Re: Primal Instinct
Nightmare cocked his head to one side seeing the man’s eyes grow wide while looking at him and went up on his hind legs and raised his paws up before he sat back down. Taigi looked to him forgetting it wasn’t exactly normal to have such a tame wolf with a person. She too realised the furniture, it looked to be cared of wood with some sort of padding added to the chairs to make it more comfortable, certainly something different, not even the Avains had furniture like it.
“I can as well, the shp almost crashed into rocks and they had to stay for some tiem in order to recover form their injuries" she said "and I don’t think anyone would be pleased about losing anything to be honest” said Taigi scratching the top of Nightmare’s head and he licked her fingers wagging his tail a little, looking to the boy she kneeled beside Nightmare and took his hand, he simply sniffed and licked the hand “see, not dangerous, he lived with me since he was young so he will not hurt anyone, unless they pose a threat to those he knows and considers part of his pack, even if they are in it themselves” she said.
After being lead to the Inn she settled down having folded her old clothes up into the fur bag she had brought with her and Nightmare jumped up and barked nipping playfully, making her laugh, she found some old cloth and played with him before he won and jumped on the bed with his new toy. “Honestly, silly little wolf” she said and stroked his soft fur as she lay on her front, still finding the wool clothing a little itchey.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor looked around the room he had been taken to. It had a comfortable bed and a piece of furniture that had parts that pulled out and one could store thing in them and anothr that opened and had a large open space that one could put things as well. All this was new to him and facinating. There so much that had been lost during the change, for his people and probably a lot more. Some how Jeb's people had been able to keep knowledge intact.
He wanted to learn more about Jeb's people, their way of life and what ever else he could find out. If things were indeed better there, perhaps he could convince his people to migrate there. It could be better for his people, especially since there were none like them in Jeb's lands.
He went over to Taigi's room since he didn't know any one else. Perhaps she would like to go explore the town some and see what was there. He knocked on the door and waited.

Re: Primal Instinct
Jumping when she heard the knock at the door Nightmare even jumped down when she went to open it and looked to him “Hmm, what is it?” she asked listening to what he said she nodded “sure, Nightmare you coming?” she asked the wolf who yipped and trotted over before sitting at her feet “we can find our way back easily if we both end up lost” she said, most of the time that happened to her back home so she wasn’t very worried if they did get lost.
They found many of the buildings were made of similar materials, the ones she had been told about by another member of the crew earlier, the place seemed very strange and extremely different from the civilisations back on their land, buildings were stronger as well, less likely to be damaged too. Taigi trailed her hands on the walls sometimes still finding this place very strange and Nightmare wondered off every now and then in order to explore but soon he would come running back cowering behind them when he got chased off.

Re: Primal Instinct
They got looks and poor Nightmare was chased off from those that seemed to be trading meats and fish for what looked to be round metal pieces. It seemed that Jeb's people had an abundance of metal. That was something that his people could use. He didn't know what his people would be able to trade for such a thing though. He would have to talk to Jeb and see what his people would like in return.
He would stop and scratch Nighmare behind the ears and tell him that he needed to stay with Taigi and him. The wolf pup was quite inquisitive but Fallor didn't want him getting into trouble. As Taigi examined the buildings, he said, "My chief has been wanting to build something like this on our mountain. But he doesn't have the knowledge of the material to use. Something else that would be useful for my people and perhaps the villagers we made friends with. These buildings are stronger and would seem to keep out the rain and the wind, and keep heat in better." Though heat would not be a problem in the Jungle or on the beach area where the village was. But also they would keep out the wild life a lot better then the rough structures made of branches and grass.
Later when they were returning to the Inn Jeb met them, and he asked what his people would like in trade for the metals that he had seen. "We could use strong metal for our weapons and other uses." he told him, "But it looks as if you do not need meats and such. All we have really are these." he open a pouch and poured out some in the rough gems. Diamonds, rubies and Emeralds lay in his hand. Jeb's eyes went wide and he put a hand over Fallor's and looked around quickly.
"Put those away, quickly." he told Fallor, and then quickly took him and Taigi back to his room. He then asked to see them again and Fallor poured the contents of the bag on a table. Again Jeb's eyes went wide and he sucked in a deep breath. "Where did you get these?" he asked.
"We find them in tunnels in the mountain we live on. We polish them up and use them for jewlery." Fallor told him.
Jeb laughed and shook his head. "My friend, it is a good thing that I be an honest man." He picked up a diamond the size of his thumb. "Men would kill for what you have here. In my lands these rocks as you think of them, are very valuable. Cut and polished they are made in to jewlery as well but people will pay dearly for such stones." Again he laughed. "Have no fear my friend. This be something that will get you all the metal and anything else you want."

