The Dragon's Sacrifice [Private/Mature]

It was raining hard when there was a knock on the carpenter’s door. The carpenter glanced to his daughter, then went to answer the door, thinking it was just another customer who needed his cart fixed. But it wasn’t. The moment he opened the door, two strangers pushed pasted the older man, and went straight to the girl.

“Are you Victoria??” the taller one demanded.

She stared at the men, frightened by their demeanor. “..Yes, I am. Why do you ask?”

“Because you’re coming with us.” Both of the men grabbed and started to pull her from the shop.
She struggled against their grip, afraid of these men and what they wanted. “Let me go!” she protested.

“What are you doing? She’s my daughter, you have no right to take her,” the carpenter growled, moving to one of the men and tried to pull her free, but instead he was just shoved a side, which caused him to fall hard on his back.

“She’s under arrest. She’s been accused of being a witch, and we have every right to take her away,” one of the men growled. Despite her protests, and her kicking and screaming, she was taken to the center of the village, where all of the villagers waited to see what was happening. She was taken to the platform and forced to stand with her hands tied behind her back, two guards holding her tightly.

“This woman was accused of being a witch. Is this false?” The taller man called out to the crowd. “Anyone who sides with the witch will get their throat slashed,” he threatened, his way of assuring that no one denies the accusation. And it worked, the crowd was too afraid to come forward. And everyone in the village knew her since she was born.

Tory stared at the crowd, horrified by the thought of someone claiming she was a witch. Then several of the villagers started shouting out odd things that had happened to their crops or livestock, things they couldn’t explain. Cathryn, the daughter of the Farrier who wanted the carpenter shop to expand his business, she spoke up and with a grin, she explained to the villagers that she’d seen Tory dancing naked in the moonlight of the full moon for the past few months.

Victoria never done such a thing, she wasn’t a witch. She glanced to the side and looked to see her father; he was fighting with the guards, to let her go. She was innocent. He was shoved aside again, but only this time, he didn’t get up. Blood rushed to the ground from a wound in his chest. Tears ran down her cheeks, she fought her captors, trying to get to her father. She felt the sting of a slap, and she sank to the ground, sobbing. “Father,” she whispered. She trembled, just sitting there, and crying. Moments later, she was pulled up and shoved in the back of a cart, one used for hauling livestock. She never heard what they were going to do with her. But once the cart came to the lands of the dragon, she knew what they were going to do. She was going to be dragons bait. A sacrifice. She was tied to a pole, and then left alone as the villagers went back to their warm homes.

Ignoring the hard rain in the mountains, Vallen sat on his usually ledge, he had what was left of a cow in his possession, and was currently crunching several of the bones in his powerful jaws, getting at the juicy marrow in them, when a large ruckus reached his ear's. Lifting his large head up , emerald green eyes searching the area before looking down below.

What looked like an other village mob was dragging a cart into the valley, his valley, trespassing where they where not wanted.. Curling his lip up in a silent growl he got up, tossing the bones aside as he hunched down to watch the scene before him. He should eat them all.. well.. kill them really , humans don't really taste very good to his kind. Being the leader of his clan he glanced around, giving a silent signal for his small group to stay hidden before turning his piercing gaze back to the scene below. what an annoyance. think they would know not to disturb a dragon's den.

With his vision he easily counted how many where in the group as well as noticing a human female they where soo brutally leaving out in the rain , and tied up for that matter. looks like we have another sacrifice. those where not really unusual , the human ones where since they only happened when one was trailed as a witch of sorts.

He watched as one by one, the men and women shouted at the young woman tied to a pole, cursing and spitting and calling all sorts of names before once again, one by one they slowly turned around and headed back out of the entrance of the valley. When the last one left he stood up fully , spread his wings wide and lifted his head to the pouring sky, bellowing out a roar before launching himself in the air. He went in a large circle, lazily drifting downward towards the ground.

As he drifted, the circle motion he was doing became tighter and tighter till he landed not more then a few feet from the woman, shaking his head and stretching his wings out before tucking them against his black hide, he gave a snort as he slowly moved over towards her, wondering how long it would take her to panic, the others where curious but they would not come down unless he allowed them too. She , he figured, was his. and no one else would touch her.

Victoria was afraid, falling into shock, so many bad things happening so fast. Her father was dead. Tears filled her eyes, how could this happen? How could someone be so greedy that they could accuse someone of such a thing? The villagers she gre up with were so easily swayed into turning against her.

Her gaze shot to the large dragon who landed in front of her. Instead of panicking, she just stared at him, more in shock than anything else. Pushing her back against the pole she was tied to, she shut her eyes tightly, feeling so cold, and afraid, but finding no way out of this, so she accepted her doomed fate.

Brave little thing aren't you, He was a little surprised by her reaction, the way she just pressed against the pole and tightly closed her eyes, as if trying to will him away. She had spunk that he could tell, as well as her being upset.Now that he stood before her he lowered his head towards her, inhaled deeply and shot the air back out at her, watching as the force of the air whipped her wet hair around.

