Re: Primal Instinct
"That not be the way to make them talk Lassy." Jeb told her. "You might not want to be below deck when we be using other methods to get the information we want." There were ways that would make one talk that was not to cruel but enough that gave pain and most did not like that, especially if it was constant. "You not be use to such ways and you should not see it."
The crew took the Mers below and insured they were securely bound and had no other weapons or anything on them that could help free them. Jeb and a couple others went below and began the process. Fallor took her forward to the bow of the ship. He had an idea of what was going to happen.

Re: Primal Instinct
She looked to them, wondering a little why; she did not have much of an idea. Words, simple words had always been enough. Nightmare cocked his head to one side as he watched them being taken below deck. She looked to Fallor, he seemed to have an idea. Naïve as she was she wasn’t stupid had a feeling someone would at least know. “What is going on?” she asked as she was taken to the bow of the ship.
Nightmare followed, the look on their faces before they were taken down had been one of fear mostly and that made her think, “Answer me Fallor” she said her tone changing as if she was demanding an answer in some ways she was, she hated being told only half the story. Nightmare suddenly cowered which made her turn and look at the dog listening, she could hear something below deck and that soon tempted her to find out what was happening. She soon made a run for it, having a feeling she might get stopped and headed for below deck, wanting to know what was going on. She could hear something, like crying and then a simlair voice from one of the Mers they.. didn't sound... they're voices were not as strong as before they sounded broken.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor took her by the arm and shook his head. "Their method of getting answers is not a nice one. My people have used similar methods on captured enemy tribes of our race. It involves giving pain to those being questioned. The manner varies, but one can only endure so much before they tell you what you want to know." he motioned for her to sit.
"That is why Jeb suggested for you to stay here. He did not want you seeing such things, for they are not nice." He reached down and petted Nightmare. He could hear the screams of pain from below, that were muffled to human and his hears, but not to the sensitive hearing of the wolf.
About an hour later Jeb came back topside and leaned on the starboard railing. "Don't like that much." he muttered and then turned to Fallor and Taigi. "Well found out what the fuss is all about. Seems like the Mer have found something that they are trying to get pieces for. These don't know what it is, only that they need trade goods to trade to some one that has knowledge of where these things are. Since the Mer have nothing that the surface people want, they are stealing what we have to trade for what they need."

Re: Primal Instinct
She turned to him trying to pull her arm free for a moment before she listened to what he said and stopped pulling her arm looking quite shocked at what she heard before she sat down a frown on her face and her brows furrowed a little at the thought, Nightmare nudged her under her arm as she sat down and licked her cheek softly giving a light whine and she covered the wolf’s ears with her hands. Nightmare didn’t like the sounds, they sounded horrible to him, awful. Nightmare barked a little seeing Jeb and Taig looked to him standing up waiting for answers, “Why won’t they just ask then?” she said but stopped her questioning.
“Hmm, I wonder what it is though, it must be something important for them to go to such extents” she said remembering that a Mer city was right by the shore of where the trades would most likely take place. She soon just went down to her bed, the thought of what had happened was both frightening and alien to her, she knew a lot of things, she had learnt so much in her short life but these sort of things, they had not even sprung to mind of even been heard of by her ears.
Moving her coat and tucking it under her bed she closed the door to her room on the ship and Nightmare whimpered, lying down on her front she stroked the wolf’s head who licked at her fingers which did bring a weak smile to her face at least. She did also wonder what it was they needed pieces for and why it was so important to the Mers. She sighed and rolling onto her back held the deep blue sapphire necklace above her head watching its dull gleam meet her eyes as she tried to calm down.

Re: Primal Instinct
"They have nothing to trade for what we have. All they need for themselves is where they live. Except for what ever they are looking for. Those below have no idea of what it is that is being looked for. It is something their leaders have determined is very important."
Now the question was what was so important that they had to steal trade goods to sell to someone to get. Then too who was taking the goods from them. From what Jeb told Fallor, they had no idea of where the stuff went either, that was handled by others.
Fallor could see that the method of questioning the Mer had disturbed her and let her go below to her room.
The five Mer's were kept prisoners and would be turned over to the authorities when they made land fall. They were well cared for but kept chained.

