Magnus didn't even look up. "At the Institute. Where he shall stay" he replied, his voice hard. He was sure even an idiot would be able to tell he was angry by this point. The whole matter hadn't even sunk in yet. He knew it would once he calmed down, whenver that was. He clenched his jaw and continued to glare at the ground, his arms crossed and his manicured nails digging into his skin. He just couldn't believe it. How could it be true? He clenched his jaw and pushed it out of his mind.

Jace didn't question Magnus, who looked ready to explode a box of kittens. "Sure, fine." No questions needed in case he were the figurative box of cats ready to be blown to bits by an angry warlock. "The tracking spell is leading us to Vermont. Somewhere in the mountains, I think." Magnus would be just as helpful as Alec could be when it came to getting Clary back. "Why is Alec there?" He wound up asking anyway.

Magnus nodded, his only acknowledgement that Jace had spoken. Vermont eh? Not bad. At the question he stiffened again and his furious glare snapped up to the blonde. "None of your business" he snarled, growling angrily afterwards. "I'd be perfectly happy to burn your hair off at the moment, so watch it". At this point he was serious. He really would, finding Clary or not. He would just love to watch the Shadowhunter scream in pain as his hair was burned right off.

None of his business? Why wouldn't it be his business? His Parabatai just got dragged off by a warlock who now insisted on replacing him. He wasn't given reason, just told to 'watch it.' Anyone else Jace would have teased even more, because it was funny to get stronger responses, but anyone else didn't have the ability to set his hair on fire as they wished. Magnus was looking pretty sadistic right now, and Jace wasn't going to try to cross him at the moment until he calmed down a little. He sat in silence with the warlock for a while.

Magnus was glad Jace didn't try to pry anymore. At least he had some sense. Although he was slightly tempted to tell Jace everything. Then they wouldn't have to hide anymore. That could be his little revenge. But at the same time he couldn't wrap his head around it enough to actually grasp what was going on. He let out a groan, putting one hand to his head. He didn't think he would ever have to deal with this. He was sure most of the Mundies were staring at him, and some had moved away, probably freaked out by the fact that he had come out of nowhere and dragged somebody else away, vanished, and came back. It was probably alot to handle for them.

Jace was bored and worried on the way to Vermont. Was Clary being controlled by his father, Valentine? It had to be. Maybe Valentine was controlling another mage to work with their heads and turn them on each other unwillingly. How long was it going to take to get to Vermont anyway? He hadn't thought that part through when he jumped out the window after Clary, dragging Alec behind. The silly Mundanes had moved away from them and looked at them as though they might just blow everything up on the spot. Or Magnus might, because he had been the one who had just dragged Alec through a portal. Jace was legit to affiliating with them though. "So..." he started quietly, ready to test his luck, "I'm guessing.....you and Alec are....close?"

Magnus sighed, cooling down after awhile. But he was a raw nerve. Anything could set him off at this point. He stiffened at the simple quiet 'so' from Jace, knowing something stupid or nosy was probably going to come out of his mouth. Sure enough, at this point, it was both. He should know better than to pry when he was pissed off. He looked up to the blonde Shadowhunter, narrowing his eyes in a glare and opening his mouth to shout at him again before closing it. Maybe he should tell Jace. It couldn't go badly for him really. He might feel a little guilty when he saw Alec's face when he found out, but it would be worth it. Besides, he would have to know soon. And this could be his little revenge, as childish as it was. They wouldn't have to hide anymore anyways. A grin found it's way onto his face, and he was sure it was a slightly creepy, sadistic looking grin. His revenge was here. "Close is a rather large understatement" he replied, lifting his chin slightly, as if daring Jace to think anything bad of it.

The expression Magnus held on his face was just a bit similar to the look Valentine had on his when he killed things. Magnus looked ready to kill Jace, actually. He looked satisfied and yet insatiable at the same time. "An understatement? Like....me and Clary close?" Jace always knew something was up with Magnus and Alec. They'd always just 'happen' to be in the same room, or when they needed Magnus Alec had him on his speed dial right away. Too convenient for coincidence. The warlock appeared to be daring him to ask more, though if that was good or bad, Jace couldn't quite tell at the moment. "What would you define as close, for you two then?" he asked, suspecting enough already.

