Riley stopped and looked back. "Come on, buddy boy... step your game up. You can do it." she said, but walked back to him anyway, standing as close as she could without touching him. They were on the stairs right now, with Riley standing on one of the higher stairs so she could actually stand eye to eye with him. Having a link with a demon was definately strange. She felt like she wanted him all to herself, like she never wanted him to leave her sight, but at the same time... she didn't actually love him. Her grey eyes stared deep into his, as if searching for the truth. "If you want it.." she whispered, "take it.." she leaned forward a bit more to kiss him, hanging onto the railing to keep her balance. She was actually glad that her brother wasn't watching right now. He'd have her head if he saw this without an alibi first.

He looked into her eyes... his heart sped up... he was feeling the same thing... he moved forward... kissing her, not taking any energy at first... just wanting to kiss her... He moved a bit closer... now he took a bit of energy... feeling it come from her... He broke the kiss, still keeping close. "You still taste good..." he said with a little smile... looking into her beautiful eyes.

"You kiddin? I always taste good." she grinned, looking at him curiously. She started going back up the stairs, but she walked backward so that she still faced him. She had noticed that he actually kissed her before taking some of her energy. She gave a sideways glance once they got to her floor. "Clause... we're friends... we aren't lovers... you won't be getting my help every time you need energy." she said quietly, then walked over to her door, turning the knob...

Clause looked away for a moment... still, trying to hide his mixup... his mistake... the link spell was complex... it was his first time trying it... Still, he looked back to her, a sly smile on his face. "I know... but it's so fun..." he said. "I know you like it at times to... how I take your energy... I can feel it..." he said. He didn't know why he said that... was the link already starting to effect his mind...

"Maybe so..." she admitted, "but that doesn't change the fact that you need sleep." she said, leading him into the apartment and to her room where she let him sleep. "Use the shower if you want to, just get the undisturbed sleep that you need. I'll be in the living room talking with my brother." she said, actually very surprised that Rhoan didn't say anything when they walked inside. Especially not when Clause walked inside. Had she known that the link would affect her this way, she probably wouldn't have done it. She didn't see any harm in trusting the guy... trusting a demon... it was definately something she had never done before, but there was always a first for everything.

Clause walked into the room, looking about... He had taken a bit more energy than he needed from Riley... perhaps... a shower would be nice... He moved into her bathroom and started the water running... his wings were never easy to fit anywhere... but it wasn't too bad here... He washed up for a bit before stepping out of the shower... it felt good to be clean again... Drying off he went to her bed, he undressed and slid into her bed, getting comfortable... he could smell her scent while in the bed... it comforted him... seemingly lulling him into a deep sleep.

As soon as Clause had gone into her room, she walked back out to the living room to sit with her brother. "Rhoan, I'm going to tell you everything, ok? Just chill out for a minute."

He was just about ready to snap before she sat down. It was a good thing she sat down when she did, because if he had gotten up, he would have gone to kick the shit out of Clause and nothing would have gotten in his way. "How come the tracker didn't work?" he asked immediately, looking her straight in the eyes.

"I was in one of the demon realms." she said simply at first, then answered all his corresponding questions, and explained everything. It must have been a good five hours before she had the chance to get everything out. "Then, since he's risked his life to save mine, I figured I would agree to make the link of friendship. All he did was more than enough to earn my trust. You know that more than anybody." she said, "So now, neither I nor Clause can die, because we have this link. So long as it remains, I can do any mission that Jack wants me to, and none of us will have to worry about me." she smiled, glad to see the understanding in Rhoan's eyes.

Rhoan put on some coffee for the two of them, assuming Clause would still be sleeping, then they talked more about the link. Riley was explaining, "It feels weird, though. I'd say that it's just because I've never had the link before, but... it feels much stronger than friendship... and I'll be one pissed off wolf if I find out that I'll never be able to find my true soulmate now."

After a few more words exchanged, they heard movement from Riley's room. Rhoan warned Riley through their thoughts that he thought the link was actually a link of love. If said link turned out to be what Riley feared, Rhoan was not going to allow Clause anywhere near Riley. Since he couldn't kill the bastard, then he'd watch their proximity.

Clause slept... his dreams were of Riley... the link was working... however... he hated it... he hated the fact that... he was now bound for her... forever... that he could never find another to love... that... once more in a way... he was trapped... bound... he hated himself... but... he also found himself hating Riley... it wasn't her fault... but... he couldn't help it... at times, hate was as strong an emotion as love... he would wake much later... he would have to tell Riley... though... he was worried... what would she think...

((I was wondering... maybe turn Clause into a main villain again... I might add a new character... it would make it easy to turn Clause into... well... a real bad guy. What do you think?))

((definately!! I had made another character recently, but hadn't been able to find a spot for her yet. she's a demon half breed, so she could probably play a small role somewhere. but yeah, that's a great idea! the more the merrier! lol ))

Silence fell over the apartment soon. Rhoan and Riley had exchanged all the words they needed to, so there wasn't much of anything else they wanted to say. Until they knew exactly what kind of link Riley and Clause had, nothing could be said or done.

