Ren looekd to him rather concerend and put an arm around him "Hey what's wrong" she said adn noticed the back of his neck was burning and lifted his head up looking him in the eye and sighed "Oh Cody" she said knowing partly what was going on "Hold on for a bit ok? we need to cool your neck down" she kept an arm around him and once they were gone she quickly put some water on his neck hoping to cool it a bit trying to think of somethigns eh coudl do for the pain. "Move your hand" she said softly and gripped his hand "You'll be fine, no arguments either, maybe we should move" she looked up and looked to Cass

"I don't like moving at night but those people are the same as the ones from two years ago so maybe we should leave, sorry you'll have to indure it a bit longer" she said not sure if it still hurt she stood up and put a hand out to him.

(your not annyoing at all, and I've had a lot of work recently with a few exams)

Cody tired to blink away the tears. "When the yelling started the burning started" He looked around "Oh Ren I am so sorry I should have figured it out, there would be no place safe, no place that could have with stood the damage unless it had someone or people looking after it."

He smacked his forhead. "I am so stupid" He looked up at her. "Who do you think is here, they cant be good, no one good is left, well apart from us" He moved his hand and sighed when she felt the cool water. "What is wrong with it?"

He held on to the dog and burried his face into the dogs fur. It was then that she told him who she thought it was. He turned a shade of grey in shok.

"Ren I am so sorry" He stood up and with weaken feet started to walk out. "Is there somewhere we can hid close so we dont have to go so far"

She listend ot him and wiped away the tears,"It's ok, everyone makes mistakes, and there is somewhere not too far off" she said "and don't be sorry at all, you have no reason to be, plus you weren't the one who caused it" she said and picked up her pouch, guns and daggers quickly before she walked out wiht himtaking his hand and squeezeing it "Come on, everything will be fine" she said
Once they got to the next building whioch wasn't too far off she made sure he sat down first and examained the back of his neck "You didn't fail any of those tests huh? guess this is what happens at the end." she said thinking carefully on how to word it.
"How should I say it? well, at the end of those tests the person with the highest score, I'm guessing, their used to preserve something that needs body temperature to survive, it's not living though" she said it was only a theory and guess but it was better than nothing.
She still gripped his hand trying to comfort him a bit since he was very upset and Cass licked him and whimpered.

Nodding trying to get a handle on his tears he felt foolish for crying but he was just a jumble of everything. The pain in his neck and then putting Ren in danger. Why didnt he think, he was just despert to find a real house for Ren. He smiled softly when she tried to make him feel better "You always know what to say to make me feel better'

It was clear that his time in the, well what ever it was, really effected him in his social skills but he was trying.

When they made it to the other building and he was sat down he winced agan. "You mean there is something in me?" He closed his eyes, I do remember then injecting someing in me, they said it was to fight a flu bug. He shuddered. Then stood. "what if it is a tracking device, I should leave so they dont track you down or cass"

He still held on to Cass and chuckled as she kissed his face. "I just dont want you or Ren to be in danger Cass, you understand right"

Putting a hand on his back and looking to him being careful not to put her hand on the back of his neck and remembered that his socailskills weren't as good as they should be but didn't really care and listened to what he had to say. "They say things like that a lot..." she said only saying half of what she wanted to before watching him stand up and frowned at what he said "You're not going anywhere mister, no arguments either and I've been running from them for years so nothing is new and we both jsut found what could be the only other human that won't try to kills us" she said and pulled him back down to sit being a bit stubborn. "and we won'tbe in danger either, it's better to stay together then apart, We can look after each other then since we both seem to get injured. That's what's freinds do" she smiled slgiuhtly and Casss barked in response wagging her tail as she cuddled up to Cody sleepily.
"Also, for the record everyone cries some time or another and you're probably just muddled up. However, it's better not to lock it up or it'll just get worse" she said

Although he was willing to leave to protect Ren he was really greatful when she pulled him down he grinned a sheepish grin "No argurments here" He blushed slightly. "I just wanted you to be safe, seems everwhere I go danger follows me. out of all the places that I have picked to hide either they have fallen down, or something else strange happened.

He smiled softly at Ren as she called them friends. "I am grateful I found you" He ruffled the dogs fur "And that we found you Cass" He pet her softly trying to lull the dog to sleep.

