she arched a brow as she watched him while heading up the stairs. " fun?. heh why do men always think its fun to beat up other men?. even in sparring. " she shook her head. never really going to understand men.

''granted i wouldnt mind seeing you in action again.. without the danger of course. . getting to her room she opened the door and went in. ." i will be quick. so dont worry bout me."

He grinned..."Not just that...The fact that your father wants to see what I can do...It will be fun." He says as he then nodded.."Alright then...I'll be in my room...I don't sence anyone up here but me and you." He says with a smile as he headded into his room to get ready and what not...It didn't take him long and he was finished and waiting in the hall way for her.

she laughed softly , shaking her head a little." well , that is just him, he loves to see what any soldier can do. something about potential?. i have no idea. but yes, i do believe it will be fun " grinned, before ducking into her room, washed up quickly and changed back into a dress, this one not as heavy as the other one was,so she could move freely without being uncomfortable. frankly she preferred them and pants better then those fancy dresses.

Once dressed she stepped out of the room and looked over at him , smiling. " patient ?. heh, if i where you i would have been pacing the hallway i think "

He looked to her and then grinned slightly..."I'm in no hurry Ladie Avani." He says with a smile as he looked her over..."You look good." He says with a smile as he then cracked his neck slightly.. "Now how bout some food." He grinned his stomach growling again.

she blushed" ohhh well thats good that you are patient, another thing that i like. " she grinned, nudging him lightly as she headed for the stairs, laughing at his growling belly " wow. you must be really hungry, then again i think we did skip lunch. " glancing around she could hear the noise coming from the sparing room, " well guess everyone arrived and such.. i wonder who our guest is.. " she really hated surprises when it concerned other people. well. other then Jacent anyways, his surprises where always interesting.

He smiles as he looked to her.."I see." He says with a chuckle as she nudged him..he followed her and grinned..."that we did." He says with a smile as he shrugged..."hard telling prolly a good friend of your fathers." He says with a grin as he walked with her.

she frowned." i dont know. he usually tells me if it was a friend of his.." she wondered if her father was trying to bring in more bachelors. considering in this day and age she should already be married and having babies.. she preferred doing other things instead of being tied to an overbearing man.

finding her father sitting at the center of the main table she smiled and looked to jacent. "well come on then. let us eat. and see who this company is. before you show us how good you are in sparring."

She shook her head smiling" most definitely , with events like this the soldiers tend to gamble and drink.. gambling more on who will win in the friendly sparring.its a good way for them to have fun and well.. relieve stress and such. . frankly its one of those few times where they can relax a bit . instead of being on high alert. well.. since i have you anyways. " smiled nudging him lightly before reaching her father, kissing his cheek and sitting down next to him, looking up at Jacent and nudged his chair out for him. " well come on and sit down. so we can be served our meal "

She looked around , scanning the many face's in the room.trying to see who was the guest, it wasn't until she spotted the man coming to sit down on the other side of her father that she recognized him, her body immediately tensing up and her mood went from light hearted to dark restless. it was Lord Devon. one of the few men that actually gave her the creeps.

He looked to her and grinned looking around at all the people.."lots people here." He says as he looked to a few guards. He then watched Avani sit down and nudge a chait out for him..."oh right." He says as he sat down nex to her. It wasn't long after that he felt Avani go uneasy and seemingly restless. He leaned over and whispered in her ear..."what's wrong ladie Avani?." He whispers softly as he we'd the Guy she glances at.

She nearly jumped when Jacent leaned over and whispered at her, blinking and looking over to him , before blushing red, forcing herself to relax. " oh.. just.. nothing, i will tell you later." She really didn't want to start something awful near her dad. She always tried to get along with Lord Devon. but for some reason he always made her nervous. just .. something about him made her uneasy.

smiled and leaned back , glancing at the maids who where passing out the meals. " and yes lots of people here, papa loves to do things like this."