Magnus grinned wider as Jace worked it out verbally. "Hmm, maybe a bit closer than that. Let's see. . . . do you want to know the reason I dragged Alec back?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. There was no way he was stopping now. Alec was going to have to deal with it. There was no problem with him admitting it, since it wouldn't be long before he found out anyways. He didn't care if this wasn't the ideal way for Alec's best friend to find out, but he really couldn't care less at the moment. Plus the fact that he severely disliked Jace.

Jace had a couple ideas why Magnus might drag Alec back. "Because maybe you're over protective or something, I don't know." Magnus probably was anyway, even if that wasn't the real reason. If that was the case then he would have prevented Alec from going anywhere, but he had done a good job of keeping that secret too from them. Did anyone else know? Maybe Isabelle, because she was his sister, so she must have known something, or gotten better hints.

Magnus snickered slightly. "Well that's only part of it. The main reason, and also the reason I'm in a bad mood, since he neglected to tell me. Isabelle had to do it for him, but anyways. The reason I dragged him back so forcefully is that he's carrying my child. How close is that for you?" he asked, smirking slightly. He had to admit, this was fun. Alec wouldn't be happy when he found out. And right now, that was the main thing. He wasn't going to let this go very easily.

It took a moment to catch that last part of Magnus' sentence. Jace did a double take on it. "Uh....what?" He cleaned his ears out with his pinky. "Did I mishear something or what? Did you just say Alec's carrying your kid, as in, he's pregnant, as in, you knocked him up?" Men didn't get pregnant, as far as Jace knew. Hodge taught them in sex ed, and even though Jace and Alec had had plenty of giggle fits during that, he knew the basics of what the genders could and could not do.

Magnus was sure Jace hadn't really understood what he said, which was confirmed by his actions. "No, you heard me quite correctly" he said, looking up at the ceiling. "In case you've forgotten, I'm a Warlock. Sure, this is probably a first time thing, but my guess is the Warlock and Shadowhunter DNA mixing. But your best friend just happens to be pregnant, yes. So I'm not risking him and my child out here doing something stupid" he explained. He had no idea how many people were listening to them. By this point they probably figured it was a movie or something.

This was beyond weird, and the last thing Jace had ever expected to happen in his life, not that the situation at hand was very far behind. "Um....okay...." he said. "I think that's very odd, but you're the magician, so I won't doubt you." Jace put some more thought into this. "How long has it been going on? Uhh, the relationship and the pregnancy thing." Did he want to know? It wasn't his business, and it wasn't much to tease Alec with if he kept it a secret this long. He'd probably be mortified when he found out Jace now knew.

Magnus laughed, shaking his head. Odd was an understatement. It was a first he had ever heard of. For all he knew Alec was the first pregnant male in history. Who knew what would happen when people found out. He felt a flare of possesiveness as he thought of the Clave, who would probably want posession of his child or something. He wouldn't allow it. Who knew what it would be either? A warlock and Shadowhunter combined. It would be unique, that was all he knew. "Hmm, it's been going on for a while now. . . five, six months? He's been pregnant for about three by now" he said, shrugging. He was guessing by this point, since he wasn't quite sure, since nobody found it necessary to inform him.

"So you've only been dating for five or six months, and you already went at it?" Sounded a little soon for having sex, but then again, this was Shadowhunter terms. Soon was usually never soon enough when they could die any day. "You call that a while though, huh? Do you warlocks stay with people very long, or is five months a long time for you?" Long enough to have at it with a much younger partner, apparently. Alec must have been consensual to it though, so maybe he didn't care. "You guys probably feel pretty strongly about each other then, yeah?"

Magnus raised an eyebrow at the question, which sounded more of an accusation to him. "Well excuse me, it seemed long enough for Alec, and you of all people should know how shy he is. He wouldn't be one to do it unless he felt comfortable, which takes alot of time. I would know" he sighed, his anger building again. "'Us Warlocks' stay with people longer than you humans do. We live longer, so time seems shorter to us. I'm over eight hundred years old. Five months is nothing" he narrowed his eyes. "I don't see how that is any of your business, or any of this at all really, but yes, we do" he crossed his arms, glaring at Jace.

