"If you say so." Blood on the Dance Floor? What kind of name was that? Alec had heard ridiculous names before, but this one just won that. "Umm, I think we'd get a lot of stares, and I think someone could call the Mundane cops on us for profanity?" Alec wasn't sure, did people get called on for overuse of profanity? Maybe if it disturbed the peace. That song would stir something up, that was for sure. Especially if parents and young children were there. "Lithuanian would be better to hear it in." Then no one would understand, except they'd catch the blush Alec would most likely have, and the evil smirk from Magnus.

"I'm not scared of the Mundie cops" Magnus snickered. "I'm the High Warlock of Brooklyn. They can't do anything to me" he would like to see them try to lock him up for singing to his lover. "Lithuanian it is. I'll teach you, eventually. Dirty words first, just so you understand when I'm hitting on you. Well, I'm sure you'd get it from my tone, but you'd understand what I was saying" he looked up at the ceiling for a moment before back down to Alec's clear blue eyes. "Want me to sing some more for you?" he asked, a smirk making it's way onto his face. He had a few choice lines from BOTDF songs picked out.

"Yeah, and fighting back is exactly the best thing to do to Mundane cops. Especially when they have no idea how you're doing it." Mundane cops seeing Magnus having sparks flying out of his hands. They'd run before they could pull out a gun. Or maybe they'd pull the gun out, try to shoot, wonder why it isn't hitting, then run. Dirty words were usually the first thing people went for, so then they could cuss someone out and the person would have no idea what was going on. "Um, if all their songs sound like that, I don't know if I want to hear it..." Alec said, eye twitching. Magnus would find the dirtiest of songs and memorize them.

"Violence doesn't solve everything. I can simply make them forget what they were doing, and walk away. Or freeze them in place and we can leave" Magnus really did love being a warlock. And he didn't care if he had a big head about it. He mock-pouted, trying his best to look hurt, and he took pride in being a good actor. "But they're not all like that! Are you sure you just don't want to hear me sing?" he got his voice upset sounding as he could, but he knew Alec would see right through his charade instantly. He was nowhere near insecure.

"Violence should be used only when necessary. Actually, it should be avoided in the first place." Weird, coming from a Shadowhunter, who fought for a living. "Umm, sure. Show me, show me a couple songs that aren't all like that," Alec said, half challengingly. Magnus was being a queen and pretending he was hurt on Alec not wanting to hear his songs. Alec would let him, but if this group was as they sounded, he'd like to hear Magnus try for a song not as filthy, just to see. Maybe Magnus would just choose a different group that wasn't quite to profane. Alec didn't care about profanity. He was just testing Magnus at this point.

Magnus raised an eyebrow when Alec said that violence should be avoided, thinking about his fiance's profession, but he shrugged it off. Jace would have said that violence was always the answer, he knew. He smiled brightly when he was told to show Alec some songs that weren't dirty by them. "It's so hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world, you got my heart, and it's beating for a. . . ehh" he faltered, before improvising, "boy! It's so hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world you got my heart, and it's beating for a boy! We'll throw it up, we'll throw it up! Go ahead and party it up, go ahead and party it up!" he stopped, not daring to go any farther, since that was where it got dirty.

Alec raised an eyebrow when he heard Magnus stop and start again, having sounded like he was rethinking something for a moment. "Um, throwing up? What are they throwing up?" Alec asked, confused. Music confused him sometimes. Most of the time when it wasn't straight forward. "Is that how the rest goes, or is it just like the rest of the songs?" Magnus didn't seem to want to put more into the song, unless he just repeated the lyrics he'd just done. Alec couldn't remember the last time he'd listened to music he had wanted to listen to. He'd hear Isabelle's music sometimes, or Magnus', like now, but the last time he'd wanted to listen to something of his own choice, he couldn't recall.

"Well, Im not exactly sure. I've never exactly bothered to find that out, surprisingly" Magnus mused, smiling slightly. He would have to figure that out. When the question about why he stopped came up, he grinned. "I just don't remember the rest of the song" he lied smoothly, but his grin made the lie obvious. All Blood On The Dance Floor songs were dirty. Except maybe one. And he didn't listen to that one very often, so he couldn't even be sure. "I think you'd like them" he nodded, amusement plain in his green-gold eyes.