Re: Primal Instinct
Returning back with a rather sullen Nightmare she followed a little listening to the conversation between the two, looking to the precious gems she wasn’t that fussed since she’d come across plenty within the mountains of their homeland. They were beautiful gems yes but certainly not short of them. She looked to Jeb and helped Fallor put them back into the bag that eh carried them in. She listened once more to the conversation.
“How are they valuable they come in plenty if left alone for a while, I have seen blue gems in the caves every now and then as well” she said not understanding how such rocks were valuable, “can you give us some information on how those structures are built and the materials?” she asked politely “they are stronger than our homes and would do better to keep out the predators on our homeland” she said.
Nightmare meanwhile stayed beneath the table, but Taigi watched carefully especially after what was said about those gems, people would kill for them? That was a frightening thought for her and she kept a hand near Nightmare who lifted his head and rested his muzzle on her palm.

Re: Primal Instinct
Jeb shook his head. "These are very rare in my land. Some have been found in old ruins but much of the inland has not been explored again. So such things are valuable. Tell no one about them. I take you to Tucker, the man you met earlier. He be a fair man and will get you the best deal. These alone will fetch you a hold full of metal if you want and what ever you need to begin building a town like this." he grinned. Such a deal would earn him a nice percentage and he would be able to aford things he was wanting back home.
"Blue stones, you say." he looked at Taigi then uo at the ceiling. "Oh can my luck be this good." then at the two of them. "Fate has been kind indeed to me." he laughed and then said. "I go fetch Tucker. Best them gems not be shown about." he left them to go get Tucker.
Fallor turned to Taigi and smiled.

Re: Primal Instinct
Taigi had missed out the fact some of them were in wolf caves but soon mentioned it “Although the blue ones are in the wolf caves” she said nonchalantly, with Nightmare she could walk in there easily to look at them and had kept a small one with her at all times, she didn’t mention it because it belong to her mother as well so she wouldn’t give ti up and kept it hidden more so now. She looked to Fallor when he left to get tucker and smiled a little “well that’s some good news, hopefully they’ll be able to build better houses and weapons like you said although that can have its downsides as well, take too much of the forest up for your houses and the animals will get angry” she said “and a pack of angry predators is not a good thing to be the cause of” she laughed a little.
“Also if we need things in the future we must be careful not to over mine the gems, for if they run out I doubt it’ll be easy to trade with them again” she said thinking a little ahead of time. She pulled out the little blue gem holding it in her palm, it wasn’t very big but it shined like a diamond when in the light, it was a sapphire gem. Closing her palm when Tucker walked in she watched and listened to what he had to say.

Re: Primal Instinct
Jeb brought Tucker to the room and he looked at Fallor and Taigi. The look on his face was a mixture of disbelief and anticipation. Jeb shut the door behind them and made sure no one was able to see in from the window. "Go ahead and show him." Jeb told Fallor a grin on his face.
He opened the leather pouch and again poured the rough gems out on the table. Like Jeb, Tucker's eyes went wide with surprise and delight. He licked his lips and picked up a couple of the gems and looked at them, then looked at them closer up to his eye. "Beautiful, he said. Then he looked down at the table at the rest of them. He then turned to Jeb, "We have to establish a Trading Post there immediately, before any others catch wind of this." Placing the two gems back on the table he rubbed his hands together. "My friends you are going to be a rich man and woman. I will have a contract written up and ready for you to sign by days end. Jeb here has told me what you want for your people and the villiagers. I'll have a ship loaded with what you wish and people that can help them begin building." He had a wide smile on his lips, as he put the gems in the leather pouch. "These will pay for everything that you have requested and more. I know you will be going with Jeb her to the Mainland. Who should we talk to there when the ship arrives." The man was quite excited.
"The village chief will be one to talk to. He will be able to arrange for those you are sending to meet with my people's chief. I will give you a token that will show they are friends."
"What of you young lady, what is it that you would like?" Tucker asked. "A lovely young lady as yourself I think would need some better clothes then those ruff woolen things. I'll send my wife over to take you to the Clother and see what they have."

