Cale turned to her and winked. "Just teasing. I have one. Sort of small, but it works. usually I'm out here alone"
He wasted no time in thrusting a stake into the ground, switching Mayhem's bridle for his halter, and tying him to the stake before unloading the reliable stallion. "I have extra provisions, extra blankets, and a flare gun if anything goes wrong. also, a first aid and survival kit."
....Clearly, the man was well used to and quite comfortable with himself on the trails.
“Also, that cliff down there—” he pointed to a rocky outcrop almost devoid of trees, and well lit by the western sun. “—is a good place to see the wolves. Saw five or six of them down there once. There‘s a big black one with them too.”
He went to work checking May’s hooves and whatnot while it was still daylight, lifting each of his hooves. Cale took out his pocket knife, flicked open one of the blades, and began to scraped the dirt clod that had collected in them.
“How about you get the tent started? I’ll help as soon as I’m done with him.”

she rolled her eyes at his teasing, though enjoyed it as she too got off Triton and unpacked him, setting things down. hearing the things he had packed she shook her head and smiled.'' boy do you come prepared''she liked that though. anyone who didn't come prepared where most likely idiots. or used to doing things the hard way.She unsaddled Triton and, once finding his halter, switched the bridal out with that before patting his neck. '' alright, i i will leave you to the horses."
She glanced to the area where he pointed at and spoke of the wolves being there,, definitely was a good clearing for some. '' big black one huh. nice. '' Getting to work she took her time in finding the tent, then found the smoothest part of the ground to unroll it out on. she was quick to put the poles together, which with the tent being small helped with that. then drove the stakes in to anchor the tent before putting the last bit of it up. She triple checked the stakes and ties to make sure they where done firmly and correctly , not wanting the tent to suddenly collapse or such.
Once the tent was done she found a good spot for the camp fire, clearing it out of all debri and such to keep an outbreak of fire's from happening she dug in the pack before finding a small little shovel and dug a hole, not too deep, just enough to keep the ashe's from spreading and once they leave she could just push the dirt on over it and cover the hole right back up. All in all it didn't take her that long to get things set, she was clearly used to working fast. stretching she put the things back before looking over at him. '' horses all set?.. heh i think i worked up a bit of an appetite.. '' more then one actually but i am not about to tell him that. smiled, looking him over, she definitely enjoyed watching him work and hoped there would be many times she could watch him like this. '' anything else that needs done?"

Cale went to work on both of his stallions, putting his knife to good use. He checked thier hooves, scraping them out accordingly, then ran thier tail hairs betweenhis thumb and the blade, pulling out any burs, twigs, or similar intrusions between the silky strands.
This, of course, was the..... elven way to do this. Yet another one of the secrets of his other life, he was part elf, and no commoner either. Of course, this elven blood had been the reason he'd inherited such extreme sex appeal--the only other creatures with those sorts of inhereit good looks were angels and fox spirits--and the only reason his eyes were still intact and vision perfect after the heat of the fire that had killed Nathan and changes his eye color. It also gave root to the elven lullaby he hummed as he worked over the spirited stallions. A sweet, flowing, hypnotic melody that in his velvety baritone was almost seductive.
He groomed the brothers' manes the same way he hade thier tails, then brushed them both and checked their skin for cuts before he gave each a rub down with a special lotion--his own concotion--that warmed and relaxed sore muscles, kept the skin warm for a couple hours after it soaked in, and kept thier coats so brilliant and smooth.
The studs practically groaned in relaxation.
He covered them with blankets, then put a feed sack on each one's head.
Finally finished, his prize stallions content and crunching down on the grasses he'd cut for them, Cale turned to his companion, and smiled. "Well, by the time I'm done you're already relaxing. Shame on me." he teased.
"I suppose the only thing we need now is kindling." He eyed the rocky outcrop he'd mentioned earlier. "I'll go and get some while the sun's still up--since dead growth is plentiful but hard to see at night."