Oddly enough she smelled like well the fresh rain mixed with a field full of blooming wild flowers. His green eyes rolled over her body slowly before he reached up with one clawed hand and grabbed the top of the pole, sinking his claws into it it and put part of his weight on it , making it creak and groan in threat of snapping as he bent it backwards. His other hand reached up and with one quick careful swipe of his claws the ropes where sliced away, He would take her with him, but not the whole pole, he had plenty of wood and didn't need any more.

Once the ropes fell away he slid his claws around her waist, careful not to harm her as he lifted her up, Pretty sure he was scaring the life out of her but there was nothing he could do about that as he lept into the air again , spreading his wings wide and flapped down in one hard push to lift his heavy body up more , he kept it up until he reached the ledge that led into his cave.

Rearing up and swinging his back legs forward he grabbed the ledge with his claws and pulled himself completely down now, still holding her in one hand as his other settled on the ground. He turned her and sat her down on the ledge before leaning down and placed his forehead against her back before giving her a light shove to get her to walk into the cave. do not think you can get away, , only way out of here is to fly.. and you little one do not have wings.

Victoria's eyes opened, when she felt him blow air at her, startling her. Her body shivered, afraid. When he bent back the pole, she gasped, and shut her eyes, trembling, thinking he's just going to eat her, and when he cut the rope, it barely registering that the rope no longer held her till he grabbed her, and lifted her up, and took off into the sky with her. Terror gripped her, and she nearly screamed, but managed not to. Her gaze shifted to the cave he took her took, and when he landed and set her down, she stumbled foreward feeling her nudge her, and without a word, she went inside the cave, seeing no choice but to go inside.

Vallen watched her as she silently went inside. He was curious about her, though he had sensed her panic she never once made a sound.Following her into the cave and out of the rain he stretched out before laying down. Crossing his front legs over one another he studied her. watched her movements and how she acted. he stayed quiet for a bit before sending his voice through her mind. which all dragons could do since they where telepathic.*what is your name woman and please do not lie to me*

Victoria turned to him when he followed her inside, but when he laid down, she moved away, and sat with her back pressed against the cave wall, and her legs drawn close to her, arms hugging them. Her gaze watched him carefully, cautiously. Her fear kept her quiet, her grief overwhelmed her, she felt more sad over her fathers death, than fear from being trapped in a cave with a dragon. He startled her when he asked her name. Why did he care? She was just a human he can snap in two. "V-Victoria," she replied in a shaky voice.

*victoria... lovely name my name is Vallen and you are in my home. you will stay here since you have no where else to go.* he watched her still before getting up and moving over to her. Practically cornering her.

lowering his his so his nose bumped her cheek he inhaled deeply again. getting the same smell as before but this time a mix of tears in it. *why are you crying? i am not going to eat you"

She barely paid attention to his name, not really understanding why he was acting nice. Her body stiffened a little as he came closer to her, trapping her, and doing something... Weird, touching her cheek with his dragon nose. And is he... Smelling her? His question startled her. She nearly didn't answer him. "they... Killed my papa," she stated softly, more to herself than to him.

He knew he startled her, she wasn't used to the attention, let alone any from a dragon. Leaning up a little he gave a slight frown at her words, she hadn't seemed to realize she said it out loud. Sighing he stepped back before allowing his body to shift into his smaller form of his human body, he was also able to materialize clothing on his body so as not to give her some sort of shock from seeing him naked.

Once he shifted he stretched and reached up to push his hair out of his face,, '' now i knew you humans where cruel but damn, did they have to be that cruel?" He stood in front of her again as he stuck his hands in his pockets. studying her slowly. his gaze moving up and down her body before going up to her face. '' i am not going to hurt you , you know., contrary to what you people think of us dragons we don't eat humans. you taste bad.. thats why we raid your cattle. ''

Her eyes widened when she saw him change into a human form, she shivered and buried her head into her knees, hugging them tighter. It was a bit frightening that he had a human form, already so much happened. The witch thing, her fathers death, being left out in the rain for a dragon, and the dragon taking her home. Her fragile body was so cold and she really did not want to be a dragons plaything.

geez i am never going to understand females. Sighing he watched her curl up , glancing around he walked away from her for a moment as he dug in the junk he accumulated before finding a blanket , shaking it out since it was a little dusty he walked right back over to her and kneeled down, reaching over to wrap the blanket around her.'' here.. seriously don't really want you catching your death from being cold. ''

she was most likely in shock, and now he would have to make sure she didn't go suicidal.. she did after all just lose her father. Scratching the back of his head he tossed some logs into the grove that he had carved out just for days like this when he felt like being in his human form and laying about. It didn't take long to get the small fire going, least he could do to get her warmed up .. '' your lucky you got me.. most dragons would have just killed you and left you there.. .. mind telling me why they think your a witch? assuming that is why they where sacrificing you of course. ''

Victoria clutched the blanket he wrapped around her, not sure why he was being so kind. She lookEd to him, watching him, a bit unsure and uneasy. It didn't make sense to her, why she was lucky, she didn't know if she'd rather be dead, or trapped with this dragon, and whatever he had planned for her. When he asked about the witch thing. "the farrier and his family wants my fathers carpenter buisness to expand theirs, so his daughter made up that I'm a witch, and got the village to believe it."

