"There were no windows I remember that, and no clocks, we never knew what time it was nor how time passed, they let each of us sleep at each time, I found it strange at the time but now I am thinking that it was to keep us in the dark on time passage"

He paused again "There were more, were conected to all these wires, or at least I was, and sometimes they hurt" He sighed "We seemed to have diffent tests every day. "

"So you could havebeen there for either hours or years?" she said wincing at the thought of having wires connected to someone "It sound like a prison, a horrible place" she said shivering slightly "come on we should keep moving, there's nothing else here" she said brushing herself off and beging to walk just ahead of him or tried to anyway but jsut gave up and walked behind, her wound didn't exactly allow her to go too fast anyway.

"I bet anyone would wish to forget that they were ever in such a place, no idea what time it is, constantly tested and wires of all things" she said, she had seen some others of the dea ones with some wires attached to them but didn't mention it scared it might frighten hiim so decided to tell him later.

Cody nodded "Yes but I think it was at least a month there were some younger ones and a few of them lost a few teeth and they were able to grew in the new one before..." He trailed off. "Something happened, I remember a fire, I remember running, but I couldnt find anyone" He sighed. "I dont know if that is any extra help"

He then smiled and nodded. "Well that place brought me to you, so it couldnt have been all bad right?" He walked with her and sighed. "Rene I could help you ifyou need it"

She looked to him "Then I know where about it is, It might eb best to wait until we'reboth healed up though" she said "and my name is Ren not Rene" she said giggling slightly "you've been calling me that for a while now Cody" she giggled "and I'll be fine, I can handle just as many injuries as you but I might need a bit of help to climb somethings though" she said a bit sheepishly still not used to asking someone to help her at all.

"We should think about where we should stay for tonight as well before it gets dark" she said trying to think of somewhere that wasn't going to collaspe on them in the middle of the night.

Cody looked a bit cheered up and then licked his lips and bit his lower lip but then relaxed there was no chance that thepeople that had done that too him were still alive. He then blushed. "I am sorry Ren I cant belive I had been getting it wrong"

He then nodded about stopping for the night, he knew it would probably take them a while to find a place that they could spend the night" He looked around "I wonder what happened to all the animals?"

"probably foudn the nuclear plant and stayed their causeing the mutant animals most others just died" she said a bit sadly "and don't worry about it, it happened a lot at school as well" she said and thought about which areas were safe and not overaly far.
"Hey, do you know any places that would be a good shelter for tonight? you said you moved from place to place as well" she said noticing he had cheered up a bit as well as relaxing more made her smile slightly. "maybe there's an old inn or bed in breakfast that hasn't fallen then or a hotel that way it'll be easier and nicer to stay in for a bit" she said "Why don't you pick a place though each place i've picked seems to fall apart or on us"

Cody sighed ."I guess I just kind of hopped that there would be some pets you know, some times pets might be even more comfort" He shrugged "But I guess it would just be another mouth to feed"

He smiled slightly and thought for a moment "I might have a place" He led her over a building. Inside it was almost prefect. "I found this place" He paused "I think a few months before I found you"

There were even paintings still on the walls "I dont understand why this one isnt falling down, it lloked so bad on the outside but in the inside it s prefect" He shrugged.

"Yeah, your right they are a comfort but it would mean we would have one more mouth to feed, if we do find an animal it might be ok.. something like a bird that way it won't eat as much as say a dog. but even so itwill still be a surviver so we might find one.. you never know so don't sigh, if we do find a secure way to surve here or if we leave and find another city with humans we would be able to have pets, but that includes a risk" she said as she followed him to the building and looked around "must have some really good structures then and the outside might just be from acid rains, animals fighting things like that" she said
"what is this place anyway, I haven't noticed it before?" she said looking at him for an answer.

Cody smiled "Yeah a bird" He smiled, he was really thinking of something more that they could cuddle but he kept the thought to himself then he smiled "Sorry I do sigh a lot, a bad habbit" He shrugged.

