Liz smiles and says good-bye before going inside the gate. Her father rushes to her and asks, “Since when do you know a Na’vi?” She says, “Just today, I was going to tell you father.” He says, “No wonder you want to be in our Avatar program.” She smiles and says, “He is going to escort us while we look at the plants. Oh and I got a specimen for you to look at. It shows the most promise.” They go inside and do some tests on the plant.

he watched her going inside before smiling to himself. he knew helped a bit . that plant he knew had plenty of healing qualities. his people used it normally for burns and nasty gashes they usually got from certain animals. . shaking his head he headed back home for the night.

When morning came true to his word he did what he needed at his home before heading out once again to do his main duty and to watch the humans.he had a pack ready this time as he waited in a tree , watching the gates and watched the activities at the colony.

Liz was eager to get out of the gates happiness clear to see in her eyes. Her father not far behind her as he knew she eager to see more plant life. She sees Ares in the tree and says in Na’vi, “Hello Ares. I hope we did not keep you waiting too long.” Her father and the body guards look at where she was looking still not seeing him.

he smiled as he shook his head responding to her in his own language'' not at all. you seem better today'' he moved before jumping down, smiling as he watched the guards jump back in a bit of surprise'' you can see me easily and yet.. they cannot.. this is interesting''

Liz looks at him and says in his language, “Not everyone knows where to look for you.” She looks at her father as he looks at Ares in amazement and she smiles happily. He says to her, “I never thought I would ever get to meet a Na’vi.” She says, “Dad this is Ares.” She says to Ares, “Ares this is my father, Doctor Nicolas.”

he smiled'' and yet you do. its amazing since you haven't even known our ways just yet.. '' he looked over to her father, giving another smile as he stood up straight. glancing at her before back at him. switching to english even though he didn't know much , what he knew was what he learned on his own from just watching her and the guards.. '' good to meet you.'' he immediately switched back to his language as he turned to her '' i don't know much .. you may have to translate for me.''

Liz nods and says in Na'vi, "I will translate for you Ares. But I won't have to do that much. My dad does not talk much." Her father starts heading to where he was yesterday. She follows after him proudly wearing the necklace Ares gave her.

he relaxed and nodded before following the two of them '' well then that is a relief. i do not know much of your language.. it is hard to learn by yourself'' he shrugged as he watched her father.. '' tell him to head to the right.. there is a clearing that has an abundance of flowers and assorted plants.. it is safe, not many animals go there. ''

Liz tells her father to go to the right and he goes there calmly. She says to Ares, "I will teach you how to speak my language if you want." She looks after her father as he was looking very pale today. She says to her father, "Go back to the colony dad. You need to rest. I will do the scans."

he nodded slightly before looking around'' i have nothing much to teach you in return. other then the plants that is..'' he glanced at her father before frowning as he looked back at her'' do i need to take him back? I could get him something rest on .''

Liz says, "I am not going to teach you just to be taught something in return. I am doing it because you are my friend." She helps the guards take her dad back to the gate before heading back out to the plants to get the scans like they needed..

he nodded, helping her as well to get her father back before taking her back to the clearing. '' focus on the plants in the middle. they are the ones we normally harvest for some of our healing aids.. '' he sat down , getting comfortable as he watched the guards move about to make a safe perimeter. '' i would like to give something in return though. even as a friend. ''

Liz says scanning the flowers, "But you don't need to Ares." She tenses up as she has a bad feeling about something that was going to happen. She looks at the guards as they knew that when she had a bad feeling, she was usually right.

he frowned, getting up again and looking around, easily picking up on her uneasyness.. '' what is it? what do you feel ?" he was surprised to know that she followed her instincts..

Liz says, "Something is coming our way." Before she knew what hit her, the cougar like creature that attacked yesterday had a hold of her arm. She winces but keeps her cool as she mimics the sound it makes to make it let her go. It slowly lets go of her and runs off.

he tensed before he had a change to do anything the creature had already ran off. moving over to her he hissed slightly at the guards to get them to back off as he knelt down next to her. '' easy. don't move'' he reached up and carefully rolled up her sleeve to get a good look at the bite. '' its deep.. you will need help''

Liz looks at him sadly as her arm felt like her arm was going to fall off. She says, “It will be back for more soon with it’s pack.” The guards go get a med kit but her arm would not stop bleeding. She looks at them and says, “Go tell the med team to be ready for a work out.” She looks at Ares and asks, “Can you help me back to the gate?”

he nodded slightly before digging in his pack, wrapping her arm with some clothe he had to help it stop bleeding' i know. and i am sorry i was not quick enough to protect you '' he finished before picking her up easily . placing her on his shoulder as he headed back to the gate'' you will be fine. i am sure your people have great medicine. '' smiled as he looked up at her.. '' that animals bite is not worse then its bark.. you are lucky its claws did not get you''

Liz looks at him and says, “My father is going to be going crazy at the sight of my arm.” She looks around and says, “After I get back to the gate, I want you to hurry home. I don’t want you to get hurt.” When they get back to the gate, a medical team quickly gets her into surgery. For three hours they work on reattaching half her arm. Replacing part of her arm bones with metal.

he watched them take her but instead of going home he waited. going up into one of the tree's he always hides in as he sighed. hoping she was going. the beast had done a number on her but atleast she was alive. if she was allowed out again he would have to ask her some things. and he was pretty sure her guards where going to get a huge talking to as well. he just wished they would realize that the jungle is more dangerous then the ones they are used to. they can't just have a small amount of people protecting one. they need atleast a large group.

For four days Liz was in recovery and was not allowed to go back into the forest until she was fully healed. However they could not stop her from going out to the gate where she knew Ares was watching for her. She could not go out to him though to talk to him or reassure him that she was okay. She holds onto the necklace he gave her and hopes he would know she was okay.

he kept coming back each day, sometimes he would catch a glimpse of her and other times he wouldn't though he had a feeling she was doing great. atleast from what he was seeing though he knew they where not letting her out of the gate. it was ok , he knew it was for the best, though he did miss talking to her. he would wait until they would let her out , and he would be there for her.

Liz comes out of the gate after three weeks with a sad look on her face. Tears were coming down her face as the group of guards escorted her to the flowers Ares had shown her. Her father had died three days after she had been allowed to roam through the colony. She was determined to continue her father’s work no matter what.

he watched her come out through the gate, and knew instantly that something had happened, jumping down he ignored the looks from her guards and went straight to her, kneeling down to be at her level '' i am sorry liz.. wish i could have helped more.. '' he reached out and pulled her close, he may be big but he atleast could still give a small hug. '' i hope he passed peacefully..''