"How is my neck looking?" He asked a bit worried.

"Thought so, not many will argue with me"she grinned and rustled his hair as he blushed laughing "And it's not your fault, it's their fault really. Think about it logically and you'll understand what I mean" she smiled lightly. "and so am I, I swaer I was dying from lonilness" watching as Cass fell asleep "We should settle down for tonight as well, we'll move tomorrow" she said and leaned back tired and looked back at him when he asked her something "It's looking fine, don't worry about it. I'm pretty sure it won't change you at all"

she rustled aorund in one of the bags and sighed "We lost the blankets de to the rush to get out ofthere and no, you don't have to say sorry"she looked to him knowing he would say that before she lay back staring at the ceiling thinking for a bit listening around ehr as she used her arms and hands as a pillow.

Cody winked at Ren. "Of course no one would agrue with you" He smiled reminds me of a tune I heard in the...well you know..."I am woman hear me roar I will knock you to the floor" He shrugged. "Strange the things that are sneaking into my head"

He yawned as she talked about settleing down. He nodded. "Well maybe we can sneak back in and get the blankets..." He trailed off. "No that probably wont be good" He chwed his bottom lip. "It does suck about the blankets though hopefully somewhere"

He watched her and then motioned. "You could use my chest as a pillow?" He said more of a question then a statement.

She just laughed slightly and shook her head "your going mad Cody" she said "and your right isn't a good idea, I just want to stay as far away from them as possible, I escaped them once and I don't want to have to do it again" she said resting her head on him she was rather tired and Cass settled herself down as well "thanks" she said "and yes it does suck" she said drifting off she curled up on one side and quickly fell asleep while Cass settled herself down by Cody's head and curled up trying to provide a bit of a pillow but not going to well but it kept part of his head warm.

They had spotted traces of people being there and looekd to each other "One of them might have been that one, and possibly the one that escaped" "We should find them and see we still have reaserch to be done and if one of them has that in them then we need it back quickly"

Cody wrinkled his brow. he wasnt mad, he was relived. It took a few moments for his brain to kick in she must mean mad as in crazy, like in a joke. He hoped that she hadnt noticed his slight confusion he felt really stupid but he just didnt understand a lot but with her it was getting better.

He couldnt help but smile as she rested her head on his chest. "I hope that is comfortable, and hopefully we can find replacements" He sighed "What do you remember from before you escaped?" He was hoping to remember more.

Unfortunatly for him she had noticed and lay herself back on her back "Hmm, let's see I remember people with white coats a few looked like mad sceintists, the schoool was rather old and it had a huge library which I used to go to for research, I was real geek wouldn't find anyone like me in years to come. Anyway, their were huge labs which I did experiments in, I blew up one afew times each year which was always great fun since I got away with it all the time. The classrooms had huge windows and the street outside the fence used to be neat and rather booring but plants have grown very quickly as you can see" She said trying to pick out a few more things "and then there was the computer room, a few of the technology was old but it all worked perfectly fine... I remember a lot of school, it was very old fashoined but it made the place interesting a few students found a secret room. I found the old blueprints of the building. We had sports day I think you won an event for that, track event don't know which one though but it was funny to see you all shy at the end" she said laughing slightly as she remembered.

"Hopefully, shouldn't be oo hard though, old hopsital has some but they aren't very nice, some of the old houses could have some as well, just blankets though, pillows would be too much of a hassle to carry round or we could try going back tomorrow, shouldn't take too long and we'll be quickk as well since we won't be staying there"

Cody frowned when she moved her head he had liked it there. but she began talking so he lifted himself up on one elbow and listened ot her. As she explained things more puzzle peices came into place in his head. The schooling, the other kids. He looked at her. "There were a lot of us werent there. I wonder if it was like during VietNam wheen the Kmur rouge took all the children" He wrinkled his brow. "How did they getaway with it all?"