Re: Primal Instinct
She noticed their reaction instantly and raised an eyebrow and Nightmare jumped up placing his paws on the table and cocked his head to one side at his reaction.” I doubt any will, from my knowledge that I have gained you are the first to travel across from there, however we should be careful with how much we mine for we do not wish to upset any of the animals since I have noticed a few are the caves of other animals.” She said “and it takes time for such gems to form”
“You can ask for the chief from anyone there, unless he is hunting then he is usually there.” She said and looked to him as he asked what she wanted. Truthfully she was happy with her life as it was, so she did not ask for much but knowledge materials the clothes were made from and how they were made. But at the second part she looked a little confused but simply nodded.
Later on his wife did turn up, a beautiful lady and looked around for Taigi before finding her “my, my he was right, come now We must go to the clothers this instant” she said, she did love to do a bit of shopping, even if it was for others. Taig got dragged out and made Nightmare stay doubting he would be allowed in there since black fur did get everywhere, the wolf found Fallor and lay in a huff at his feet, not happy about being left behind.
Arriving at the shop however, she simply looked at the things, there seemed to be different materials and textures as well as designs and patterns on the different types of clothing.

Re: Primal Instinct
"Not a worry young lady. We will not be the one minning them. Best keep the locations secret, especially when others find out where they are coming from." He could see that there was not sure what she would wanted. He grinned, and knew that given time she would see things that would catch her eye and she would want. All women did.
When Tucker's wife came she was wearing an orange colored scarf about her breasts and chest, and a longer one about her hips, belted about the waist and adorned with round metal disks, and a pair of slippers. She wore earrings that dangled down from her earlobes to her shoulders, and she wore a modest amount of makeup. At the Clothers the man and woman there smiled at Tucker's wife and then looked Taigi over.
"Oh yes, those clothes will not do. For going out into the forest or interior or working on the Sugar Farms perhaps but not here in town or the like." The woman said and grabbed Taigi by the hand and lead her back to a small room where she told her to wait and then went out and brought back a few items. Mainly clothes like Tucker's wife wore and some light, linen pantalon like pants and halter tops. "Try these on my dear. I think they will be perfect for you."

Re: Primal Instinct
She raised an eyebrow about to speak before she was taken by the hand and led to a small room. She was mainly going to be in the forest anyway, not really in towns at all. She tried some of the clothes on finding them strange and put on some shoes she was handed tying a scarf around her hips in a similar fashion to Tucker’s wife, hers however did not have the metal disks. Walking out the clothes still felt strange to her, much different style and material to what she was used to but at least they did not scratch unlike the cotton clothes. She had found a much shorter scarf and used it to tie her hair back and keep it from her face.
She looked to Tucker’s wife for an opinion. “Well?” she asked “At least they don’t scratch like the cotton clothes” she said still getting a slight tingle on her skin where the cotton had been scratching at her. Taigi still waited for her opinion though or anyone’s opinion at that matter.

Re: Primal Instinct
The woman smiled as she walked around Taigi and nodded her approval. "Lovely. The blue color is you." she grinned and put her infront of a large beaten and polished copper mirror. "Have a look." she said. She moved Taigi into position to look at herself. "It looks lovely on you, and your man out there I think will like it as well."
The woman thought Fallor was her man, since they came together and seemed to be wandering around the town together. She looked back out and then ushered Taigi out so Fallor could havea look at her. "What do you think?" he asked him.
Fallor looked at her and he grinned. The outfit fit nicely, showing off her curves and her protruding tits. He legs and middriff were exposed and she did look quite lovely. "I think that looks well on her."

