could deal with anything.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Charlie was curteous and waved back, but it was half hearted. He strode over to her table and extended his hand. "Welcome to Romania. Charles Weasley, Dragonologist. Pleasure to meet you.... erm?"
He was aware of other eyes turning to them as he mentioned his name. Even across different tongues, wizard kind knew that his family was associated with the legendary Boy Who Lived. It made him uncomfortable--he didn't like too much attention. He was used to being but one son within a massive family, with time for each child being limited.
But, certainly, he was proud, and honored, to know Harry.

Tabitha was a bit relieved when he waved back and came over to her table. She took his offered hand and shook it. "Tabitha Phendrias," she replied with a smile. "Pleased to meet you." her body was relaxed, though she was anxious that he would send her on her way, but she was determined that she would prove herself.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
But Charlie did nothing of the sort. Instead, he sat down, and got right to the point.
"So, how much dragon experience have you had, Ms. Phendrias? And how good is your Agualmente charm?"
He flicked his eyes over her. She was a pretty thing, he had to admit, but she looked far too frail for such an arduous occupation.

Tabitha shrugged as she leaned back in her seat. "I don't have any," she replied, as if that didn't bother her. "My Aqualmente charm is good." Studying him, she knew his reaction to her not being around dragons wasn't going to be a good one. Of course, though, if he thought she couldn't handle herself, he had another thing coming.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Charlie blanched. But he kept his voice stable as he said, "Miss, these are creatures that are highly protective of themselves, their young, and everything they see, basically. Foolishness and naivety get you either roasted or killed. Words cannot describe their ferocity.
"Trust me, I've lived around them for years. And every two or three of those years the agency keeps sending young hotbloods along who think they know what they're in for and that they know how to handle themselves and learn very quickly how unprepared they are."
He sighed, ordered a firewhiskey, and tapped his fingers on the table.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Tabitha shook her head, and smiled at him. "I'm not one of those people. I live for the thrill, the danger, and I know dragons are nothing like a pet that is easy to care for. I've had several dangerous jobs, unpredictable, I'm not sitting her not knowing what I'm doing or up against. Besides, everyone has to start somewhere, you probably were green when you got into the dragon business."

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Charlie had to bite the inside of his cheek. He had to admit, she had him there. He sighed, then said finally, "Alright, you've got me. but the only reason I'm taking you on is because I have no choice. I want you to know this."
As the waiter dropped his mug in front of him, Charlie took a deep gulp. He hated having to be responsible for these hotbloods' lives, but hey, if she was going to be stubborn enough to try, then by all means he was going to put her to work. Perhaps shoveling dung until he found some other way to put her to use.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Tabitha smiled happily and leaned back. "oh thank you," she didn't care what he had her do, as long as she was doing something. She was aware she would have to start from the beginning. She drank her butterbeer, watching him, she would have to prove herself to him, as he didn't seem to think too highly of her.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Oh he thought she was a good person and all--otherwise he really wouldn't let her near the dragons--but she had no place being around such dangerous creatures at her age.
"You're welcome. It only pays seven galleons an hour to start."

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Tabitha nodded to him. "That's fine," she replied, used to living off low funds. she knew how to use what she had to survive. Her gaze studied him. He probably thought her foolish. She didn't care.

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Charlie sighed--his every attempt at discouraging her had failed. So he shrugged, flagged down the waitress and paid for both drinks.
"Well, let's go and meet the beasties then, shall we? Best way to learn is to do it."

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
"Great," Tabby smiled and jumped out of her seat, having grown bored of all this annoying talk, and him asking her questions and trying to convince her to not to go through with this. "You didn't have to pay for my drink."

Re: Dragon Studies [Private/Mature]
Charlie shrugged. "Called common courtesy, miss. Now, let's go." He led her outside into the alley, then offered his arm as he lifted his wand to Apparate.

Tabitha walked after him, pushing her head behind her. Once outside, she took his offered arm, all this talking had her extremely bored.