"Uh-huh, you don't remember the lyrics to a song, but you remember two hundred different and what sound complex, languages." Magnus could lie if he wanted to, if he wasn't smiling through the entire lie and looking like he was ready to burst out laughing. "You think I'd like it? Why? I don't even know what kind of music I like." He didn't listen to it often enough. There wasn't much of a point to him. You sat there and listened to music, what else was there to do? It was just sound with a tune. Isabelle used it like it was her life source, Magnus used it for entertainment. What was the main point of it anyway?

"Course. Why would I ever memorize song lyrics? Psshhht" Magnus snickered slightly. He quite enjoyed that song, actually. He liked diamons, he liked rhinestones, he liked sex, and he liked BOTDF. Perfect song for him. "You don't know what kind of music you like!?" Magnus was startled, and he half sat up underneath Alec, eyes wide. "Oh my god. Just. . . holy shit. I'm going to force you listen to every song in the world until you find something you like!" he knew Alec wasn't into pop culture and such, but music had been around since the beginning of time. He didn't understand how Alec could possibly just not know.

"Yeah, Magnus, okay." Alec rolled his eyes, shaking his head slightly. He had noticed it didn't take much to get a song memorized, let alone stuck in one's head. Thanks to Isabelle, he knew a lot of her music. He knew he didn't like R&B music. Jace used to listen to a lot of heavy metal or screamo, on the occasion country. Country was boring, and whatever else he listened to wasn't very clear to understand. It wasn't bad, but he didn't care at the same time. "Um, every song in the world?" What if he just lied and chose the first type of music Magnus showed him?

Magnus settled back down, still shaking his head in disbelief. "Yes, every song in the world, no matter the language or content" he nodded. He was sure Alec would find something before he had to really start looking, but still. "I've got three thousand songs on my ipod. . . its not originally supposed to hold that much, but I modded it" he shrugged, snapping his fingers and a bright pink iPod nano appeared in his hand. He had a feeling Alec would like the softer music, so he would go for that first. He held out one side of the headphones, slipping the other in his ear and starting to flip through his music, looking determined.

Alec took the other piece of the headphones, three hundred songs to go through? That sounded a little extensive to Alec. He'd find something he liked quickly, and then hope Magnus would be satisfied with one or two songs and they could be done with it. With any luck Magnus would show him under a hundred songs. Magnus had that look when he really wanted to get Alec into something, and wouldn't stop until that something happened to a degree. Then he might keep asking until he really believed Alec had gotten it into his system.

Magnus flipped through songs, settling on The Fray, a band he thought Alec might like, hopefully. He scrolled down through the songs and picked one, Fall Away. He quite liked that song. He hit the middle button, selecting it and settling down to listen, watching his lover for a reaction. He couldn't believe that Alec didn't know what he liked. What type at least. If Alec told him what he didn't like about the songs he showed him, he could build on that. It shouldn't be too hard to at least find the style of music he would like.

Alec had liked the beginning of the song, until the voice actually sang. The lyrics were nice, he thought, but it was the weight of the voice they used that made it sound depressing. "Umm, something not so...lonely, maybe," Alec said, recalling Isabelle listening to these kinds of songs after a boy dumped her. She'd beat down on herself with these, singing to them off key. Magnus would know how to pick songs out for him, Alec didn't really care what he heard. What other chance would he be listening to this stuff again, exactly? If Alec had one of these things Magnus had, it didn't look that hard to use, maybe. But when would he remember he had it and actually use it?

Magnus raised an eyebrow slightly when Alec spoke. Lonely? He thought about it for a moment, seeing what he meant. That was just the singer, so he would find another band to choose from. He paused the song and flicked through again, heading up to The Cab. He looked at the songs for a moment before picking One Of Those Nights. It was a different style completely, but it was still normal enough that he thought Alec would appreciate it more than some of his others. He was going to avoid some of the more upbeat and explicit things, unless he slipped some Blood On The Dance Floor in there to see his reaction.

Alec listened to the music now, finding it nearly opposite of the thing he'd just listened to. He liked this one enough. It was cheerful but not overly loud and obnoxious. He supposed he could get used to it with enough of it, maybe. "It's...." He looked for a word to describe it exactly, instead of just saying one thing and letting Magnus think it too much of that thing. "Decent," he finished, hoping it would work. "Something like this, I guess?" Well, out of however many more Magnus wanted to show him, he liked this kind just enough to care, for now.