When she mentioned the house he was silent for a moment then spoke in a far away voice. "I remember kids talking, of a place that hadnt been effected, that the insdie was still intact, but that it was invisable to the...others as they called them" He shrugged. "I got them to draw a map and I memorized it"

"howlong ago was that?" she asked softly noticing he had gone silent before she asked him "and don't worry, I just thought you were upset" she said "and what do you mean by others?" she asked curiously as she wondered around a bit looking around the old house. It was very old but comforting since it was a proper house and one that was intact at that.
"It's great, I haven't even seen a house like this in years" she said smiling as she went back over to him "come on we should find somewhere to eat and sleep for tonight" she rumaged through her pouch finding they had jsut enough food for tonight. "Wonder if they have some food in the kitchen or garden?" she muttered thinking. She looked up hearing something. "I think you just got your wish" she said as a small little jack russle puppy troted towards them a bit scruffy but was doing very well on the food it had found and barked wagging its tail.

Cody paused. "The Moon has been full 2 or maybe 3 times since, so I guess its been 2 or 3 months?" He sighed. "I am not upset, just remembering more of that time there" He shuddered.

He looked around "Well there might be food, its odd that this place servived, maybe it was built with some strange material?" He smiled but then found at the lack of food. "Maybe there is something here" He started to look around then froze when he heard the noise but then dropped down when the dog came.

"Hey were did you come from?" He asked,.

"Two or three months huh?" she said thinking slightly and then noticed him shuddering a nd put a gently hand on hsi shoulder as she kneeled down beside him "Don't talk about it if it hurts. everyone has been through enough already no point adding to it"the puppy who yapped wagging it's tail. "Guess she managed to survive very well huh little guy?" she said and the puppy licked his face like mad happily before turning to Kris and doing the same and licking her making her laugh a bit. "before you ask yes we can keep her." she said and the Pup then went back to Cody and yapped wanting to play. "she'll follow us reguardless since she's just latched onto you" she smiled lightly "We can give her a name later. First we should find somewhere warm, it;s freezing here" she said

Cody shrugged listeningto her and petting the dog. "Well I only remember those 2 or 3 moons was probably way more." He smiled "It doesnt hurt that much I just wish it would make more sence, why was I there where was my family, was our school a boarding school?" He looked at her and smiled again at the dog.

He smiled again "Well maybe it will be more protection" He sighed. "Alright, you pick" He said with a grin about moving again.

"What did I just say? and you shouldn't dwell too much on the past and it's not really protection more of like a comfort and soemthing to keep us going and also jack russles are very good guard dogs" she said and pinched his nose playfully and stood up picking a random room which looked to be an old living room with a fireplace a few dry logs. "Perfect and it's even got a fireplace" she said quiet pleased with her discovery and looked back to Cody and the dog and signalled for htem to come in quickly as she set up the heat rod in the logs to keep them warm adn the room seems very warm quickly and she smiled before she placed her bag down.
She sat herself down adn leaned against an old couch before she started to look through her old books.

Cody laughed slightly then slapped a hand over his mouth a bit embarrassed. "Okay okay" He shrugged then followed her into the old living room area and watched her as he went through the books. "Wow there are still books here, justplace really is amazing I wonder why it was able to withstand while everthring around it collasped. "But I am happy feels good to be in a real home"

"yeah, it does feel nice, we should stay here for a bit, it's near a main water source, it has good shelter and is also near a lot of the places I store food" she said relaxing slightly for the first time in a while. She stood back up and flicked hrough an old book" Some theese are really good, story books are something I haven't seen in a while" she said and heard yapping at her heels "No, your not going to eat theese" she said "and why were you laughing before?" she asked just curious and put the book she was holding back in it's place before she went off a bit and changed her old bandages for clean ones or at least tried to determined to be able to do it herself she cursed uder her breath.
She looked up slightly hearing something after she had tried changing her bandages and quickly looked outside the room with a hand on one of her guns before she went back in. "Are you sure there isn't a reason why this place is invisible to the others or even that it's still standing?" she asked before she put some food by the made up fire to cook so they could eat it a bit later "So, what should we name her, the dog I mean?" she looked up waiting for an answer making sure the food didn't over cook

Watching her Cody smiled, she did seem a little more relaxed and that felt good. He relaxed slightly as well. He shrugged when he was asked the question. "I dont realy know" He admitted with a bit of a blush. Guess it was just a side effect of finally finding somewhere that I feel a bit safier.

