Hexes looks at his son not even fazed by the change in him. He says, "Finally you figure out what happened to your precious angel. It's been 6 weeks. She has been going through all the tortures of Hell. Her blood has covered this entire room over ten times now." He grabs her by the hair. She glares at him weakly but does not make a sound. He licks the blood off her neck. "She is a strong one I will give her that. Has never let out a scream. Not even after a thousand demons took turns ravaging her body. But I must admit that I love it when I get a challenge."

Alexandra appeared next to Rhama and Hexes wrinkles his nose in frustration. He says, "I told you never to come back here. You can have your son but I will have my war. I will turn Raven into a demon after I use her renewed virgin blood to open the gate." Alexandra shakes her head. "I can't let you do that." She throws a dagger through Raven's chest. The dagger returns Raven to her physical body. Alexandra looks at Rhama and says to him before they too are sent back to earth, "I am proud of you for wanting face your father but you are not strong enough yet."

Raven wakes up from the sleep a few minutes after the two of them return. She looks at the two of them and tears stream down her face.

Rhama regarded his father with icy eyes and despite his mother's warning, he chose to remain behind.  He pointed the tip of his blade at Hexes.  "You and I need to have a conversation."  He told the man, "Up close and very personal."  He stepped forward and the rest of the demons disappeared.  They wanted nothing to do with this and understandably so.  Not a single one of them fancied their chances with Rhama.  They had been cautious of him before, but now, they really didn't want to upset him.....

Raven looked around for Rhama but after a few minutes she realized what he was doing. She gets up from the couch but falls to the floor. Alexandra helps her back up and says, “Rhama feels like he has to do this. You have to respect his decision.” Raven looks at her and says, “I can’t lose him. I won’t survive without him.” Alexandra strokes her back and says, “Then help him by reminding him what he is fighting for.” Raven uses the link to Rhama to send him images of her and him together.

Hexes looks at Rhama amused. “You angry over your angel? Not that long ago you liked causing people pain and liked hearing their pain. Have you forgotten everything you were taught?”

Strengthened by the link he shared with Raven, he lifted his head higher and stepped forward.  "Yes I did."  He admitted almost proudly.  "And I haven't forgotten anything that you taught me either."  Another step forward, "But it would appear I've learned something new.  A lot of something new actually."  He was closing the distance.  "You see, having something that means a lot to me in life has changed my perspective a little bit.  Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy the destruction and the chaos as I always have, but this time, it'll be at your throat instead of your feet."  The angelic magic coursing through him and the link with Raven made him see everything, far more than he could have imagined, but he knew it was taking its toll and so would Hexes.  It didn't stop him keeping it going though.  "You will never have my wife again, Father, and when I'm done, I will see the portals closed for eternity.  Someone told me once, that you were a good man, Father, that you had a soul and a heart to care and love and live beyond your own desires.  What happened?"

Raven got an idea and sits in the middle of the room. She sends her powers and strength to Rhama through the link. With his angel blood, he could use it.

Hexes stands up clearly getting angry. “I was once human yes, a good man and a good husband. Until a plague swept across the land and made my family sick. I prayed to our so called god to save them. However my family died and my rage and sadness consumed me. Your mother tried to console me but it was too late. In a matter of days I became a demon and was tossed into Hell.” He laughs some. “I made Hell my kingdom instead of falling into despair.”

"And in return, you waged war on Heaven itself for taking them from you."  Rhama said, finishing the torrent Hexes was bound to continue.  "But did you ever stop long enough to actually ask him why?"  The gap was closed and Hexes was within reach of his blade.  "Did you ever ask my mother?  Or was she just another pawn in your game?"......

Hexes looks at him and says for a moment his eyes turning kind and had love in them, “I used your mother yes but she was no pawn. Otherwise I would have killed her right after you were born. But instead I let her go.” His eyes turn cold. “There is no forgiveness for someone like me.” His body changes into a mutated looking dragon creature.

Raven says in Rhama’s head, “He loves your mother but maybe he wanted to make her hate him instead of risking having someone to lose all over again. It makes sense. He’s making himself and the world suffer because he blames himself for his family’s death. He wants to die. Maybe he can be saved.”

Rhama backed up as his father shifted form, but Raven's words sparked something in the back of his mind.  A long lost memory perhaps.  "There is always forgiveness."  He said carefully.  "Even for us.  You can't blame yourself for something you can't control, Hexes and whatever the plan was, you were meant to survive it.  Don't you see that?  You were given a second chance at something.  You said you could have killed Mother, but you let her go instead.  Doesn't that tell you something?  Father, listen to me!"

