Brodrick was watching Alec closely wanting to belive that he was going to pull through this. He helped her clean him checking for broken bones "Any broken bones Mi lady, I will get men to reset them"

He had to chuckle at her comment. He knew that she would fit in here, she was strong if only Alec had seen this.

Adriana glanced to Brodrick. She nodded to him. "Okay, I think he has one on his arm. But I'm not real certain.." she replied softly. She took care of his wounds, using the herbs to prevent the wounds from getting infected, or anything.

Letting out a shrill whistle Brodrick waiting the few seconds it took for two soldiers to come in. He montioned. "Lady Adriana needs you to rest a bone and purhapes its dislocated" He nodded to Adriana, "We are all at your service"

Adriana nodded to the soldiers. She tried to avoid watching them as they reset the bones, she flinched a little.

Brodrick noticed that Adriana flinched as the bones were reset. He knew for sure then that even if she did not know it Adriana had given her hear to Alec. He was a little sad for himself but the fact that Alec was going to have a woman in his life.

Alec felt the pain of the shoulder being popped back in but was too far gone to show the pain. He had heard that when you were unconcuous that you were not suppose to be able to feel anything that seemed to be proving to be alive.

Brodrick turned to Adriana "How long do you think he is going to be out"

Adriana was trying really hard to be strong for Alec right now, especially after seeing his bones being reset and popped back in place. Her gaze shifted to brodrick. "I'm not sure maybe a few hours or a few days. Hopefully not too long, because I really want to scold him for going out so recklessly."

Hearing her comment Brodrick began chocking with laughter. His booming laugh "Lady Adriana by the way you speak I think you have highland blood running through your vains"

He laughed again and then licked his lips looking down at Alec. "You save him mylady, we thought he be dead or on they way to it"

She glanced to Brodrick and smiled a little. "Well... I do," she told him, before taking a wet cloth and placing it on Alec's forehead. "I'm stubborn, I didn't believe... that he could be dead."

Brodrick looked at her "You what" He paused then gasped "You have highland blood in you dont you"

He looked at her as she so softly tended to Alec. As much as he was attracted to her it was clear that her heart belonged to Alec. After awhile maybe he would go into England he shuddered at that though that find himself a Adriana for himself.

"Mi Lady you should rest would you like a chair?"

"Yes... My father is a laird," she stated softly, as she worked on taking care of Alec. "No... I'm fine. I won't rest till he opens his eyes."

It took all his discpline not to react to the news. "Does Alec know?" He asked softly then put up his hand "Never mind it does not matter" He smiled "Thats why you seem to fit in here so well, you do"

Alec wanted to open his eyes but he just couldnt force his body to. The pain was nearly unbearable but when he let himself go deeper it was nearly gone but he was fighting his own body.

"He does," she stated, feeling kind of guilty. If Alec didn't know about her father, he wouldn't have rushed off, and then he wouldn't be in this situation. She searched through her herbs, and she found the one that should take pain away, and gave it to Alec. Maybe he was in pain...

Brodrick nodded then looked at her . "Lady Adriana you are not to blame, he was attacked on our land, someone was out to get him so please dont blame yourself"

Alec's body took the herbs and he fell asleep.

He slept for 4 days and 5 nights before he opened his eyes to look around.

Adriana nodded to Brodrick, and continued to tend to Alec.


She rarely left his side during the time he was out, she had to be convinced several times to go home and sleep.

Adriana was there, asleep in a chair, by the time Alec had finally woken up. She had taken a little nap, she had exhausted herself, because she was stubborn, and strong, and she refused to give up on him.

Alec groaned he felt as if he was on fire. Brodrick hearing him rushed to him. "Laird?" He said softly then smiled. "Welcome back, Lady Adriana is here, she is the onle that convinced all of us that you were still with us. She was so stubbrone that she would let us give up either.

Alec blinked he was still unable to move. his limbs his mouth felt dry and he finally turned his head to look at Adriana.

Her eyes opened slowly when she heard someone talk, then she saw Alec wa awake. She stood up and went to him. "How are you, Laird?" she asked, keeping her voice calm, to keep from showing that she just wanted to hug him, to keep from showing that she was relieved that he was awake, finally. Sje did though smile at him, also hiding that she was about to give him a very long lecture aboutbeing reckless.

Alec smiled at Adriana but frowned as he heard her call him Laird. He was a bit confused did she always call him that? He knew that the would have to marry her to protect her, but he wouldnt alllow her to have his child, they wer unsafe they got sick and died.

Alec attempted to speak but found it difficult his mouth was so dry.

Adriana really had no idea what to call him. She had no idea what she even felt about him, she did know that on top of jer worry, she was mad at him. Sje went and got him some water, and brought it to him, letting him drink.

Alec took the water grimmanced. "No Ale?" He teased Brodrick looked at him. "Lady Adriana stayed by your side this past week" He nodded to Adriana. "Your stubroness brought him back you should be proud" He looked down at Alec gave him a stern look then smiled.

"I shall tell the people you are awake" He bowed to Adriana then left.

Alec looked at her. "What happened?"

Adriana watched him quietly, rolling her eyes, amused by his no ale question. "Silly," she stated with a playful smirk. She nodded to Brodrick. She was proud, thrilled actually, that she didn't loose Alec. She had been so afraid. Her gaze shifted back to Alec. "What do you mean what happened? You left in a huff, with my fathers name, and were gone forever, then you came back, and went and got yourself wounded. They thought you died." She folded her arms and scoffed at him. "Don't be so reckless, you you... Man!"

Raising an eye brow as she laid into him. He attempted to push herself up but the pain from his ribs sent him backwords. He winked "Men dont huff only women do" He was goading her and was enjoying it. He reached up at touched her face. "I did what I must to keep you safe"

He smiled "Also I thought you didnt care about me?"

"Hey... be careful!" she scolded him when he tried to push himself up. "Oh, you huffed, and you gruffed," she wrinkled her nose at him. When he touched her face, she stilled, a little startled. "Why the hell would gallivanting off keep me safe? My father wanted nothing to do with me." Her eyes narrowed at him, as she choose to ignore his caring about him statement.

Alec still couldnt belive what she was saying. No one talked to him like this. He looked up at her and sighed. "You belong to me now, and when the priest comes he will bless it" He shook his head. "I did not talk to your father about you I just made a alliance"

He groaned "Why do I feel like I broke most of my ribs? "

Adriana stepped back, his statement startled her. "What...?" This angered her. "Like Hell I belong to you, you can't just claim me." she eyed him, cautiously, not liking it at all that he was just claiming.

She glared at him. "Because you broke them, genius."