She spent the rest of the time that he had been working on the horses, by sitting down and leaning against the saddle she took off Triton. she enjoyed watching him work. the loving caress's he gave to the hroses when he rubbed them down with lotion's just gave her more of an idea on how he really cares for his animals. which was a good thing. And when he started to hum some sort of melody that was sweet and lulling she closed her eyes and slowly relaxed even more to it. enjoying the sound of his voice.
His voice in itself was very seductive and she enjoyed listening to him when he talked, now as he hummed that melody she was falling in love with his voice.. When he stopped and finally spoke she jerked slightly and opened her eyes, flushing brightly at being caught unawares.. '' ohhh . kindling right... oh ok i will stay here and keep an eye on things. heh just don't get lost on me..'' teased. sticking her tongue out as she ignored her red cheeks. '' mmm hope you brought marshmellows and stuff for smores.. thats one of my favorite camp fire snacks. ''

((short post--gotta go to work))
Cale winked and grinned. "Trust me, I only get lost when I want to be lost."
And so, the alluring cowboy set off into the trees. When he was a fair distance from the camp, he checked to make sure she couldn't see him, and then shifted into his other form, the great black wolf whome had saved him many times in his chaotic past. Making sure once again that she hadn't seen him, Cale set off at a lope, then a run. If this was going to work, he needed to be on the outsrop before the light vanished.
But a wolf's body is much stronger and faster than a human's, and sure enough he made it to the edge of the clearing, and as he looked, he could see her and the horses and the tent easily. He took a deep breath, then stepped out into view, watching the campsite.

Re: Rebellion (( Mature, Male, R. reserved for Scy))
she shook her head smiling as she watched him leave, once he was out of sight she got up and moved things around, whatever sleeping things they had she placed in the tent. she was keeping herself busy, even while she went back on how she saw him taking care of the horses, it was strange..but very attentive.. which made her wonder if it was a new method he was using for the horses.
Shaking her head she took her time in getting things situated before she went to the ridge and sat down, just enjoying the sight of the sun sinking over the horizon, she was enjoying it and was fixing to get up when something black caught the edge of her eyesight. frowning she looked back, first glance she thought it was a large dog, but then she remembered what Cale said about a black wolf roaming these parts with his pack, holding her breath she watched the wolf, excitement was already building up as she held still. wolves tend to chase things that run. '' damn... just my luck cale ain't here '' sighed, keeping her eyes on the wolf. wondering how close they usually get to humans since Wolves where naturally curious.

Re: Rebellion (( Mature, Male, R. reserved for Scy))
Cale played the part well. He paced around a bit, watching the camp. He gave a large yawn, and even sat down, ears flicking back and forth. He pretended to listen off in the distance, then, figuring 'what the hell?', because if he was doing this, he'd go all the way. He stood up again, then lifted his head in a heart wrenching howl, as though crying for a lost love.
The sound echoed a little of his human baritone, and bounced off of the cliffs and stones.
He paused a moment, then sounded off again, longer, but lower, until the air left his lungs. He flicked is ears some more, then looked up at the camp again, and then turned around and padded softly at the tree line, paused and looked around, then vanished into the inky blackness between the trees.
Once away from the outcrop, Cale made another dash for it, quickly getting to a more reasonable distance to the camp before shifting forms again, and gathering deadwood for the fire as if nothing had happened.
Just as the last few stains of pale yellow were leaving the sky, he came back into the camp, announcing himself by clearing his throat so he didn't startle her.
"Still here?"

Re: Rebellion (( Mature, Male, R. reserved for Scy))
she held her breath, watching the black wolf be lazy and move about, which to her was a normal wolf behavior. though when he lifted his lovely head and let his beautiful voice fill the air with his howl she wished she had her recorder, it nearly made her cry with how lonely the howl sounded, she wondered where his mate was or what happened to her..
sighing she watched the lovely male disappear into the woods.. '' such a sight.. damn where the hell is cale?" glanced around before sighing, looking back to the spot she saw the wolf leave at. hoping he would come back. after a while she heard CAle's throat clearing , which made her turn and look to him'' mm ?.. yea i am still here heh , what you expected me to run off on you ?"