Re: Primal Instinct
She looked to her a little confused at what she said and shook her head realising “Fallor isn’t my man” she said to her blushing a little. “He’s just a friend” she said looking in the mirror, it certainly did suit her better than her leather clothes at least. She looked to her as she looked outside; having forgotten that he was there and was ushered out by the woman. “Thanks” she said and kneeled down, Nightmare came over and sniffed at her hands before he rested his paws on her shoulder and licked her cheek recognising it was her by scent finally before she stood up and the wolf barked wagging his tail looking at her with a dopy look.
The woman looked a little shocked at the wolf’s behaviour towards her, but didn’t appear to mind as much. “Nightmare down” she said. The wolf then sat at her feet looking up and still wagging his tail with that dopy look on his face. The top she soon realised wasn’t too different what she usually wore in the jungle anyway but the pantaloons were a bit odd still and it took a bit for her to get used to them as well as the slipper shoes. She decided to walk around town a little more get used to the clothes and Nightmare wanted to run around again.
She kept a hand in the soft black fur of the pup in order to make sure he stayed close, the pup made sure of that as well not wanting to end up being chased off again, she was running everything of the day through her mind again, slowly. Something about what had been said bothered her, or rather a few things,' men would kill for such things' and 'If other people found out' she wondered what would happen. Shaking her head she just explored the place dragging Nightmare and Fallor with her, no mentioning what had been said to her earlier.
After several hours of wondering around the town, she began heading back with Nightmare, she made Nightmare stay in the room feeling the nervousness of the young wolf. “Stay here, I’ll bring back some raw meat for you boy” she said to him and scratched the whining pup under the chin. Going to where the food was served “do you have some raw meat, I need to give m pup some food as well” she said to them, “we’ll give you some when you hand your bowl back missy” they said to her and she nodded before she settled down at a table at a table tasting the new food and sipping the water she had been given. Handing the bowl back she was given some raw meat, and she headed back to her room giving Nightmare the meat in which he gladly chewed and devoured happily, chewing on the bone that was left, wagging his tail happily.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor had gone along with Taigi. He had seen a number of women in the town and most were wearing what Tucker's wife was, but some wore other things as well. As he walked to the clothers he noted that there were carts full of stuff being taken to the docks. "What are those?" he asked Jeb.
"Sugar Cane. A very sweet substance that the people back on the mainland have come to enjoy. It grows only here that we know of and brings a good price." he smiled. He had seen her with less on but now these clothes seemed to just highlight ever thing about her. When she began walking about the town, Tucker's wife had several of the outfits bundled up and sent over to the Inn.
He liked what Tucker's wife selected for Taigi, and it seemed that Nightmare was a bit confused by the outfits, but still regonized Taigi. He saw a number of men looking at her now, and he knew the look in their eyes. He met her back at the Inn and had some food as well before going back up to his room. Jeb had left to check on his ship and the cargo that would be heading back to the Mainland.

Re: Primal Instinct
She had gone back to the Inn a little early because she felt the looks and it was strange to her, Nightmare still chewing on the bone contently while Taigi just thought through things. She soon went to find Fallor followed by the pup and his bone knocking at the door “hey, do you know what they are loading onto the ships at the dock?” she asked him. “I haven’t seen it before, does it just grow here?” she asked, she decided to look through the other clothes Tucker’s wife had sent to the Inn a little later on, something else she could do while here.
She also knew Fallor had asked about it since she had seen him head there before, “well, going to answer Fallor?” she asked sitting cross legged on his bed as she waited for him to answer Nightmare having gone back to hide under Taigi’s bed to chew his bone not wanting anyone to take it from him, raising an eyebrow she smiled at the pup. “he likes the new bone he got at least…” she said before humming softly to herself.

