Keath taken by surprise... he found himself on the ground... her heightened senses easily picking him up. He was practically at her mercy... he looked up seeing the door was not far from him. But... still, if he made a move would she see it coming? He watched as her lips moved back revealing long fangs... he thought of her at his neck... he almost wanted to just lay back... let it happen... no... no he couldn't... his heart pounding. He seen, he could reach the door knob... but she could stop him. He risked it, reaching up for the door...

She didn't see his motion toward the door, focused as she was on his pulsing neck. Bending down, she licked the side of his neck, tasting him. Drawing back slightly, she closed her eyes and shivered in anticipation. "Oh, how I will enjoy this," she whispered cruelly before lunging downward, her fangs bared.

[Chaosmazer]

Feeling her tongue on his neck, he shivered with a slight pleasure, he thought it a miracle that she had not seen his hand. Once more he felt the urge to just let her bite him... still though, he came to his senses, luckily before it was too late. "Sadly, I won't enjoy this..." he said throwing open the door, allowing sunlight to flood into the room.

[Bmare]

Her downward motion abruptly stopped as she flung an arm in front of her face. Screaming, she threw herself from him, trying to crawl away from the light. Her flesh quickly turned red, a very real sunburn, as she managed to get herself away from the direct sunlight. Lying in the corner, she shivered, an occasional wimper breaking the silence in the room as her eyes slowly faded. Wrapping her arms around her middle, she curled into a ball, willing the pain to fade, but knowing it wouldn't. Her now pale blue eyes flicked across the room and fell upon his form lying in the sunlight. "Keath," she whispered, her voice scratchy as she pressed her face into the floor.

Keath quickly closed the door when she said his name. He rushed over to her, seeing that she was now herself as far as he knew. He looked at her his eyes filled with worry and dread. She didn't look good. The poor girl... first she had to deal with the crossbow bolt, and now this... "Kaia..." he said. "Are... you alright?" he asked kneeling next to her.

[Bmare]

She reached out and grabbed hold of the sleeve of his shirt, her knuckles turning white as she gripped the material, wave after wave of pain washing through her. "I'll be fine," she said, her voice cracking slightly. She slowly blinked, her eyes staring across the room, she let out a soft gasp as a particularly agonizing bout of pain flared through her body. She just wanted him to hold her, but at the same time, she didn't, knowing it would hurt badly.

Keath could tell that she wasn't going to feel that great... The sun hurt her horribly... burned terribly. He wanted to take her in his arms, tell her it would be alright... but he knew that it would hurt her. "What can I do, your skin... it looks like you are hurt badly. Is... can I do anything?" he asked. He knew ways to help a sunburn, he didn't know if vampyres were any different with cures than humans. "I'm so sorry..." he said.

[Bmare]

Shifting slightly, she slowly sat up and moved toward him, stopping only when she could press her face into his chest. Wimpering slightly, she closed her eyes against the pain. "There's nothing you can do, this is a reaction of my vampyre blood," she said between gasps of pain, "And since most vampyres die upon contact with the sun, there is nothing to fix it."

[Chaosmazer]

Keath watched her, he wanted to put his arms around her once more... but he knew... he couldn't, it would hurt her even more. That was killing him, the want to make her feel better. Vampyre blood... "What... if you get some fresh blood in you?" he asked. "Will... that help?" he asked.

[Bmare]

She shook her head, then belatedly realize he couldn't see it, instead voicing what she wanted to say. "No," she said, crawling into his lap so he would be forced to hold her, "The vampyre is suppressed for now. But later I will have to have blood, or it will happen again, and it will be worse." She closed her eyes in exhaustion, doing her best to ignore the pain that was pulsing through her body.

Keath looked down at her, putting her arms lightly around her, not trying to hurt her. "You... need blood... badly..." he said. He remembered how narrowly he avoided it last time. He looked at her. "Take it from me..." he said. "If... you think you can control it... I wouldn't mind... if it will help you... please... take it from me." he offered... he couldn't believe what he said... but... he would do anything to help right now. He looked down at her lovingly.

She didn't move, but smiled against his shirt as she felt his arms wrap around her, and his caring words. "It would be of no use now," she said, curling into his chest, "It would be just as useful for you to drink blood." Despite the pain she was in, she managed to put some sarcasm in her words. "But I appreciate the offer more than you could ever imagine," she said into his shirt, "It isn't everyday you hear that from someone who's throat you may have ripped out mere minutes before." Shifting slightly, she sighed, her eyes sliding closed as she battled the pain back.

Keath nodded. "I understand..." he said. "Though... we can't let that happen again... if you are stronger and stronger... I... don't think I will be able to hold you off." he said. "But... for now... just rest..." he said. He would give her anything that she needed... blood, anything. "I wish I could help you..." he said kissing her lightly. "But remember... if you ever need it... I will give you... all that you need." he said. "I love you..." he whispered.