Re: Primal Instinct
She dozed off briefly emerging a little later on climbing up to the crow’s nest in the middle of the night watching the night sky still quite disturbed by the method of questioning that was used. Nightmare rested below the mast in which the crow’s nest was situated not that he minded being outside. She did noticed the salty air long before hand. Climbing down after a few hours when someone called up to her “Coming” she said and climbed down. Nightmare hid under the table in the room while she sat down staying close to her dozing off before Taigi handed him a bit of meat, she looked to her side noticing a crew member sitting next to her and trying to ease her a little about the questioning. Telling her they wouldn't use it unless there was no other option which in this case there was no other option. She did not take much notice of those words, to her it sounded like only an excuse. Shifting the food around on her plate taking a spoonful of the soup picking out bits of meat to feed to Nightmare, who gladly accepted any scarps given by him from Taigi or most of the crew members, A light snarl came from the wolf when that crew member sat down on the same table "Be nice Nightmare" she whispered gently.
"What is that mangy mutt doing on board anyway?" he said; the catlike human hissing a little. Looking to him she frowned "He is my friend and has helped me many of times before, and he is a wolf not a mutt." she said to him bluntly tucking the pup under her legs to stop him from biting at the crew members legs. She had decided to where the necklace for a change, tucking it under her shirt, taking a bite she didn't talk to Rich at all; the crew member that Nightmare hated. Standing up after a while she clicked her tounge and Nightmare followed giving a final snap at Rich. "Oi Rich, what did you do?" asked one of the older crew members "That mangy mutt just hates me" a shout came back "He is a wolf!" she shouted lookign voer her shoulder breifly. Heading back to her small room.
That night one of the Mers escaped, having seen the necklace, it seemed to be an item they needed, a blue sapphire necklace. The wounded Mer moved fairly quickly, despite the cuts and totured mind, over the landing finding where she was in her room within an instant and covered her mouth instantly to ensure she wouldn't scream. Waking up not soon after, the mer took the necklace and bolted from the room avoiding a nasty bite from Nightmare.Taigi soon raced to follow. She didn’t plan to lose that necklace, not ever. Heading to the sea they jumped in soon followed By Taigi who dived under, she could swim, but not for long periods of time. Going under she pulled the necklace from their grasp snapping the feeble chain during the tug-of-war match between the two. Getting to the surface she heard Nightmare barking, having forgot to figure out how she was getting herself back on the ship afterwards, she had not thought ahead in the slightest.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor continued to be part of the crew, helping where he could. He wanted to learn everything there was about ships, navigation, and their construction. Though his people could fly, they could not fly great distances with out resting. They had flowen inland some but all they could see from above was jungle. Those peaks jutting out of the jungle usually had other avian tribes on them, and had laid claim to the territory around the mountains they were on. If things worked out, perhaps he could convince his people to build ships and begin sailing back and forth themselves and explore further north and south of where they were along the coast.
He was aloft, repairing some of the sail that hat torn, when he heard the commotion below. He saw the Mer run up on deck and dive over the railing and into the sea with Taigi right on his heals. A moment later she was back on the surface of the water but the ship had moved on away from her. He launched himself from his perch and flew down and hovered over her. "Grab my ankles and I will fly you back to the ship." he told her.

Re: Primal Instinct
She nodded and reached her arms up quickly so as not to go back under again holding onto his ankles as he said. Back on board she looked to her necklace glad the pendant was still there and gave a sigh of relief. “Thank you, thought I’d get left behind” she said a little sheepishly, “Guess I shouldn’t have dived straight off the deck next time” she said scratching Nightmare’s head as he licked her sea salt tasting fingers.
She sighed and rustled her head looking at her soaked clothes “perhaps I should go change” she noticing they were a little see through when soaked through, going below deck she was quick to get to her room and slipped off her soaked clothes finding her old ones to wear until they dried off and ticking the necklace under her shirt, to keep it with her.