He then smiled again at the books. "I really dont know why the place wasnt found, I wasnt even sure it existed, I thought it was just a story you know the kind people tell to give them hope" He licked his lips.

"Hmmmm for a name, I dont know...maybe in time she will show us"

She just giggled not able to help herself "oh Well" she said and checked around the little pups neck for a collar. "Hmm, she might have a microchip that could tell us, we can try to find something like a chip or bar code scanner tomorrow" she said thinking a bit. "What if there is someone else here, It might just be me but it feels a bit too safe espically after what has happened as well."

She picked up the food wrapped in foil and then searched in the draws in the next room and found some forks and sppons. "These might come in handy, plus we won't burn our fingers when we eat" she said sitting herself back down and offering Cody his share before giving small bits of her food the the little pups which she wouldn't eat anyway and laughed "Well she eat practically anything, little devil" she said laughing lightly and smiling as she began to eat her share of the food.

She felt something was a bit off in this place but did not speak a word.

Cody watched Ren check the dog. "I hope, she has something, we all deserve a name and a place to be" He smiled and ruffled the little dogs fur. He then smiled at Ren. "You have a nice laugh" He said softly then blushed. "I mean...well its good te hear it"

He then looked around when she menitioned someone else. He shuddered slightly and shook his head. "I hope not I dont want to see one of those things again"

He chuckled at the dog eating. "Well she seems to have missed attention, I do wonder what she has been eating though.

"Yeah, of course everyoen does" She smiled softly. "I found her name anyway, Isn't he cute Cass?" she asked and she barked and jumped up and licked his face as he blushed, clearly agreeing with her comment. "And don't worry, We'll be fine. We're not alone after all" she pointed out that fact "Also, It was just a maybe it doesn't mean for definate and jack russels have excellent hearing and sense of smell" she laughed slightly. "and who wouldn't miss attention, it gets lonely after two years or even a few months" she said
"Also I've been noticing you've been commenting a lot and calling me Angel, why?" she asked just curious as to how he would answer that.

Cody wasnt sure if Ren was asking him if he thought the dog was cute, or if she was asking the dog if he was cute so he simply nodded. "Yes Cass is very cute" He smilked then petted the dogs fur.

He licked his lips "I know we are not alone, I just hope we are alone here so we can stay for a bit, abotu the Angel thing I am sorry I didnt relize, but you were like my angel, saving me and all"

Cass barked and wagged her tail and Ren just smiled. "I don't mind, I was just curious and you've already saved my neck as well so that makes you my angel" she said grinning "and its would be nice to stay here for a bit since it's so... homey, I think thats the word" she lifted her head up as she tried to think of the right word.

Inside the house though what they hadn't found was that those people were there two or three of them sceintists and Cass had been one of their experiments but she was a failed one that escaped. Lucky they hadn't found them or the dog.

Ren began flicking through her books and smiled "Perfect, I found my old notebook, I was wondering where that went" she said delighted by the fact

Cody shrugged and blushed "So I guess we are both eatch others Angel" He smiled and then looked a the dog "I still wonder where he came from and how he looks so well, not to many animals could have surived how did she?"

He sighed and laid down on the couch watching her flip throgh the books but sat up quickly when she mentioned her old note book. "How did that end up here?"

"I don't know, but it seems as though she has been cared for by something or someone" she said "and I always tended to lose my notebooks" she stopped "Or someone picked it up before, they ripped out one of the formua's luckily it's pretty useless shesh some of the stuff in here is quiet dangerous. I have no idea what I was thinking" she said

After a little while there was shouting from someone and they didn't sound particaully happy either. Ren looked up recognising the voice from the people who she escaped from two years ago she pulled Cody and Cass behind somewhere nad hid them "Keep hold of her and don't elt her go ok?" she said sat beside him quiet shocked if anything.

Although he felt as if he should relax for some reason he couldnt. Why was this place untouched, how did Ren's book get here what was up with the dog. He began to get more worked up he went to walk up to her to request that they leave. Something was wrong really wrong

But before he could though he head the yelling. He winced in pain and grabbed the back of his neck then as he wa grabbed he held on to the dog and began to try to make himself small. He wished he could help but he was in imense pain his neck felt as if it was on fire.
