She smiled back at him seeing he was pleased with her words. He kissed her once again and she deepened it a little. She was truly falling for him, she wanted him to stay with her till death do they part. she smiled as they broke the kiss. She knew some of the pack overheard her conversation.

When the kiss broke off he laid next to her for a bit... "How do you think the others will react?" he asked. He didn't want to cause any discontent within the pack, though he would do anything to be with her. He wanted the pack's acceptance, though they were all reasonable people.

"I think they will find comfort in a male Alpha" she said with a smile. She knew the pack would cope they may find it a bit hard at first but they would cope. She got up and took his hand "Ready for the outside world again?".

He was going to be an Alpha... something that he had never expected to happen. He took Lith's hand and stood up as well. "Yeah... I'm not fully recovered, that fever took a toll on my body, but I am well enough to walk at least... besides, I could use the fresh air." he said with a smile.

She smiled at him as they headed outside. The pack was close watching the cave and the forest. She nodded and they smiled big at Daniel. She knew the fever would hit him hard, again she wondered how the change would affect him. Some had gone through the change with new talents. She took a deep breath of fresh air.

Daniel breathed the fresh air... He felt different now that he was walking around. He felt as if he had changed slightly. It wasn't anything major... but it was a change. He felt stronger, faster than before... his senses were heightened. He could smell better, see in a sharper image. The world felt as if he was seeing it for the first time... and he wasn't fully changed. He was still human... what would it be like if he was like her? Still he smiled... "It feels good to be up and around again." he said.

She turned to a young boy "Report?" she asked.
"He has two Fems, they aren't dealing with the change well. He has three brutes also. I believe they are from.." she nodded cutting him off.
"Six of them.... Eight of us" she said not counting Daniel. "Keep watch on the fems, I don't think they will stay human for long. Keep watch when there are people around they will shoot wolves. When Coven's down to four we will attack" she said before turning back to Daniel.

Daniel did the count in his head. "Nine, there are nine of us who can fight." he said. He knew that she was counting him out for a reason, but he was useful, he wanted to prove to her that he wasn't just a pup that kept getting in the way, that just kept getting hurt. He wanted to show how he could help. "I wont get hurt, I won't make the same mistakes again." he said.

She gave him a stern look "Eight Daniel." she said. She put a hand on his cheek and looked him in the eyes. "We outnumber him. It will be easy for us. I ask you just this one time please don't fight. I know you can. But it would be on all our minds to protect you if you were there. I don't want to get the pack hurt. There will be another time when we call on you" she said feeling sorry he couldn't fight with them but glad also.

Daniel looked away for amoment. "Alright..." he said. "But, if you get hurt, if I hear about you getting hurt in any way, they had better watch out, because then there will be no force that will be able to stop me." he said looking up into her eyes. He meant every word, if anything was to happen to her, he wouldn't know what he would do.

She took a breath. "Keep an eye on them" she said to the pack before grabbing Daniel's hand and walking away from the cave and the pack. Once they were alone she pulled him into her arms and kissed him. "I can't lose you" she said.

Daniel kissed her back. "You won't..." he said. "You forget... I've been doing this sort of thing for a while." he said. "Hunting... but... if you don't want me to fight. I will stay back." he said. He kissed her once more. "I don't want to lose you either, don't forget to worry about yourself as well... I can't lose you..." he said putting his arms around her. "You mean everything to me now..."

"yeah. I guess I do" she said resting her forehead on his. "I would feel better knowing you are safe." she said. She kissed him back, her arms around his shoulders. "You wont lose me. I've been doing this for a long time. You wont lose me" she said again. She kissed him again and felt a pain inside. She couldn't live if anything was to happen to him.

Daniel put his arms around her waist. This all felt natural... it was right... he nodded. "I'll stay back... I'll stay out of it. I don't want you to be sidetracked and worrying about me." he said. "I love you..." he whispered to her. "I couldn't stand losing you... not now... not ever..." he said kissing her once more sweetly.