Hexes stopped as Rhama spoke. His breath was unsteady as though at any moment his lungs could give out. His eyes showed guilt, pain, and suffering. “I can never be forgiven…My human body and soul is no more.” From within the link Raven could see that Hexes was a man pained by regret. He did not want to take over the world; he had Rhama born so he could die. She was not going to let that happen. She focuses her energy and appears next to Rhama. “Hexes all my torture was an illusion to make him angry so he would kill you. Being lost in the darkness all this time has made you lose hope. You don’t need to do this.”

Rhama stood his ground and when he saw his father begin to falter, he felt he had his shot, but then Raven arrived and his chance was robbed.  Instead, he heard his lover say something that he was truly shocked to hear.  Hexes wanted to die by Rhama's hand.  He lowered his blade and stared at his father quizzically.  But hadn't that been his intention?  He'd come back to hell to kill Hexes for his war on Heaven and Earth.  And now he had his chance, so why didn't he take it?  When he looked again at Hexes, his eyes, he realised why he didn't do it......

Hexes sits on the floor his breath getting harder to get out. Raven takes steps toward him and puts her hands on his face. “Let the pain and grief go.” Tears were forming in his eyes. She looks at Rhama. “Rhama I need your help. We can save him but we have to get him to calm him down. Don’t you want to know you father? Your real father? He is just lost like you were when we found each other.”

[LadyRaven]

Rhama sheathed his sword and stepped forward as it seemed his father began to break down.  "What do you want me to do?"  he asked Raven carefully as he knelt down at her side and stared at his father.

Raven looks at Rhama and says, “This form is the result of his soul being lost in the darkness for so long. If we can purify his soul, he can turn to a more human form. He will always be a demon but it does not mean that he has to be a bad one. He could leave hell and be with you and your mother. But I cannot purify him alone. You must tap into your true angel side and help him come back to the light.” Hexes was still breaking down. After all that he had done, why help him? If he was saved, the demons would still be around to cause chaos

Rhama wasn't so sure he could do that.  It took all he had not to simply run the demon through with his blade, regardless if Hexes was his father or not.  In the end, he stepped back, feeling a hot tingle run through him.  It wasn't painful, but it wasn't comfortable either.  He knew what the tingle was, it was feeling of forgiveness.  Part of him wanted to forgive Hexes, but all his life, that had been something far beyond his reach and want.  Forgiveness was weakness.  It had been beaten into him since he was a child.  Stood before Hexes now and Raven, he found it hard to come to terms with and harder still to let the feeling grow in him.  There were a lot of things in Rhama that he didn't fully understand or trust and forgiveness was one of them.....

Raven looks at him with an understanding look. “Rhama it’s okay. It is okay to fear what you do not understand. You have learned so many things in such a short time. It is a lot to absorb. But you can do it if you want.” She could see he just wanted to run his sword through his father. But that was the demon nature talking and craving blood. But didn’t he want a life beyond death and blood? Could he be the better and stronger person?

Rhama didn't move as Raven tried to calm him.  He knew the right thing was to forgive him and move on with his life, but the years of training and abuse just didn't want to let go yet.  He stared at the broken demon, but then slowly stepped forward and put his hand on Raven's shoulder.  The only thing he could think to say was this, "Until he can forgive himself, I can't join him."  It wasn't perhaps what they wanted to hear, but underneath those words, the notion that just maybe he could forgive his father, was very present and real.  It was the best he could offer.....

Raven understood what he was saying. But everyone at least in the human world knew that the hardest thing in the world to do was to forgive oneself for their sins. She looks at Hexes. She says digging deep inside herself, "I cannot leave you in the dark anymore. Both of you deserve better." A white light surrounded her entire body the heat of the light would put Hellfire to shame. She touches the Dragon like body of Hexes make him scream in agony. But slowly his body became more human looking. When the light went away, Hexes stood up in awe. He says slowly, "How in the world could she possibly holden so much power?" Raven looks at them wobbling back and forth. "Can we go home now?"

Rhama turned his head away as Raven did her thing.  The light was blinding and he knew she would be severely weakened when it was all over.  As it faded and Hexes spoke to her in awe so to speak, Rhama picked Raven up into his arms and held her close.  She wanted to go home.  He nodded in agreement, "Absolutely."  He said with a kiss to her forehead.