She grinned, shaking her head as she watched the maids dish out the meal, she studied it before smiling" looks like chicken and dumplings with red wine and for dessert i do believe that is apple pie. mmmmm " looking to him she grinned. " well if you make it interesting enough it should be. unless you ... beat them up as fast as you did those three when you first came in here. " she glanced to Lord Devon every now and then, very aware of the fact that he kept eyeing her. Another thing that gave her the creeps.

" she watched the maids go about to finishing up with serving the meal before following her father's lead and began to eat." mmmmm delicious as always. " glanced towards her father and sighed, he was in conversation with Lord Devon. and she really wanted to know the topic. but something in her, was telling her she didn't wanna know. " mmm so. tell me jacent, what will you do when you no longer have to protect me any more?"

she smiled and shrugged"just curious.. aww would you miss me if that day came?" studied him for a moment, she really liked him and frankly , thinking about him leaving was making her a little sad.. she wouldn't want to see him leave.. " would you go back to your people?" she would hope not, she didn't want to see him all emotionless again. it was almost... alien to see someone like that. she liked him this way, granted she knew he could be dead serious when he wanted to be.

" well. i know we barely know each other and only just met a few days ago. but yes. i think i would definitely miss you .. do you want me to miss you ?" she relaxed when he said he wouldn't go back to his people. " well.. i am glad.. i mean. i am sure you care for your people but you need to get out on your own.. experience things your way without someone hindering you or controlling your .. emotion's." she kept her voice low, not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing if others knew about him. " well... i am sure you could stay with us even if you didn't have to protect me no more.. give you a chance to .. do things i guess. "

She blushed and took a few bites of her food, giving her a few minutes to think things over before swallowing and looking over to him. " well true.. though i would like to know why your people even came up with such... such .. treatment for their soldiers. or.. umm.. trained guards.. " taking a sip of her wine she leaned back , scanning the area now. seeing the servants walk about, refilling glasses and plates and talking. . the chatter was familiar. soothing.

It didn't take long before she soon forgot her discomfort with the fact that Lord Devon was in the area. After a while she noted that some of the soldiers where getting up and going to the walls that housed several of the wooden training staff's. smiling she nudged Jacent. " looks like they are getting ready. "

He grinned as he ate some as well before looking to her..."Disobieience....If your controled you won't retaliate." He says as he took a swip of his wine as well looking around before looking back to her when she nudged him..."Sounds good to me....I won't even need a weapon." he grinned.

she frowned " well guess thats true. ahhh, its all confusing i have no idea what to think on it. " blinked in surprise before arching a brow. " hey now. why would you do that? heh don't you want to use a staff?.. i mean.. you will be up against more then one soldier i think " glanced at the soldiers who seemed to be warming up a little. most of the crowd was now watching them . probably waiting for the main even. It was times like this that she actually forget that she had a target on her to be killed.

She laughed softly , covering her mouth to try and cover it,but too late, her father took notice of it as well as Lord Devon, though she ignored him for the most part. " well. .. i suppose that is one way to do it and get armed.. and.. and.. i .. i might be a little worried .. is that so bad?"

Her father grinned as he nudged her. " ahh i see whats going on here. after so long of trying to find a suitor you would like you actually take a liking to your personal guard?... Can't say that is unheard of.. "

Avani squeaked, eye's going wide as her cheeks brightened pink, only making her father laugh even harder. " it's.. it's not like that papa... i uhh.." well crap, she was nervous as hell now and frankly.. her father was right actually , she had taken a liking to Jacent. Enjoyed his company even though they knew each other mere days.. .. She glanced to Lord Devon and grimaced at the dark look on his face, she knew he had a thing for her. another main reason why she stayed clear of him.

Lord Devon snorted as he picked up his wine glass and took in a long draft of it before setting it down . " that is definitely not proper i don't think.. isn't he the one that is supposed to be entertaining us tonight? why is he sitting next to her? he should be with the other guards.. " he mumbled.

Her father shook his head as he leaned back, waving away his friend's comments " nonsense.. but he should be getting ready to spar .,. don't you think Sir Jacent?"
