Annora snuggled into her and started to suck on her thumb. She looked up at Adriana. "I sawed man, he was on bed, someone hurted him" Her eyes were big and fearful "you made him better like you make me better?" She twireld a peice of her own hair in her fingers awaiting her reply.

Alec stood and began to pace. "I do" He sighed "From the frist time I laid eyes on her I did, I havent felt like this since...her, I can not though, I can not excpet her to live here, but I can not allow to go home either" He looked at Catriona unsure why he just let all of that out. "How do you do that from the frist time I met you I feel like I can tell you anything, but in your condtion I shouldnt be burdening you please forgive me and let me take you home"

Adriana nodded to Annora. "Yes, he was hurt. I did make him better. He'll be okay," she stated softly, with a smile.

Catriona smiled as she watched him. "You should tell her. If you don't, she won't accept you. I saw her, she looked hurt, afraid. She's stubborn, if she thinks you don't care at all, she probably will try to leave. Wanting to protect her won't convince her to stay, she won't accept protection from anyone. She believes her troubles are her own to bare, and she can handle herself." Shaking her head, she studied him. "You can tell me anything because I'm adorable. I'm fine right here. You aren't burdening me with anything."

"You fix everything" She said softly. "He my dad?" She asked softly. "He called me to room, then said I had a new pony" She sighed "Me like pony" She said "Show you sometime?" She looked like she was deep in thought. "Addyana" she still had troubles prononcing her name "Needs a horsey too, they great, lots of fun" She sighed "Broick says me not ready for big horsy" She poubted a little bit "but addyanna big enough" She said with a serious tone.

Alec looked over at Catriona and sat back down. He chuckled at her comment. "You are adorable" He shook his head. "Maybe Brodick is a better match for her," He held his head in his hands and shook his head. "I have hurt her too much, Iwas just trying to help"

Adriana chuckled. "I can't fix everything. But I'll certainly try," she stated softly. "He is your dad." She brushed hair out of Annora's face. "That's lovely, you have a pony," she smiled. "Sure, you can show me your pony. Oh I need a pony, if you say so." she chuckled and kissed Annora's forehead. "I'm big enough? Are you suuuure?" with a playful smile, she tickled Annora's side.

Catriona watched him. "Do you really think he's better for her?" She rubbed her stomach some more. "She can get past this, if you talk to her, calmly. When you were brought in, she was so scared that you were dead. When you were away, she missed you."

Annora twisted and began to giggle as she was tickled. She giggled while saying "yes" A few passerbyers looked at the scene and smiled. They all wanted the best for litttle Annora.

Alec shrugged. "I do not know, she seems more comfortable with him, and he has come to her defense" He looked up at her. "You knew my sweet Jamie was" He couldnt go on, "I loved her so much, I couldnt put another innocent woman through that"

Adriana smiled and hugged the little girl, loving her so much already.

Catriona studied him, watching him. "It was sad, what happened to Jamie. Tragic. We all miss her. You can't blame yourself. I want you to be happy."

Annora giggled and squrimed in the hug then settled down. She pet her cat then pouted. "Addyanna lub kitcat too?" She asked with her eyes big as sausers as she bascally was pleading with her to pet the cat. The one thing that stayed consent in her life she wanted Adriana to love the cat too.

"I do blame myself" He sighed "I dont even know what happened, did she die during childbrith or after, I wasnt even here, little Annora came early I wasnt even here" He held his head in his hands. He hadnt opened up about this to anyone and now he couldnt even raise his head.

Adriana saw the look Annora gave her and she smiled. "Of course I love the cat," she reached out and stroked the cat along his back. "Such a pretty kitty."

( how did his wife die? Tue Dr did something, right?)

Feeling sad for him, Catriona pushed herself up and went to him. She put a hand on his shoulder. "I am not real sure how or when she died. There is talk, though that the doctor did something."

Annora sighed happily. She watched Adriana pet the cat and nodded. "Kitcat likes Addyanna too" The cat responded by giving both of them a kiss on their hands. Annora giggled . "See?" She said. She was quiet for a little bit. "Addyanna not from highlands like Annora?" It was clear that she had herd a little bit of talk here and there and was curious.

Alec looked up at her. "Who did you hear say this?" Was there a chance that it wasnt his fault, but why would the doctor want both his wife and daughter killed, and more then likely himself too. He closed his eyes. "Thank you Catriona, you really are a sweet woman, how are you feeling, getting close I assume?"

Adriana smiled. " really? I'm glad he likes me too." She smiled at the cat. When Annora asked about not being from the highlands, Adriana chuckled. "No, I'm from a place called England."

( okay!)

"You should ask one of the ladies who helped him with the birth. They looked really upset after when they went back home to their husbands. the others have noticed how much better Annora is since Adriana started to tend to her." She sighed a bit,it was terrible, the thought that a doctor would harm a woman and child. "Your welcome. I am feeling fine, just a bit tired lately and I feel really heavy." She made a face. "I think the baby is ready to be born any day now."

Annora shuddered. "England scary" She sucked in her two fingers again. She had heard bath things about England, manily talk from the other people.