After reaching the mirror that was his portal home again, Rhama stopped and faced Hexes for a moment.  "Her strength and power comes from her heart."  He said to his father, "She's given you a gift Hexes, I'd treasure it if I were you."  He turned back to the mirror and held Raven close as he stepped through...

Raven looks at the two boys. Although this is awkward for the both of them, she hoped that they would be able to move forward as a family. She slowly lifts her hand and strokes Rhama's cheek. "I am proud of you. You did not give into the darkness." As they went to through the portal she knew that Hexes was following behind them. She could not help but smile. He was just lost. Maybe now all of them could find their place in the world protecting it from evil.

Rhama wasn't exactly sure he liked Hexes following them into Earth, but he was sure that his father couldn't stay in Hell on his own either, at least for a while.  The demons there would now be tussling for power and that meant chaos on all fronts.  However, that cloud did have a silver lining.  Chaos downstairs meant quiet on Earth.  And quiet meant Raven had a chance to recover and he had a chance to make good his promise to her and to get to know his mother more.

Once back in the apartment, he set Raven down on the bed tenderly and covered her over with a blanket.  It seemed in their time in Hell, the season had turned and it was getting colder.  He spotted his mother making a pot of hot tea and he smiled almost distantly at her as he sat next to the bed to watch over his love.  He wouldn't leave her until she was fit and well enough to protect herself better.  As he made himself comfortable, he noticed Hexes staring around the apartment.

At first, he tried to ignore the demon, but it didn't take long for his lingering to get annoying.  "Hexes, there are more rooms you could wander."  He said with some irritation, "Or better yet, go reacquaint yourself with your former wife."  He nodded into the kitchen to his mother, "While I tend to my own."  he leaned forward and tenderly pushed aside a lock of her silken hair.....

Raven held onto him until they got back to the apartment. She let go when he laid her down in the bed. She was very weak but she did not want to sleep. Hexes looks at the two of them unsure what to say. Raven says softly to Rhama, “I think your dad is a bit nervous. It has been a long time since he has seen your mom. That is only natural and he is not sure what to do. Much like you and me from time to time.” Alexandra looks at Hexes and says to him, “Why don’t you help me prepare dinner?” He slowly nods and comes in the kitchen.

Rhama smiled down at Raven, but he wasn't convinced.  "There's a big difference."  He said quietly as he tucked the lock of her hair behind her ear.  "You and me don't have history and I certainly never raped you for an heir."  He leaned over and kissed her forehead tenderly.  "If we have children, I want your full consent first.  If I don't get it, then I back off, it's that simple.  Hexes set out deliberately to hurt Mom.  I never want to hurt you, ever, Raven."  He kissed her forehead again and then sat back to watch what was happening in the kitchen.....

Raven nodded at his point. They did not have bad history like his parents. But she also knew that his mother loved his father anyway. She loved him while he was human why not as a demon? "Sometimes you can't fight who you love. We tried that and we wer about to kill each other. I think it is the same to your mom and dad. They should hate each other but instead they love each other. Despite their past despite the pain."

In the kitchen dishes breaking could be heard. Alexandra's laughter could also be heard. Hexes was swearing at himself. Clearly it had been a while since he has been in the kitchen. but Alexandra didn't seem to mind.

Rhama was about to object and disagree with her, but then he heard a plate being smashed in the kitchen and his mother laughing.  He turned his head in time to see them both crouch down to pick up the pieces.  Then his mom suddenly stood up again, holding her hand and Hexes rushed to the sink, grabbing a towel and he wrapped it around her hand.  Rhama decided there was hope for the demon after all.  He smiled as he watched them reconnect and as they leaned in to each other to share a small kiss, Rhama turned his head back to Raven and smiled at her.  "Perhaps you're right after all."  He said.

Leaning in to kiss Raven, he found himself crawling onto the bed with her and he laid down next to her.  "There was something I wanted to ask you before you were dragged downstairs."  He said quietly.  He reached into his back pocket and retrieved the ring box.  "It isn't much really and I know it won't be easy and all, but..."  He flipped the box open and held it up slightly so Raven could see the small diamond solitaire ring inside.  "Raven, would you, I mean, will you...  Will you marry me?"...

Raven laughed as she can hear what is happening in the kitchen. Love has a funny way of happening in the weirdest places. She then watched as Rhama got in bed with her. "Love has a weird way of working out in the end. It's unpredictable and the strongest emotion anyone can feel. They just have to have the strength to follow it." Raven looked at the ring a moment her eyes wide with surprise. She kisses him deeply. "I think you already know the answer to that question. At least you should by now."