Shaking his head he sighed, he was never going to understand the human minds. why they where so greedy and wanted things they cannot have. '' i will never understand why the lot of you turn against one another and for what? a piece of land that you cannot bargain over? .. geez its alot more simpler to be a dragon, only thing we really have to worry about is food and dragon hunters who wish to make a name for themselves. '' .

Looking to her for a moment as he stayed silent, trying to figure out what to do with her.. '' normally ... if we don't kill the sacrificed human, we take them to another village or a valley and let them make their way to a new home. ,.. we are not as evil as you think.. granted we do pillage a few things.. but we have to live just like you lot have to.. . '' he slid a look to her, thinking for a moment then shrugged'' could always get revenge you know..imagine the looks on their face's when you show up riding on a large dragon.''

She was startled by his words, they just let thesacrificed go? But what startled her the most was the mention of vengence. "vengence?" she watched him carefully and pulled the blanket closer. Revenge wouldn't even br considered if they hadn't caused her father to be killed.

He shrugged'' yes vengeance, they turned on you , those you thought where your friends, they just tied you up and left you to be food for dragons. . that and yes they killed your father.. something they probably had no reason to do in the first place, i am sure a sweet girl like you had a good father. ''

he looked over at her again, once again he had managed to startle her. '' its up to you really , scare the hell out of them. that land is yours after all. belonged to your father and by right, is yours. ''

Tears filled her eyes, and her gaze shifted to the ground as she thought about it. She knew them her whole life, and they turned on her so easily. "I want revenge," she stated softly, glancing back to him.

He looked to her and nodded slightly , arching a brow as he reached up and shoved his unruly hair out of his face again .. '' alright, first off,, stop crying.. i can't stand tears. . its good to let them out but for revenge your going to want your anger.. '' reaching over he lightly brushed the tears from her cheeks. '' to keep your anger just hold that sadness in. . ''

He glanced to the entrance of the cave as the rain finally stopped, '' second, we will need to figure out when, right away? or in a few hours.. maybe after they are in a deep sleep? .. they will not expect that.. .. ahh and i will need to know if you can ride... even if you only know how to ride a horse thats fine.. we are the same way, just... its more important not to fall off because of us being in the air... you could die.. ''

She looked up to him when he told her to be angry and brushed away her tears. She'd never really been angry before, nothing ever really to be angry about, till now. Her cheeks blushed a little, and she sat up slowly. "I can ride," she told him, with a huff, and annoyance.

he gave a grin at her annoyance as he moved to get up. giving her a sly look as he looked her over again. " hmmm we shall see. but you have never ridden a dragon. hmmm in more ways than one sweetheart" boy he just loved screwing with others. it was fun.
he gave her wide room to move as he shifted back to his dragon form. stretching slowly before laying down. *try to climb up. lets see how well you can handle me*

She watched him, as he changed back into his dragon form, and told her to climb on. Her body shivered, as she stood up slowly, not entirely sure she trusted him, or liked the idea of flying. But she wasn't one to back out, so she approached him, hesistating. Studying his form, she finally got the courage to climb up on his back.

He waited, staring at her until she moved to climb onto him, he held still, not wanting to suddenly move and end up knocking her off.. waiting for her to settle down on him he relaxed and turned his head to look at her. settled? and i am serious when i say you need to hold on tightly.. your in my care and i would hate for you to fall to your death. he shifted his weight a little, moving his head slightly to nudge her leg, making sure she was on him fairly well. and watch for the wings.. don't want them to knock you off either.. are you ready?

She sat on him, shifting her body to get the right balance, and she held on to him. Frowning at him, she nodded. "I can handle this," she told him with a bit defiance. It was a bit terrifying to be on a dragons back, she was so much higher, and she didn't really like heights.

He couldn't help but give a deep laugh at her defiance, she was a spunky one and he liked it. shifting a little he waited till she relaxed and settled before he went to the ledge and leaped off. , spreading his wings wide as he caught to the air easily. you got a bit of a defiant streak about you don't you ?.. thats a good quality in a dragoness you know. . ahh if only you where a dragon. He glanced back at her, keeping his movements smooth as he soared through the air.

She held on to him, as he took off, a bit frightened by the flight, but when she saw the scenery, she relaxed, it was amazing. Hearing him mention her spunk was a good quality in a dragonness, she was confused why he mentioned that. "but I'm not a dragoness," she stated softly.