He blushed when she talked about him winning. "I remember that, I think it was the Long Distance run, and shot put, maybe" He laid back down and stared at the ceiling. "Yah a blanket would be nice, especally when it gets cold"

"Maybe, but their wasn't really a reason this time. Escapeing them was hard as well, strange guard dogs to. scared the life out of me, not literally of course" she said pullling her hair band out so it didn't dig into her head as she slept. She laid her head back on him and laughed slightly as he blushed not really able to help it at all. " Maybe shot put, I prefere sprints, quick. Although there was always something strange about the sports day again people with white coats. I thoughtit was the latest fashoin trend" she joked slightly.
"Yeah there were a lot of us, there were also dorms I stayed in one or rather I only stayed in oen so I could use one of the labs and yes you guessed it I blew it up in the middle of the night, great fun though created these heat rods, they last for years on end brillant things. As for how they got away with it they could have had contacts with the media and they constnatly went into the headmasters office." she said begining to drift off again.

"I wonder why you lost your memory though, maybe what is in your neck effected it since it's near some of thecenteral nervous system.. I think, Biology was never my strongest subject. Anyway, since it's near that it might have effected bits of memory and locked them up" she said closing her eyes almsot falling asleep again.

Nodding Cody swallowed. "Yeah I wonder how I remembered about that, did we learn about it?" He shook his head "Never mind I dont want to know" He smiled as she undid her head and laid back down on his chest. "Hmmm I think I like this" He said softly and then he softly put his arm around her. "How is this," He pasued "I mean to keep you warm" He added trying to make it so he didnt sound creepy.

He shuddered. "Oh I remember the dogs" He turned to Cass "Maybe thats what she was suppose to be, like a new breed, smaller, to get into the smaller hidding places" He chuckled "I think I remember, they called you.." He paused "TNT, Dash...something right?" He wrinkled his brow. "Something that ment quick maybe FLASH? Or Lighenting?" He shook his head, "and here I thought I really remembering something"

He shrugged. "I dont know why I lost, but I think its coming back slowly, like I do remember the white coats, and the tests, even the sports days. I remember the explosions" He chuckled "I didnt know who did it but it was talked about alot"

He gently hugged her when he noticed she was falling asleep, he wasnt sure why he did it, but it just felt right.

She was about to answer but stopped when he said he didn't want to know and giggled slightly when he tried to make himself sound less creepy "It's fine" she said half asleep already she curled up slightly and listened quietly to what he had to say "Hmm, not a name that I know of and maybe, but she's too kind, maybe she was a failed experiment that escaped before they had a chance to complete her, but she'll be excellent at findig food too so she cna probably stay with us easily plus she's too cute to just leave alone" she said and stroked Cass softly. "Who said you didn't, I didn't know if had a nickname or anything" she paused a bit "who said you didn't remember anything, anything is better than nothing atleast"

"and of course people talked about it, despite the fact it happened frequently but barely any of my experiments failed great fun though and nowyou know who did it. Funny enough I was actually given permission to use the labs as logn as I cleaned them afterwards. Not too bad of a deal really.

After that she soon fell asleep barely noticing it she just curled up a bit more still resting her head on him but it was definatly warm which only amde her fall asleep even more quickly able to say goodnight just before she drifted off completely into her dream filled sleep.

When she curled into him more. He couldnt help but smile. He closed his eyes and listened to what she was saying he petteed her too. "Well it loks like we all have that in common, we all escaped from that hell"

He let out a loud yawn then covered his mouth "Sorry about that" He closed his eyes again and strarted to fall asleep. He slept but not well. He awoke with every slight sound around but finally fell asleep as the sky begain to lighten.

Ren woke up only a few more hours after Cody had finally fallen asleep shuffling slightly with a bit of a moan as she woke up. Looking up a bit she smiled seeing him sound asleep and then little Cass curled up asleep as well beside his head and tried not to giggle slightly. She looked up a bit and sat herself up slightly careful not to nudge him she began to search in her bag for something to eat for breakfast finding some leftover meat for Cass and some fairly fresh fruit for her and Cody to eat.

After a little while longer she nudged him gently and Cass had already woken up and curled up beside her. “Morning sleepy head… sleep well?” she asked speaking softly as she looked down to him with a smile seeing the clear blue sky out of the corner of her eyes she turned her head slightly and saw not a single cloud and smiled even more “Nice clear day for once”

When he felt her poking her he couldnt help but groan a little bit but then he streched and rubbed his eyes.

"Yes I slept well, for the time that I slept" He admitted then he stood and streched again. "How did you sleep?"