Cale shook his pretty head, smiling. "I figured you would have gotten tired of waiting for me, and started the fire yourself. Had to go halfway up the mountain to find deadwood. Not that that's a bad thing--means the woods are healthy."
He set the branches down, then circled a ring of stones around her pit. He stacked small kindling into the pit first--dry grasses and small twigs. Then from an unseen pocket in the saddlebag--Mayhem's saddle lay on the ground behind him--he produced two chipped, used-looking stone that were jet black.
He struck the flintstones together, two, then three times before a spark caught the kindling, and began to grow. Slowly, he began to feed the flame, growing it into a mature fire in about fifteen minutes.
Then he hefted a larger branch into the flames, and laid back against his saddle, grey eyes gazing into the flames as their unearthly light danced across his flesh beautifully.
"...To answer your earlier question, the makings for s'mores are in your saddlebag, along with the other essentials we'll need to eat tomorrow morning."
As he said this, though, his mind wasn't on s'mores, or food, or even on her. It wasn't even in the present.
It was back in a time years ago, remembering a very different fire; the one that had been the end of Nathan, the one that had melted the pigments of his eyes from pristine blue to thier haunting grey. It was the fire that taught him, the very hard way, that he was not all powerful.
.....It had started as just another night. Then, from the gathering storm, a lightning bolt of massive intensity struck the lightning rod of a downtown office building. The rod had burst apart, and the bolt hit the building. The flames had leapt into roaring life in moments, and even the heavy downpour that opened up during the fire couldn't hinder its progress. The pack had been Kyle's then, not Cale's. They had gone in to save the survivors, most of them unconcious by then. They'd all been in wolf form--lower to the ground and less vulnerable to inhaling the smoke.
They'd beleived they's gotten everyone out, but Nathan had felt that there was someone else, so against Kyle's orders he had gone back in. Cale went in after him.
On the eighth and topmost floor, Cale had found his friend, pulling a little boy from beneath the desk he'd sheltored under before losing conciousness.
"Nathan! Let's get out of here!" Cale had called, rushing to help him.
Nathan had heard the groaning crack before Cale had, and shoved him to one side of the room before beams, insulation, and other componants of the cieling crashed down between them. The place they'd been moving only moments before was now a raging inferno that cut off Nathan's escape route.
Cale had run across to the white hot blaze, and tried to claw through it, his paws blistering over and over until Nathan... Nathan had tossed the poor boy's body through the only gap available, instructing Cale to take him out and save himself.
There had been an argument, but it took Kyle appearing to drag Cale away--just as Nathan had tried to jump through the gap himself--only to be crushed underneith the cracking cileing as it fell.
Cale had howled in agony, but Kyle was persistent, and continued to pull him and the boy away, until another portion of the cieling destroyed the door leading to the stairwell. Kyle had already gone through it.
Cale, still crying in despair and dragging the boy to safety, suddenly regained his senses as his self-preservitive instincts kicked in. He'd been left with only one option, and he took it.
Leaping through a wall of flame, the boy's burned shirt in his jaws, Cale had soared out of the window.
the glass had already been burst out by the heat, and so only the flames had stood in his way. That was when his eyes had been damaged.
He and the boy fell eight stories, and the only thing that saved the both of them was a tree. They crashed through the branches, taking away some of the momentum of the fall. The hedges had broken most of it then, until finally on the manicured lawn both had come to a rolling halt.
Kyle and the others found them later, only to find a very sick and shivering Cale, his fur and paws burned, unable to open his eyes.
But both of them had survived. Thanks to Nathan, only one life had been claimed by the flames that night: his own.
Cale sighed, the memory so vivid in his mind's eye. It took a snort from one of the horses to bring him back to reality, and he even jerked a little at the sound.

She watched him create the fire before arching a brow as he answered her question about smore's. smiling she got up and dug through her saddle before finding them'' ah hah!.. yum. can't wait. '' sitting back down she picked up a stick, using a small pocket knife to chip away at the bark to make it into a clean point to put her marshmallow on, glancing up ever now and then she knew the moment he seemed to have zoned out, his eyes dilated a little, strange color they where.. she stopped what she was doing and watched the light dance over the color of his eyes.
It was nearly mesmerizing to watch, after a while she watched him jerk suddenly at the sound of one of the horses, smiling slightly she looked down and placed a marshmellow on her stick and held it towards the fire, slowly toasting it.. '' you alright over there cowboy?.. seems like you went somewhere else there for a moment.. '' looked up at him as she leaned against her saddle, she actually enjoyed the color of his eyes, they where unusual but gorgeous at the same time.. '' tell me something cowboy.. why are your eyes that color?.. i have never seen it before and well.. frankly its a lovely shade. ''