Alec shook his head again "I will not and can not do that, I should have been there and I was not" He stood. "Here would you like help to your home?" He sighed. "Than you so much" He looked down at her. "You will make a great mom"

Adriana shook her head. "No. it's not scary. It's a lovely place. I lived out in the country. it was lovely, and peaceful. Sometimes when I went into the city, the live there would be busy. But it wasn't scary." She gently stroked the little girls hair. "Only one man was scary." With a sigh, she looked off to the distance, just thinking.

"You can't blame yourself for not being there. Not every husband can be there for their child's birth. The doctor should have done everything he could have to save her." Catriona sighed deeply. "If you wish to help me home, you may. You're welcome." She smiled at him. "Oh, thank you. I hope I will be. I'm really nervous about being a mother."

Annora continued to suck on her finger and shook her head. "Unkie Brodrick says its dangerous" She looked serious as if Brodrick couldnt say anything wrong. But then she looked up at her. "Uncle Brodrick will make the mean man sorry he was mean you should tell him" The little girl kept looking up at her "Did the mean man hurt Addyanna?" Brodrick was within hearing distane but was hidden and was silent so neither would know that he was there.

Alec sighed and shook his head "She was too gentle I should have waited" He smiled "I love your company but your husband is a worried wreck over you" He took her arm and stroked her hand. "Well you will have plently of help" He was feeling really guilty now this soman was about to give brith and he was complaining about his wife tht may of died during child birth. He really was a fool.

"England wasn't so bad. I was told that the highlands were so good either, but that's because neither country gets along, just like other highland clans don't get along with this clan," she stated softly. "Oh its alright, sweety, you don't need to worry about me."

Catriona smiled softly at him. "Gentle or not, she wanted to give you a child. She was happy. She would want you to be happy. You shouldn't blame yourself. She wouldn't blame you. Any mother would rather she die then her child die." She rubbed her stomach gently. "I'm not worried about the birth of my child. I'm excited."

Annora shook her head sadly. "No lots of fighting, I miss the festives I went once, unkie Brodrick took me once, I danced to the music Laird Alec he got mad said I was too sick to leave my room, I didnt feel sick though" She petted her cat "But thats where I got kitcat here some mean kids were going to kill it cause it was a runt" She smiled softly "but unkie brodrick took kitcat and gave him to me, said I had to stay strong to save him I did" She nodded to add emphesus.

Brodrick took this all in, Annora remember the festive she was a mere babe at the time barley 2 summers. He smiled, she was really bright.

Alec sighed "Do you really think so?" He smiled "My brother is very lucky to have found you"

"Kitcat needed me" She sighed "I just call him kitcat I dont know if thats a good name, the stripped cat looked up at Adriana and meowed Annora giggled. "He does like you"

Brodrick backed away feeling confident but dissapointed that he wasnt going to learn more about the Lady Adriana.

Alec nodded "He is" He continued to help her. "You are very beauitful, and caring but stubbrone, the perfect wife for my brother"

"Kitcat is a great name for him," she stated softly and kissed Annora's forehead. She smiled at the cat and patted his head.

( aw poor Brodrick. Adriana might tell him. I dunno. <3 or it might slip out if she's upset, or something xD )

Annora grinned hearing that Adriana liked her name for her cat. She leaned against her back and yawned. The fresh air doing her in again "Addyanna want to see the horsies now?" It was clear that she didnt want a nap at the moment.

Alec smiled "Well my brother thinks you are, well apart from the stubbroness but I say that is a good thing"

Adriana saw Annora yawn. "Well, alright. We can go see the horses, then it's nap time."

Annora rubbed her eyes "But I not tired" She said. Her body was not at 100% yet but her mind was she knew if she went and had a nap she would miss something. She was happy that Adriana was coming with her.

"Unkie Brodric said the one in the stall beside mine is yours" She grinned "She is preety"

Alec nodded "Well not normally but up here we all know that we have to be"

Adriana smiled softly. "You're getting there," she stated softly. She got up, and lifted Annora in her arms. "Oh she's pretty? That's wonderful." Adriana wasn't sure she was going to accept the horse though, she was still rather annoyed with Alec. She carried Annora over to the stables.

Catriona smiled. "Aye, indeed!"

Annora rubbed her eyes again and shook her head. "Naps are boring" She said with a poubt. She giggled and clapped and pointed to the horse "Unkie Brodrick says horse is prefect for highlands, big and sturdy and he said we can trade the babies for things we need" She looked up at her. "Unkie Brodrick make sure babies go to good homes no bad people"

She wiggled out and ran to her pony and took the brush that some one put down on a hook low enough for her to reach. "She needs to be brushed" She was clearly trying to prolong nap.

"Nap's aren't boring. Naps are refreshing," Adriana stated, and smiled softly. "That's good he makes sure the babies go to good people." She watched the young child. "Are you sure she needs to be brushed? She has handlers who make sure she's well taken care of." Chuckling, she moved up behind Annora.

Annora giggled "But if I am brushing her I dont need a nap" She said with a michvous grin. "Plus I like helping Glen out in barns, Unkie Brodrick used to let me, he never thought I was sick as doctor said me was"

She yawned again and her pony nudged her hand and neighed.