"Me and Cass both slept fine" she looked up slightly hearing voices "We should move quickly, I think they firgured out we wouldn't be able to get far" she said and stood up slowly and Cass jumped onto Cody before she stuffed a few things into Ren's bag as she walked a bit closer and then even closer until she was nearly next to them but hidden jerking back when she was almost grabbed by one of them "I knew it... it's the one that escaped and that boy!" shouted one of them and Ren backed off quickly before she was grabbed by her arm she tried yanking her arm away but failed.

Cass growled "and we have a failed experiment" shouted the other as tge first one tried to drag her back panicking without her daggers and guns she tugged her arm harshly and winced.

Cody smiled and rubbed his eyes. "Glad you slept well" He was about to go on but he heard the voices too. His throat went dry as he held on to the dog. He started to get ready to run but tiwas too late. He was grabbed around the arm and it was painfully twisted backwords.

"Oww stop" he whimpered then saw that Ren was captured too. He turned to the guys "What do you want with us?"

The one that held her arms back behind her as she struggled picked up her chained weapons and her bag. "You'll see that once we get you back to base. Slippery little thing aren't you?" "Nope, I'm jsut clever" she said and gave a slight whimper feeling their grip tighten as she tried to slip her hands free and cursed slightly. Cass growled but stayed with Cody trying to bite the people in white coats.
They were both blindfolded before they were taken to their real base. Ren concentrated trying to figure out where they were but soon only felt a cold stone floor beneath her as her arms were realsed. "damn, cages like animals huh?" she muttered and looked up slightly as she pulled her blindfold off feeling more at ease that Cody was there with her but Cass had slipped away hiding in small places where nothing could get her.
"You ok?" she asked and checked his arms for bruises despite her own hurting a lot with one bruise right on her wrist stinging when she moved it.
"No saying your sorry either, you don't need to" she said knowing he would

Cody continued to fight. He nearly got away until he was knocked out by a slam against his head. Everything went black then even blacker then when he just had the blindfold and he was dragged to the room with Ren then roughly thrown in. He did not anserw when Ren called to him.

Slowly he groaned and rubbed his face a nice shiner of a black eye was forming and one side of his face was swollen his arm was black and blue from being mishandled he couldnt see though and when he finally came too he called out softly to Ren,

"Ren are you there"

She went over and sat beside him when he was thrown in and tried to tend to the wounds since she still had most of what was in her pouch and found somethign frozen lucky enough it was beside the frozen heat rods. pretty much the oposite she kept one to treat her injuries and rolled it into a shape waiting for him to wake up.
Ren frowned softly and put a hand on his and squeezed it "I'm right here, can't you see?" she asked "look like you've jsut been in the wars" she said raising an eyebrow slightly "Cass got away, probably hiding somewhere" she looked outside the barred window not seeing very much at all.She then put the frozen shape in his hand "Put it over your face to bring down the swelling a bit,it should go away over night but that shiner will take a few days" she said having already tended to her own bruises she was mostly fine and kept hold of his hand not knowing if he could see or not still being carefuly not to touch any of his bruises "Oh Cody" she muttered softly.

Feeling Ren's hand Cody tried again to open his eyes and could only see in blurry vision he looked around and whimpered. He turned to he voice. "I can seel a little" He whispered. "What happened?"

He was glad that Cass got away, he couldnt belive that they were caught again. He brought a hand to his face. "Guess I know now why I lost my memory, too many beatings"

He tool the cold comprss and sighed. "How bad is it?" In truth the one side of his face was swollen and moving to the other side. He looked a mess both his eye blackened. And red. "Man I must of done something to really make them angrey, more then just escape."

"We got caught and you got a nasty beating... and your right that might have been the reason they locked themselves away, your memories in order to protect you from thaat pain" she said softly "and as for how bad it is, you won't die from it since you have no serious bleeding from what I can tell" she said noticing one eye had gon red "Must have hurt a lot" muttering she tried to think of something he might ahve done. "Maybe that's something you forgot, it'll most likely come back now though due to the circumstances" she stayed where she was "Think you can stand of sit up?" she asked "I'll help so don't worry about it" she was still sitting up looking around slightly it was a strange place though so she was curious but more concerned about Cody since he was pretty beaten.

Looking up she heard the voices again as one walked beside it she kneeled up rather angry about what had happened and looked ready to leap anything that came through that door. "want to try, you'll probably end up like your freind there" they said and she sat back down keeping herself between the person and Cody.