Re: Primal Instinct
"They call it Sugar Cane. It looks to be some sort of fibrous stalk that is sweet to the taste and is liked by those where Jeb comes from. He said that it fetches a good price and only grows here." he told her as he sat on the edge of the bed and stroked Nightmare's fur. He looked like he was enjoying the bone. He went down to the floor and laid there, putting the bone between his front paws to hold it and chewed on it.
He looked her over again in her new outfit. In the light it looked a bit transparent and he could see her full tits beneath the cloth. He smiled at that and then wondered about her, then pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind for the present. "You had best stay here for now. I have walked more then I probably should have. I need to streach my wings and fly for a bit."
He went down stairs and out into the street and launched himself into the air. There were gasps and people called out as he took to the air, flapping his wings and began flying over the town. As he looked down, people were looking up and pointing, a look of awe on their faces. He flew out over the ocean a bit and enjoyed the freedom of flying. Again he looked down, but this time it was not humans he saw, but Mer swiming towards the island, and a lot of them. He immediately flew back to the island and landed on Jeb's ship.
"Mer, swimming this way." he told Jeb. His eyes got big and he went up to the upper deck to a bell there and began ringing it.
"All hands to your stations." he yelled out. "Arm yourselves lads, we be fighting once more." The other two ships hearing the bell also prepared for battle and on shore he could see people running for buildings and shutting doors and windows tightly. Men appeared on the docks with weapons.

Re: Primal Instinct
She looked to him and nodded “sounds interesting, I wonder what products that are produced using it taste like” she said thinking a little; maybe she could ask one of them about it. She nodded at what he said “See you later then” she said after her left she clicked her fingers and Nightmare followed her back to her room with his bone and she sorted through the clothes while her began to lick at the marrow clearly still happy with it. She found something like a jacket, it was a thicker material, not leather a sort of felt like material. She tried it on and smiled, it was warmer and big enough to go over her clothes.
She looked at the others before walking outside into the main room seeing them putting out some strange thing, they were cakes. Going over she asked to try one taking a bite she found it very sweet, more so than the fruits on the homelands, it tasted quite nice and found something to do as well with the woman in the kitchen enjoying teaching her to make them in return Taigi taught her how to make a different dish as well without using the sugar.
Heading outside afterwards and heard a commotion wondering what was going on she had brought her bow and arrows with her just encase. She heard people shouting and saw some mers coming up on the beach. “Maybe, it’s the sugar cane” she muttered and turned around swiftly Nightmare having pinned one down snapping angrily at it when I dared to go near her and then went back to her as the mer walked off. She found Jeb who was still on his ship “It’s the sugarcane, think about it only grows here and they are attacking ships that are transporting items in hopes to find it, guessing they figured out it came from here.” She said.

Re: Primal Instinct
"Don't think it is the sugar cane lassy. That was not our cargo coming here when they took it." Jeb told her as the Mer clamored aboard the ship. The beach and docks were filled with sailors and towns people, armed with spears and swords but only a very few bows. The Mer looked like normal humans but had gills behind their ears and webbing between fingers and toes. Their skin was a greenish to blue in color. Their clothing was made of a strange material that seemed to shed water and was not effected by water.
As they came on board they attacked and the crew met them. Fallor knew he could do the best in the air with his bow. He flew around the ship and let loose vollely after volley at the Mer taking out as many as he had arrows. When he ran out of arrows, he swooped down and grabbed one and took him high up in the air and over land and dropped him. The fall broke most of the Mer's bones and then he swooped in and grabed a quiver of arrows from a fallen human and again set about shooting them.
Their surprise attack had not been as much as a surprise as they had thought and had met a strong defense. After loosing almost half their numbers they retreated back into the sea and swam away. When it was over he landed by Taigi. "Are you all right." he asked.