Just as Rhoan was in the middle of drinking his coffee, his boss Jack called him, summoning him to another investigation. Jack wanted Riley to go with him, but once Rhoan got to work, he'd explain. "I've gotta go, sis." he said, gathering his keys, cellphone, wallet, "Just... watch your back, alright?" then without another word, he walked out, and headed back to his car.

Riley, on the other hand, remained in the living room, drinking mug after mug of coffee. There was so much on her mind right now... the link, her being fertile, what Jack would take of this... she was so deep in thought once again, that she wouldn't hear or notice anything going on around her. It was a good thing that Rhoan always locked the door on his way in and out of the apartment.

Clause walked into the room... he was angry... he felt a demon's rage start to build up within him... he suppressed it... it was something that he had been used to... he hated losing control and taking it out on the closest living thing... however... the closest living thing wouldn't die... "Riley... we need to talk about something..." he said. He sat down. Looking up at her... he didn't want to hurt her anymore... the link's effect... but the link was only so strong if the people held in it do not have true feelings towards each other. "Riley... it's... it's about the link..." he said... he couldn't speak for a moment... in her mind... he sent her a message... about... how building a link is difficult... and... the world he screwed up... the stupid fucking syllable that made them more than just friends...

((well, it's more than just a group. I can send you a link to a forum that has Riley's world and the place she works for all explained.. she's from a series of books that I've read. I'd rather you know what her work is all about if you're going to make a character that works with her.))

Riley broke out of her thoughtful trance as soon as he sat beside her. His rage and worry hit her like a hardball, and she looked at him, becomming very worried herself. "What about the link?" she asked slowly, knowing she was about to find out. Then, when he told her...

"You did WHAT?!" she stood up, anger flaring. "You should have made sure that you knew what you were doing! I can't believe you would do this!" she screamed at him, knowing her neighbours would be putting in a few complaints about noise. "I knew it! I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. I knew I shouldn't have trusted a demon. Especially one that had kidnapped me in the first place!" she snapped, her eyes starting to darken. She absolutely hated him now. She would never be able to find her true love... even if she did, she'd never be able to be with him now. Clause was the last man in any realm that she'd imagine having a family with. "You'd might as well reverse my wish, because it's damn well useless now!" she threw her empty mug over to where the kitchen sink was, listening to it shatter as she stared coldly at Clause.

Clause looked to her, seeing her anger. "I was a little pressured... it was my first time doing something like that..." he said, his voice low... but dangerous... Clause was a man of control... he controlled his voice but his anger still made him very dangerous. "You think I did it on purpose?" he said, his voice raising lightly. "You think I would bind myself to you as a lover on purpose?" he said. "You filthy half breed... you only think of yourself... what happens to you, what you have gone through... the nightmare for you was only three days, for me, it was my life..." he said.

"I never wanted to be bound to you like this... but... I'm stuck with you... And you are stuck with me. The quicker you come to terms with that... the better off you will be... if not..." he said. His demon's anger came up in him again... he lost it. He jumped, tackling her, pinning her to the floor. Yelling now. "I didn't escape years of imprisonment just to be bound so closely to a worthless girl!" he said. He looked down at her... he felt the effects of the link... he couldn't hurt her... not yet...

"I half expected you to do the enslavement link. Do to me what you went through all your life." she growled at him, a little surprised when he tackled her, pinning her to the floor. Then, she raised her voice again as well, "Maybe if everyone that I came across wasn't trying to kill or torture me in some kind of way, then I'd think of others! Do not compete with me about how shitty life can be. You have no idea what I've been through either!" she snapped, wanting to throw him off of her, but she knew it would hurt him... the link wouldn't allow her to hurt him... However, then... he called her worthless. "If it weren't for me, you'd be dead in just a few hours. Do NOT call me worthless! You know I'm far from it!" she then put all her strength into trying to push him over, to make him lose his balance so that she could get up.

When she mentioned the enslavement link, he smiled at her. "You know... that isn't a half bad idea... I can override love with enslavement if I add enough power to it..." he said. He couldn't do it with a friend link... if he could, this whole thing wouldn't be that big of a problem... "You, my little slave... force you to go around and do my bidding... whatever it might be..." he said holding her down, he felt her start to struggle... "You know... I might not be able to hurt you... but nobody said anything about a little kiss..." he said moving down. trying to press his lips to hers... with a bit more energy... he could enslave her...

"Oh, no you don't." she warned, trying to twist her body so that he couldn't kiss her, trying to hide her mouth in her shoulder. She still used all of her strength in just trying to move him away from her, even if it was just a little bit at a time. However, at the same time, conflicting thoughts occurred. The link made her want to kiss him, just for the sake of kissing. A symbol, an act of affection. She even tried using her telepathy. However, she had to get passed his mental shields before she'd be able to physically control him. Getting passed his shields would definately take time, and she didn't have much time at all right now. She pressed into his mind anyway, trying to override his shields as she continued to attempt pushing him away. It was strange that she could barely even make him budge. She wasn't used to fighting against men with this much strength.