Re: Primal Instinct
Taigi was soaked. Her clothes stuck to her and one could see through the material. Fallor had a very good look at her lovely charms, and raised a brow at it. He looked her over and made sure that she was not hurt. "Now why did you chase after that Mer for. The water is his home element and he could have drowned you easily." he asked a bit sternly as he followed her down to her small room on the ship.
He waited outside her room as she changed out of her wet clothes, waiting for her answer.
The Mer swam on and down. The ocean floor was deep, but that is not where he was heading. A small outpost on a high ridge of an underwater mountain range was his destination. The small domed outpost had only a few buildings under it. He entered an airlock and then the outpost. Here under the dome was no water. He immediately reported to the Commander there to let him know what he saw. Out of the five prisoners, it seemed he knew what his people were stealing trade goods for.

Re: Primal Instinct
After changing she walked out and looked to him “Because he took my necklace, although now I need to repair the chain” she said having tied a knot in it for now to ensure it wouldn’t fall from her neck or that she would accidently dropped it. “And I can swim so I would have been fine” she said just being a little stubborn, although truthfully she really didn’t know how she would’ve got back without him.
She tied back her soaked hair in order to keep the wet strands from her face and so she didn’t taste the salty ends of her hair in her mouth. She scratched Nightmare’s head once more “an what were you doing outside so late anyway, still helping out the crew?” she asked trying to change the subject a little not wanting to go back to the topic as to why she did such a thing and the lack of plan she had when she did dive into the sea after the Mer.

He gave her a look as if to say don't change the subject. "It is not worth getting killed over." he told her. "But perhaps it is a good thing that you got it back. Now they will not have it and it gives us an idea of what they are wanting. But the Why is still a question that needs to be answered. What can these stones be to them. Surely not for adornment. That is not something one would attack the humans to get. "
He looked her over now in her other clothes. He liked it when she was in the other clothes and they were wet. He was begining to find her attractive and wondering more about her.

Re: Primal Instinct
She glared at him a little when he said it wasn’t worth getting killed over “Well it’s my treasure, I don’t plan to lose it” she said stubbornly before she listened to what else he had to say, “remember what Jeb said about these’ some would kill for them’, maybe these gems only appear in caves, like pearls underwater” she said nodding a little. She somehow knew that her attempts to change the subject had failed after getting that look from him and frowned slightly. “Anyway I’m going back to bed” she said “and you need to sleep as well” Nightmare flicked his ears up giving a light bark before darting back into her room. After which she seemed to kick something in annoyance.
Waiting to see if he had anything more to say before she turned around and went into her room finding something she could use to dry herself off a little having forgotten to before. She soon made sure to settle down to bed though. Pulling her arms up to cover her eyes a little thinking she soon got a look from Nightmare who jumped up and licked her hands whining. She rustled her head a little annoyed at herself for not picking up the Mers presence more quickly before it took her necklace.
In the morning her new clothes had not dried so she wore her leather ones, at least they weren’t see-through. Again she faced that unpleasant roach named Rich. Nightmare growled a little and she rolled her eyes, the two of them just never seemed to get along. “Why is that dog even on board “he is a wolf, and he is on board because he is my companion, end of, Rich” she said. He did enjoy winding her up. She seemed a little more on edge “oh and you thought jumping over the ship to get that silly necklace of that Mer a good idea last night?” he said which made her turned her attention to him quickly. “That is none of your business” she snapped “you had to get someone to come and get you as well, why are you even allowed on board?” he said crossing his arms. She had no answer and simply turned to go find something to eat for herself and Nightmare.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor shook his head and as she went back into her room he again turned and left to learn a bit more about reading maps and plotting courses, and how to determine their positions on the map. He found it all quite interesting and wanted to learn everything he could. It was a brand new world for him, one that he had never thought was possible or was out there. He met Jeb in a little room behind the wheel of the ship where the charts and insturments for determining where they were, were kept. Jeb laid out the chart on a table that was bolted down to the floor and placed some weights on the cornners to keep it open. He began explaining to Fallor about latitude and lontitude.
In the morning one of the original crew, one that was a big man, with two large lower teeth protruding from the lower jaw and a bald head was heading up to the deck from below when he heard the voice of one of the new crew members. From the tone and the wording he knew that the man was talking to Taigi. For such a big man, he moved quietly and moved up behind the man. He looked down at him and said, "Is there a problem here?" he asked. "You want know why Miss Taigi and her wolf pup here aboard? Because the Captain want them here, as does most of crew." his voice was deep and gruff. "You bother Miss Taigi, Abe toss you over board and feed big fish." He gave Rich a mean look and shouldered past him.

