"It's not. It might be a bit boring for you, and we'll need somebody to watch Skylar, but other than that just find a book or something on TV to watch" Magnus was fairly sure it would go well, but he had never done the spell before for obvious reasons, so he didn't know how it would proceed much. "It shouldn't hurt at all. You probably won't feel much until the last ten minutes or so, and you'll get a bit light headed, maybe black out, but you'll be fine" he said, knowing that if anything went wrong he could probably fix it with another spell.

"That doesn't sound that bad," Alec waved at the question, since blacking out and a bit of lightheadedness as cake to handle. Nausea was easy enough to deal with too. Shadowhunters took colds and the flu fairly well. Sometimes not the flu, but other pain and junk could be handled with stride. Things like broken legs or ribs were stubbornly ignored, and equally stubbornly fought back to hold them down. A little bit of that was cake compared to what else they had to deal with on a daily basis, or close to. They couldn't let minor junk bother them when they would all most likely die in the worst, most painful way possible.

"Exactly. I'm sure you can handle it, if you can handle getting huge gashes and then hiding them from me" Magnus narrowed his eyes at the last bit, his tone reproachful. He wished Alec would stop thinking it would bother him to have to heal him. He was more than happy to fix things than an iratze couldn't. "I swear you're some kind of masochist sometimes" he sighed, shaking his head. During sex, that could be partly true, as well as with his profession, so he wondered if Alec really was one. It wouldn't surprise him. Most Shadowhunters probably were.

"I try not to be," Alec excused, "I don't enjoy pain. I think Jace did, but I don't love it." Shadowhunters didn't like it, but they got used to it. They experienced more than the average human, and sometimes downworlder. The ones who didn't mess around with their weaknesses. They became accustomed to levels of it, beginning at level 1, which was bearable. Their level 1 was a different level than a human's idea of level 1. Human to Shadowhunter scale theirs might say 3 or 4 ish. "You're some form of masochist yourself. You like it when your hair is pulled." Hair fetish much?

Jace probably loved the pain, but now they would never know. It could only be assumed, which Magnus was glad of, though he would never admit that. He had a feeling that Alec would not be amused in the slightest that he was glad that Jace was dead. He still felt jealous almost every time Alec spoke of him, even though he knew there was no chance of his lover leaving him for the stupid blonde anymore. "That's not masochism. Fetishes are completely different. Sex has it's own rules" he smirked slightly, liking those rules the best.

"Err, does it work that way?" Alec asked, "'cause Isabelle told me fetishes were creepy, and pain is pain anyway." Where had he heard again that it wasn't rape if you were married? Now that didn't work like that. There were things that didn't work ways, no matter how they were said. Usually the fair-is-fair rule kicked in, but still. "Why does sex have rules?" He hadn't heard of tehse rules, unless of course Magnus had made them up on his own. He did that quite often.

"Fetishes aren't creepy" Magnus scoffed, wondering where Isabelle would have gotten that from. Sure, maybe some of them could be, but others were hot. He'd been told he had a glitter fetish many times. "Well, they're unspoken rules, that are more assumed than anything. Like the fact that talking dirty is pretty much a necissity, foreplay isn't required, you don't HAVE to love somebody to have sex with them" he listed a few off the top of his head as examples. There were more, but he didn't feel like thinking about any more at the moment, unless Alec wanted him to.

"I guess. I know some are weird, and there's loads I don't understand, but to each his own," Alec said with a shrug. He couldn't influence anyone's opinion, there was no point in arguing. "Unspoken rules that everyone has to know?" he asked, because he hadn't known about them. He just followed instinct, or whatever the action was leading him to do. He went with what he felt went next, or just went by reaction. Life had so many complicated rules to it, and Alec always had a hard time following those rules, because he rarely knew them.

"Some are a bit. . . odd, I admit. But generally they can be pretty nice. And can work out to my advantage" Magnus shrugged. That didn't apply to him as much anymore since he wasn't playing the field like he used to, but if Alec figured out some kind of fetish, he could easily use it against him. "Everyone doesn't have to know the rules, but most probably do. You probably know most of them. They're just common sense" he explained. They still counted as rules though. He knew Alec didn't generally get things, being a bit oblivious to everything, but it was rather adorable when he just didn't get something, even if it was exasperating.

"Is it fun to do that?" he inquired, wondering if someone who wasn't a fan of the fetish had fun with the fetish using it against the other person. Something like...what had Izzy said? A rope fetish? Did the person who didn't enjoy it like that like it during the sex? "Umm, if you say so." He apparently knew the rules and didn't know right now that he knew them. If they were common sense, then he probably did know them. Magnus must have gotten annoyed once in a while, or every other time maybe, when Alec didn't understand something. He didn't complain, he'd just laugh and explain it a few times.

"It can be. Depending on the fetish. I've had people say that pulling my hair makes it fun to see my expression" Magnus shrugged, not sure if Alec would get offended with him talking about previous partners or not. He avoided the subject as best as possible most of the time. He knew it didn't matter if Alec knew the rules or not, since he obviously got it well enough. Magnus knew when somebody was and wasn't good in bed, and Alec was definitely great. He didn't even need to know the rules if he was like that.

Other people seeing his expressions, Alec wasn't surprised, and not overly upset about it. Magnus knew a lot about sex, partners, everything, so he wasn't shocked about Magnus being with loads of other people. It was just something he accepted when he was getting to know him. Even now, he knew it was something there was no point in whining about because the past was the past, and as long as Magnus didn't move to other people while they were together, he was okay on the terms that Magnus had other people he'd been with. "Hmm, your expression is nice when I pull your hair. It's like you've become vulnerable from your usual confidence."