Magnus watched Alec's reactions, raising an eyebrow as he seemed to search for the right word. "Decent? Well that's a start" he shrugged. At least they were getting somewhere, and Alec was getting some education in music at the same time. "Something like this. . ." he muttered to himself, flipping through again. He picked a song a few down, by the same band. "I'm a Wonder. I think it suits me" he grinned, just from the name. Some of the lyrics he liked to think fit too, but other people might not feel the same way.

Alec listened to more of the music, finding that some were okay, and some were boring or obnoxious. He didn't mind them, he supposed, for some of them. Some of the others just played and he half listened to them. What they were hearing now, maybe he'd listen to it when he was bored enough. It was kind of a filler thing for music, he guessed, that if there was nothing better, he'd put it on for the noise and possibly the tune and voices. Was there music he'd actually find enjoyable and listen to for the sake of hearing it? Maybe, maybe not, they had yet to find something along those lines.

Magnus had an idea more or less of what Alec didn't mind, but there was nothing yet that he really liked. He had his eyes half closed and he had put the ipod on shuffle, so songs played, and he occasionally skipped songs, if he knew there was no way Alec would like them. If I had You was playing, and the song cut off suddenly. Magnus frowned, looking down at the pink device in his hand. "It died" he stated, making a face. "Well, you'll have to educate yourself. Music is your friend, darling" he stole a quick kiss, pulling the headphones away, taking the piece out of Alec's ear, and he dropped it on the floor carelessly.

Had they really just spent however long listened to random music naked on the couch? Alec thought, somewhat amused, something he had never thought he'd do in life. "Maybe some other time," Alec said, kind of doubting he'd really remember to listen to music. He didn't think he'd remember any of the songs or things at all. He had kind of liked that last song that was playing, it reminded him of Magnus, if he wanted to think of himself being the target of interest that the singer was going on about. That was a good while spent. Alec looked at the clock, surprised by how much time had gone by and he hadn't realized. "We should probably get dressed," he said, having just lain out for the longest time ever, completely naked.

Magnus knew Alec probably wouldn't, but maybe he would remind him sometimes. It would be worth it, if Alec found what he liked and such. He glanced at the clock, grinning. He liked lying around naked with Alec, just wasting time. "Hmm, I suppose you're right. But I still don't know where your pants or underwear went" he smirked slightly. They would turn up eventually. He supposed Alec would just get clean ones from the bedroom. He was fine with staying naked, but if Isabelle turned up, he was sure both of the Lightwoods would appreciate if he was wearing clothes.

"I just hope no one else finds them, where ever you put them," Alec said, shaking his head. Some places were odd to find his missing clothing, and he always hoped those places were left alone so he could find them first. He got up from the couch, from Magnus' warm side. Now that he thought about it, being completely naked in the house wasn't the warmest, but it wasn't nearly as cold as being naked in the Institute. It was comfortable, he'd say. "Um, I'm going to find new clothes, then," he said, walking to the bedroom for the stuff he usually kept in there. What about clothes....? He might need to borrow some of Magnus' clothes, since his weren't allowed to be anywhere near Magnus' glorious clothes in the closet.

"I can't make any promises" Magnus shrugged, sitting up. It was a bit cooler with Alec gone from him, but it took a lot to make him actually cold. He hooked his boxers up with two fingers, pulling them on without getting up. He lay there for a moment more before realizing his pants were outside the bathroom door. He shrugged and got to his feet, walking past the clothes and into the bedroom, having no problem with walking around in just the short, tight boxers. "Oooh, do I get to play dress-up?" Magnus asked, grinning as he walked up behind Alec, who was still naked.

"U-um, dress up?" As much as Alec might fear to admit it, yes, Magnus might get to play dress up. He didn't want to actually say yes, but if he said no then Magnus might tease him and play it hard to get the clothes. He grabbed a spare pair of boxers, needing to buy some more sooner or later because they always seemed to disappear after sex. He had a couple more pairs left, maybe he'd go shopping later and buy a package of pants. "I might need some clothes until I make a stop to the Institute to get more..." Magnus would hopefully not choose the brightest, sparkliest, tightest things he had.