Those haunting eyes of his flicked up then, and he knew he'd been caught. He sighed, wondering how much of the story he could get away with telling, and began.
"...Alright.... Do you remember, years ago, the massive fire that destroyed the Dean McMillian building downtown? We were still in high school then. I had only been here a few months, six or seven actually.
"....My friends and I were in the area, spending a night out."
Actually, the whole pack of sixteen had been there, but only because the remaining members had been called as the severity of the inferno had increased. The core group, however, Kyle, Drachen, Cale, Lance, Ashlei, Terri.... and Nathan.... they had been there when it started, on patrol.
"We were out to dinner and a movie, and were on our way to our rides when the storm burst open and the bolt hit the lightning rod.
"....we were... the only ones around, so we went inside to help get everyone out....."
And so, he told her the story, from nathan thinking there was someone else inside, running in and finding the boy, the beams.... the gap... the devestation.... the leap out of the window.... everything. The only thing he avoided--sometimes very narrowly--was any mention of the forms they were in. He knew she wasn't ready to learn that yet, though the only reason he didn't have burn scars was because his thick fur had saved him.
"....and so, they found me a while later, maybe a half hour or so, burned and half blind. Turns out, the heat of the flames I had to jump through melted the pigments in my eyes. That's what changed them from blue to this."
He shifted position, then opened his shirt to show her the tattoo on his naval once more. He was uncomfortable, and a little warm, as he remembered that dark night and his body remembered the heat of the flames.
"Nathaniel Pegrough was my best friend. They even held off his memorial service at Elkwater Park--" The nicest cemetary in the city; "--for three weeks while I recovered, just so I could go. I've never been so humbled in my life as I was, when his parents said they were going to do that."

Re: Rebellion (( Mature, Male, R. reserved for Scy))
she gave a light nod when he asked her if she remembered the fire. She had been living in the city after all. those people wrote news just about anything that happens. including the daily flasher in mid town. She watched him as he retold his tail, though sometimes she got the feeling he wasn't giving her everything, and whenever he hesitated she knew he was leaving things out, not sure what, but figured it was just to painful to remember or he couldn't remember them at all and didn't want to lie to her.
She had been so caught up in his story she barely noticed the fact her marshmellow was now a big blob of burnt meltiness . She even wanted to cry at the loss of his friend and saw how much it hurt him to lose the guy, Everything showed in his expression.
Setting the stick down now she got up and moved over to sit by him, glancing over his tattoo every now and then before looking up at his face.. '' sorry that you lost your best friend Cale.. granted, i have never had a best friend, especially one as close to me as Nathaniel seemed to be to you. non the less, losing someone you cared for greatly sucks... and i am glad they held off the funeral for you.. not many would do that. . '' which was true, she found out the hard way how cruel people could be at times. this was the first she has actually heard of someone holding off on a funeral for another. '' you two mus thave been so close that his parents thought of you as another son. ''
she looked him over though, he either didn't have a burn scar at all or it was so faint she just couldn't see it.. '' your lucky you still have your eyesight. i don't know how thats possible, but miracles do happen. '' the fact that him and his friend had saved a boy, even at the cost of his friend.. just told her how much of a good character he had.. '' makes me wish i had met Nathaniel. .. think i saw him a time or two but that was about it.. '' leaning her head on his shoulder she looked up at him. '' you can say your friend was a true hero. '' smiled and reached up to lightly poke the tip of his nose'' you are too you know.. risking yourself by jumping out the window with that little boy.. and if anyone says other wise i will kick them for you. ''
she would have asked a few more question's about his friend but she didn't want to upset him by dragging out bad memories for him.having him just recanting that event of the fire upset him a bit. she could tell. so switching tactics she stretched out and relaxed. '' mmm you know.. seeing how you cared for the two horses, got me wondering.. what kind of a heritage do you have?"

