Drake says, “I understand that you still feel guilty but you should know by now that it was not your fault.” He knows pretty much everything now of what she had done to herself after the accident. He says, “My love if you did not want to be turned so soon, I would find a way to hide you from the elders. But you are wanting to become a vampire to be with me.”

Nodding Brook chewed her bottom lip "I am getting better" She sighed. She didnt admit that he was one of the biggest reasons why she was doing so much better .He made her forget but then that made her feel guilty when she was alone. She softly kissed his neck and breahted in his scent. It was like nothing she had ever smelled before, it was so tempting and delious smelling.

Shaking her head at his next statement she stroked his cheek "My love it has nothing to do with that" She let a tear escape her eye "I love you and I want to be with you for all eternity" She paused letting that sink in. "I just want your family to have more time to get used to me is all" She leaned down. "I am willing to become a vampire for you I am willing to face the elders for you, Drake I am willing to die for you"

Drake kisses her on the neck and says, “My love I understand but to me I would hate myself if I forced you to become a vampire because of my fear of losing you. If I were to lose you after waiting this long for us to meet, I would lose myself to all the darkness I fight back every day. I would become the monster vampires are known to be.”

Shaking her head she looked down at Drake. "You are not forcing me to do anything." She began to shake thinking that he was planning on backing out. "Drake I love you andI want to be with you forever" She was on the verge of tears. "I hated the idea of coming to this town, I knew that I wouldnt be able to hide, everyone would know my story.but I was happy to be coming back to my dad, and then I met you"

She looked into his eyes. "I have said before that if you leave me I will fall into my darkness again" She looked at him. "I just dont want to offened your friends"

Drake looks at seeing her on the verge of tears. He strokes her cheek and says, “Baby I am not saying I am going to leave you lover. I am just saying losing you because of the pressure to be a vampire.” He strokes her cheek and says, “I love you and I am not going to leave you forever. I may need to go places on my own.”

Taking a few deep gulps of air to calm herself down she nodded. "Alrightt as long as we got that clear" She laid back down into his chest and did her best to keep her heart rate down. She swallowed hard as he went on. "What do you mean lose me because of the pressure, doesnt that mean I am going to stay with you" She asked innocently.

She kissed him softly to show him that she understood about her having to leave her at times. She wondered for how long, but she also understood that they would have to be apart at least at times.

Drake looks in her eyes and says, "I mean setting a date for your turning because of the elders. We should be deciding the date on our own terms." He strokes her neck before placing a few sweet kisses on her neck. He says, "There are certain places new borns can't go until they have control over their thirst." He tenses up some as he hears some troublesome arguments from his friends.

Brook looked at him as he looked into his eyes. It still made her a bit nervous that he could see into her soul but she was getting used to it. She closed her eyes as he stroked her neck and kissed it.

She thought about the date. Her 18th birthday was coming up that would put her one human year older. She was about to bring it up when she felt him tense. "Drake what is it?" She cocked her head to the side. With the blinds drawn she wasnt even sure what time it was. Not that it mattered, but she was concered for him. "What is wrong baby?"

Drake says, "My friends are fighting again over some stupid car." He groans some and says, "Angie crashed her seventh car this week. She loves to street race. But I am not going to buy her another one." He kisses her neck trying to ignore their fighting. He says, "Are you alright my love? You have a lot on your mind and I really don't want to keep invading your mind."

Hearing that one of his friends liked to street her entire body went rigid and then she began shaking. Suddenly she stood up and started pacing, which must of looked a sight because she was starke naked.

"No no no no no no" She kept saying. "No street racing" She began to shake then turned to look at him. "She street races??" She half screamed. "She was wrecked 7 cars in a week" She swallowed hard. "I cant belive this" She shook her head. "After all I have been through she street races" She began to pace more then collasped on the bed as if someone had suddenly calmed her. She attempted to get up but felt as if an invisable force was pinning her down she looked at Drake confused. "Areyou doing this?" She shook her head "Suddenly I feel calm but I should be angry"

She licked her lips. "And I cant get up"

Drake quickly get her off the floor and says, "No hun I am not doing this to you. I don't have the power too." He puts her to bed and sniffs the picking up the scent of another vampire. He looks around searching for the vampire's thoughts. He says, "Hun I want you to stay quiet. I am going to have my friends guard this house."

Hearing that he wasnt doing this, and his face let him know that it wasnt one of his family members doing it either made it all the worse. She started to panic, but she could feel his worry so she simply nodded and closed her eyes waiting for him to come back to her, to tell her that his friend had never hurt someone in the crashes, to tell her that everything was alright that who ever was doing this to her didnt mean harm. She still felt as it someone was forcing her to lay down and forcing her to calm down and even grow tired.

She fought it though trying to stay awake for Drake. To hear Drake tell her that it was arlight.

Drake looks at her and says, “You are going to be alright my love.” He covers her up and kisses her forehead gently. He says, “My friends will be here to guard the house. I am going to see who is doing this.” Angie and the boys appear in the room and Angie says, “We can protect her brother. Go see why Jewel is here.” Angie and the boys stand on guard ready to fight. Drake disappears to meet the elder vampire Jewel.

Nodding to Drake she tried to calm down, she knew that he would do eveything he could to keep her safe. She smiled as he covered her. She grew nervous as he mentioned his friends. They were going to come here? Her question was ansered as they all suddenly appeared in her room. She eyed them knowing that she was a temptaion for them.