"I told you before Wolfie... I never fought you at my full strength..." he said. He could feel her trying to press into his head... he hoped that he had enough time... just a kiss... it was all he needed... once their lips connected it was all over for her... but if she managed to control him, he would possibly lose his only chance at her. He just needed to make that one little connection. He doubled his efforts...

He was pinning her to the ground so easily it seemed, and her muscles where he was pressing down on her suddenly exploded in pain, as if she just pulled the muscles. She tried to scream into her shoulder, but her shoulder did not allow much air to enter her lungs, so she had to move to breathe. However, when she did move, she couldn't move away again quickly enough. Her lips connected with his, and she knew right then and there... Goodbye sanity. She felt like crying as she could feel his power... she could feel her energy being stolen by him, and she hated him for it. She could even say that she thoroughly hated him. Now she had to put up with being fertile, finally having gotten the one wish she ever truly had... and not being able to do anything about it.

Clause felt her energy start to pour into him... letting in much more this time... though it also satisfied the love link between them... he felt warm inside... though little warm fuzzies wasn't going to stop a demon like him... he had enough energy now to cast. He smiled. He kept her awake for this one though... he wanted her to be awake the moment she lost her freedom. "You know Wolfie... I think you are going to make a wonderful slave... I just need to teach you some obedience..." he said cruelly.

He started to speak in the demonic tongue... words that would shatter the love link... she would feel as if a collar was being placed around her neck... a sign of ownership... she would only have the privileges that he allowed her... or she would face severe pain... the same that he had to put up with for so many years... "You're mine..." he said once the link was complete...

Even after so much energy had been taken from her, her heart raced as she heard him speak in his strange language again. Riley couldn't live without freedom. A part of her would feel like death if he actually made the enslavement link. Maybe he was just kidding around... but then, she could have sworn that a collar had formed around her neck as he spoke. Even when he said that she was his... she didn't want to believe it. "No.." she whispered at first, but then after a moment of staring at him in disbelief, realization and that old trapped feeling settled in. She would have tried pushing him off of her again, or hurting him in some sort of way, but now she had no energy for it. Tears started falling from her eyes, and she looked away from him, not wanting to admit defeat.

"Don't worry Wolfie... Master will take care of you..." he said stroking her hair lightly. Clause could practically tell what she was thinking. "You know... sometimes a Master can be kind and caring..." he said. "But... yours is a demon... so don't think you will be having that luxury..." he said standing up. "Stand... you're coming with me..." he said. "We are going to be leaving this place... you won't exactly be seeing your brother again... I'll be working on a way to jam your signals... you won't be able to even be near each other." he said. "I'm thinking about a new city... someplace for us to wreck havoc on... what do you say Wolfie?" he asked.

She sat up, wiping her eyes dry. "I'm not going anywhere with you! I'm staying here with my brother!" she said, but then hesitantly stood up anyway. "I just got back. You can't make me leave so soon again." her voice sounded hopeful. Riley crossed her arms, trying to stand her ground. She felt as though something was pushing her toward Clause, but kept her feet planted where they were. "Besides, my name is not Wolfie. I'm not responding to that anymore." she told him, meanwhile trying to send a mental S.O.S. to Rhoan. She had no idea what Clause was willing to do to her... she couldn't die... so, he could do literally anything he wanted... Until they were far away from her hometown, she had about ten nonhumans that were ready and willing to track her down and save her. Little did her friends know that this demon couldn't die, and little did this demon know, that she had an invisible tracking device in her ear, and it worked so long as they remained on earth.

Electronics was not a strong point for Clause. He couldn't detect anything like that... but a mental S.O.S. he could defiantly sense that. He willed a jolt of pain to run through her body, a small punishment. "Now Wolfie... you act as if you have a say in the matter..." he said with a cruel smile. "Come... I'll be nice to you though... we will stay on Earth... other realms are so boring..." he said as he started walking to the door. "Remember Wolfie... if you don't act like the dog you are... you get punished... but if you do good... you get a reward..." he said with a little smile. "Now come on... I know a life of slavery isn't what you wanted... but not everyone gets what they want..." he said

Her eyes widened, and her mouth opened as if to yell out in pain, but it didn't last long enough for her to yell. Her energy was slowly building itself back up now, as her heart was working extra hard right now. After having thought about it a moment, she should probably go to the Directorate to get the device removed. Her friends would be killed if they tried to free her, or if they tried to kill Clause. Even worse, she'd probably be the one to kill them. "I am not a dog." she said darkly, her voice filled with anger. She stepped forward, following him out the door, not bothering to lock it after she walked out. This was definately the end of her sanity... she wondered if she'd still be as sensitive to silver as she ever was... if not that much more sensitive to it... Riley tried to look on the bright side... at least she couldn't die, and at least he wasn't calling her Little Wolf like a past maniac had called her all the time. That would bring back painful memories...