Re: Rebellion (( Mature, Male, R. reserved for Scy))
He reached out to touch her when she sat beside him, caressing her cheek. "It isn't your fault. But I do appreciate the sympathy. He was the only real friend I'd ever had. He warmed up to me the first out of all of my friends."
He listened quietly as she recalled her past experiences with Nathan, then spoke once again. "He was certainly one more concerned with his academic performace, and landing a scholarship, than with leading a social life. It was his ambition to become a teacher someday."
He was humbled when she called him a hero, especially in the same breath she'd called Nathan one. "...Thanks... But I don't really see myself as one. I was just doing what was right. That child's life was more than twice worth mine."
He reached out, and pulled her into an embrace as he lay there, nuzzling her gently.
However, when she asked her final question, he blanched. For the first time in a long time, Cale was at a loss for words. Hoe was he supposed to explain that he was almost half elf? At least, without her freaking out.
"...Uuuh, well, what kind of a heritage do you think I have?"

she smiled when he caressed her cheek and she practically leaned into it as she listened to his words, when he pulled her into his embrace and began to nuzzle her she smiled, snuggling up closer to him she sighed, '' well i see you as a hero. suppose that just matters to me though . '' smiled as she looked up at him., watching him for a moment, well at least until she seemed to have stumped him on her question.
leaning up lightly she grinned as she reached up and lightly caressed his cheek. '' mmm well .. i am not sure.. i am thinking maybe an Indian heritage.. .. not apache.. since you don't have their famous temper.. mmmm maybe Comanche.. or Cherokee. .. not too sure though .. '' she shrugged, as she lightly kissed him. '' but i could be wrong.. which is why i ask. ''

Cale was still struggling to work out an answer--he didn't want to flat out lie to her. If he did, it would only make it more complicated when he finally was able to tell her about his supernatural blood.
However, he was grateful for the outlet when she mentioned the native American tribes, and quickly worked out an evasive response.
"...yes, something like that. My...ancestors cherished the value of the natural world. They lived a similar lifestyle to the Lakota. Thier tricks with animals were sort of passed down from generation to generation, and my mother taught them to me once we moved out here."

she smiled, seeing him relax a little, maybe he thought she would be against the Indian methods.. she was actually interested in it, reaching over to pick up the smore's back once again she stuck a marshmellow on the stick and stuck it in the fire as she laid back with him '' mmm well i figured as much. i like that though , maybe you can teach me?" looked to him, bringing her stick back as she blew the fire out off her marshmellow, she was quick to get the two graham crackers out and a piece of chocolate on them before she placed the goey mess on it. '' mmm one of my favorite snacks.. i am surprised i hadn't gotten fat on it. '' teased, taking a bite of the mini smore sandwich .
'' want some?" she looked to him, offering a piece of it to him. ." you know.. '' she glanced up as the moon now rose.. '' been a while since i have done this and i am really enjoying it.. '' looking to him she licked some chocolate off her finger.. '' thank you... i mean that. ''

He smiled, only too aware of just how narrowly he had avoided that bullet. But, he knew he couldn’t avoid the subject forever. So, pushing the playing field into his favor, he leaned up and kissed her scalp, and then took a deep whiff of her hair, smiling softly.
He put his arm around her shoulders then, and gazed into the flames once more, very different thoughts in his head now than before.
“….No thanks. I don’t eat chocolate. Makes me feel a little nauseous.”
Technically, he was classified as a human, but the wolf still flowed within his blood, and it disagreed with chocolate. It couldn’t kill him like it could a dog, but it could make him sick.
Of course, Cale’s enhanced senses came from the elven part of his bloodline, but that was another matter.
“I don’t mind them without the chocolate, but I confess I’m really not in the mood.”
In fact, he was in a whole other mood as he watched the flickering light dancing across her supple flesh, and their touching didn’t help. But he wanted to try and breech a dangerous subject.
Leaning into her, he asked softly in her ear, “…Do you believe in the supernatural?”

she smiled warmly as he kissed her scalp, she barely noticed that he practically sniffed her hair.she smiled even more as he snuggled close and put his arm around her shoulders.. '' well alright, guess we have our allergies or food sensitivity .. '' licking the chocolate from her fingers she leaned against him now, pretty good with just the one smore.
Once her fingers where clean she relaxed more and half closed her eyes, watching the flames dance and trying to ignore how her body reacted with his touchings.. at his question, which also gave her a shiver of delight up her back when he spoke in her ear, she looked over to him'' mm?. supernatural huh.. well... i dunno... depends on what exactly we are talking about. well certain creatures i guess. .."