Of course Jace knew how shy Alec was, but he never called it being shy. He called it being weak, or simple, or whatever, and Alec knew he called it that, so basically Jace was the one who lowered his self esteem. "You're pretty old. Does that make you a pedophile with Alec then? He's not nineteen yet. Isn't the rule like, over eighteen?" Did the Clave have a Law like that? "I think the Clave also has laws about being with downworlders and getting knocked up by them, but what do I know? Had the Clave ever experienced this kind of thing?

Magnus raised an eyebrow. "The rule is over sixteen, actually. So no, it doesn't make me a pedophile. I don't touch little boys. Plus, do I look like I'm old? I don't look eight hundred, so it's fine" he shrugged. He had thought about that a few times, but it honestly didn't bother him. They loved each other, it was as simple as that. The fact that they were both hot was just a bonus. "Does it look like I give a damn what the Clave thinks? Never stopped me before. You sound so supportive of our relationship. You know it would break Alec's heart to hear how you think about this. Now shut it before I cut your fingers off" he said, shaking back some of his spiked hair.

Well, he didn't look old, and he didn't act old. Magnus was pretty up to date with the century, unlike Alec. What would the Clave do with their kid when it was born? Experiment on it, maybe? They might test if it can hold marks when old enough, and see if it can do magic and junk. It would be half angel-human half demon, wouldn't it? Alec would be upset with how he was talking about their relationship, but he wouldn't do anything about it or say anything on it. Jace had a headache right now, and he was also in fear of his fingers, which he didn't doubt Magnus to do as well. Jace groaned, head in his hands, rubbing his temples. He was bored, and annoyed. Magnus was more boring than Alec because he could actually threaten him.

Magnus sighed, letting his head fall back. It pissed him off, the way Jace was talking about this. He expected more support from Alec's best friend. He hoped it would never reach his boyfriend's ears, as much as he was mad at him right now. He still didn't want to hurt him or something. He was nursing a headache as well, his long fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. He looked out the window and sighed, wondering how much longer a trip they were looking at, and where the hell they were. "You know I can just portal us to Vermont" he muttered, sending a sideways glance at Jace. He really didn't want to have to deal with him for any longer than he had to.

Jace looked up, typical of Magnus to say something like that after they were both tired from yelling at each other. Jace waved his hand tiredly, "Yeah, sure, go ahead. You track her instead and portal us there or something." He handed Magnus the colored pencil he'd been using to track his crazy sister so Magnus could track her instead and see where they were going. This would be easy, wouldn't it? Knock Clary out and go back to the Institute via portal.

Magnus said nothing, simply taking the pencil and using the tracking spell, no runes necessary. He could see her clearly in his mind, her red hair seemingly a mess, and a crazed look on her face. He snickered slightly, finding it a strange look on her. "Alright, I've found her" he said, looking around at the Mundies for a moment before shrugging and opening a portal. He motioned his head towards it and walked through, taking in his surroundings for a moment before focusing on Clary. It shouldn't be too hard to knock her out. Especially since he could make people drop unconcious without lifting a finger. But he was getting slightly tired from making three portals already today. Or within the last hour.

Walking into the portal that Magnus had created, Jace had Clary on his mind on how they were saving her. Magnus was the High Warlock so opening three portals in the last hour or so should have been easy, but how many more portals could he make? Enough to get there, to Clary, and then the possible magic he'd have to use to knock her out and who ever was controlling her, and then another portal back to the Institute? Was he charging them for this too? Maybe if Alec came along he might not, but well, as he'd been informed Alec was on a sort of Magnus-proclaimed maternity leave.

Magnus lifted his chin. Now what, just knock Clary out? It was fine with him, and simple enough. He lifted his hand and she dropped to the ground. Insane or not, he had successfully knocked her out, which didn't surprise him. "Alright. She's out. Grab her and let's go back to the Institute. Unless we need to take out someone else here. . . but I think she hasn't quite made it to her destination yet" he said, waving a hand and turning his back to Jace. The portal that they had just come through was gone, since he was smart enough to close it. Who knew what some stupid 'brave' Mundanes would do?