She smiled. "Thank you" she said. "Maybe another time you can help. Not that there will be another time. I hope." she said. She smiled at him "I love you to.." she whispered back. "You wont lose me. Not now. Not ever." she said kissing him back. Then they made their way back to the pack.

He walked with her, satisfied with her answer... hopefully she was right. Hopefully they wouldn't have to worry about another attack... and hopefully this will stop Coven. He was glad though... he wouldn't lose her, and he would obey, stay back and let the pack handle this... she didn't want him to get hurt, and a single bite would do it...

She asked another report and sent three men out as scouts. She could smell and her Coven's scouts in the trees. "Daniel I think you should go inside" she said pushing him lightly on the shoulder. She walked toward the tree line and looked into the woods. "Leave us. You chose not to and the pack will hunt you down. We hold territory within miles around this spot. Wolf pack rules apply" she said with a growl.

Seeing slight worry in her eyes, Daniel walked back into the cave, but continued to watch, making sure that she would be alright, and see what was going on. He may not be in the fight, but he wanted to be ready... if she was hurt he would attack...

She walked back to the cave and sat down watching the trees. She was tired of the games. The pack were longing for action but she wanted to wait and see what Coven would do. He wanted Daniel. She would do everything in her power to stop that happening.

Daniel watched as she walked back to the cave, she seemed frustrated... he was like her, he was sick of the little games that Coven decided to play... he wanted something to happen, he wanted them to attack, or provoke one... something that would stir things up around here and get this nastiness over with once and for all. As much as he wanted to help, he obeyed Lith's wishes... he wasn't going to fight... he wanted to, but he wanted her to know that he listened to what she said. He wouldn't rush in blindly.

Just as she thought of the tiring games one of her scouts came running to her panting like crazy and covered in blood. His coat was knotted and blood stained. "What happened" she said rushing to his side as he changed and collapsed in her arms.
"He...They..."
"Shhh slow down, deep breaths Nathaniel." she said trying to get the story from him.
"They set a trap. They got Dersbry" he said as tears ran down his dusty cheeks.
"That's it" she said as another member of the pack came to hold Nathaniel. She threw her clothes to the floor and changed. She took off into the woods the pack following her except Nathaniel and one other who stayed with Daniel.

Daniel listened, enraged by what was said. He wanted to go and hunt, whoever it was that hurt the pack, they would have to pay... but he said that he would stay. He moved to Nathaniel and looked down at him. "Alright, let's get you cleaned up." he said looking at the wounds on his body. "I may not be able to fight, but I sure as hell am going to help the pack." he said looking for something to help clean and treat the wounds.

She ran fast smelling the blood trail Nathaniel left. He was right they had Dersbry. She could smell his blood also. She felt angered to the point of exploding. Once there was a wolf in sight she lunged for the neck and bit down hard.

Nathaniel blacked out as Daniel cleaned his wounds. The other shape shifter stayed outside and watched the cave. Few moments later Coven entered the cave.

Daniel finished. He didn't notice that he was in danger. "There... rest, you will be alright." he said. The wounds were not too terrible, but it would put him out of commission for a bit. He looked up and seen Coven. Immediately he went for his sword. Something always near him. He held it up, standing between Coven and Nathaniel. "You shouldn't have come here... right in the middle of our territory." he said. Another effect of the last bite, he was now very territorial... this was his pack's land, Coven meant harm. "Turn around and leave here now, and you might leave alive." he said.

Coven wandered a bit closer. "Our territory.... Oh she didn't?" he laughed. "She chose you?" he laughed more. "Do you really expect me to turn and leave?" he said leaning against a wall.

The pack took down the two fems who had gone wild. She growled at the other and realized Coven was not here. Her eyes wide with fright as she turned hot on her heals and sprinted to the cave. The pack also clicking and following her. They all ran as fast as they could.