Re: Primal Instinct
Taigi hadn’t exactly noticed until she turned around and thanked him politely as Nightmare jumped up giving the man a lick on the cheek, the young wolf pup was certainly getting used to being around so many people now. The pup soon danced around her feet giving excited yips as he did when she had her plate of food “honestly Nightmare, calm down, this is becoming a habit of yours huh?” she said knowing the cute little pup could get away with scrounging food from the crew members with ease.
After that she ventured around finding the maps herself she looked to them remembering bits of what her parents had taught her, the wolf looking to her confused as he sat at her heels as she whispered to herself working her finger along the route they had taken, following the marked out route and teachings herself a little, just one or two basic things like what was land and sea. Deep in concentration as she soon let her finger stop where they were at the moment. “Wow, that’s some way” she whisteled

Re: Primal Instinct
Abe gave her a toothy smile as she thanked him. "You part of ships family. Anyone bother you..." he looked back at Riches retreating form, "Especially him. You come tell Abe. I make sure he not bother you ever again." He reached down and petted Nightmare's head. "Good wolf. You keep Miss Taigi safe." he then left going up to take the wheel for his shift at it.
Fallor found Taigi in the Chart Room. He heard her comment and said, "Indeed it is. Who would have thought a short time ago that there was another world out there beyond our jungle." He looked down at the chart, "We are still a very long way from Jeb's homeland.
From the crows nest came a call, "Ship off the Starboard bow, and a Demon Serpent heading its way."
Jeb was immediately on deck looking out over the water with a long tube like thing. "Damn." he swore, "Blasted Demon Serpent." Fallor was at his side trying to see what he was seeing but couldn't. Jeb handed him the tube, "Put it to your eye and close the other one." He did as he was instructed and brought the tube down with a startled look on his face. Then slowly he raised it again. "He saw the other ship plainly now and the long serpent like creature heading its way. The thing was a monster, at least eighty feet in length and ten feet in diameter.
"All hands on deck. Arm yourselves lads." Jeb yelled out. "Abe." he called up to the huge man, "Make for the ship. Can't let those poor devils fight that thing alone."
"Aye Captain." Abe yelled back and turned the ship to head for the other ship, as the crew assembled on deck, spears in hand, swords at the waist, and some with bows. Jeb turned to Taigi, "You stay close to me lassy."
Fallor was already in the air, his wings beating hard to close the distance, his bow in hand.