Re: Primal Instinct
Taigi found herself a good point to shoot as well with Nightmare keeping them back from her, the vicious wolf snapping and growling at them. Shooting most of her targets down with one arrow she managed to keep most at bay sending Nightmare to another fallen to pick up arrows and bring them back quickly to use them. Lining them up she managed to hit one more before they retreated. She watched briefly as they retreated and turned to him when he spoke landing by her. “I’m fine, I owe Nightmare a new bone though” she said smiling a little “What about you?” she asked, she knew she’d be fine since Nightmare could keep them away from her and she had checked him over as well, making sure he was not hurt.
“It is strange for them to attack, if it is not the sugarcane then why do they attack them, makes no sense” she said looking to Fallor for his answer to if he was ok. Nightmare sniffed Fallor’s hand as well and licked his fingers as if asking as well and looked up to him. She kept the coat around her still to keep warm form the bitter sea breeze. “Do you know when we head back?” she asked looking to both Fallor and Jeb for an answer.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled. "I am allright." He reached down and petted Nightmare's head. That wolf pup was becoming a part of his life as well as Taigi's.
"That is something we may never know." Jeb explained. "They are a secretive race, and have shunned all others until recently." He looked at the mouth of the harbor, "We have only seen them in the past swimming near the surface of the water, where we think some of their cities may be located. Just recently they have attacked ships it seems and now a town out of the water."
"We must find one and question him." Fallor said. But all of the Mer that were left behind were dead, even those that had been wounded and not able to get to the water. They had been killed by their own kind. Again that made no sence, unless they did not want anyone knowing what they were up to.
Finding none alive Fallor examined the bodies. Their weapons were not made of metal or wood, as that would rust or rot in water and be worthless. They were made of bone and a crystal that was strong and sharp. They had nothing else on them except a fish scale like clothing. Again nothing that would let them know why they were attacking ships and now people on land. "We will have to try and capture one then. Prhaps when they try to attack again." he looked around the harbor. "There and there, those high cliffs overlooking the mouth to the harbor. Perhaps build tall structures to keep watch on the waters beyond."
Jeb looked at where he pointed and nodded. "I will let them know to build such structures." he looked at Taigi when she asked when they would be leaving. "In a day or so. The cargo back to the mainland is being loaded along with fresh supplies and some replacements for those crewmen we lost. Tucker also wants to add a few more for protection." He smiled at Taigi, "Anxious to see a real city?" he grinned.

Re: Primal Instinct
She smiled a little glad he was alright before she turned her attention to Jeb as he spoke, listening she only grew more curious as to why they were attacking the boats, if they knew why then they could find a way to solve it and stop ships being attacked so much, she helped trying to find one that was alive and frowned a little having no luck she sighed “They clearly didn’t want anyone to know what is going on, even killed their own so we didn’t question them” she said wondering back with Nightmare and listened to what else was said. She nodded a little “that is an idea, however if they see them they could try to evade the towers so maybe if they are camouflaged, better chance of catching one.” She said thinking a little “Also the indent in the cliff is a similar colour to the buildings in the small town; maybe if you use a slightly darker maybe it could be blended in.” she said her head falling a little to one side as she thought.
She looked to Jeb “A little, on our homeland there is not much chance for us to travel to different places such as these islands, just doesn’t happen and we do not get to see different civilisations and cultures that much either” she nodded, “Also if a city is much bigger than this then it much be something, I read about them in an old book I found, skyscrapers and something called concrete made buildings” she said thinking back to the image she had in her head. Days were passing quickly once more and Taigi spent most of that time simply looking around and looking at different things, she gotused to the clothes and found the materials of far more interest. She did ask about them knowing some of the other women would like these clothes, most likely more that she did, she also usually wore the felt like coat. People still seemed puzzled about Nightmare acting so much like a young child as some would say around Taigi and Fallor. She looked to the ship again knowing it would be another long trip.

Re: Primal Instinct
Jeb nodded at Taigi's suggestion and added it to Fallor's. If the Mer were begining to attack even towns like Port Cane then more precautions had to be taken to ensure the safety of the people, and the goods that were stored in the warehouses and ships. "They be definately up to something." he said, "I be taking some extra men along on the voyage home. So if I were you young lassy, I would be keeping an eye on those. Those with me when you found us be thinking of you as part of the crew and a daughter to all, but these others will be strangers. Any give you trouble, you come to old Jeb or one of me original crew, you here."
When she mentioned the pictures of skyscrapers and such he laughed. "We not be that far along. We just be scratching at the surface of getting things back together."
The next two days went by fast and the construction on the towers and the camofluge began. Finally the ship was ready to sail and on the early morning tide they left Port Cane and sailed out into the vast ocean. Again the ship moved about and one had to get use to walking on the deck. A few days later Fallor was doing what the rest of the crew could do. He was becoming quite good at being a sailor, even though if he needed to go up to help with the sails, he flew up. It was faster and it gave his wings some exercise.