Magnus was glad to see that Alec wasn't upset about this or anything. It was something he couldn't change, but he would make sure not to do in the future, and that was all he could do about it. He let a grin grace his features when Alec spoke. "So I've heard. But darling, that's the only time you'll be seeing that" he said, sure of himself. He couldn't even think of another situation that would make him use that expression. He wasn't sure he wanted to know of one anyways.

"What, pulling your hair is the only time I'll see it? I doubt that," Alec told him, since he knew just one day he'd be topping. At least once, he wanted to try. In the life of immorality, he didn't think he'd be topping only once. He'd get braver, and smarter at this thing, and he'd be able to make Magnus as satisfied as Magnus made him feel. He felt that unless he really studied how to be top, then he'd have Magnus coaching him through the parts that stumped him or something.

"Even while being topped, I don't look vulnerable. I look sexy. There can be a difference, sometimes" Magnus said, almost reading Alec's mind on that one. He only knew these things from what people had told him, not exactly paying too much attention to his own expressions and reactions during sex. It was all about the other person. He knew Alec would top him eventually, and that would be the first time in a loong time, but he would know what to do, no matter how long it had been. It wasn't very complicated to be the bottom.

"You always look sexy," Alec said, "but maybe I'll spot the difference one day. I'll figure out how to make you look more vulnerable some time." Shadowhunters rarely went back on their word. He'd try, certainly, and even if he didn't succeed, he'd still tried. He hoped to get something out of Magnus when the time came, but if nothing, then that was fine too. He would do his best to find Magnus at a vulnerable state, and he'd enjoy it, knowing he'd been the one to make him to that point. Just like being the one to make Magnus climax, or Magnus making him climax, was special, seeing him in all of his ways was something to be proud of.

"Is that a promise?" Magnus asked, loving the way Alec said that. Even if he knew his fiance thought he was attractive, it was nice to hear him actually say it. He was sure he told Alec at least ten times a day how gorgeous he was. At least. He just loved telling him that, and seeing the reactions he would get. Either smiles, blushes, denial, loopholes in his words, or all four. It was always interesting, but the blush was generally stuck in all of the other three anyways though. Pink was a normal colour in Alec's face it seemed, where it was rarely ever seen in his. The only flush he got was from exertion.

"Umm, it might be. It's a definite 'hopefully' though, that's all I can say for sure," he said, blushing lightly. Did Magnus ever blush? The only time red or pink was on Magnus' face was when they were done with a strenuous activity, or when he was wearing that make up that he said was good to bring color to his face. Magnus was dark enough, he didn't need color in his face. Magnus looked like he'd stepped out of a tanning salon without having the orange tint that the people or TangerineLand came out with. Alec was pale most of the year, and burned easy. He stayed out of the sun for that reason, also giving him another reason he didn't have much color on him.

Magnus laughed at the blush, loving his awkward Alec found it to talk about these things, which he used in every day conversations. It was quite amusing to talk to his lover like this. "Hmm. Well you'll have plenty of time to try. Better start soon. It's going to take a while, sweet cheeks" he tilted his chin up confidently. The last time he had blushed because he was embarassed or pleased or something was probably a good 700 years ago. He had gotten past being embarassed a long time ago, and didn't plan on going back.

"Uh...yeah, okay," Alec answered, not sure how to respond to sex questions anymore. He tried to make the flush in his face go away. Unfortunately if he could will it away with his mind every time it happened, it wouldn't be happening in the first place. At least Skylar didn't understand anything right now. They'd have to one day worry about what he said around others. Well, Alec might. Magnus would probably encourage Skylar to say anything and everything.

Magnus ran his fingers through Alec's hair, grinning at how embarassed he was getting at the simple statements. "You know sometimes I say things just to get you to blush. Gawd you're adorable" he sighed in a happy manor. He knew eventually he was going to have to watch what he said around Skylar, but for now it would be fine, their baby only being 3 months old, and comprehended nothing. Babies couldn't understand until three, maybe four years of age. It could be convenient for him.

"I know you do," Alec replied, "I had to figure it eventually." Magnus had to know what made him blush, so he would either avoid it or make it happen as often as he could. Magnus taking the latter had Alec figure out, and there was no way to avoid it unless he just steeled himself up and didn't let it embarrass him anymore. Much easier said than done. For Alec, anyway. Everything was much easier said than done because he almost always never knew how to do it. That part was sort of important in changing how you were.

"Yeah, I should have guessed you would have. I make it a bit obvious don't I?" Magnus raised an eyebrow. Isabelle probably knew this already. Hell, Maryse probably knew. And that didn't bother him at all. He would be fine doing a lot in front of Alec's parents, screw what they thought. Anything that included actually removing clothing he wouldn't do though. That was for him, and only him, to see. "Ah well. What time is it?" he asked, surpressing a yawn. He wasn't used to being up this early, even if he was wide awake.

"It is a bit obvious sometimes." Correction, most of the time. Alec didn't really mind, but it was embarrassing to be flushed red all the time for something Magnus said or did. He was mostly all right with Magnus touching him in public, as long as it was above the waist. Full blown making out was kind of a no for Alec in public, especially if his parents were around. "Uhh, it's a little past nine," Alec answered, looking at the clock. "We've got a bit still. I wonder what we should do now..." Any other time they had free time, Magnus would suggesting bedding it, but Skylar wouldn't like the noise unless Magnus could keep Alec quiet.

Magnus loved to flaunt Alec in public, even if his lover wouldn't let him do too much, for fear of judgement, most likely. It could be slightly irritating sometimes, but he got over it. "Nine? Okay. We could. . . watch Christmas Specials?" he grinned, waiting for Alec's input on this. He enjoyed watching the classics that were probably forty years old now, and just seemed to be so entertaining. Sure, maybe that was just him drunk and finding anything interesting after his friends dropped him off at home, but he was sure they would be just fine while sober.
