she nearly stopped in her tracks and turned around to stare at him from his words, she had forgotten about that. it was during the sparring thing that he had said that, flushing brightly she nodded " your right.. he did say that.. and you know what i think that is what lord devon is worried about. someone taking me out from under him. "

she just bet her life on it that is exactly what lord devon was worried for, knocking on her father's study door she waited till he told her to come in before she pushed the door open, glancing at Jacent to go in first. " papa. we need to talk ."

\he looked up from some papers as well as pouring a glass of brandy from the bottle that Lord Devon had given him. " yes what is it?"

Devon walked inside looking to her father with a bow. "Me and Ladie Avani have been talking...you said that I was Knight worthy...Sir I would like to marry your daughter."..he says as he caught a scent of somthing that was oddly familiar....."where did you get drink?" He asks him running his finger around the tip of the opened bottle and licking it..."poison...do not drink that sir..." he says as he looked to him.."ladie Avani isn't the only one who's life is in danger..." he says as he looked to Avani

He leaned back and arched a brow" really now? you would like to marry my daughter?" that was a shocker, he studied him before frowning, watching him as he came over and asked about the drink. " i got it from Lord Devon as a gift. i was just going over the deal he wanted to make why ?" he narrowed his eyes watching the action's he did before he declared it had poison in it. " are you sure?.. you licked it , if its poison wouldn't it harm you ?"

Lady avani grimaced as she went over to her father immediately and corked the bottle back up " trust him Papa.. if he says its poison then its poisoned, or give it to a rat if you want proof.. " she slid a glance to Jacent then back to her father. " and yes. he wants to marry him.. i like him papa. he is the only one i would trust to be with. "

He eyed the drink again then Jacent, he definitely believed the man though he had to have proof of it being poisoned before he could make any action against Lord Devon. " get a guard to bring me a rat... i will test it just to be sure.. and since when have you been interested in my daughter?"

He looked him..."yes I would like to marry her..." he says with a smile as he then nodded his head..."it is effecting me...my body is just better at fighting it..." he says as he leaned against the wall breathing harder...."don't worry about me it wont take long for it to sea off...this is pretty potent.." he says...."someone mentioned business.." he says as the veins in his neck popped out and were turning black..he fell to his knees and concentrated as his body healed the veins went away.. he then looked to him..."all the guards need to be on high alert..." he suggested to her father

Avani's eye's widened as she went to him immediately and knelt down next to him, sliding her hand on his shoulder to help him keep up. " you going to be alright hun ?.. your not just saying that to make me feel better are you ?" she was worried now , watching the veins in his neck pop out and turn that awful black color.

He nodded as he tossed the drink out of his glass into the fire, watched it flame up and turn green before going back to yellow and white. " alright. i will put out the word on high alert for the guard's and Lord Devon has already left. Said he would return in three days and if he does he will have a nasty surprise. 'his mood was dark now, pissed off that his friend betrayed him and tried to poison him.

Grabbing some fresh water off the shelf he poured it into a clean glass and leaned down next to Jacent, holding it out to him. " this should help.. your body will need fluid's while its getting rid of that poison and.. i do believe i will give you permission to marry my daughter.. your the best.. and frankly .. i think you would beat the snot out of lord devon as well. considering how many men you practically knocked out tonight."

He smiles..."ill be.OK I promise." He says with a smile as he watched her father toss the glass into the fire...he then nodded his head taking the glass of water and downing it..."thank you sir.....I will try not to dissapoint you." He says with a bow. Whenhe had the strenght to stand he stood back up..."he will have a nasty supprise alright..." he says as he looked to Avani and then to her father.

He nodded eyeing the two while his own mind worked, he knew there had been people out there to get him he just didn't think it would be his own friends. " alright. Avani. take him to rest , that poison can't be good for him at the moment. i will send extra food to you two .. and sir jacent you have yet to disapoint me and i know you won't in the future. "

Avani nodded as she stood up with Jacent, keeping close to him just in case. " aliright. just be sure to put those guards on high alert papa. " glancing to Jacent she watched him even as the Captain of the guards came in from being summoned by a bell outside.

she nodded, glancing around before sighing as she slipped an arm around his waist and headed back to her room since she doubted he would leave her side until Devon got arrested or showed up somewhere else. " yes, thank you ,, you have to teach me that some day.. hey lay down before you fall down okay ? i am not going no where and i will be sure to give you extra water and food. "

she frowned, eyeing him over, leaning close to eye his veins.. " geez i would love to be like you ... well.. not the thing that kept me from feeling, but the quick healer?.. that would be fun i think. " reaching up to lightly trace her fingers over the normal veins now as she looked up at him and smiled. " well. glad your feeling better. you sure you don't need anything?"

she smiled as he kissed her and gently kissed him back, blushing brightly " oh yes definitely .. i agree, i am glad we have his OK. " she blushed more as she leaned back and watched him. " are you positive you want to marry me? heh i hear i can be stubborn and hard headed and difficult to live with, think you can handle that?"

she was teasing him, but it was true, she was very stubborn at times when it came to certain things.

she gasped as he pulled her close and her hands automatically went to his chest, looking up at him her face blushed brightly " you love me?.. are you sure? your still getting used to your emotion's. " she couldn't help the smile on her lips as she leaned up and kissed him warmly " mmm then again i think i love you too. "

she couldn't believe she really got someone with her that she actually liked, anyone else was just.. too annoying to her. it was weird.. and she loved to teach Jacent about things that he didn't know. she was about to kiss him again when she jumped as a knock sounded on the thick wooden door and one of the maids called saying they brought the food. " ohh heh. w hoops. almost forgot."

Blushing she pulled away from him and answered the door. " thank you " taking the tray from the maid she set it down on the small table before getting the drinks as well. " that will be all . " closing the door behind him she turned back to jacent and smiled. " you know.. we should probably behave ourselves until uhh the marriage thing is complete. otherwise ... i doubt we will be spending time out of the bed. "

she smiled , glancing to her bed then back at him and tried her best not to giggle. " well i am fine with you sleeping in here with me tonight.. i don't want to be left alone either.. but. come on. let us eat and talk. i want to know more about everything you do.. and have done and want to do.. " she uncovered the platter's before turning to him, letting him see the food to make sure it wasn't poisoned. " is it safe?.. i uhh don't have your abilities. "

she smiled" just some roasted ham. with some sweet potato's and corn .. it does smell good . " relaxing she picked up two plates and began to pile food on them. " well . are you allergic to any food?" she looked to him and smiled. moving back so he could decide what he wanted to try.

" mmm and what is your favorite color? or have you not thought of it yet?" she wanted to know everything about him, he had to know what he liked and didn't like.

she couldnt stop blushing and it was all because of the words. ducking her head a little to hide her face she took a few sips of her drink.