He smiled. At least she was helping to make this easier for him. If she was open minded about it as she seemed, maybe easing her into it wouldn't be as painful as he'd feared. "...What of Supernatural tribes? Races? Such as... the elves maybe?"
He lifted his hand a little to weave his fingers through the ends of her locks, and said, in a soft, unusual tone that hinted of far off days from a forgotten past, "...Mari, you were somewhat right when you suggested that my heritage descends from the Native Americans, and I said that my ancesters lived a live similar to that of the Lakota, but I never specified which tribe they were.
".....THousands of years ago now, there....dwelt a tribe of people that existed in small pockets and large societies in North America, Europe, and parts of Russia. These people were, supposedly, a race resulting from the sexual crossings of human mothers and angel fathers. Some called them the Neiphleim ((not sure I spelled that right)), others the Druids, and many other things.... But most commonly, they were called and are best known as the elves.
"The elves, particularly the North American groups, walked hand in hand with the humans we call Indians, and the cultures often clashed against each other, and some things seen in the elven cultures are still visible in the Native American tribes of today; earth-based rites and medicines, reminescent of the pagan culture known as Wicca; animal totems; feathers worn in the hair, and in the manes and tails of horses.
"Some Indian taditions worked thier way into elven culture as well; buffalo hunts, war paints, even archery--most elven cults used throwing knives and throwing axes up until the Native Americans showed them bows and the art of archery. Perhaps the most incredible cultural cross reference... is the language. No one knows which language came first and mingled with the other, but ultimately, elvish shares most of its dynmics with the general collective of Indian tribal tongues. Shoshone, Lakota, Delaware... almost all of the tribal dialects share words, phrases, and conjugations with elvish. Sort of like English takes half of its words from other tongues.
He was feeling more comfortable now, though still tense at her possible reactions, but talking about his people... it always soothed him. Especially since he could rarely discuss them.
"...Elvish is a beautiful, airy tongue that envokes many emotions in a singe word. like the word tachamia, meaning 'dawn'.... It speaks not only of the sunrise. Instead, it speaks of the cool, crisp air, the pale watercolor sky, the smell of dew upon the leaves, the sounds of a turkey or other bird as it rises from its slumber, the quiet joy of a creek tumbling over the stones.... and many other things that envoke the dawn.
"Elvish is... a language I'm highly fluent in. Wirtten and spoken.
"...and it is the language of my ancesters. My... elven... ancesters."
He paused then, wondering if he'd told her too much now.

Re: Rebellion (( Mature, Male, R. reserved for Scy))
she smiled, closing her eyes as she felt his fingers in her hair, it felt good, even if her hair wasn't as long as it used to be. arching a brow at his questions on certain tribes she looked to him under half closed eyes..'' perhaps. '', as he started to speak even more into it she grew still, her smile fading as she turned to him, staring at him really , the more he said the more of a stunned look on her face she probably had as she eyed him.
Twice she opened and closed her mouth, and both times nothing really came out. Though surprisingly she wasn't freaking out as much as she should be, considering from what he was saying they where definitely just like the Indians.. just.. a totally different race that nobody really believed existed, . she turned away from him now, staring at the fire as she sat up ,pulling her knees up to her chest as she slid an arm around them and started to chew on her thumb nail as she sat in silence, thinking deeply and taking in all that he had said. she was sure the more she stayed quiet the more he got nervous.
After what seemed like forever but was probably closer to ten minutes, she turned to him , looking him over and even glanced at his ears, which was silly since he didn't have pointed ears.. '' you can speak the language?... .. show me.. i want to hear it.. '' she was definitely sounding a bit fascinated, even to her own ears, but she wanted to hear it.., actually believing it was true and hearing his language would just be one more proof that she could take.. '' and i mean like a whole sentence, not just that one word... '' she was also wondering if he actually had a book. she wanted to see it if he did.