Re: Primal Instinct
Nightmare barked happily wagging his tail at Abe and Taigi simply smiled before she vanished to the chart room. Jumping suddenly having gotten lost in thought when she heard Fallor “shesh, gave me a heart attack” she said looking as Nightmare greeted Fallor and licked his fingers before Taigi heard the shout, rushing up to the deck with the wolf hot on her heels she looked out to see seeing the distant shapes of a ship and a snake like creature in the water. Not long after that she heard a huge roar from the monster, as if it was ready to attack. Taig had sent Nightmare to grab her quiver for her in which he soon sprinted back almost tackling her and handing it to Taigi quickly growling as they neared where the other ship and the demon sea serpents was.
She had never seen or heard of anything like it before as they neared the water was thrashing with the movements from the sea serpent as it attacked the lone ship and soon after started to tackle both the ship giving a fierce screech of a roar at them both. Taigi stayed close watching cautiously and Nightmare cowered at her side but stayed close. It soon began to wrap its body around one of the ships the large scales occasionally slipping off and it soon started to attack the crews on board even eating some of them with razor sharp teeth and fangs just waiting for a meal. The tail still smug on board the ship and Taigi moved after pushing Jeb away to avoid the crushing of the steel like tail avoiding it herself with nightmare “Watch out up there!” she shouted to Fallor a little worried about him and the others.

Fallor flew over head as the Jeb's ship closed the distance. Already the other crew was fighting the beast, stabbing at it with spears, and hacking at it with their swords as it tried to wind itself around the ship. Arrows flew but seemed to do no good. Even the spears were not doing to well. They punctured the skin of the creature but found no vital organs. Fallor had no idea such huge creatures existed. But much had changed from the great accident, were the stuff that had been created to change mankind into various forms to survive the disaster was released into the air and seas. He wondered what other creatures were out there.
He soon found that his arrows was not doing any good and tried to use the sword that he had been given. The creature snapped at him as he struck it about the head. He was having no luck doing that either it seemed. Then a though occured to him and he flew down to the deck of the ship and quickly went into the chart room and emerged with a lantern that was filled with a substance that burned. He again was in the air and hovering over the head of the monster. Opening the lantern, he flew in and poured it onto the face of the creature and then flew up and around, coming back down and throwing the lantern at it. The wick was still lit and as it broke the flame ignited the liquid and it burst into flames.
The creature screamed and its coiled body unwrapped from the ships as it screamed in pain again and dove under the water. It emerged again at a distance from the ships, screaming and roaring. Where its eyes had been, were now burned flesh and ruined eyes. It was blind and could not see.
"Quickly, while it is in pain and can not see, full sail so we can be away from here." Fallor called down. Jeb gave the order and his ship verred away and back on its course. The second ship put up what sails they could and moved away as well.

Re: Primal Instinct
Taigi had climbed up the mast beside one of the sails and helped to set the sails up swiftly so they could leave Nightmare watching below and gave a growl at the monster as if telling it to back off smiling to himself as they sped away with the strong winds back onto its planned course. Taigi jumped down rustling her hair feeling pretty useless at the moment and went to find something to do helping with odd jobs around the ship if she could after checking everyone was ok.
She helped the cook out with making the meals once more since he needed all the help he could get and a rather bitter Rich from earlier still walked around cursing under his breath at the earlier event with Abe and Taigi also he really didn’t like that wolf either. Later on she found Fallor since Nightmare wasn’t around she guessed the wolf was with him. “See he found you then” she smiled scratching the wolf’s head. “Who would’ve thought such a creature existed, I heard about hem in tales, my mother loved to tell of monsters and mythical beasts” she said smiling a little.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor continued to fly about the ship keeping an eye on the sea monster before it finally submerged again. He noticed a disturbance in the water where it had gone under. There were several dorsal fins that surrounded the area and soon there was a bloody stain that rose to the surface. It seemed the wounded and blind monster was now the meal for other predators of the ocean.
He returned to the ship once he was satisfied that there was no longer any danger. The second ship was moving along but slower, since there had been damage to the rigging of the ship. Jeb had the sails lowered so that the two ships could come along side. Nightmare had come up on deck without Taigi and found him and came up to him wagging his tail. Stroking his head and scratching him behind the ear, Fallor grinned and squatted down to give the wolf some affection. That is when Taigi came walking up. "Yes he has seemed to have formed an attachment to me as well." At the mention of the monster. "Yes I had no idea such creatures existed. I have seen some big creatures on land but nothing like that. I guess there are more things out there that we have no idea about."
As the ships came along side the crews tossed lines across to draw them together. The Captain of the second ship jumped up on the railing and swung aboard to Jeb's ship, clasping the right arm of Jeb. "My thanks Captain. We be doomed for sure if you had not showed up." he then turned to look in Fallor's direction. "Interesting crewman you have there. Wouldn't mind having one or two of his kind aboard." Jeb grinned and motioned for Taigi and Fallor to come over.