She attempted to sit up but found that she still couldnt she gave up with a sigh of frustration and looked at the friends and smiled meekly at them "I guess you know I am brook" She looked at the boys that she had a feeling hated her worse. "I am sorry you have to do this, I dont know what is happening"

She watched as Drake dissapered and she looked at the friends, she felt bad because she knew that they were most likely tempted by her scent.

Angie looks at her a moment and says, “We don’t mind you. It is your choice that we hate and that you have put our brother and dear friend in this difficult position. Challenging the elders could result in his death and your own. Therefore he has no choice but to endure the pain of turning you.”

Drake meets Jewel in a field. Her golden cloak hides her face from his. He asks, “Why are you hindering my mate’s will?” She smiles and says, “Your mate is causing a lot of worry for us elders. She may want to tell her father what she is to become.”

Listening to Angie, Brooks heart broke. "I know it is a hard place I have put Drake in. I would gladly die for him. If I knew it wouldnt destory him I would make it so he would never have to lay eyes on me again" She felt a tear fall from her face but she could not lift her arms to wipe it away.

She looked at Angie since she seemed to have the least bit of hatred towords her. "Surely you heard about my accident" She would have shown her arms but again she was finding it hard to move. "I was suppose to die that night, and until I moved here I wished I had" She licked her lips. "If you can find a way that would not hurt Drake, but would save him from the pain of changing me then I am all ears." She looked at his friends. "I would gladly die for him, for any one of you, I am sorry that I am going to hurt him"

Angie sighs and says, “Sadly there is no way for us to get around you becoming a vampire. The elders know of you and Drake’s bond, so it’s either you become a vampire or he kills you. The elders don’t see humans as people. They see them as food and nothing more. So they don’t understand why he does not just drain you dry.”

Chris the one twin with a dragon tattoo on his cheek says, “You are to become Drake’s bride therefore we need to protect you the best we can no matter what.”

Drake says, “She won’t tell her father what she is going to do. She just wants her father to see her graduate before she leaves him forever.” Jewel looks at him a moment and says, “Very well Drake. May you lead your coven into a better future than your father did.” She disappears and heads back to the house.

Brook was still crying silently. Regretting that she had come into Drake's life, in her mind she had ruined his life. Risked his convon's happiness and ability to stay where they were. She nodded to her explaination about the elders. So there was really no choice. "I still would die for him" She whispered.

Turning her attention to the twin that spoke. "I am sorry, I know you dont like me" She licked her lips "I am sorry" She slowly began to feel a bit better, well less held down. She smiled at them. "Thank you for protecting me, even if the person I need most protection agaisnt happens to be myself"

Chris looks at her again and says, “We don’t hate you so please quit assuming we do.” Conner smiles some as he sees Drake coming back. Drake says as he comes through the window, “Jewel left. She was just making sure we were sticking to our plan.” He looks over at Brook and asks, “Why is Brook crying?” Angie says, “She thinks we hate her and we don’t.”

Nodding Brook tired to calm herself. She wanted to belive that they didnt hate her but she was risking their exisiant and Drakes life. She turned to Drake as he came in but still felt a bit too weak to jump up to him so slowly she sat up but the world was spinning and she brought a hand to her head.

She heard what Angie said and blushed but couldnt look up. "I know what I asked of you was unfair, and I am willing to die for you Drake" She of course was worried about how her dad would take to losing her, but he would get over it, she could make it look like an accident. Licking her lips again she looked around the group and tried to make light lif the situation "So I guess you dont need my sweater now huh?"

Drake looks at her as she sits up. He lays her back down and says, “It will take a few hours for you to be able to move again.” Angie says, “We still need to get use to your scent Brook. But we do not have you for anything that has happened. The boys did the safe for me when Conner found me. But unlike you I did not choose to become a vampire. This life was forced on me be Drake’s father.”

Nodding Brook made no further attempts to sit up. She sighed. "I guess I have a way of upsetting people" She continued to watch and listen to the friends. She then pointed to a sweater. "I had planned on Drake giving that to you so you could get more used to my scent."

She frowned as Angie continued "I know you dont understand me, but from my accident I am at a risk for infections, I could die any day with no warning" She looked up at them. "My father is the only one that is tying me to this world, I have no one" She paused " I mean like no...well you know othe then him" She shook her head. "I am sorry it was forced upon you but I see no life out side of Drake and you all"

Angie and the boys take the hoodie and go home. They needed to go hunting after all of this. Drake picks Brook up in his arms and puts her in a comfortable chair. Then he removes the sheets off the bed so he could wash them. He puts the dirty ones in the washer before putting cleans on her bed. He asks, “Are you hungry my love?”

Watching Angie and the boys leave she sighed. Still thinking that they didnt like her too much. She knew they were most likely jelous of her because she still had the choice and in their mind she was probably thinking tht she was making the wrong one. But it really wasnt even her choice anymore, Drake was tied. She wondered if it would be easier if she just booked herself back into the hospital.

She yelped as he picked her up and moved her, she had not been excepting it she had been lost in thought watching Drake change the bedding she gasped "Drake your friends, they would have smelled, hell I am not even a vampire and it smells like sex in here" She found herself blushing a deep red.

Then shook her head as he asked if she was hungry but her stomach immeditaly growled in response. She shrugged her shoulders. "I guess, I am just feeling a bit weak still"

Drake looks at her and reads her mind. He says, “You are not going to the hospital so stop thinking about it.” He lists to her heart rate a moment and says, “Your blood sugar is very low that’s why you are tired.” He gets some fruit nice and cold. He brings her some peaches in a bowl and says, “Please eat these. The natural sugars will help you feel better.”