Re: Rebellion (( Mature, Male, R. reserved for Scy))
He bit his lip in anticipation. Every moment she remained quiet, the more panicked he became, though behind his visod of calm it was hardly detectable.
He became worried when she pulled away from his embrace, to hug her knees, and it was everything he could not say anything or reach up for her. He wanted to find someone he could completely bare himself to, and not just physically, either. He wanted to be with someone who knew every bit of him; no secrets.
When she turned to him, however, and asked to hear the words, he sighed in relief, and smiled. He reached out his arms, and took her once more into his warm embrace.
He nuzzled her gently, holding the silence for a while, so as not to cheapen what was to come with the sounds of English still lingering in the ear.
He closed his eyes, and then after about five minutes, he began to whisper. And as he spoke, the words grew stronger, more solid, as he put a few inches between his lips and her ear.
”…..Sauvyt, ev annoulk du quiem, hannakt al siemm manien kai fyareght, kai tachamia. Sauvyt, kai daunnulkey feminine, ev heisse al sol su quet quikeymmann daulk kej dajh wun ek evet kai driyarr, yt kai treihj vane jay.”

She watched him as he seemed to relax, even allowed him to pull her back against him in his embrace, which was comforting and warm but did nothing to soothe her curiousity over, she wanted to pick his brains. so to speak. She closed her eyes as he nuzzled her, shifting a little as she settled more against him she sighed, letting him stay quiet for however long he wanted, even if it made her grow a little impatient.
After five minutes she felt his breath on her ear, which sent shivers of delight through her body before she heard his words.his voice still smooth as ever and deep. though the strange language just made it all the more appealing to her and she had absolutely no clue why.
when he finished she slowly released her breath, and turned her head slightly to face him, he was so close she nearly ended up kissing him. '' wow..,... i have to say i am not easily impressed but. i think you just blew that out the water.. '' mumbled, flushing slightly .. the language was beautiful. and she knew he wasn't lieing since she went to college she was exposed to every language imaginable except that.. . sliding a hand down his arm she placed her palm over the back of his hand and linked her fingers though his.. '' .. mmm can i ask you to translate that?.. i wanna know what you said. ''

He smiled, then hugged her again.
“…Well, the translation’s not exact. The grammar’s a bit different, but, basically, it means,
“‘My love, you are what guides me, giving me reason and purpose, my star, my dawn. My love, my cunning lady, you sharpen my will and courage to go on when I’ve lost my faith, and my hope fades away.’
“….It’s part of a poem that a warrior once wrote for his lover. As an apology, supposedly, for hiding truths from her that he felt she needed to know. It’s become a part of the elven lore. I have a book of it at home. Actually, I have quite a few. Some of them elven children’s books. It’s how my mother taught me the language.” ….behind my father’s back…. he thought scornfully. Eventually I’ll have to tell her about that fiend sometime too. But he showed no signs of this darkness in his past as he smiled. “What else would you like to know?”

Feeling his arms tighten around her in a hug she smiled and looked up at him, she was definitely breathless and when he told her what he had said, she released the breath she was holding. she was feeling pretty damn excited and couldn't hold still as she squirmed a little against him.
" holy cow.. ... definitely amazing and alot to take in.. '' she looked to him again and flushed'' atleast you don't have the pointy ears. heh . would be hard to hide those huh?" she listened to him speak more as she leaned against him, nuzzling his neck lightly and giving a gentle nip to his jaw. she was intrigued with him more and more and wanted to know everything, though a little voice in the back of her head kept telling her to be careful what she wished for. .. '' you got books?,.. oh man i would seriously love to see them.. granted.. i probably won't be able to understand any of it.. still.. if the writting is as lovely as the language then i would consider it a great treat to be able to see them. ''

Cale smiled. "I had about the same reaction when I found out. And it hurt having to keep it a secret, beleive you me. It still hurts."
He gave a full, hardy laugh as she mentioned his ears. "I'm only part elf. About five-eigths. The rest is human. My mother was half and half, and my... father... was full human." He was hesitant to breech the subject of his sire. The abusive drunkard who had robbed him of his brother.... It was a deeply ingrained hatred in Cale's blood.
"My aunt and uncle are human too, from my mother's side of the family. My grandfather was human, and Mary Jane is his baby sister. So they're really my great aunt and uncle."
"....Yes, fifteen books. You can imagine they're hard to come by. I keep my diaries in elvish too. The best way to keep Mary Jane from snooping to find out about any girlfriends I have have without her knowing. Like you. Hell, I even have a copy of my will in elvish. Kept in the supernatural archives for the... provisions I may make for my bretheren.
"And yes, you're welcome to look at them."
he kissed the back of her ear then, sweet and tantilizing, and trailing a few of those kisses down to her neck.
"....Would you like to see some of the writing now?"
Though he had other things on his mind.