Re: Primal Instinct
Taigi looked out seeing the huge rose stain on the sky of the dark blue sea. She rustled her hair and nodded “appears so, you were the second other person he accepted after all so does make sense, wolves are pack animals after all” she said noticing the other ship was alongside their ship she raised her head to it noticing the wrecked sails and deck. “Hmm, maybe they have some information about other such creature in the city, you never know” she said to Fallor standing up after crouching down to kiss Nightmare’s nose softly telling him he did well before standing up. She soon helped the crew toss the lines across to draw the two ships together.
She could hear the two captains talking and a rather curious Nightmare went over before Taigi and Fallor were motioned over sniffing the new captain’s hands curious and licked at Jeb’s wagging his tail happily. Walking over she kept a hand on Nightmare’s back looking to Jeb and the other Captain wondering what was going on and looked back to Fallor a little as well. “Glad your ship is still intact anyway, never thought such things existed.” She said softly a little nervous around strangers still at least it wasn’t as bad as before.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor looked at the damage done to the other ship. It was considerable and the crew and captain were lucky to be alive. When Taigi spoke up, the other Captain shook his head. "Well there be more then just that thing out there. The Great Squid, now that monster has sunk many a ship and devoured their crews, he is one of the worst, but his territory is far to the south. Ships try to avoid that area as much as possible. Then there be the Leviation. The biggest monster any man has ever saw. He roams the ocean and no one knows where he might show up at."
Jeb also spoke. "After the Great Shake it seems many monsters have been created, or released perhaps from a great underground sea. There are those that think that."
The other captain looked down at Nightmare, "Now what do we have here?" he cocked his head to one side, "A tame wolf? Now that is not something you see everyday. Reminds me of stories my grandpa told me. Of animals called Dogs, before the plauge took such creatures from this world before the Great Shake." he smiled down at the wolf pup. "Well mannered to. You have trained him well Missy."
The crews of both ships began cutting away broken pieces of the other ship and mast. They would have to find an island or make it back to the mainland before they could find suitable materials to make a new one and enough wood to repair the damage to the deck and sides of the ship.
"We will keep a close watch on ye as we sail to Port." Jeb told the other captain. "No decent sailor would leave another out here in the condition your ship be in." The other captain nodded and thanked Jeb and then went back to his ship to oversea what repairs could be made.

Re: Primal Instinct
She listened to the two of them, soon wondering if sailing out here on the ships was even a good idea anymore. She guessed it was because they loved the sea or to travel and find new places, new people to trade materials with. Her mind raced to find images from books she had read over time. She snapped back into reality when he spoke about Nightmare and nodded “he was still a pup so it’s easier to train him, hoped he could help me hunt one day” she said they pup licking at her fingers smiling a little. “Thanks…” Once the crew members of each crew split up to their ships and the mast on the other ship had all of the broken pieces cut away. She had waited a little listening to the two before she headed back down to help the chef with the meals, enjoying cooking with new food and found some she liked as well.
Nightmare meanwhile found It interesting patrolling the ship late at night occasionally giving a snarl at Rich who didn’t seem at all happy… well ever. Taigi hadn’t seen Fallor much that day so instead went to find him “I haven’t seen you much all day, how have you been?… minus the giant snake attack” she said “I do wonder where such monsters came from, maybe they were trapped under ground for millions of years…What were those times called again… prehistoric… could be one of those strange creatures”