Re: Primal Instinct
She nodded a little at what was said to her; she already had that feeling anyway and had grown to be cautious of strangers anyway. “No need to laugh it’s only what I saw in a book, also really think strangers will come anywhere near me and Nightmare, I don't think you even came near us at first, so I'll be fine.” she said. Helping with the camouflage when the day came to set sail she found herself something to do, settling herself on cooking and going up to the birds nest to watch out of the Mers always taking her bow and arrows with her, for her it was hard to find things she could do. Settling in the birds nest at the top of the ship she watched the waters with Nightmare down below, paws on the edge of the ship sniffing the sea air for any Mers.
Nightmare gave a bark and catching Taig’s attention she looked to where Nightmare was and climbed down from the bird nest having seen Mers heading their way. “Mer’s heading this way, a small group by the looks of it” she said, writing it down on a scrap of paper and giving it to Nightmare who ran around finding people and getting them to read it if not doing one of his small actions to tell them which seemed to work just as well. She scratched his ear when he came back and looked into the water jumping back when one climbed over board and drew and arrow quickly.

Re: Primal Instinct
Things were going well as the days past. It was strange not seeing land for such a long time. Fallor had no idea how big the ocean was until he was there upon it All about from horizon to horizon was nothing but water. He seen Taigi spend a lot of time up in the crows nest looking out over the ocean. Nightmare seemed to have gotten his sea legs and was able to move about the ship with ease now.
He was making friends with the crew as they would give him pieces of meat they would save from their meals. Then one day he began barking at the starboard side of the ship. As Taigi came down from the crows nest he went aloft using his wings. As Taigi began spreading the alarm about the Mer he positioned himself above to have a clear and unobstructed view of the ship's deck.
As the Mer began coming on board the crew that was not on deck at the time, doing their daily duties, emerged weapons in hand, screaming their battle cries. The seer numbers of men was a great surprise to the Mers. They thought they would be able to take the ship and then the cargo with ease as they had in the past. But now they had those watching for them and waiting for them.
Fallor fired his arrows, but not to kill, only wound. He wanted one alive. Only when one of the crew or Taigi was in danger did he fire to kill. The Mer kept coming as it seemed there were more far below that were rising to the surface. But the crew had managed to beat them back to the railings of the ship and stood their ground, not letting any more come aboard. Finally they saw it was fruitless and retreated. On the deck were five wounded Mer, and they tried to take their own lives but were stopped in time.
"Now we be having some answers." Jeb told Fallor as he landed. "We will make them talk and then know what they be up to."

Re: Primal Instinct
Nightmare snarled keeping the Mers at bay; they did not appear to like the wolves at all. Afterwards she gave instructions to Nightmare who stopped one from killing himself and took all the weapons and hid them below deck quickly enjoying it and thinking this was all a game as Taigi kept her eye on the Mers making sure none of them moved with help from some of the crew members, During the journey though Nightmare had taken a particular disliking to one of the new crew members.
Returning back to her the wolf watched the Mers circling them all like a wolf would its prey in the wild. “Why are you attacking the ships? We cannot think of a reasonable explanation for it.” She said one of them looked to her “Why should we tell you, human?”
“Because if we know the reason why then maybe we can come up with a solution that both sides can agree to, instead of beginning to attack islands and towns” she answered “Now, why are you attacking the ships?” Nightmare remained circling them, after one more circling he sat at her side looking to them giving a light snarl every now and then when one moved. All she got was silence, one in particular seemed more quite then the others, she moved and sat opposite them and said one simple word “Speak.”