She tried to bury herself deeper into his chest, her arms still wrapped around her middle. "Thank you," she whispered into his chest as the pain reduced to a sharp throbbing, "I love you too! More than you know." Her hand reached up from her midsection to grab hold of his shirt, her fingers wrapping themselves into the fabric.

Placing a hand on hers while it was on his shirt, he kissed her as light as he could... not wanting to hurt her. "Love..." he said. "How... long will it take you to feel better?" he asked. "You poor girl... having to deal with this after you are starting to get over that crossbow bolt." he said. "And... this hideout might not be so safe anymore..." he said. "A guard doesn't come back from a job... suspicious. We should move soon..." he said.

[Bmare]

A quick thought flashed into her head and she couldn't help but snicker at the thought, groaning afterwards. "Look at the bright side," she said, opening her eyes, "I can't feel the bolt wound." She snickered again, grimacing slightly. "We can leave when the sun goes down," she said, grabbing his hand and weaving her fingers with his, "We can move then. We'll have to." Another thought struck her, and she turned to look toward the stairs, "And I want my stuff back," she said, thinking of the mono filament wire and her throwing darts, adding in a meek voice, "It's expensive. And that's my lucky stuff."

Wondering what exactly she was thinking about when she giggled he shrugged it off. "Then... we had best pack." he said. "The dead guard at the bottom the stairs... what do we do with him? Keep him there? Will you... change when you see his blood?" he asked. "I have to pack up some loot, it will take a few trips, but there will be no risk... it is an easy trip. I have a perfect place on the rooftops here... inside of a partially ruined building, kinda like this... only nicer. It used to belong to a rich, but kind man, an accident happened, burning most of the building out... but I restored part of it. It looks nice." he said. He laughed a bit. "Lucky huh? Definitely, we will need all the luck we can get."

She smiled into his chest again before sighing, "No. I won't change. I can't for a few days, regardless of blood or the quantity of it," she said before gathering together her strength and courage. Shifting slightly, she struggled to her feet, placing her hand on the wall to steady herself. Taking a deep breath, she squared her shoulders and dropped her hand from the wall, lifting her chin proudly even though pain was swirling in her eyes.

Keath watched as she stood up, he could see the pain in her eyes, but he didn't want to embarrass her by pointing it out. "Right... lets get ready then." he said. "Soon as the sun goes down, we will get you someplace safe." he said moving next to her.

Nodding once in confirmation, she slowly walked toward the stairs, her boots making noisy (to her ears) thumps on the floor. Reaching the stairs, she slowly descended, stopping only long enough to gather the wire, and coming to a stop beside the guard's body. Grabbing the darts he had missed, she hooked a toe under his hip and flipped him onto his back. Narrowing her eyes at his face, she knelt down and pulled the rest of her darts from his chest, wiping each one off on his clothing. Stowing them away upon her belt, she slipped into the room that had been her home for the last couple days.

Keath followed her, still wanting to wrap his arms around her, hold her close to him... but he had to get ready... he had a lot of loot stashed here... he couldn't get it all in one go. He could come back for the rest... maybe spread some of it about the city before he got back. He grabbed his gear, his picks, his cloaks. Soon he was ready and helped Kaia pack up as well.

She followed him around the room, placing valuables in plain bags. She soon finished and grabbed some of them off the floor, slinging them over her shoulders as she winced in pain. "We should go," she said, turning to look at him grabbing a couple more bags and wrapping them around her wrists.

"Yeah..." he said. "The sun has set by now... enough shadows for cover." he said. He slung a bag over his shoulder, and a few more around his belt... smaller of course. Keath looked to her with a smile. He was worried about her still... but he would help her through this... he didn't want to make her turn into... a monster again. "Alright... lets go." he said heading upstairs. "Follow me... it isn't too far away..." he said darting off into the night. Every now and then he would toss a non fragile valuable on the doorstep of a needy family.

She followed him, exhaustion making her movements sluggish. She smiled as he tossed the valuables upon the doorstep of a needy family. Using the pain as a focusing factor, she trooped onward, her eyes focused on his boots, following him mindlessly. Stumbling slightly, she recovered, refocusing on his boots.

Keath slowed down slightly, letting her follow him easier in her current state. When she caught up he pointed up. "This is the tough part..." he said stopping outside of a three story manor, mostly ruined. "Third window up... second to the left... that is it..." he said. "The rest of the house is in a terrible condition, but that room and a bathroom next to it is in good condition." he said. "I'll be right behind you, if you fall I'll catch you." he said.