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor had gone off and been studing the charts and sextent and things with Captain Jeb. He wanted to lean fast and everything he could about navigation. He was picking it up quickly and when the time came he would teach others of his kind. They would not have to rely on others to sail the seas bringing trade to them, but would take trade to the mainland themselves. Some how he would arrange for a ship or two and then train crews for them. Perhaps even enlisting the aid of the humans from the village. They would benifit as well if they helped him.
When Taigi found him he grinned and shugged his shoulders. "One day my people and those of the village will benifit from learning all about sailing." he had no idea of the huge sea creatures, "Perhaps or when the big shake happened and the alteration material was released in the atmospher and ocean, it could have changed many creatures."
He looked at her, his eyes roving over her curves. Her leather garments were brief and exposed much. He wondered if she ever thought of being with a man, or in his case an avain male. He was human looking except his wings and bone structure. Thoughts began to enter his mind on what he would like to do to her.

Re: Primal Instinct
“Hmm possibly, I still think they are from long ago, makes a bit more sense to me, although the giant squid isn’t anything new that is actually an old species” she said, she noticed he appeared to be drifting into thoughts and snapped her fingers in front of his eyes frowning “Honestly, it’s rude to drift into thought when someone is speaking” she said to him. As for whether she had thought about such thing, she did at some point but such thoughts remained hidden in her mind, otherwise she was sure it would just end up with her embarrassing herself for nothing. Happened before, a few years back but, only got her heart broken, he left her for someone else not long after and she became his mate. She hated the memories.
“If they learn how to make the ships and to sail them properly then they could also start trading posts for other things and also help the current traders with transporting goods as well, it’ll be more convenient for both, they could even discover new places” she said her mind filled with the thoughts of exploring the forgotten world around them, she smiled at the thoughts “Travelling would be wonderful that’s for sure, wonder how many different places there are, and how many other different humans there are as well.” she smiled “I’m defiantly going to hide away on a ship if they won’t let me on board” she smiled joking around a little. Although she would and Nightmare would be hot on her heels as usual where ever she went. Smiling at the thought she had been learning a few things herself over time watching how they did certain things and picking them up while she helped around the ship.
Kicking her legs as she still sat on the bed the whole ship jerked suddenly and she heard shouting wondering what was happening she clicked ehr tounge and went up "Fallor, you coming?" she shouted back to him going to the deck she saw what looked like another one fo those monsters, although this one was a gaint squid its tenticals trying to break into the ship. She was just shocked by the sheer size of the creature and backed up a little seeing the snapping beak in the centre of its flaying strong tenticles that were trying to sink the ship. Wood could be heard snapping around them and she grew very cautious of that, it wasn't a good sign she sent Nightmare to collect her quiver and small dagger, retrieving them and coming back Nightmare whined and cowered behind her a little. This was not going to end well.

Re: Primal Instinct
Fallor didn't think that his people would be able to make the ships, not his generation anyways. Perhaps a few generations from his might be able to study and learn how to make them. For the time being, they would simply buy the ships and hire sailors to train those of his kind and the villagers that wanted to learn.
Later that day as Fallor flew above the ship. higher then the crows nest, he saw the large tenticales of the creature emerge from the water and wrap around the ship. The ocean was definately a dangerous place and he was begining to think of ways to protect the ship from such creatures that wanted to sink it. Large metal blades attached to the sides of the ship would be good against creatures trying to wrap themselves around it. They would cut into the creatures and make them think twice about trying to attack it again. The blades could be fixed so as to be laid against the ship when not on the ocean.
Those thoughts were pushed aside when he saw the creature. Already the crew were out with swords and axes, chopping at the tenticales. Some were knocked off their feet by them as they flailed about. One unfortunate crewman got wrapped in one. Sharp barb like things on the end of the tenticles and large suction cups tore into the mans flesh and he was pulled overboard and into the large mouth of the creature. The huge eyes looked around for others to grab as Fallor flew down firing his arrows at the creatures eyes.
Then he spotted yet another creature in the water. A large dorsal fin cleaved the water as it made its way to the giant squid. One predator after the other. It made Fallor smile a bit.
